Located a 3-minute walk from Ueno-Hirokoji Station C5 exit on the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line, "No-buchan" is an izakaya on the 1st floor of a building in the Nakamachi shopping street. I visited for the first time on a night in early January. The interior of the restaurant has a total of 31 seats, including counter seats and table seats. I was guided to the counter seat. The restaurant is run by two male staff members. I started with an "Ulong High" (420 yen) in hand and looked at the menu on the table. On this day, I ordered "quail" (180 yen), "negima" (180 yen), "cartilage" (180 yen), "chicken skin" (180 yen), "heart" (180 yen), "tongue" (180 yen), and "grilled liver" (530 yen). The yakitori was cooked to my liking and had a delicious taste that went well with alcohol. The grilled liver was also incredibly soft and melted in the mouth, making it a perfect accompaniment to drinks. I had three more Ulong Highs that day and paid the bill. Despite being in the deep nightlife district of Ueno, I was able to relax and enjoy some drinks and yakitori. Thank you for the meal.

I went to this shop with a friend, attracted by the mysterious catchphrase "Red Lantern and Freshly Crushed". We entered hesitantly. There were skewers of pork, chicken, and lamb. I really like lamb, so I ordered the motsu stew and potato salad. The appetizer was pickled cabbage. I also ordered the pig's head, pork collar, chicken skin, and lamb skewers, and they were all delicious! Thank you for the meal. It was not crowded, so it might be a hidden gem.

A rare visit to Ueno for a spontaneous adventure. Without any prior research, I chose a restaurant to try out. The friendly staff from Vietnam provided excellent service. Although the sign says "yakitori," the menu also includes a variety of skewers such as beef and pork. There are also many other appetizers available. The restaurant allows smoking and has both counter and table seating. Many customers were dining alone.

Today I went to Ueno. I was interested in Nobuchan, so I decided to visit. It is located a little ways down Ueno Nakamachi Street, with a red lantern outside. There were a few groups of customers inside, speaking Chinese and Korean. We toasted with shochu highballs and green tea cups. The appetizer was a cabbage vinegar dish. I love the kimchi here, it's a must-order for me. There was a lot of miso on the turnip, but it was still delicious. That's all for now. Thank you for the meal!

Love and desire street, Ueno Nakamachi Street. Perhaps due to recent influences, the neon lights have dimmed and the flashy atmosphere has toned down a bit, but the cosplayers standing outside the shops are still going strong. It's a different vibe here compared to the lively Ameyoko side. In the midst of all this, there's a lonely yakitori shop. Normally, yakitori bars are a place for old men to relax, but here you'll find a unique clientele from Nakamachi Street. There are managers with their girls, hosts with their girls, and a variety of other colorful characters inside the shop, creating a scene reminiscent of a human zoo. Surprisingly, the yakitori here is delicious. The skewers are large and satisfying. On this day, I enjoyed intestines like shiro and kiku, and the "Kikyo kimchi" I tried for the first time was excellent. The relatively rare red Hoppy (55 Hoppy) is a good deal as they keep refilling it generously. By the third glass, the Hoppy becomes rich and enjoyable. It's a shame there wasn't a pretty girl next to me, but it's a place where even old men can have a good time. I'll definitely come back. Thank you for the meal~

Today, I was bar hopping around Yushima and Ueno area, which I really like because there are many bars here. Without a specific destination in mind, I stumbled upon a place called "No-buchan" and decided to check it out. The atmosphere inside was typical of a casual izakaya, nothing fancy but cozy. The drinks were not super cheap, but they had a good selection of mega-sized menu items. I ordered a Black Nikka Mega Highball (600 yen) and some dishes to go with it.
First up was the seared liver (480 yen) with plenty of green onions. It wasn't mind-blowing, but it made a good snack with drinks. Next, I tried the spicy grilled chicken (450 yen), which had a rich flavor without being too spicy. Finally, the stir-fried leeks and eggs (380 yen) were my favorite - the eggs were fluffy and delicious.
Overall, the experience at No-buchan was decent. It was a fun place to enjoy drinks with friends. The menu seems to focus on yakitori, but you can also enjoy a variety of small dishes like we did. It's not super cheap or super delicious, but it's a casual and convenient spot to drop by for a drink.

At times like this, I became a "izakaya refugee" and just wanted to enter anywhere, and luckily I was able to get in. (laughs) I probably shouldn't write this, but they accepted my unreasonable request and let me drink in a small space at the entrance. The main dish was hormone yakitori, and it was really good. The skewers were not cheap and really delicious! I am truly grateful for the warm service!
