This is a sister store of Mumbai Kitchen located at the south exit of Nishi Ogikubo. The menu is exactly the same. When I arrived close to 1 pm, the restaurant was almost full and I managed to find a seat. It seems more crowded compared to Kitchen, perhaps because you can see inside from outside and due to its location. Since I had been eating fried rice at Kitchen recently, I decided to order the A set lamb curry this time. I usually go for medium spiciness, but this time I tried medium-hot. The salad and drink were served promptly, followed by the curry. The amount of lamb was small but easy to eat without any strong smell, and the medium-hot spiciness was just to my liking. The naan, with its distinctive size and chewy texture, had some crispy parts on the back, similar to Kitchen. Since I opted for a different spiciness level, there wasn't much curry left, so I decided to eat it with rice instead of naan. The rice was not turmeric rice but a mix of Indica rice and Japanese rice in equal parts. Although there were some questionable aspects in terms of the service, such as clearing the table while there was still some food left, I felt satisfied in terms of filling my stomach.

Encountering Biryani that makes you feel like it's snowing in Mumbai? @Nishikasai
Temperature above 25°C in an Indian city like Mumbai, there's no way it would snow... haha. However, this white Biryani with a surprising two-layer structure! Inside, there's a delicious curry packed in. It's quite a surprise! Feeling like you got a good deal~ Expressing such a feeling, it's like snowing in the streets of Mumbai... haha.
You can experience such a wonderful feeling at the Indian restaurant "Mumbai Palace." Weekday Biryani lunch set with vegetable Biryani set for 1,100 yen. You can choose from various soft drinks for the set drink. Of course, I chose lassi and enjoyed the Indian atmosphere during lunch.
The clean Indian vibe-filled interior of the restaurant. It was around 2:30 pm on a weekday, so it was not crowded, but the scent of a popular restaurant was in the air.
From the naming of vegetable Biryani, I thought it would be filled with white Biryani, but inside was a genuine spicy Indian curry. Wow! Carrots, potatoes, green beans, and other vegetables in a spicy Indian curry. The white Biryani alone is delicious, but the curry inside is also exquisite! As you eat, your mouth becomes filled with the taste of curry, and the white Biryani becomes like snow lightly piled on top of the curry... haha. A taste double structure! I want to say, but it seems like curry rice is the main dish... haha.
So, that's the story of how the quote "It's snowing in the streets of Mumbai!" (self-proclaimed quote... haha) came to mind... haha.
While waiting, I carefully looked at the other menus, and there are plenty of exciting options for Indian cuisine dining. I want to experience the feeling of enjoying Indian cuisine dining with drinks! It was a wonderful lunchtime encounter at a lovely Indian restaurant.

In West Kasai, where many people of Indian descent live, I had a simple lunch set of naan and curry. I chose the normal level of spiciness, so it was neither too spicy nor too sweet, making it easy to eat. The large lassi drink felt like a good deal. The restaurant seemed to be one of the top ones in West Kasai, with a large kitchen and many chefs working. The constant ringing of the order phone made me feel like it was quite a popular place.

Nice to meet you, I'm Chappy Jinbo. I would like to request a favor. The restaurant is Mumbai Palace located at 5-8-19 Nishikasai, Edogawa-ku. The phone number is 03-5658-4028. The nearest station is Nishikasai Station. This time, I entered during lunchtime. I chose the curry set from the lunch menu. The price is 650 yen. The set includes one curry, naan or rice, and salad. You can choose from chicken, vegetable, or bean curry. I ordered naan and chicken curry in spicy flavor. The chicken curry had a strong ginger flavor. The set content is very cost-effective. That's all for now. See you later.

I had Biryani for the first time. I always wondered how it was different from fried rice, but the curry was buried under the rice. The Chicken Biryani lunch came with three pieces of chicken, and it was quite a generous portion, filling up my stomach. It was nice to watch Bollywood dance scenes on the big screen in the restaurant.

Nishi-Ogikubo is known for its many Indian curry restaurants, but I decided to try something different for lunch that day. I ordered the Cheese Naan Set with Dal Curry and Mutton Curry with medium spiciness. The curries were very easy to eat and didn't have any strong mutton flavor. This was my first time trying the Cheese Naan as part of the set, and I found that regular Naan would have been better with the curry. The Cheese Naan made the meal a bit heavy. It might be better to order it separately.

Here in Nishikasai, Tokyo's Little India. There are Indian restaurants and grocery stores all over the town. The restaurant is located by walking along the rainbow path from the north exit of the station, then turning right at the end. On a weekday night at 7:00 PM, there was only one other customer. I ordered the chicken biryani and one kebab. The kebab and biryani, served after about 10 minutes, were both quite large in size. The kebab had a mild taste with minimal lamb flavor and spices, very elegant. The biryani was delicious when eaten as is, light and fluffy, and mixing it with the curry sauce at the bottom added depth to the flavor. I ordered it spicy, so it was about the level of medium spiciness. I enjoyed it with raita and onions for flavor variation, but couldn't finish it all, so I took about half home. The next day, I stir-fried it into a jambalaya-like dish, and it was still delicious. The long-grain rice didn't deteriorate much even after being refrigerated, so stir-frying it was no problem. I was able to enjoy the taste of Tokyo's Little India for two days.

Today, I didn't have anything specific I wanted to eat, so I decided to try the Chicken Biryani (1200 yen) here. I ordered it medium spicy. It may be a bit pricey for lunch, but it comes with salad and a drink so it's not too bad. At first glance, it doesn't look much different from other biryanis I've had. When I mixed it well and took a bite, it was quite spicy even though I ordered it medium. The chicken pieces were large and there were about 4 of them hidden in the dish, giving it a good amount of substance. The basmati rice was softer than I expected, I prefer it a bit firmer, but the balance of spices was good, not too overpowering. The raita (yogurt-like with chopped vegetables) was not too sour and could be mixed into the biryani or used as a palate cleanser. I also ordered Indian coffee after the meal, which had milk already in it (not sweet, you can add sugar to taste), with a film-like layer on top from heating the milk. I enjoyed it as it was without sugar. It was a nice flavor to end the meal. It was delicious!

I revisited the restaurant where I had my first experience of biryani. Since that initial shock, I have been trying biryani at various Indian restaurants, but this place holds a special place in my heart. The authentic Indian hospitality, along with the delicious chicken biryani, never fails to impress me. Even though it was not on the lunch menu on a Sunday, I insisted on ordering it separately. The biryani arrived, still warm and packed with flavorful masala. The taste was just as amazing as I remembered. My taste buds, now accustomed to biryani, still agree that it is delicious. So, if you are looking for a place where you can't go wrong with biryani, I highly recommend this place.

I have always been curious about Indian cuisine, but whenever I go to an Indian restaurant, I end up ordering the curry and naan set. However, this time I tried Biryani for the first time at Mumbai Palace. It was a flavorful Indian dish with a good amount of spice, contrary to my image of biryani being a simple rice dish. It was much spicier than the usual curry in Indian cuisine! I ate it while panting, gulping down water. The combination of spicy masala, sweet rice, and spicy chicken was delicious. I added some lemon for a different taste halfway through, and finished it off with refreshing yogurt for another flavor change. I enjoyed it without getting tired of it. Thank you for the meal!

Today, on the way back from errands, we decided to stop by a curry restaurant in Nishikasai on a whim. We ordered a set of two curries for the holiday lunch, with Dal curry and Butter Chicken curry in medium spiciness, and a lassi for drinks. The naan bread was all-you-can-eat with the set and came with a drink, all for a great deal of 990 yen including tax! Our order arrived in about 5 minutes. The large naan was piping hot and we had to wait a bit to touch it. The Butter Chicken curry was mild and sweet. The Dal curry had some yomogi in it, which reminded me of a traditional Japanese room in a house I visited long ago, giving me a nostalgic feeling. The lassi had a good acidity and was a nice break after eating until we were full. It was a satisfying meal! Without realizing it, I've had curry for three days in a row (laughs). I like to think that eating curry every day has kept me from feeling tired even in this consecutive heat wave.

The curry restaurants in Nishikasai have expanded quite a bit, so I decided to revisit a place that I tried at the beginning. I ordered the 2 curry set, with today's specials being spinach cheese and shimeji chicken. I switched the iced tea to iced coffee, as I heard the iced tea already had milk in it. The naan was big and hot as usual, and there were crispy and fluffy parts that were really good. The curries were just right in terms of spiciness, with the shimeji chicken being my favorite at medium spice level. It's not overly hot, but it warms you up from the inside. Eating curry on a hot day might actually make you feel good afterwards. Next time, I might try the biryani.

An Indian curry restaurant located about 10 minutes from Nishi-Ogikubo Station. I visited the restaurant on Sunday around 12:00 pm. The place was quite busy, with about 70% full. I ordered the 2 curry set for ¥990. I chose Keema and Butter Chicken curry with medium spiciness. The curry had a decent level of spiciness and was flavorful, catering well to Japanese taste buds. The Naan was very large and satisfying to eat. It was served hot and delicious. You can also get free refills of rice and Naan, making it a great value for money. Thank you for the meal!

Mumbai Palace in Nishi-Oi: Their samosa chat and Szechuan chicken are amazing. The Chinese-Indian fusion chicken has a perfect balance of spiciness and garlic flavor. The crispy texture is irresistible! The samosa chat is a perfect combination of yogurt and cilantro.

It's been a while since I visited this place, and this time I tried the chicken fried rice that caught my eye last time. It didn't take as long as I thought to be served. The texture was slightly moist, with a mild saltiness that gradually revealed a hint of spices as I ate. It was quite interesting. I noticed a slightly chewy texture at times, and upon closer inspection, it seemed like two types of rice were used. Perhaps Japanese rice and Basmati rice? Mixing it with the mini curry that came with it created a unique flavor, different from regular curry rice. Alternating between the original fried rice and the curry rice was also enjoyable. The chicken fried rice exceeded my expectations! The portion was quite generous, but thanks to the mini curry, it was gone in no time. It's only available for weekday lunch (not available on weekends and holidays, and not confirmed for weekday evenings), so it might be difficult to visit, but if you can, definitely give it a try.

I met up with my Indian friend for a lunch meeting and we decided to go to his favorite spot, a Little India restaurant. The Indian food was delicious, but unfortunately they did not accept cards or digital payments, which was a bit disappointing. We ordered a vegetable biryani, shrimp fried rice with basmati rice, seekh kebabs, fish, and chicken curry as side dishes to share. The salad was ordinary, but the biryani was fantastic. It was great on its own and even better with the yogurt sauce. The highlight was the shrimp fried rice. The basmati rice was perfect for fried rice, and the fish had a slight frozen taste but the spicy curry flavor made up for it. The chicken curry was also delicious as expected. Overall, it was a good meal and I would come back for the curry next time.

Today, I revisited this Indian restaurant located diagonally in front of Sunny Mall, which used to be Daiei Nishikasai store, for an early lunch to avoid crowds. I ordered the "A lunch set - spinach chicken curry spicy, tax included 790 yen" with naan and mango lassi. The saag chicken curry with chicken chunks, spring onions, bell peppers, paprika, and shredded ginger on top was sticky and spicy, just as I expected, and delicious. The large naan with a crispy and chewy texture was enjoyable, leaving about 1/3 of it uneaten. It was delicious. Namaste!

Nishigashi has many curry restaurants, so I decided to try one by one. First, I went to Mumbai Palace and ordered a 2 curry set with spinach mutton and butter chicken. I chose medium spiciness for both curries and a mango lassi for the drink. The first thing that caught my eye was the size of the naan bread. When I tried it, it wasn't particularly soft or fluffy. It was a different sensation that I'm not used to, and personally, I felt that curry goes better with rice. The curries were both medium spiciness, but the butter chicken could have been milder. That was my mistake. The spinach mutton curry was just right. It's fun to explore different levels of spiciness in curries. The salad had a familiar sesame dressing. The lassi wasn't very thick, but it had a strong mango flavor, which was nice. All of this was under 1000 yen, so it was good value for money. Everyone's preferences may vary, so it's important to find what suits you. I'm curious about the weekday biryani and fried rice, so I might try that next time.

The interior of the restaurant is spacious and beautiful, contrary to the initial impression from the outside. I came to this restaurant because I wanted to try "Dosai". As I looked at the menu, the waiter brought water and mentioned that anything from the grand menu, except Dosai, was available. I decided to go with a safe option of a 2 curry set, choosing mutton and chicken with beans as the second curry. The meal started with salad and a drink, followed by the main curry dishes and naan. The naan was delicious and the rice was a mix of short-grain and long-grain rice. The chicken and bean curry was mild, while the mutton curry was spicy and flavorful. I added a half-size naan later on, which may have been too much as I was quite full by the end. Overall, it was a satisfying meal and I look forward to trying Dosai on my next visit in the evening.

This is the second branch of Mumbai Kitchen in Nishikasai 6-chome that I visited before. There is no dedicated parking lot, so I parked my car at a nearby parking lot. This time, I ordered the Tandoori Cheese Naan Set with Keema Curry and Dal Curry, while my wife ordered the BBQ Set, which includes Indian-style fried chicken called "Chicken Tikka" with mutton and crispy potatoes. We chose a slightly spicy level 4. The curries all looked the same except for the crispy potatoes, but you could taste the slight differences in flavor from the different types of meat used. The cheese naan was delicious with plenty of cheese and a chewy texture. The Tandoori Chicken had a good aroma. We had a satisfying lunch and were full. Nishikasai's curry restaurants rarely disappoint, which is great. Thank you for the meal~
