I was working late and really wanted to eat curry. I was torn between Eric's Shack in Yaesu Underground Mall and Yaesu Chikagai Curry Street. I ended up feeling like having European-style curry, so I decided to visit Ginza Swiss for the first time. I had their recommended pork cutlet curry and a highball to cheers. The curry was delicious, but at 1,400 yen, it felt a bit pricey. Thank you for the meal.

On the final day of the three-day weekend, I entered the restaurant around 6:50 pm on a holiday Monday. Due to the three-day weekend, Tokyo Station's underground dining area was very crowded, but this place was only about sixty percent full. They have counter seats, so it's safe for solo diners. I ordered the original Katsu Curry. It's famous that Chiba-san put tonkatsu on top of curry, and it seems that it happened at this main shop. The curry was a traditional one. Therefore, it was delicious! The fact that you can enter without waiting is also a big plus. It was delicious!

In the Yaesu underground shopping area directly connected to JR Tokyo Station, there are four curry restaurants gathered as a Curry Quartet. Located a little further from the Yaesu South Exit, towards Yurakucho Station, across from Coco Karafine. During a late lunch hour on a holiday, there was a line at the soup curry restaurant. We were able to enter without waiting too long, about 80% full. Today, I had the Curry with Fillet Cutlet for ¥1,700 including tax. The crispy fillet cutlet was refreshing. It goes well with the spicy but not too hot curry.

At "Ginza Suisu," I had curry. It is a long-established Western-style restaurant founded in 1947. This is the place where Katsu Curry originated. I ordered the curry lunch, which comes with both beef and pork, making it a luxurious and satisfying meal with salad and a drink. I also tried the curry with a fried egg on top. Pork Cutlet Curry for 1,400 yen. The breading on the cutlet is crispy and the meat is delicious without being dry. The curry was also tasty. I wish there was a bit more rice and curry. I also wanted some sauce to eat with the cutlet. It's ridiculous to pay the same price for cutlet curry at a ski resort.

Chiba-san's Katsu Curry for 2,800 yen is amazing! The tonkatsu made from premium pork is prepared and cooked like a top-notch tonkatsu restaurant. The rich flavor of the fat is sweet and tender. The curry has layers of spices that create a rich and irresistible taste. I added some sauce towards the end to switch up the flavor a bit. This might be the best katsu curry ever. However, it's also worth visiting just for the tonkatsu itself. It's seriously amazing.

I visited this place for lunch. I was drawn in by the Ginza Swiss curry. Today's lunch was half tonkatsu and minced meat cutlet curry. The tonkatsu was freshly fried and crispy. The minced meat cutlet oozed with fat when you chewed it. The cutlet was tender, almost melts in your mouth. The curry itself had meat that melted into the roux, giving it a rich meaty flavor. The spiciness was quite mild. I thought the portion might be small, but I ended up feeling full.

I knew about Columbia 8, Ginza Swiss, and Okushiba Shoten on the Yaesu side of JR Tokyo Station quite early, but this was my first visit. I had eaten at Columbia 8 before, but I didn't feel full, so I decided to stop by here as well. As the timing was off, it was not crowded and I was seated at a table. Today's lunch was the Pork and Chicken Double Cutlet Curry for 1300 yen. First, a salad appeared. It was mainly leaves, but the bacon bits were delicious. Next came the Pork & Chicken Cutlet Curry. When it was brought to me, I was worried if I could finish it all, but the cutlets were surprisingly small and the rice portion was moderate, so I managed to finish it. The curry roux had a tomato acidity that I enjoyed. Thank you for the meal.

I had katsu curry at the original Yae Chika store where katsu curry originated. The crispy and hot katsu on top of the mildly sweet curry, with the meat melting in, was a perfect match! The extra serving of rice disappeared in no time. Thank you for the meal.

Before going to the Idemitsu Museum of Arts, we had lunch. One of us ordered the original Katsu Curry, while the other ordered the daily lunch special. Both curries seemed to have a common base. The ingredients were finely minced to the point of melting in your mouth. They had a rich flavor, but didn't leave a heavy feeling in your mouth, leaving a refreshing sensation. It was a type of curry that we had never encountered before, and we really liked it. The nostalgic bright red Fukujinzuke was also a nice touch. It was served on a small plate, almost like a bento box, perhaps to prevent the rice from getting stained by the Fukujinzuke, or maybe it was just an operational measure. We don't know the reason, but it was a nice touch. The original Katsu Curry had pork loin cutlet, while the daily special had pork tenderloin and shrimp cutlet. The pork loin had a good amount of fat marbling, which oozed out juicily when you took a bite. The pork tenderloin was more tender than the pork loin, without the greasiness but still moist and juicy. The shrimp cutlet was different from the ones at Maisen, with a smooth minced shrimp texture instead of chunky pieces. Personally, we preferred the shrimp cutlet at Maisen.

Opened in 2022 as one of the four TOKYO CURRY QUARTET stores in Yaesu Underground Shopping Mall. I arrived on a Sunday afternoon just after opening, so I easily found a seat. The background music was old jazz. I ordered the upgraded version of the original Katsu Curry, the W Katsu Curry, along with a side of fresh vegetable salad. I have been to the main store and the Tsukiji store before, but this was my first time here. The European-style curry was just as I expected - not too sweet, not too spicy, just right. The Katsu was crispy and thinly sliced diagonally, making it easy to eat.

Original Katsu Curry: Katsu W Rice, Extra Large Curry. The curry was unlike any I've tasted before, making it hard to stop eating with a spoon. Occasionally, I could sense a hint of sweetness and acidity, maybe from yogurt? The katsu was freshly fried and juicy, delicious. At 1,920 yen for lunch, it may seem expensive.

I had the W Katsu Curry and Sapporo Black Label at Tokyo Curry Quartet, a restaurant located in Yae Chika, directly connected to Tokyo Station. I visited at 6:30 pm on a weekday. Ginza Swiss is known as the originator of Katsu Curry, so I had their famous dish. The combination of curry and katsu was delicious. The katsu was cut diagonally and looked stylish. I enjoyed it very much.

The restaurant serves the same menu as always. I first visited the main store in Ginza when it became the venue for an alumni association meeting. I remember the enjoyable time spent with everyone more than the food. I think the main store used to be a single house in a back alley in the past. Now I heard it is located around the back of Itoya, moving from place to place. I knew for a long time that there was a Ginza Swiss curry restaurant in a corner of the Yaesu underground shopping area, but today I decided to stop by. Honestly, I don't usually expect to pay over a thousand yen for a curry. I ordered the famous katsu curry. After waiting for 10 minutes, a blonde lady brought it to me. The plate was smaller than I had imagined. The katsu was crispy and had the scent of lard. Surprisingly, it didn't feel heavy. The curry was a European style with minced meat and the sweetness of vegetables blended in. The spices were also gently stimulating. As I ate, I kept thinking about how the alumni were doing. The strength of a restaurant with a long history is its welcoming atmosphere.

Visited the Yaechika Curry Street store around 12:30 on Monday, July 31, 2023. The place was almost full, so I was seated at an open seat at the counter. I ordered the daily lunch special for ¥1300, which came with a salad. The daily special that day was curry with tonkatsu and croquette. I started with the salad, and then tried the curry. It seemed to be made with beef and various vegetables finely chopped and simmered. The fibers looked fine. The taste was rich with aspartic acid and inosinic acid. The portion of rice was also generous, making me feel quite full.

I visited Ginza Swiss in the Yaesu underground of Tokyo Station, known for its European-style curry, at the Tokyo Curry Quartet. The main store is the birthplace of Katsu Curry. Of course, I had to order the Katsu Curry. Looking at the menu at the entrance, I decided to go for the daily lunch special which was a half-size Katsu Curry with beef and pork cutlets. It came with a side salad. The green salad with lettuce and cucumber was delicious with a tangy dressing. Soon, the Katsu Curry arrived. The curry had a natural sweetness from the vegetables and meat, with mild spiciness. It was really tasty. The cutlets melted in my mouth, releasing a rich flavor. The mild curry paired well with the cutlets.

Decided to eat a spiced dish to help improve blood circulation in my shoulders in the midst of the air-conditioned chill of winter. Today's pork cutlet was the thickest I've ever had. It was cooked well with a satisfyingly chewy texture. The curry sauce was a bit mushy overall, but I guess that's just part of the charm in summer. The floor staff at the restaurant were quite memorable. I wish they had provided toothpicks, especially with a dish like pork cutlet.

Arrived at the restaurant just after opening time around 11 am. Was seated at the counter and ordered the original Katsu Curry for 1400 yen without even looking at the menu, as I had done my research beforehand. The dish arrived on the table in about 10 minutes. The curry sauce is said to be made without flour, cooked with vegetables and minced meat to give it a thick texture. The curry sauce indeed had a rich flavor from the ingredients, and it was evident that it wasn't trying to mask it with spices. The tonkatsu was well-prepared and paired perfectly with the curry sauce. I started by dipping the right side of the tonkatsu into the sauce with a fork. The meat had just the right amount of fat. Then, I switched to a spoon, scooped up some rice, mixed it with the sauce, and savored it in my mouth. It was clear that this wasn't your typical commercial curry; it wasn't overly spicy but still delicious. Katsu curry can be heavy, but this one didn't weigh me down and I enjoyed it until the last bite. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. Thank you for the meal.
