- Dal Bhat (1,650 yen) and 6 pieces of momo (750 yen) were ordered. Asked if extra rice was needed, which was confirmed. Visited at 3.73 rating. - Sansar currently has 3 locations: Honhachiman, Koiwa, and Shinjuku. - Menu includes Nepalese dishes, as well as various North Indian dishes like tandoori and curry. - Visited around 19:00 at Manbou. No customers initially, but later 4 groups with 5 people arrived. Last order seems to be at 19:30. - Ordered Dal Bhat and momo. - Dal: Saltier than other places, but still maintains the gentle taste of dal. Clear flavors and good as a side dish or over rice. - Tarkari (curry): Chicken, beans, carrots, and other vegetables in a slightly spicy curry. Tastes great with rice. - Tarkari (soup-like): Unique flavor that is hard to identify. Distinct aftertaste. - Tarkari (chicken): Received a complimentary soup-like tarkari with momo. Slightly spicy and enjoyable. - Momo: Filled with minced meat, not juicy. Similar to a dense shumai, delicious and easy to eat. - Overall, enjoyed the Dal Bhat. Would like to try other dishes at Honhachiman and Koiwa locations in the future.

After watching a movie, I headed towards East Shinjuku for lunch and visited this restaurant. It was the middle day of a three-day weekend, but there were plenty of seats available. I ordered the A lunch set, which came with Nepalese curry with chicken and mutton. The portions were surprisingly large, especially the naan bread. The mutton had a unique flavor, but was well-cooked and delicious. The chicken was also very tasty. The naan bread was good as well. The set also came with rice, making it a great deal for 1,000 yen. I left the restaurant feeling full and satisfied. If you're looking for lunch in East Shinjuku, I recommend coming here.

This is a Nepalese restaurant located near East Side Square, passing through Kabukicho. They serve dishes from the capital city of Kathmandu, and have several chains in Tokyo and Chiba. The Tsuera, a chicken dish mixed with onions and spices, was deliciously spicy. I also enjoyed the Moi, a Nepalese yogurt that is not sweet at all. The Chatamari, topped with egg yolk and made of rice flour, was definitely tasty.

Recently, I've been visiting Shinjuku a lot and I have the impression that there are plenty of B-class restaurants. This particular restaurant is located about a 15-minute walk from JR Shinjuku Station. When I arrived at 11:15, there were no other customers. I ordered the Nepal lunch set for 1150 yen, which was served on an aluminum plate after about 5-6 minutes. The set included curry, bean soup, stir-fried vegetables, pickles, and rice, like a typical set meal. It wasn't anything extraordinary, but it was decent enough.

I visited the Shinjuku branch of the restaurant I recently visited in Koiwa because I wanted to experience the same excitement. The lunch Dharbhat at the Koiwa main branch was quite reasonable at 1,150 yen, but at the Shinjuku branch, it was 1,750 yen. It may not be fair to compare a Sunday night with a weekday lunch, and the contents are different (an extra curry and dessert are included), so it's natural for the prices to be different. However, I was quite surprised by the significant price difference. I felt that I preferred the taste at the Koiwa branch. The Shinjuku branch was also delicious, but the spices seemed milder. I was very disappointed that the vegetable stir-fry, my favorite part of the Dharbhat, was served in a smaller portion. The Dharbhat was very delicious, just like at the Koiwa branch. It was my first time trying the dessert, and I quite liked it. Overall, I was satisfied with the meal, but my longing for the main branch has only grown stronger. I want to go, but it's far away...

I was planning to go to an art exhibition in Shinjuku on this day, but despite making a reservation in advance, I was told there was a 3-hour wait and ended up canceling on the day (^^;) It was good that I was properly refunded. So, since I had some free time, I decided to visit the Sunsalr Shinjuku store that I had wanted to go to for a while. I relied on Google Maps to get there, but it was scorching hot under the blazing sun ( ̄▽ ̄;) I arrived feeling like I was going to die! First, please give me a cold beer! I can't revive without it (laughs) They brought it to me quickly and I gulped it down! Ahhh! I came back to life (≧▽≦) Let's order now that we've cooled down. The lunch menu has a variety of set menus. I want to eat Tandoori Chicken, so I decided to order the B set. The default comes with rice and naan, and the amount of rice is quite generous. You can change the naan to cheese naan for an additional 300 yen. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is homely. Perhaps because it's located in a residential area, there seem to be many regular customers. After about 10 minutes of waiting while enjoying my beer, the dishes arrived! Let's dig in! The Tandoori Chicken and Chicken Tikka are great with the beer I've been drinking. The naan is freshly baked and delicious. The curry is also good. Since lunch is curry-centric, I didn't feel much of a Nepalese vibe. It seems like it would be more enjoyable with a la carte dishes in the evening. This is a restaurant I would like to visit again if it's close to the station. Thank you for the meal.

Arrived around 1:30 pm on Saturday. There was one customer already seated. I thought it was a good time to visit, but within 5 minutes, the restaurant was almost full. It had been about a year and a half since my last visit. I went with my 6-year-old daughter this time. We chose the B lunch set for 1,450 yen including tax. Although I was tempted by the Nepalese lunch set, I chose the B lunch set for my daughter who loves naan. We selected mutton and keema curry. The dishes were served in about 10 minutes. I forgot to take photos of the food, but I had the same impression as my last visit - the curry at Sansar has a well-balanced flavor profile. Even my daughter, who usually only eats butter chicken when it comes to Indian food, enjoyed mixing the chicken tikka with rice and having a few bites. The mutton curry was also delicious, with a skillful balance that brought out the aroma of the mutton. The keema was also very tasty. I once again realized that Sansar excels at combining authentic flavors with dishes that appeal to everyone.

Arrived at 10:56 on a sunny Wednesday with a temperature of 35 degrees, but the store opened at 11:05 instead of the scheduled 11:00. Ordered the B set for ¥1,450 (Tandoori Chicken, 2 types of curry, salad, lassi, without naan). Asked for extra rice instead of naan, resembling a Nepalese person who looks like Yuto Nagatomo from FC Tokyo soccer team, and got a friendly response. Tray arrived 4 minutes later with two types of Tandoori Chicken and rice on a separate plate. The lentil curry was mild, while the mutton curry had a slight spiciness. Forgot to take a photo of the lassi, but it was included. The Tandoori Chicken had different yellow and orange spices. Overall, the price seemed reasonable for Shinjuku.

[2022 Asia Ethnic TOKYO Top 100 Restaurants] Located about a 7-minute walk from Shinjuku-sanchome Station, this restaurant offers delicious Nepalese curry in a casual setting. I visited around 1:20 pm on a weekday and was able to enter without any hassle. The restaurant was relatively empty, with mostly people working nearby. On this day, I ordered the following: [Set A for 1000 yen] ⚫︎ 2 types of curry (choose from 7 options) ⚫︎ Naan ⚫︎ Rice (free refill) ⚫︎ Salad ⚫︎ Drink Overall, the set was well-balanced and reasonably priced at 1000 yen. The service was quick, which I appreciated. The lentil curry was light and soothing, perfect for fans of lentil curry like myself. The mutton curry was also delicious. With a variety of curry options available, this restaurant is great for lunch outings where you can try different flavors. Thank you for the meal! ✨

Opened in 2001, "Sansar" is a Nepalese restaurant in Higashi-Shinjuku known for its vegetable-centric menu with minimal oil, based on the owner Malakar's family recipes. The name "Sansar" means "world" in Nepali. There are also branches in Honjo-Watatsumi and Shinkoiwa. Nearby, there is another popular spice curry restaurant called "Sanrasa," which means "gathering taste" in Nepali. The Nepalese lunch set costs 1,150 yen and includes Tarkari (Nepalese vegetable chicken curry), Dal (bean soup), Achar (pickles), rice, and salad. This is similar to a traditional Nepalese meal called Dal Bhat, which consists of rice, bean soup, curry, pickles, and side dishes. The chicken curry includes daikon radish and potatoes, making it healthy and easy to eat with moderate spiciness and minimal spice flavor. The chai tea has a soothing taste similar to hot milk. Overall, Sansar is a great place to enjoy a delicious and healthy meal, whether you're dining alone or with friends.

Today, I feel like having naan instead of the usual curry and rice, so I decided to go to Sansar Shinjuku. They offer a special lunch course for ¥1,300, which includes your choice of curry (I recommend the butter chicken curry), naan, salad, and more. While their curry is delicious, I personally love their naan - it's soft, fluffy, and slightly sweet. The combination of the amazing curry with the naan is unbeatable!

Lunch with great cost performance! For 1000 yen, you can choose from two types of curry with rice and naan, and a drink is included. The taste is also good! It's a great restaurant!! However, the customer service from the staff varies too much... I felt a bit disheartened when a staff member with no smile came after the one who was smiling (lol).

Visited the store on Monday, July 17, 2023, before 2:30 PM on a public holiday. It was before the idol time, and there were no other customers. I ordered the Nepali lunch set (¥1150), which included Dal Bhat. It came with a drink, and I chose Masala Chai on ice. The set included Dal soup, green bean and chicken curry, radish achar, spinach and garlic stir-fry, and rice. The chicken curry had a moderate level of spiciness and tasted good. I enjoyed the Dal soup as well. The radish achar had a hint of coriander. The meal was well-balanced.

Lunch on 06/28 (Wed) at Sansaar Shinjuku branch. A lunch set (choose from two curries - Keema, Mutton) with a drink (lassi) for 1,000 yen. Paid in cash. Good service, double oshibori, fast service, good taste, good cold water. Being able to eat both rice and naan is a differentiation from other restaurants. Mutton curry is spicy, Keema curry is mild, creating a balanced combination. Good balance of main dish and curry sauce.

I visited for lunch and they had curry lunch and the lunch I ordered this time. The hygiene manager's name was written in a cute, unfamiliar font. It seems like everyone working there is Nepalese. There was a cold, richly flavored tomato stew-like dish that was delicious.

As it was my first visit, I wasn't sure what to order, so I went with the recommended dinner set and a glass of beer. Being a reputable restaurant, the curry and naan were both authentic and delicious. There were several curry options to choose from, allowing me to enjoy a variety of flavors. It might be better to visit for lunch in terms of atmosphere. The total cost was 2300 yen.

I had some free time and decided to visit this place that I had been curious about for a while. It is located a 3-minute walk from Higashi-Shinjuku Station and Shinjuku-Sanchome Station, in front of a Seven Eleven. It was Sunday around 13:30, and the place was bustling with families. There were two groups of customers before us, but we were seated right away. I ordered the A lunch set for 1000 yen, which included two types of curry (Enoki mushroom & spinach curry, bean curry), naan, rice, salad, and a drink. I like that you can choose according to your preferences, and the fact that a drink is included makes it very affordable! I initially thought it was an Indian curry restaurant, but the Nepalese curry flavor was strong. The spices were milder compared to Indian curry, and even children seemed to enjoy it as it wasn't too spicy. The vegetables were well-cooked and soft. The only mistake I made was when I asked about the daily curry and heard "enoki," so I immediately ordered it without realizing it also had spinach, which I don't like. I apologize for leaving it unfinished. The bean curry, on the other hand, had smaller beans than I expected, making it easy for children to eat. There was a flyer in the restaurant advertising bento boxes starting from 600 yen, which would be convenient for a regular business lunch. Unfortunately, they don't have a flyer for takeout menus. I would like to visit again when I have time or maybe try their bento boxes. Thank you for the meal!

I arrived at GW's Higashi Shinjuku and was the first to have lunch. I had the Nepalese lunch set (Dal Bhat). The Dal had a strong garlic flavor that awakened my appetite. The Tarkari, which is okra and chicken curry, and the Saag, a simple spinach stir-fry, went well with the white rice. The Achar was also just the right amount of sour and spicy, with a mild overall spiciness and flavor. I thought there was a lot of rice, but before I knew it, I had finished it all. After the meal, I was soothed by the rich and milky Masala Chai, leaving me with a smile. I definitely want to come back to this restaurant.

I visited the Shinjuku area for lunch, where I don't usually walk around. It was a bit late for lunch, but the restaurant was almost full. Luckily, I was able to get in without waiting in line. I ordered the lunch set where you can choose from two types of curry, the curry of the day and the keema curry. The curry of the day had potatoes, spinach, and chicken, and the keema curry was surprisingly more soupy than I expected. Both curries went well with the rice and naan. Having white rice was also a unique touch.

I have been extremely busy at the start of the new year, and even had to work on a Saturday, which was supposed to be a day off. Finally, I was able to finish my work in the evening, but the only thing I had eaten all day was a nutritionally balanced food product I had with me. I decided to treat myself to a delicious dinner at this restaurant near my office. I ordered the "Sansar Dinner Set" for 1,750 yen, which includes a choice of two curries: Mutton Curry and Keema Curry, Tandoori Chicken, Chicken Tikka, Garlic Naan (additional 300 yen), Rice, and Salad. The curries were both flavorful but not too spicy, making them suitable for everyone. The Mutton Curry I chose had a rich and complex flavor, bringing out the unique taste of mutton. The Keema Curry was also delicious, with a perfect balance of minced meat and ginger. The combination of the curries with rice was tasty, but I especially enjoyed them with the Garlic Naan, which had a chewy yet crispy texture and a delicious garlic flavor. The dinner set was satisfying both in terms of taste and portion size, and I left feeling full and content. The menu also includes dishes that would be great as appetizers with drinks, so I look forward to visiting again in the future. Overall, the delicious curries and other dishes at this restaurant were a delight. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I ordered a curry set for dinner (with an extra serving of naan) and it cost 2,100 yen. I felt that it was delicious and worth more than the price. The curry had a good amount of spices and was tasty, but I wish it was a bit spicier. I will definitely go back again.
