[First visit on March 14, 2023] From the Arakawa Yuenchimae Station on the Toden Arakawa Line, if you head towards Otsuka along the railway tracks, you will find this shop on your left. For those who want to visit by JR, take the Ogu Station exit, go straight on the road ahead, turn left onto the road where the Toden Arakawa Line passes, and the shop will be on your left shortly after. On this day, I took a day off to go to the hospital for postoperative observation. However, I left home late, so the hospital was much more crowded than I had imagined... After finishing the X-ray before the examination and waiting for about an hour, it seemed like a long wait ahead, so I informed the staff that I wanted to go out for about an hour and headed to this shop. I arrived about 5 minutes before noon on a weekday. Inside the dimly lit shop, there was only one Japanese male owner... It seems that only the "Curry Leaf Rice Set" is available during lunchtime. They had options for "Non-Veg (Chicken)" and "Veg". I chose the former, and it arrived in about 7 minutes! First of all, the rice was intriguing. The "Curry Leaf Rice" was incredibly spicy! The aroma of the curry leaf stimulates the appetite! The texture is crispy, with a slight crunch from the spices and nuts, making it incredibly delicious! The chili pepper on the surface is cooked to a crispy texture, making it enjoyable to eat, so it would be a shame to leave it uneaten! However, no matter how delicious the rice is, it makes you want to eat it with curry. The chicken curry here was also excellent! It was labeled as "Pepper Chicken," and the spicy accent was very nice. As it is Indian curry, the spiciness is strong, but it also has the depth of flavor similar to Western curry, which I think is the curry's greatest strength! The chicken was tender and juicy chunks! The compatibility with the "Curry Leaf Rice" was naturally excellent! Both are spicy, but their types are different! The "Tomato Rasam" with a moderate acidity was also incredibly delicious. It was a type of rasam that you can generally imagine, but it was just right with the spicy rice and curry! Finally, I tried the "Poriyal" in a mixed state with everything! It settled down with a good sense of balance without leaning too much towards the spiciness. There was a decent amount, but it was so delicious that I finished it quickly... hence, I felt a bit unsatisfied. I left the shop completely satisfied, with a tingling spiciness lingering on my tongue! Looking at past reviews, it seems that the lunch menu changes frequently. Being served such a unique menu that is not a standard, I am only interested in future menus! I would like to visit again during my medical visits and try various dishes at this shop! Thank you for the meal.
