Here's what I got:
---
I've always come here and chosen the chef's specialty and Jupiter's masterpiece, but this time it was sold out, so I decided to try something new for the first time (ノ≧∀≦)ノ 【Laprico Doll, around ¥600】 *nom nom* (^ω^)♪ You can feel a fruity sweetness in the sweet and fragrant aroma. The outside is a burnt milk chocolate mousse cream, with apricot compote inside. It's quite an unexpected combination that you don't often come across.

I had some business at Todai University, so I decided to do a tour of the top 100 sweets shops. This place won the Sweets TOKYO Top 100 awards in 2020, 2022, and 2023. Exiting from the north exit of Todai University Station and walking along Meguro Street, I spotted a yellow signboard on the left side. As I entered, the sweet aroma of pastries filled the air. I seriously thought how happy I would be to work here surrounded by this scent (laughs). I even thought I could fall asleep smelling this fragrance (laughs). As I stepped inside, someone from the shop came out. This must be the specialty, "Jupiter." They use Valrhona chocolate, which must be absolutely delicious. And it says they hide Earl Grey crème brûlée inside. Since I still had some errands, I bought a silver bag with ice packs inside. Unfortunately, due to my poor handling, the cake was a bit ruined by the time I got home (cries). But the taste remained the same! Valrhona chocolate was wonderfully rich and delicious. I couldn't take a nice photo because the cake had crumbled, but it was really tasty.

Tadashi Yanagi's shop, with its visually appealing array of cakes, caught my eye. Amidst many tempting options, I surprisingly settled on the Mont Blanc. I pondered over the choice and wondered if it might be due to the changing seasons, even though it was still hot in late August, hints of autumn were gradually emerging. The Mont Blanc had an impressively fine chestnut paste, with half-glazed chestnuts inside and whipped cream. It was simple yet delicate and beautiful in its construction. I enjoyed it alongside some tea. Thanks for the delightful meal.

The shop is located on a big street about a 15-minute walk from Todoroki University Station. I bought a Tokyu one-day ticket for the Sweets Hyakumeiten 2023 tour and visited this shop, which faces the main street and has its name written on a yellow signboard. It's a quite spacious and lovely shop. The chef has won awards as a modern master craftsman. I went there on a hot Sunday in August at 3 p.m., and there were about three customers, mostly locals. Everyone was buying beautiful cakes, and Mont Blanc seemed to be popular. There were also summer-like jellies on display, and I was tempted by the orange-flavored ones. They have a wide variety of sweets. I bought Madeleine cookies for ¥250. They had two flavors: vanilla and chocolate, and I chose chocolate. They are rich in flavor with plenty of French Isigny butter, eggs, and almonds. Madeleines have a simple yet sophisticated taste, showcasing the skill of the baker. The shop is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. They also have an online shop, and both the shop's own website and Takashimaya's online store were featured on their shop card. It's quite popular, and the staff at the shop were very kind. It was a great shopping experience.

I've passed by this shop many times by car, but today was my first time stopping by. The atmosphere is nice and everything is neatly arranged. Their baked goods using azuki beans are great. Since it's summer, the limited edition plum and coconut cream jelly is incredibly delicious. Another standout is a lemony cream cake where the sweetness and tartness are perfectly balanced, becoming my favorite. Although the specialty wasn't exactly my cup of tea, I'll try something different next time.

The taste was excellent, and the presentation, including the restaurant, was to my liking. The Mont Blanc had layers of flavor with a crispy base and a well-balanced combination of meringue and cream, which I enjoyed. The éclair had a perfect combination of mango cream and chocolate cream, creating an exquisite taste.

It was 11 AM on a holiday, and I had some errands at Komazawa Olympic Park. Since it's not a place I usually visit, I thought of stopping by if there's a good cake shop. I chose a whole cake, a shortcake, for a special occasion, priced at 2950 yen. It looked delightful with vibrant colors and seemed delicious. The whipped cream was light, and the sweetness was just right. Both the fruits and sponge were tasty, and I thoroughly enjoyed a delicious cake after a long time.

I bought it as I was passing by. It was a rainy weekday at 2 p.m., and most of the cakes were sold out, with mostly chocolate cakes remaining. I purchased ◾️Grand Cru Chocolat 680 yen (Inside the 70% cocoa couverture chocolate cream, Madagascar vanilla beans are used. The aroma of cocoa and vanilla is exquisite.) ◾️Delice Pistache 680 yen (Rich Sicilian pistachio mousse paired with praline mousse. Chocolate sponge cake adds an accent.) The sweetness was moderate, and the cakes were easy to eat. They were delicious, though not so impressive as to leave a lasting impression.

Located a 7-minute walk from Todoroki Station on the Tokyu Toyoko Line and about a 15-minute walk from Jiyugaoka, this dessert shop is among the top 100 in the area. While they don't have a wide variety of cakes, they offer various baked goods. The "Jupiter" (¥680 incl. tax) is a specialty with Earl Grey crème brûlée at its core, blending rich chocolate with a subtle and elegant tea flavor. The "Burnt Milk Chocolate with Apricot" (¥680 incl. tax) is a limited-time item; though modest in appearance, it features apricot confit for a fruity touch and an overall gentle sweetness of milk chocolate, making it quite delicious. With around 10 cake options, the choices are limited, but each item impresses with its high quality. The cakes are approachable and enjoyable for daily indulgence without getting tired of them.

Visit date: April 15, 2023 (Saturday) Visit time: 14:15 Queue at the time of visit: 0 people ◾︎ Order: Jupiter Mont Blanc Jupiter is the specialty of this shop. A rich chocolate mousse with Earl Grey cream at its center. The Earl Grey flavor is subtly present within the rich chocolate, making it delicious. The Earl Grey flavor isn't too strong. The Mont Blanc has a strong milky sensation from the whipped cream. The chestnut flavor feels somewhat subdued. It was delicious, thank you for the meal.

Thank you for visiting my Instagram profile: @abura_hate. I appreciate your follows, likes, saves, and follows on Instagram. Your support encourages me. I also organize outings to restaurants that are difficult to reserve. I bought sweets from the 18th store on the Sweets Top 100 list, the Yakumo store exclusive. Next time, I'd like to buy a cake here.

I visited right after they opened. This time, I bought a roll cake as a souvenir! It's fluffy and packed with fresh cream, so it's a big hit with the kids. I personally love their Basque cheesecake, so I always end up stopping by the shop. They have cute designs for cakes for Hinamatsuri and birthdays, so whether it's with family or friends, there are sweets that everyone can enjoy together. It's located across from Central along Meguro Street.

I purchased the 【Delice Pistache】@680, drawn to the Pistachio mousse, at the shop of Mr. Masashi Yanagi, who served as the Chef Pâtissier at the French restaurant "Crescent" after passing through Puy Damour via Mitsukasikan, listed in the Sweets Hyakumeiten Tokyo 19/100. The dessert plate created by Mr. Yanagi is so delicately beautiful that it makes you sigh. Although I was tempted by the specialty "Jupiter," I chose the pistachio mousse this time. The droplet-like decoration is a highlight. Pistachio mousse, praline mousse, and chocolate biscuit are layered in a well-balanced manner. The texture is superb, and I finished it in no time with an exclamation. Once again, I confirmed that Chef Yanagi's mousse is truly delicious. Thank you for the wonderful treat.

Jupiter (¥680) and Gâteau Basque (¥380) from a patisserie near Tokyo Metropolitan University. First, I tried the specialty, Jupiter. It had a chocolate genoise base, with Earl Grey crème brûlée, chocolate mousse, and rich chocolate topping. The chocolate was incredibly delicious, as expected from a good sweet shop. The refreshing taste of Earl Grey added to its deliciousness. Gâteau Basque had a crispy pastry with a buttery and custardy taste, flavored with rum and filled with rum-soaked raisins. It was large and satisfying to eat. Both were delicious. Thank you for the meal!

Located about 10 minutes from the Todai University Station, this place resides in a quiet residential area with a serene townscape. Nestled discreetly amidst the neighborhood, the shops here seem to gently embrace the local residents. The atmosphere is such that one might even forget it's a pastry shop. The ordered items include:
- Strawberry Shortcake (Special) - ¥650
- Jupiter - ¥680
- Basque Cheesecake - ¥480
Each cake evokes a sense of familiarity, as if tasted in a different place long ago. There is a nostalgic and approachable feeling. While there may not be anything particularly new, it exudes a reassuring vibe. The flavors are light, making it easy to indulge in multiple pieces alone. For those seeking the inherent sweetness of desserts, it might be a bit light, but for a quick dessert fix, the size is just right.

Ten minutes walk from Todai University station, if you're aiming to complete the top 100 restaurant challenge, I recommend checking out Adicto Ochukuru and Chimoto nearby for a stamp rally, haha. Among the top 100, Tokyo Sweets is relatively easier. I went for lunch on a weekday afternoon. No other customers when I arrived, just one group after me. Everything on the menu was available.
- Jupiter: A must-try specialty here. Its beauty evokes the mysteries of the universe. Inside the French Valrhona chocolate, there's an Earl Grey brûlée surprise. The chocolate melts so delicately you can't pick it up with your hands. Elegant bitterness with a rich sweetness. A perfect treat for chocolate lovers.
- Strawberry Shortcake: A classic shortcake with a charming appearance. Fluffy sponge and smooth cream. Its fleeting aftertaste vanishes instantly from your mouth.
- Gâteau Fromage: A rich cheesecake with a creamy cheese flavor. The contrast with the crispy crust is irresistible, a classic favorite. Surprisingly, they also deliver via Uber Eats. I'd love to visit again when the seasons change.

After having lunch near the Todoroki University Station, I decided to stop by this renowned sweets shop along Meguro Street since I had come this far. The shop appeared quite small from the outside. Since I had other shopping plans, I looked for something that would last a bit, and I ended up getting a brownie. It had a perfect balance of crispy, pleasantly sweet chocolate on the outside and moist, soft chocolate cake inside. It was truly delicious.

After stopping by Adicto Oshuku, I noticed there was a department store nearby. I hesitated a bit but decided to check it out. There weren't many options for baked goods, so I ended up buying some macarons. I decided to enjoy them at the Shibuya Mark City bus terminal waiting area. The taste was just okay. Later, when I looked it up, I found out that the chocolate cake had good reviews, so I felt a bit regretful. It was a spur-of-the-moment decision, so please forgive me.

After graduating from Takasaki Culinary School in 1974, Masashi Yanagi worked at Ginza Mikasaka Kaikan and Puyi Damour, before joining the French restaurant "Crescent" in 1983. Since opening Patisserie Tadashi Yanagi on November 15, 1998, he has focused on creating confections that bring out the flavors of the ingredients and appeal to the delicate Japanese palate. Yanagi currently serves as the chairman of the Tokyo Confectionery Association and has received various awards, including the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare Award for Contemporary Master Craftsman, establishing himself as a master in Japan's patisserie world. His shop, Tadashi Yanagi, opened on September 19, 2005, with three directly managed stores (Yakumo, Marui Family Ebina, Atelier). Only Yakumo and Marui Family Ebina shops sell products, while the Atelier is dedicated to developing new items. Located about 170 meters northeast from the Nakanekousaten intersection along Meguro Street, the nearest station is Todai Daigaku Station, approximately an 8-minute walk away. Operating hours are from 10:00 to 18:00, closed on Wednesdays. The shop does not offer dine-in options, only takeout. The ordered menu includes Galette Bretonne and Galette des Rois (small). The Galette Bretonne has a perfect match of caramel flavor and butter, moist and delicious. The Galette des Rois (small) has a crispy pastry texture with almond cream and whole chestnuts with skins inside, releasing a delightful aroma of chestnuts and butter with each bite.
[Order]: - Galette Bretonne 300 yen - Galette des Rois (small) 2,350 yen

[Visit Date] Weekday, 2:00 PM [Queue] None. Reservation made in advance. [Service Time] Not specified. Used for takeout. Due to work commitments, celebrated Christmas at home a bit later with a home party. This year's party featured a whole cake from "Patisserie Tadashyanagi." I made a reservation with a simple request for a cheese-based whole cake with fruits. The shop is located along Meguro Street, and its unassuming yet classic exterior seems to mirror the cake itself. ▪️Whole Cake 2,950 yen Received the item and enjoyed it at the home party. Although neither the size nor height is particularly large, the cake's visually appealing presentation gives it a remarkable presence. The taste of the cheesecake is not overly sweet, with a refreshing quality that complements the sweetness and texture of the fruits—a well-balanced harmony. Experiencing the skilled craftsmanship of a pastry chef who has been in the forefront for many years, I found it to be a satisfying treat. Since I missed Christmas, the cake's modest decoration suited my preference well. Thank you for the wonderful meal.
