I went to this café for some French toast during my break time. When I got to my seat, I noticed a QR code placed on each table to order through your smartphone, which seemed to be the latest system. After struggling a bit, I finally managed to place my order, but I couldn't shake off the doubt if it actually went through. Without the courage to ask the staff, I waited nervously for about 5 minutes until my order arrived: an iced coffee. (´▽`) Well, what I ordered was: 【Seasonal Limited French Toast】with pears for 780 yen (tax included) Blended Coffee (Iced) for 580 yen The French toast was divine. As soon as it touched my tongue, the aroma of butter and wheat spread delightfully, and it melted so smoothly. They used excellent bread, not too sweet and quite sizable, yet it didn't make me feel heavy at all. The pear sauce was also rich in flavor, accentuating the refreshing taste of the pears to the fullest. It's truly a splendid French toast with so much attention to detail. And the fact that you can enjoy such a carefully crafted French toast for less than 1000 yen explains its popularity. It was absolutely delicious. Thank you for the treat. ===========

It's been quite a while since my last visit. I arrived around 10:30 on a holiday and waited for about 30 minutes. It seems like this place is quite popular among foreign tourists, maybe because it's mentioned in guidebooks. I wanted to refresh my memory since I had forgotten the taste, but the French toast itself was delicious with just the right amount of crispiness. While the toppings were okay, I still felt that eating it as is tasted the best. The coffee was decent, although they boast about their roasting, it didn't stand out that much. I avoided the whipped cream, but I'm tempted by the Royal Milk Tea.

[Top 100 Restaurants] cafe AALIYA (Visit Date: 2023/09/22 around 12:00 PM) ✔︎ French Toast (Seasonal Sauce + Blueberry Sauce) → The fluffy French toast is filling, even with just two slices. The sauce is generous, and personally, I prefer it over ice cream. The reason being that the ice cream doesn't melt quickly! You can enjoy the mildly sweet French toast with the ice cream intact until the end! ✔︎ Service / Atmosphere → Around noon, the place started getting busier. Although the interior isn't overly spacious, they've managed to secure enough seating, making it comfortable even for solo diners to enjoy their meal in peace.

I went to a second party after a women's meeting. I had been there before and the French toast was amazing. This time, I chose flavored teas inspired by my zodiac sign, and ordered seasonal French toast with cinnamon apple. I was excited by the cute Wedgwood cups. The fluffy French toast had a gentle sweetness. It paired well with the refreshing apple compote with a hint of acidity. The seasonal French toast came with white peach compote and yogurt ice cream. It was also delicious. There was also a dinner set with soup, salad, and a drink. They offer half portions of the French toast, which is perfect for a second party.

*French Toast (Caramel Sauce) ¥700* For brunch ☺️, the main menu is French toast, and you can choose your sauce freely! ✨ I was torn between the seasonal peach and yogurt ice sauce, but on this day, I was in the mood for caramel (*´༥`*) The French toast is fluffy like a soufflé! It's delicious even eaten as is, but when dipped into the caramel cream, it becomes sweet and slightly salty, even more delicious. Since the egg mixture has soaked through to the inside, there's no dryness in the bread, it's incredibly moist! Despite the restaurant being underground, there was a lineup of stairs all the way to the surface ( ˊᵕˋ ;)

I visited around 11:30 am on a weekday. It's right after crossing the signal from exit A1 of Shinjuku Sanchome Station. There were about 2 groups ahead of me when I descended the stairs, but I got seated in about 10 minutes. The interior was a bit dimly lit. As I sat at the counter, I couldn't see other customers well, but it seemed like there were many young people. I scanned the QR code on the table to order. I opted for the lunch set, which of course includes the popular French toast! I also ordered iced tea and soup. The soup seemed to change daily. It arrived in about 10 minutes. The soup was a consommé? vegetable soup. I took a sip and it was delicious! Lots of vegetables and even some chicken in it. While this place is known for its French toast, it was evident that they put effort into all their dishes to make them delicious. Now, about the French toast. They provided a butter knife, but it cut cleanly. Crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside. The balance of flavors is excellent! It's delicious on its own, but also great with cream or cinnamon. However, today I was particularly impressed by the soup more than the French toast. It made me want to come back just for the soup. I'd like to try minestrone or clam chowder next time.

A popular café known for its French toast that's available until night. I went there in the evening, around 18:30, and luckily got a seat at the counter without waiting. The French toast was fluffy, and there were many choices for the sauce, making it enjoyable to pick. The coffee was delicious, and there seemed to be a variety of tea options. I also noticed other customers ordering interesting soups and salads.

I went to a café in Shinjuku that had high ratings and tried their pancakes and salad set. The salad had more volume than I expected, and getting French toast with it made it a good deal. However, if you go after having a meal, you'll end up quite full. The French toast was fluffy and moist, incredibly delicious.

I went around 2 PM on a weekday! I descended the stairs and was seated without waiting. It's a cozy, somewhat small, hidden gem-like space, and despite its size, it was a comfortable place with many customers. I ordered the weekday-only set with French toast, soup, and coffee. The French toast was fluffy and creamy. The clam chowder was substantial, with lots of ingredients in a light, brothy soup. Since the French toast was a bit sweet, it paired well with the soup and coffee. It's cost-effective, and I'll definitely want to visit this place again!

Here's the translated restaurant review: "I've been eyeing this place, signed up as a member without actually visiting, just to take advantage of their member services. Apparently, they offer monthly email specials, and this month happens to be my birthday! On top of that, they sent a birthday email wishing me well and offering a drink service worth up to 640 yen. Couldn't pass that up! Arrived at 1:00 PM to find the place packed. Luckily, a cheerful lady quickly cleared a four-person table for just me to sit. I wasn't sure when to mention the email to order, but thankfully the same lady was nearby and helped me out. I ordered the seasonal French toast for 760 yen, which came with white peach sauce, frozen yogurt sorbet, and a lemon mousse topping, thanks to the birthday offer. It was almost overwhelming with all the toppings! The French toast looked perfect with its golden brown color, and it was thick and fluffy with a nice bounce. Not too sweet, but a bit tricky to cut with the small fork and butter knife provided. The peach sauce, sorbet, and lemon mousse complemented each other well, creating a gentle, flavorful experience. Since it was a special occasion, I ordered an iced café au lait for 640 yen, opting for whipped cream without syrup. The bitterness of the coffee and the creamy milk went perfectly with the sweetness overload from the toppings. The atmosphere was lively with mostly young customers and attentive staff, creating a welcoming vibe despite feeling a bit out of place. I'd definitely consider timing my visits for snacks or lighter lunches and would love to come back again."

There's a shop located underground right near Isetan in Shinjuku. Orders are placed via QR code. Since it was a weekday, I opted for the weekday set which included French toast and a drink. This time, I chose tea. The cute plate had French toast, tea, whipped cream, and cinnamon on it. The French toast had its crusts cut off and was thoroughly soaked in egg mixture. It had a crispy exterior, likely due to the high sugar content, while the inside was soft and melty! It was sweet enough even without any additional toppings! (°▽°)!! This is definitely more like a dessert!! I thought of recommending it to my sweet-toothed friends. About half of the customers were foreigners. Although the place was crowded, there was a relatively relaxed atmosphere inside, which was nice♪ Thank you very much.

On a weekday visit, there were only two other customers, and since there were no staff at the front, I felt a bit lost. It seemed like the staff were busy working in the back. We found seats and placed our orders at the counter, but payment was made after we finished eating. It might not be ideal for those looking for a substantial lunch. The atmosphere inside is stylish, so it's a good spot to take a break when tired from shopping or the like.

I had some errands in Shinjuku Sanchome and decided to drop by a popular café known for its French toast on my way back. The café had a cozy atmosphere, although the seating was a bit close together. I used a QR code to place my order, a trend that's becoming more common lately. The French toast I ordered was the cinnamon apple variety. It was delightfully moist and fluffy, with just the right amount of sweetness. The combination of cinnamon and apple was refreshing and complemented the flavor perfectly. I also tried their iced café au lait, which had whipped cream and a hint of syrup. Lately, with the weather getting warmer, I find myself gravitating towards cold drinks more often.

Descending the narrow stairs, a stylish atmosphere unfolded. The French toast was so delicious that it might be the first time I've had something this exquisite. The inside was incredibly fluffy, and I couldn't help but wonder, "What's going on in there?" I tried the plain flavor this time, and even without any specific flavor, it was amazingly tasty. Next time, I want to bring a friend and also enjoy some coffee.

The café near Shinjuku 3-chome has always caught my attention, but the long queues kept me away. However, with some free time today, I decided to brave the line. Luckily, it was only about three people long this time, so it was a great opportunity! This place is famous for its pancakes, despite having a limited food menu. Surprisingly, the interior is quite spacious with both counter and table seating available. This time, I ordered the rumored French toast and a banana smoothie. My companion went for a café latte and a panini. Soon, our orders arrived. I took a sip of the banana smoothie first, and it was delicious! It had such a smooth texture and the vanilla ice cream on top was divine, perfect for a hot day of walking around Shinjuku. The French toast was incredibly soft, even softer than I expected. While I do enjoy firmer French toast, this soft version was surprisingly enjoyable. It seemed to complement the vanilla ice cream and cream toppings quite well. I also tried a bit of my companion's panini, and the rich cheese was outstanding. The café latte was delicious too, whether sipped as is or mixed.

I had some errands in Shinjuku and felt a bit peckish, so I decided to stop by this café. It's about a 5-minute walk from Shinjuku Station. It was around 4 p.m. on a Sunday when I arrived. As I approached the café, I noticed a line of about three groups forming on the stairs leading downstairs. It was September, but still quite hot outside, and the stairs felt a bit stuffy due to the trapped air. It might have been tough if it were the peak of summer. After waiting for about 20 minutes, customers who had finished their meals started leaving one after another, and I was able to get in. The interior had around 8 seats at the counter and more than 10 tables, which was more seating than I had imagined. What surprised me was that the bar counter, which could accommodate about three people, was where both drinks and meals were prepared. There didn't seem to be a kitchen in the back. You order from the menu using a QR code. I ordered: - Seasonal French Toast: Served with pear sherbet and chunky pear jam-like topping. Just as the reviews said, it had a fluffy texture with a slight sweetness, and it was so moist inside that you could hardly feel the bread. I was in the mood for something more savory that day, but everything that came with the French toast was sweet. It must be quite challenging to prepare eggs and bacon in that kitchen space. Nonetheless, the sweetness wasn't overpowering, and the pear sherbet was refreshing and very easy to eat. - Panini: I wanted something a bit more savory, so this was appreciated. The fillings were quite minimal, and it was a thin panini. - Banana Smoothie - Iced Café Latte: At the ordering stage, you choose whether you want sugar or not, and whether you want whipped cream or not. I ordered mine without sugar and with whipped cream. It had enough sweetness even without mixing in the whipped cream, so for those who usually drink their coffee black, I think it's better without the whipped cream. Even when the place was full, everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves quietly and leisurely. I definitely recommend trying that fluffy French toast at least once.

Visited around 10:30 on Sunday morning. There were two groups ahead of us, but we could wait inside the shop, and the wait was about 15 minutes, which was great timing. It seems easy to visit even alone! From the third group onwards, you have to wait outside the shop, so coming early in the morning is recommended! The French toast was fluffy and delicious~ The seasonal flavor of white peach and yogurt frozen was my personal favorite. The royal milk tea was also delicious with just the right amount of sweetness, so I highly recommend it!

I had been bookmarking this place for a while. It's right near Shinjuku-sanchome Station. I found out they have a great weekday special set (French toast + drink), so I had to go today! I arrived around 4:00 PM on a Friday. There wasn't a line, but the place was bustling inside. Being alone, I took a seat at the counter. Soon after I sat down, the counter cleared out, leaving just me (laughs). Most people came in groups of two or more, so they sat at the table seats. I ordered the weekday limited set I came for, French toast and a drink. I chose iced coffee. You can also choose hot coffee or tea (hot or iced). I ordered by scanning the QR code with my smartphone. While waiting, I observed the staff bustling around behind the counter (laughs). The young handsome guys were working efficiently. In Tokyo, it's often young folks running the show at the shops, which is refreshing for someone like me from Hokkaido. The order came in about 10 minutes. I'm glad they serve the cinnamon separately (I'm not a fan of cinnamon, haha). The French toast here is definitely delicious, crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, to put it in a classic way. The atmosphere of the place is charming, with an old-fashioned coffee shop vibe. I'll definitely come back here again.

Despite arriving for an early lunch at an odd hour, the place was packed with mostly young people. It's a well-known spot for French toast. The hot French toast was incredibly fluffy and melted in my mouth. I wondered about their secret with the bread. Upon observing, they were skillfully taking out pre-soaked toast from the fridge. Three young folks efficiently managed the operation, though it felt oddly devoid of any waste... almost too systematic and impersonal. (laughs)

Visited around 3 pm on a weekday and had to wait for about 10 minutes as there were two groups ahead. When seated, the restaurant was full. Noticed water droplets on the table weren't wiped off, unlike other tables. Ordered French toast and iced tea, which took around 13 minutes to arrive. Cutlery was not properly cleaned. French toast tasted good, but wouldn't come back again.
