Today's spice activity in the Shibuya area! I arrived at the restaurant located near Shimokitazawa station, just a 3-minute walk from Shibuya station on the Keio line. The interior of the restaurant is predominantly gray and black, with warm lighting that adds a cozy touch. They serve curry lunches during the day and craft beer in the evening. The lunch theme changes weekly, and this week's theme is "curry for when you want something refreshing." The menu for today includes: - New onion and fresh tomato chicken curry - Herb pork curry 1 type for 1,000 yen, 2 types for 1,100 yen Lately, many spice curry restaurants have been charging extra for ordering 2 types, but I appreciate the reasonable pricing here. I ordered the recommended combination of 2 types by the female owner, and it arrived in about 7-8 minutes! The chicken curry was indeed very refreshing. The combination of lightly cooked new onion, fresh tomato, cumin, and kasuri methi was so invigorating. The pork curry, without the heaviness of pork vindaloo, had a rich sauce flavor and aroma that didn't overpower the pork's taste. The side dishes of apple raita, achar, and coriander were well-balanced, and overall, I felt very satisfied with the price, atmosphere, and food. While enjoying the curry, I couldn't help but be intrigued by the "mutton keema" that was being prepared for takeout only. Bon appétit!

■Two kinds of curry combination + (additional curry) ¥1850 Today's curries: - Herb Pork Curry - Coconut Chicken Curry - Spicy Oil and Sweet Potato Pork Curry The restaurant had a stylish and trendy appearance, so I passed by with Google Maps in hand. As soon as I arrived, I had no trouble finding it. I ordered all three types of curry. Each one had a great balance! I usually don't order pork, but the Herb Pork Curry exceeded my expectations. I thought I should have gotten extra rice. The Coconut Chicken and Sweet Potato Pork Curry was my first time trying it, but it felt like I had tasted it before. It had a comforting flavor. Oh, I'm already finished eating. I wish I could keep eating at this curry restaurant. It was delicious! Thank you for the meal.

Just a 3-minute walk from Jinzu Station, or a 10-minute walk up the Dogenzaka from Shibuya Station, you'll find this popular spot for tantanmen, "Usagi". Visited on a weekday, the restaurant was about 80% full with no waiting time. Mostly solo female diners and curry enthusiasts were present. Ordered the 2 kinds of curry combo with the limited-time menu item, Sudachi Mutton Keema. The Sabacoconut, Chicken, and Sudachi Mutton curries each had their own unique flavors and were delicious. The curry was not too heavy, leaning towards a light soup curry style with deepening spices as you eat. The onions served on the side help refresh the palate. Despite being light, the curry still had a rich flavor and the Sudachi Mutton Keema was a must-try, with a refreshing Sudachi citrus flavor. The total cost was 1,500 yen for the three delicious dishes. The unique and healthy curry is sure to be popular. The evening menu with dishes like Sansho Potato Salad, Ufumayo, and Tandoori Chicken also looks enticing. I might visit for a quick dinner next time. =====MENU===== - Two kinds of curry combo (Sabacoconut curry & Chicken curry) + Sudachi and Mutton Keema (small dish) - Address: 7-8 Jinzucho, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo - Reservation: Not available - Business hours: Mon-Fri 11:30-15:00, 17:30-21:00; Sat/Holiday 13:00-20:00 - Closed on Sundays - Payment methods: Various credit cards/QR code/electronic money - Actual cost: 1,500 yen - Tabelog rating: 3.54 Instagram ID: tam_gourmet_

I went there for the second time. The curry was so well-prepared and flavorful that I wondered if they were studying spices. The side dish had a fruity twist that I really enjoyed. This curry restaurant makes me imagine whether it's because of the quality ingredients or the careful work they put into it. I love the herb chicken curry here. I will definitely go back!

On incredibly hot days, I crave spicy curry! The "Aigake Curry" costs 1300 yen (spicy pork & lemon chicken) with an option for extra large for 200 yen. When it's hot out, I prefer spice curry over Western-style curry. This curry has a well-balanced blend of spices, not too sharp, but nicely harmonized. The meat is tender and delicious!

A curry specialty restaurant that spice lovers will adore, with spices that give a crispy texture to the teeth. Located in the depths of Maruyamacho, Shibuya, near Kamiyama, on a scorching hot summer day. Their menu includes Coconut Chicken, Herb Pork, and a weekly special Ginger Chicken. - 2 kinds of curry plate: Herb Pork and Ginger Chicken for 1,600 yen - Shimei (a small dish to finish off the meal) for 1,200 yen - Lassi (a yogurt-based drink) for 650 yen The perfect menu to survive the hot summer. The spices are strong, with a crispy and clove-filled sensation, yet comforting. The meat is tender, with pork that melts in your mouth. Simply amazing!

I had been curious about this spice curry restaurant. When I walked in, the interior was designed like a complete bar and very stylish. The curry of the day was pork curry and Manjushage chili curry. Since I don't like spicy food, I asked the owner, "Is it spicy?" and he said, "It's relatively mild." So, I ordered a combination of the two (plus mango juice as backup in case it was too spicy). The result was that it was really delicious if you ignore the spiciness! The Manjushage chili was sautéed after the order was placed, making it sweet, and the pork curry meat was tender and the spices packed a punch. It had that authentic spice curry taste. However, for those who are not good with spicy food, be careful... It was spicier than the spicy level of store-bought curry, I think. (I can handle medium spiciness) My lips were tingling while eating and even after finishing, my stomach was upset, and I ended up having to go to the bathroom. It didn't agree with me, that's how I felt. I think if they had lassi, it might have protected my stomach.

Curry shop with natural spring water. They also serve craft beer. They offer two types of curry that change weekly, served together for 1300 yen. The titles are always interesting. This week's theme is "Curry to eat when it starts to get humid." Chicken curry with chili oil and fresh tomatoes, and herb pork curry are on the menu. I also like the sour purple cabbage, apple, and yogurt sides. I often visit for an energy boost when counting down to my days off.

Located about a 5-minute walk from Jinzen Station. I visited around 12:00 on a weekday. Almost no empty seats. The restaurant has a bar-like atmosphere with only counter seats. The staff, two young women, make it very welcoming for even a solo female diner. The clientele seemed to be mostly young women, with only one male customer during my visit, which was quite surprising for a curry restaurant. What I ate today: - Fried eggplant and mackerel coconut curry & chicken curry - Curry combination plate for ¥1,300 including tax Both curries were delicious with well-prepared ingredients, making for a sophisticated curry experience. Despite the name "Spice Curry," the flavors were not overpowering, and it was a stylish curry that would appeal to many. As someone who has been eating a lot of bold and unique curries lately, I found it slightly lacking in that aspect, but it is likely to satisfy most people. The presentation was beautiful, the spice balance was good, the spiciness was subtle, and I enjoyed it all the way to the end.

Two kinds of curry (sweet potato and squid curry + coconut chicken curry) for ¥1,300. The sweet potato was sweet and moist...! The curry was spicy, so the apple in the raita was just right. The chicken was tender and delicious. It was a gentle curry.

I had been curious about Karikari Spice for a while, so I decided to visit as soon as they opened! About 10 minutes after opening, a couple of customers arrived, and just at that time, the curry was ready. Since it was my first visit, I chose a combination of two types that I could try. I tried the mackerel and sansho bonito dashi curry, and the coconut chicken curry, as recommended by the restaurant! I also ordered a small plate of spring onion and mutton keema curry to add to my order! The mackerel curry had a rich flavor with the strong taste of sansho. The coconut chicken curry had a sweet coconut flavor with a rich umami taste. The mutton keema had a nice chunky texture that I really enjoyed! I look forward to visiting again as they have a different menu each week! I can't wait for my next visit.

It's close to my workplace so I went during my break! The curry with saba (mackerel) and coconut curry were both delicious with lots of spices. It was spicy and warm. I heard the menu changes weekly so I want to try different flavors next time!

When walking in Tokyo, I suddenly felt a strong craving for curry, so I searched nearby and found this place. Located between Shibuya and Jinbocho, the photos looked spicy and delicious. Upon entering, I was surprised by the stylish atmosphere. I thought I might have entered the wrong place, but it seems this is a curry shop that also serves alcohol. The interior is very cozy and has a nice ambiance, almost like a trendy bar. The shop seems to be run by a female staff member. I ordered two types of curry, one chicken curry and one mackerel green curry. The curry changes monthly, which seems to be exciting for regular customers. The curry arrived soon, beautifully presented with vibrant colors. The mackerel green curry was quite spicy, with a nice punch of mackerel flavor. The chicken curry had large pieces of chicken, and when eaten together with the curry, the spice and texture of the chicken blended well. I used to frequent curry shops like this in Kobe, and the curry is always delicious no matter where you go. I will definitely come back when I'm in the area again!

Spice curry restaurant. Originally started as a curry shop called "Curry Hills" in Daikanyama, and opened their own shop called Kari Kari Spice in Shibuya. The interior of the shop is like a bar with only a counter. The curry has a different theme every week, and when I visited, it was "Curry to eat at the start of 2023" with squid and green onion ink curry & chicken coconut curry.♪____________________________________♪ ◆Name: Kari Kari Spice ◆Address: 1F Lila Place Shibuya, 7-8 Kamisensho-cho, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo ◆Nearest Station: 2 minutes walk from Kamisensho Station ◆Phone: 03-6754-8113 ◆Business Hours: 11:30-15:00 (L.O. 14:30), 17:30-21:00 (L.O. 20:00) ◆Closed: Sundays (Irregularly closed on Mondays) ◆Budget: Up to 2,999 yen ◆Payment: Cards accepted, electronic money accepted ◆Notes: No reservations, no private rooms, not available for private parties, all seats non-smoking ◆Menu: Squid and green onion ink curry & chicken coconut curry (2 types mixed)♪____________________________________♪

Shibuya Jinseicho Kari Kari Spice -KKS- "Coconut Chicken Curry and Herb Pork Curry Combination" I wanted to eat some spicy curry after a long time, so I came to this place in Shibuya where it's currently trending. I think the owner is probably from Kansai, and the beautifully clean store offers delicious, heartfelt spiced curry. The chicken curry has a good balance of acidity and sweetness, while the pork curry has a rich flavor and depth. The apple also adds a nice touch. It was delicious! Thank you for the meal.

This is a spice curry restaurant on a back street in Shibuya. I often visit because it's close to my workplace. They offer two types of curry that change weekly. There is a seasonal theme every week, and they use fresh ingredients, so I feel like going there every week. The main ingredients are meat or fish, and they use different spices each week, but somehow the harmony or balance of this restaurant is always maintained and it's always delicious. The spiciness is always moderate, gentle on the body, and the friendly female owner's presence makes it a place you want to support. *The photo is from the past.

Shibuya Curry Bar. The cafe-style interior is dimly lit even during the day, creating a chic atmosphere. Although the exterior is not flashy, the almost full house indicates its popularity. For lunch, they offer two types of curry for dine-in, with a simple menu where you can choose one or both. This time, I ordered the two curry plate (1300 yen) which includes chicken curry and ginger and spring onion pork curry. The curry served is easy to eat yet the complex flavors of the spices hit the taste buds in an unexpected way. It's not particularly spicy, but the seasoning is sophisticated, almost tailored for curry enthusiasts. The taste is incredibly delicious, with a delicate touch that seems unique to a female owner. The portion size is just right, leaving you wanting more. The curry is so delicious on its own that I felt it would taste even better paired with alcohol. [Rating] ★★★★★★★★ 8/10 [Certified Excellent Restaurant]

I visited around 11:25 am on a weekday. I arrived to find one person already in line. I didn't know that you could also make lunch reservations here. The restaurant is small, and there were four reserved tables, so by the time I left, it was full. It was good that I arrived early and was able to smoothly enter and have my meal. The menu for the day was sesame soy milk chicken curry and spice pork curry. The sesame soy milk chicken curry had a Japanese style with some spiciness and a creamy sesame flavor. The spice pork curry lived up to its name with a strong spice flavor, and a lemon as an accent. The side dishes included a mix of yogurt and small diced apples instead of raita, small diced pickled daikon radish, pickled purple cabbage, and a little watercress. It was more filling than I expected, with a base of Japanese flavors and various spices as accents, making it delicious. They also had coconut chicken curry available for takeout. Thank you for the meal.

This is a spice curry restaurant located in the area known as Ura-Shibuya, run by a female owner. The unique thing about this place is the creative names given to the weekly curry specials. This time, the theme was "Curry to enjoy on a day when you can feel a hint of autumn breeze." The options were Ume (plum) and Oba (perilla) Mackerel Curry, and Coconut Curry, priced at 1,100 yen for one kind or 1,200 yen for a combination of two. I chose the Ume and Oba Mackerel Curry for 1,100 yen, and added a side of Squid Ink Curry for an additional 200 yen, which was a special available until the end of August. The Ume and Oba Mackerel Curry was surprisingly delicious, with the acidity of the Ume complementing the spices nicely. The mackerel was also flavorful. The Squid Ink Curry was rich and tasty, with tender squid pieces. This was my second time dining at this restaurant, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique curry experience in the Shibuya area.

A 2-minute walk from the south exit of Keio Line's Shinjuku Station, you will find the stylish bar Curry Calica Spice. The interior is visible from the entrance, with only counter seats making it easy for solo or group dining. When I visited around 12:30 on a weekday, most seats were already taken! The menu featured this week's theme, "Curry to eat at the halfway point of August" (Chicken Green Curry & Pork Curry). One type costs ¥1100, while a combination of two costs ¥1200. You can also opt for a small side dish of "charcoal black curry" for an additional ¥200. I ordered a combination of two curries and a small side dish. The dishes were served in about 5 minutes. I started with pickled purple cabbage and watercress. The Green Curry was mild with plenty of coconut, yet had a spicy twist. The Pork Curry was quite spicy, with perfectly tender pork. The rice was cooked with whole spices and served with chopped ginger, stimulating the appetite. Both curries were on the spicier side, but the apple-infused raita helped balance the flavors. The balanced and delicious curries offered great value for money. The restaurant has irregular holidays and changes its theme weekly, so be sure to check their Instagram for updates.
