タケマシュラン
"Rice Curry Perori" is a restaurant that follows the tradition of the long-established "Manten" in Jimbocho. It has a unique exterior that resembles a makeshift hut, located somewhat inconveniently between Meguro Station and Naka-Meguro Station along Yamate Street. Next to it, you'll find the "Ramen Jiro Meguro Store," which is considered special as it is directly related to the main store in Mita. The interior of the restaurant is small, with only counter seats. There may be only around 10 seats, with seats facing the kitchen and seats by the window. However, being a one-person operation, this size seems just right. Upon entering, you are served with ice water and iced coffee, with a spoon sticking out, reminiscent of the tradition of "Manten." The coffee has a unique taste that goes beyond fragrant to slightly bitter, yet somehow light. The menu also includes "coleslaw," which is quite generous in portion and has a unique charm with minced meat mixed into the dressing. It's a great value at only 200 yen. I highly recommend ordering it. I ordered the Cheese Cutlet Curry with added cilantro on top. This is the regular size, and the plate is filled with a generous amount of white rice, covered with curry evenly poured over it, topped with various toppings, and then another layer of curry poured on top. The difference in price between the regular curry and the cutlet curry is 300 yen, but the cutlet is incredibly delicious. The cutlet is fried after the order is placed, resulting in a crispy texture. The size is perfect, and I highly recommend ordering the cutlet. The cheese is torched with a gas burner before serving, giving it a melty texture and a fragrant flavor. The curry is thoroughly simmered, with a rich flavor typical of Japanese curry, although it's hard to identify the ingredients apart from the minced meat. The nostalgic, sticky texture leaves a lingering deliciousness. After enjoying all of this, the total cost was 1,500 yen. The regular size is about twice the amount of a typical curry, making it a great value. For those with a normal appetite, be aware that you may not be able to finish a medium or large size. Personally, I like it even more than the original "Manten." There are many charming curry restaurants in Meguro, such as "LAND," "Curry Baka Seiki," and "SPICECURRYKERAKU."
