I had dinner at this restaurant. From the sign, I had always thought that this was a place where you could eat dishes like champon. When I entered the restaurant, it was lively with customers drinking alcohol. It's an izakaya! As someone who mainly focuses on food, I thought I might be mistaken about this place. Amidst the lively atmosphere of people drinking alcohol, my companion and I simply ordered our meals - I got Nagasaki plate udon for 950 yen, with the option to choose hard noodles which I did. My companion ordered bibimbap for 750 yen. Since it was hot outside, we also ordered bottled beer for 600 yen. The noodles in the Nagasaki plate udon seemed like the type you can buy at supermarkets or wholesale stores. The portion of ingredients was generous! The seasoning was good, and it tasted delicious. The bibimbap had a homemade-looking presentation. The miso sauce was tasty. It might also taste good with rice! Despite the homemade presentation and seasoning, we enjoyed it. When we ordered beer, sweet simmered beans were served. We were charged 200 yen for the appetizer, and I thought they were charging us for it, but it turned out that the appetizer charge was not included in the bill. I wonder if it's charged for customers who drink heavily, and not for those who don't drink much?

Located between Higashi-Jujo Station North Exit and Oji-Kamiya Station, a little off the Higashi-Jujo Ginza. Around 12:20 on Saturday, there were 7 customers before me and none after me. Both tables were full, so I sat in the tatami area. I ordered the champon that I had decided on before entering. Nagasaki Champon Regular ¥850. It had plenty of vegetables, meat, and seafood, and was quite good. The soup was very light, but the flavors of the ingredients were well blended and tasty. The noodles were too soft for my liking. The ingredients were delicious, so if I have the chance to go again, I might try the plate udon. 9.25

The tonkatsu restaurant I was aiming for was full, so I tried to find a karashi-yaki restaurant, but it was not open yet. As I wandered around, I came across a champon restaurant, but it looked more like a yakiniku restaurant, with the name "Nagasaki". It seemed suspicious, but I entered anyway because I was thirsty. Inside, it was like a Showa-era Korean yakiniku restaurant. I sat in a private room and ordered beer and simmered beef tendons. The beef tendons had a classic flavor with just the right amount of spiciness, and the portion was generous. The beer went down smoothly. I saw someone taking the beef tendons to go, so I followed suit and took some home. If this place was closer to my house, I would want to come back for drinks in the evening.

Revisit. Second time. A restaurant located a short walk from Higashi-Jujo Station, serving Nagasaki champon and Korean cuisine. The restaurant has only 5 tables inside. It's a popular spot, so it's often full and hard to get a seat. We ordered the "Nagasaki plate udon" (with soft noodles), "homemade gyoza," and some appetizers, along with bottled beer. The plate udon allows you to choose between fried noodles and soft noodles, and if you choose soft noodles, it comes in the style of "yaki champon" or "soupless champon." Now, the plate udon. The noodles are not the typical plate udon noodles, but rather thick and chewy noodles. They have a strong alkaline taste and a chewy texture. Despite that, they are properly cooked to remove excess moisture, with some parts having a slightly burnt edge, creating a unique texture and flavor. And because the moisture is properly removed, the sauce sticks well to the noodles. The base flavor of the sauce is a bit ordinary, but the seafood taste is prominent. However, personally, I think the soup-based "Nagasaki champon" I had last time was more delicious. Or perhaps, if you choose this plate udon, getting the noodles in a larger portion might enhance the balance between the strong-flavored sauce and the noodles.

【Title】<I want you to know>【Visit Motive】Friday night. After a long time, I decided to have a solo meal on my way home from work. This time, I chose this place that I had been eyeing on my way back. The name of the restaurant is great for lovers of champon and plate udon (laughs)【Location】About a 5-minute walk from Higashi-Jujo Station. Proceed through the Higashi-Jujo shopping street and turn right at the insole shop. Probably no parking available.【Impressions upon entering】I entered at 6:00 PM, with no other customers. There are 2 tables and 3 sunken kotatsu tables, giving off an atmosphere similar to a long-established set meal restaurant or izakaya. The background music is a Korean drama on TV. The staff are likely Korean. The menu includes Korean dishes like chijimi, but the main focus is on champon and plate udon. Other options include yakiniku, set meals, and a variety of drinks and snacks. The prices are not too high. Let's start with the main dishes.【Ordered Menu】- Nagasaki plate udon (large serving) 1,080 yen Taste 4.0 Cost performance 3.8 You can choose between fried noodles or soft noodles, and this time I chose soft noodles. Cabbage, bean sprouts, squid, bell pepper, wood ear mushrooms, imitation crab meat, pork, some kind of shellfish, and small shrimp. Plenty of ingredients! The large serving is truly generous. Piled high on a big plate. The regular size is 880 yen, so the large serving is an additional 200 yen, but the amount is worth it. It's served piping hot, which is great. The noodles are slightly fried, giving them a crispy texture. The flavor is on the rich side. Towards the end, you can enjoy it by mixing in mustard and vinegar. I haven't eaten plate udon at many places other than Ringer Hut, but this one was incredibly delicious! - Homemade gyoza 380 yen Taste 3.4 Cost performance 3.3 A set of 6 small gyoza. Juicy meat stands out more than the vegetables. The skin is soft and tasty. Handmade is always good. - Extra large rice 300 yen Taste 3.3 Cost performance 3.8 The plate udon was so delicious that I added extra rice (laughs) It costs 300 yen, but it's a huge portion! When I ordered the extra large rice, I thought there would be no side dishes, so they gave me a complimentary serving of kimchi. It's not too sweet, which I like.【Overall Impressions】A great restaurant with generous portions and nice surprises like complimentary kimchi. Above all, the food is delicious! Perhaps because it's slightly off the main shopping street, there are only 4 reviews online. Even though it was Friday night, no other customers came besides me. But if I lived in Higashi-Jujo, this would definitely be a restaurant I'd frequent. Another restaurant I want to see succeed. Next time, I'll try the champon.

I visited a restaurant called "Nagasaki" around 11 a.m. on a certain day in June 2021. It is located about a 5-6 minute walk from Higashi-Jujo Station. The restaurant offers a variety of dishes that are a hybrid of Nagasaki and Korean cuisine. The interior of the restaurant is not very spacious, with only 2 other customers present when I arrived. I sat alone at a table seat and ordered the "Plate Udon (regular)" for ¥880. You can choose between firm and soft noodles, and I requested the classic firm noodles. It took about 10 minutes for the dish to be served. Despite being a regular portion, the plate udon had a good amount of ingredients and a satisfying volume. The plate udon had a nice balance of sweetness and richness. The thickness of the sauce was just right. I was personally pleased to find kamaboko (fish cake) in it. The balance between the noodles and the toppings was just right. The sweetness of the vegetables was very pleasant. There were fewer seafood and meat toppings than I expected. I enjoyed the plate udon by adding vinegar from the table to give it a bit of acidity. I would have been happier if there was some kimchi sauce available. I savored the plate udon with plenty of vegetables until the end. "Nagasaki" offers a variety of Korean and Nagasaki dishes, as well as a wide range of set meals. They even serve sashimi, making it a restaurant where you can enjoy a variety of dishes in Higashi-Jujo. It is a convenient restaurant for lunchtime. I look forward to visiting regularly in the future.

A short walk from Higashi-Jujo Station, this restaurant offers a unique combination of Nagasaki, izakaya, and Korean cuisine. The flavors are solid, with dishes like champon and raw liver sashimi standing out. The champon here is on the lighter side compared to other Tokyo shops, allowing the natural flavors of the vegetables, meat, and seafood to shine through. The simple yet satisfying taste makes it easy to enjoy without getting tired of it. The square-cut noodles are soft and fluffy, a unique type. And surprisingly, the raw liver sashimi is delicious, with shiny, fresh liver and a perfect balance with cucumber. Highly recommended.

On this day, I landed in Higashijujo around lunchtime for the first time. I unexpectedly encountered a wonderful plate of udon. I like to enter restaurants on a whim in new places, so I searched the shopping street. I sensed a good atmosphere at a shop called "Nagasaki." The shop was run by a husband and wife, with the master likely being a Japanese cuisine chef and the wife seeming Korean. They had Korean lunch menu options, but I chose champon and plate udon. For the plate udon, you could choose between fried noodles and champon noodles, and I chose champon noodles. The noodles were properly fried in oil, making them crispy on the outside and delicious. It was loaded with squid, pork, and fish cake, and the flavor was incredibly tasty! It might be the best plate udon I've ever had. Maybe even better than Nagasaki Ryanten in Shibuya. The champon was slightly refined in taste. It could have been a bit more flavorful. However, the plate udon was so wonderful that I would be willing to go all the way to Higashijujo just to eat it again. Ah, it was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

This was my second visit to this restaurant, and I visited during the end of the lunch hour on a weekday. Last time, there were smoking customers, but this time, we were the only ones there, so we didn't have to deal with any smoke. The interior of the restaurant is small, with three low tables and two regular tables, each seating about four people. I ordered the Bibimbap set for 600 yen (tax included), and my acquaintance ordered the Motsu Nabe set for 650 yen (tax included). The food was served incredibly quickly, arriving in about 5 minutes. The Bibimbap included seven ingredients: fried egg, four namul (spinach, carrot, bean sprouts, radish), ground meat, seaweed, and a generous amount of gochujang sauce. The fried egg was perfectly cooked, and the gochujang sauce was delicious. I may have put too much sauce this time, so be careful not to overdo it. The Motsu Nabe was also tasty and had a good portion size for a reasonable price. If they made it non-smoking during lunchtime, it would be perfect.
