You can enjoy a cultural and sophisticated time while indulging in a wide variety of sherry wines and Pisco Sherry Baron's cigars, with the added bonus of the wonderful personality of the owner. The creative Nanban dishes are delicious, and personally, the blue cheese simmered chicken meatball rice is the best. The Iberico pork rice is also fantastic.

Sherry expert Mr. Nakase's shop. The inside of the shop is filled with a large number of wine bottles. Of course, even the counter is invaded by wine bottles, leaving only about 15 centimeters of usable space. I wonder how big the counter originally was. The atmosphere is more like a used bookstore than a museum. If you have an interest, you can find a treasure trove of stories that will satisfy your intellectual curiosity, but for those who are not interested, it's just alcohol. Isn't Sherry that kind of drink? Even as a bar, it's a place that some people who enjoy the secretive hideout vibe might like, while others may find it unsettling. At least it's definitely not suitable for seducing someone. It's a place where you either click with it or you don't. I ordered a Sherry Cream and a Sherry Brandy. Just two drinks that day, as I planned to hop around for drinks. It's fun to encounter unfamiliar brands. This is the place to come when you start getting interested in Sherry and want to try drinking it systematically. When you're trying to step into the world of new drinks, whether you find a great guide will determine whether you get sucked into the rabbit hole later on. I think that coming here will open up a deeper world of Sherry than other Sherry bars. However, as mentioned at the beginning, it has its quirks. The doors are not wide open, but for those seeking, they will open. Well, that's probably how it is.

On the first night of my Tokyo gourmet trip, I visited the restaurant of the Sherry master I admire, Mr. Nakase (^w^). Since my last visit in early March, I have gained a lot more knowledge about Sherry in the past four months, making it even more enjoyable for me. I particularly focus on the marriage of Sherry with food, and my experience in a bar in Kyushu in May has enriched my knowledge and expertise in this area. I believe that it is important to not just rely on textbook explanations but to personally experience and savor the taste and sensations of the alcohol. Sherry is truly deep and complex. I also got a signed copy of Mr. Nakase's book and look forward to further studying Sherry as a lover of this unique drink. The food at Mr. Nakase's restaurant was incredibly delicious, and I would love to try recreating it myself. The special spices used were outstanding. I had a great time enjoying delicious food and engaging conversations with other guests. I will definitely make sure to visit again when I come to Tokyo. Lastly, my personal favorite Sherry to drink on its own is still Amontillado. ❤️

When it comes to sherry wine, Mr. Nakase is so famous among sherry wine lovers that it seems like there is no one who does not know him. I visited Mr. Nakase's shop, "Sherry Museum," for the first time during my Tokyo gourmet trip. As someone who became fond of sherry wine at Estoy lleno and Comedor kito in Nagoya, I had been wanting to visit Mr. Nakase's shop. He is truly knowledgeable, so I think even beginners in sherry wine can enjoy the shop comfortably. Personally, if I were to enjoy sherry wine on its own, I prefer the rich Amontillado or Oloroso. The rich Amontillado I had that day was amazing, with a sweet aroma reminiscent of maple caramel. In terms of gourmet, I currently lean towards Japanese cuisine and sushi, so I am thinking about finding a Fino or Manzanilla that goes well with these dishes in the future. Sherry wine is a distilled spirit, so it does not leave any residue, making it a recommended drink even for those who are concerned about sugar content. I hope that the circle of sherry wine enthusiasts will continue to grow.

Sherry's selection is quite extensive. I enjoyed trying out various types while looking at the easy-to-understand chart. The interior of the store is quite small, with a cozy atmosphere filled with regular customers. Since there is hardly any menu, it is best to ask if they offer meals and recommendations. Although it is a bar, they also offer warm meals, which was satisfying. Thank you for the meal.

This is the shop of Mr. Nakase, the renowned Sherry expert in Japan. If you tell him what kind of flavor you want or ask for a Sherry that goes well with a dish, he will provide you with the perfect glass. It is a fantastic top-notch restaurant. Definitely worth a visit!

Wow, I had assumed that this restaurant would be more sophisticated and pretentious, but I was pleasantly surprised by how welcoming and delicious the food and drinks were. It's even better than the places I used to go to in Ginza. I used to work at a publishing company in this area back in the last century, so I don't get to visit often. Maybe my preconceptions were influenced by the person next to me boasting about spending 100,000 yen in one night. The atmosphere of this place, with its 15 years in Gotanda, is really nice. I was a bit hesitant to try it because it seemed new and high-class, but it turned out to be fantastic. I can't believe some people don't appreciate the delicious food here based on the ratings on Tabelog. Cheers!
