かわとよ
I had a reason to go to Tokyo and since my usual hotel was fully booked, I decided to stay in Nishi-Kasai after searching online. Nishi-Kasai is an area I used to visit for work when I was a salesman, almost 30 years ago. There were some buildings and shops that looked familiar, and it felt really nostalgic. One thing I wanted to try while staying in Nishi-Kasai was curry. There are many Indian restaurants in the area now, probably because there are many Indian residents. Among them, I had my eye on "Mumbai Kitchen". I was excited to try Indian cuisine in Nishi-Kasai. I arrived at the restaurant just before 12 pm. It had an authentic Indian restaurant vibe. The Indian staff showed me to a table. I looked at the menu and wanted to try the lunch buffet, but usually you have to order it for the whole group. However, when my wife asked, they said it was okay to order separately. How generous of them! I had the lunch buffet (1180 yen) with chicken, vegetable, and yogurt curry, a biryani, a fried dish, salad, rice, dessert, and mango lassi. Of course, naan was also all-you-can-eat. I'm not very familiar with Indian cuisine, so I couldn't accurately convey the names of the dishes. For the 2 curry set (990 yen), I chose mutton and keema curries from 12 options, with mild spiciness as per my wife's preference. It came with rice, naan, salad, and mango lassi. The curries were all delicious. The naan from the 2 curry set, which was a whole piece, tasted better than the sliced naan from the buffet. It might have been because it was freshly baked. I planned to have seconds from the buffet, but I was too full. The couple at the next table had multiple helpings, so if you have a big appetite, I recommend the buffet. Honestly, I didn't feel much difference compared to Indian curry in Osaka, but the price felt a bit cheaper. I was happy to have delicious curry until I was full. Thank you for the meal.
