After leaving the dentist in Jinbocho, I was thinking about what to eat while receiving treatment. Even though the conversation was serious about expensive medical care, the thought of "Let's have curry today" never left my mind. To enjoy food, sometimes you just have to accept the high cost of medical care. I passed by "Tori Aroma" near my former workplace, but it was full. "Biryani Osawa" requires a reservation in advance. So, I discovered "India Fujiko" nearby and decided to go there. I don't think this restaurant was here when I worked in Jinbocho. It used to be closer to Suidobashi than my favorite "Punch Mahal". I went up to the second floor of the building, opened the door, and wondered what kind of atmosphere it would be. There were two counter seats and 3-4 tables. I ordered a large draft beer for 900 yen and chose the "One-person Three-Point Assortment" for 800 yen from the menu, but when I asked for recommendations, they said, "Please choose something unusual." Since I had eaten a lot of edamame in the morning, I asked for something other than edamame, and the chef kindly prepared a small assortment for me. I think it's nice that the chef chooses the assortment for solo diners. The use of olive oil and spices was fantastic. The appetizers included edamame tabbouleh salad, masala water eggplant, baby scallop achaar, green bean walnut salad, zucchini scapece, watermelon mint salad, yellow gaspacho, lentil and spelt wheat, baba ghanoush, sweet potato and plum salad, potato basil pesto, and stuffed bell peppers. I think solo diners would all order this assortment, but I saw two solo diners at the counter ordering the yellow gaspacho separately. Maybe it's okay to order items individually. Since it was my first visit today, I played it safe and ordered the Chicken Liver Curry for 800 yen. It came with mini curry rice. The Chicken Liver Curry was spicy but well-balanced with spices, making it a delicious curry. I wouldn't call this Indian curry "authentic". I think Japanese chefs are good at using a lot of spices. Authentic Indian curry tends to use a lot of oil and separates in your mouth. I felt that the delicious curry here was worth getting the Keema Curry as an additional order. The Keema Curry had minced meat and a strong sauce impact, unlike any Keema Curry I had eaten before. The rice was basmati rice, which made me very happy. They probably have spaghetti and other items on the menu because they can use spices well, rather than just curry dishes. I had always thought of it as a curry restaurant, but I now see it as a spice restaurant. For drinks, I couldn't decide between India Fuji Sour for 600 yen or Chai for 500 yen. I chose the hot Chai, which was creamy, spicy, and sweet, and it was delicious. I think they heated the milk with a coffee machine, but how did they make this Chai so good? I want to try something other than curry rice next time. Items ordered: Chicken Liver Curry 800 yen, Keema Curry 800 yen, One-person Three-Point Assortment 800 yen, Large draft beer 900 yen, Hot Chai 500 yen.

On Saturday at 7pm, it's okay to go without a reservation if you're dining alone at the counter. You can leave it up to the staff to choose your plate, or you can opt for a 3-item platter or choose from 3 options on the blackboard menu. I had a hard time deciding, but I ended up ordering Taromosalatas, Babaganoush, and Sasaage beans with bread. I also added Chicken 65 and the corn and cheese spaghetti that I really wanted to try. The Chicken 65 and Sasaage beans were outstanding, and I quickly finished them with a highball and an Indian Fuji sour. I will definitely be going back.

In 2021, a South Indian restaurant moved from Koenji to Suidobashi. I used to avoid Indian food when eating out, especially curry, because I once broke out in sweat excessively after eating it. Since then, I have been scared to eat out. I'm not good with spicy food to begin with. Also, I'm not a fan of naan bread. I find it difficult to tear it into small pieces and dip it in curry. It's not easy to tear, it can be too hot, and you have to tear it into small pieces many times. Moreover, I personally don't think curry pairs well with alcohol. However, I saw the 'Mint Lemonade' at X and it looked so delicious that it even appeared in my dreams. So, I decided to conduct a reconnaissance mission. The restaurant opens at 12:00 with a relaxed start. The store is located on the second floor, accessed by a semi-spiral staircase. The bright and open interior is decorated with books, giving it a cafe-like atmosphere. The lunch menu includes the following options: ① Pork Vindaloo, ② Keema Curry, ③ Fish Curry (fish varies daily, on this day it was swordfish), ④ Two types of Dal Curry for ¥1100, or three types for ¥1300. I ordered a combination of ②, ③, and ④, along with a small Mint Lemonade with alcohol. First, the Mint Lemonade arrived. It had a hint of rum, a bit of a kick, and some sweetness. With the refreshing mint, I eagerly sipped it through the straw. Ah, it's perfect for escaping the heat. Next, the curry (meal?) arrived. I grabbed the small metal container, which was super hot (laughs). After enduring the heat, I poured the contents from all three containers over the long-grain rice (Basmati rice?). After mixing it all together, I took a bite. It was incredibly delicious, with a strong blend of spices and rice. It was a taste that was irresistible. It was clearly different from European curry, but I couldn't help but appreciate this deliciousness. The chips-like snack (Papadum?) also felt more meaningful than just a side dish. This curry is not too spicy. I even thought, "Wouldn't this curry go well with alcohol?" I learned that during lunch, it's called 'Indo Fujiko' curry set, but in the evening, it transforms into 'Mundo Fujiko' Indian izakaya(?). Looking at the menu photos, it seems like the dishes would pair really well with curry. It seems like a great place. I'll find an opportunity to visit!

I had known about this restaurant since it was in the Fuji-ko Chuo Line area, but it became more accessible after moving, so I finally visited for lunch. The lunch menu is simple and easy to choose from with different levels of spiciness. I chose the 2-item set for 1100 yen and it was served in about 4 minutes. I chose the Pork Vindaloo and Fish Curry (swordfish). The oval plate made the side dishes look nice, but it was a bit cramped to eat without a tray. The spiciness of the Pork Vindaloo was surprisingly strong and the marinated pork was delicious. I wish there was an option to choose just one dish. The Fish Curry made with swordfish changes depending on the day, but the coconut-based gravy seems to be the same. The side dishes like pear and sweet potato added a seasonal touch, and you can enjoy changing the flavors by mixing them. The rice seemed to be a blend of Indica and Japonica, and though it seemed a bit old, it went well with the curry. There was no indication for large servings or refills, so the availability and price are unknown. It seems that the restaurant transforms into an izakaya called Mundo Fuji at night, which seems quite interesting. (3.53)

The curry was delicious, and all the other dishes were also very tasty. Whether it's because of the spices or the use of summer vegetables, the appetizers and salads were very refreshing and perfect for the hot weather. I would like to try other menu items as well. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I used to visit a restaurant called "Indo Fujiko" in my hometown of Koenji several times. It used to be a curry restaurant in Higashi Koganei called "Indo Fuji". Although it has been relocated from Koenji for a while, I happened to pass by and decided to visit. The entrance is on the second floor up an external staircase. Inside, there are counter seats and table seats. Since the table seats were full, I sat at the counter. I ordered a combination of three kinds of curry: Keema curry, Fish curry (swordfish), and Dal curry. The menu offers four types of curry, and you can choose 2 or 3 to order. Besides the mentioned curries, there is also Pork Vindaloo. The spiciest is said to be Pork Vindaloo, but according to the staff, it is similar in level to Keema. The food arrived in about 10 minutes. The presentation was neat and stylish, matching the trendy interior. The curry was served in a small container, with basmati rice and papadum on top. The side dishes included stewed eggplant and bitter gourd. Before starting to eat, I poured the hot curry from the container onto the rice. The amount of rice seemed a bit much. In Koenji, it was served with turmeric rice, but the quantity was less. It felt like there was more curry in the 2-kind combination. Perhaps the shortage of ingredients led to less curry. Among them, Keema was the best. The atmosphere has changed quite a bit from Koenji. While Koenji was more of a place to eat quickly and maybe have a drink before leaving, this place seems more geared towards groups, with a vibe that could also work for a stylish cafe where you can enjoy a meal while drinking at night. I personally preferred the more underground (smelly) atmosphere of Koenji. Thank you for the meal.

3 kinds of curry: Pork Vindaloo, Swordfish Fish, Keema for 1300 yen. I arrived at the restaurant on a weekday at 12:56, and my order was served in about 10 minutes. The atmosphere with music and decor has a foreign charm and is very lovely. I had tried to visit before at night but couldn't get in because it was reserved. Finally, I was able to dine in this time. All the dishes had a spicy edge to them, with a well-balanced blend of spices, and were very delicious. The Achar was also excellent. I would like to come back next time and try the same dishes with extra spice.

I was able to enter without waiting in line as I visited before 12 o'clock. It was South Indian curry. It was delicious without any strong flavors. The owner seems to be Japanese. Indian curry made by Japanese people is often easy for Japanese to eat. The interior of the restaurant was also stylish and nice.

After moving to Mizutobashi, I finally had the chance to try the weekday lunch that I hadn't tried before. Despite facing several obstacles due to the timing of temporary closures, I was finally able to visit Indian Fujiko in High-Koenji. It has a completely different atmosphere from the traditional Japanese-style izakaya in High-Koenji, with a modern concrete cafe-bar vibe. Today's curry options included four types: (Spicy) Pork Vindaloo, Saoji Chicken, Fish, and Sambal. I opted for a combination of two curries for 1100 yen. The Fish curry had a perfect balance of coconut creaminess and a sharp saltiness, while the Chicken curry was spicy and creamy with a strong saltiness. The chef's attention to detail was evident in the slightly firm and fluffy basmati rice, as well as the subtle side dishes like wet onion achar, bitter gourd, and lightly salted eggplant. Each bite of the curry dish seemed to encapsulate the chef's culinary journey, making it a truly enjoyable experience. I also tried the Ice Chai, a subtly sweet and milky dessert drink with a hint of tea flavor, which was also available for takeout. In a neighborhood where unique establishments like Momo no Mi and Dylan are closing down, Indian Fujiko stands out as a rare gem where you can encounter authentic flavors and a distinctive ambiance.

I went there before, but it was closed for temporary closure. After checking, it seems that temporary closures are common. When they close for lunch, they announce it on Twitter in advance, and on days when there is no prior notice (not their regular closing day), I think they are open for lunch (maybe they announce it after opening?). From left to right, there were pork, chicken, and fish (shark) curry. I like the visual of spice curry where multiple curries are poured over the rice, so I tried to do that, but the curry bowls were hot, so I gave up. I scooped a little bit with a spoon and poured it over the rice to eat. The fish curry and pickled eggplant were especially delicious. The coriander in the chicken curry was a nice touch (even though I don't like coriander, it was within my tolerance). As I kept eating, the bowls cooled down, and the curry decreased, making it easier to hold, so I mixed the remaining curries, but since it was halfway eaten, I didn't take a picture. There was a pork zone, a chicken zone, a fish zone, and a side dish zone, and they gradually mixed together. It was like a mandala. In other words, it was the world. Curry is basically the world. In the end, I mixed everything together and ended the world.

I thought that Indofujiko, with its impactful name and rave reviews from curry enthusiasts, would be a very quirky and niche restaurant. It's also difficult to visit as it's only open during weekday lunch hours. After years of wanting to go, I finally managed to visit. I arrived at 12:40 on a weekday and was able to get a seat easily as several customers were leaving. If I had arrived 10 minutes later, I might have been turned away due to it being full. The menu offers a choice of a 2-curry plate for 1100 yen or a 3-curry plate for 1300 yen. I chose the pork vindaloo and chicken for my 2-curry plate. It was a bit underwhelming as it was just a normal curry plate with a generous portion of patty simmered rice and 3 types of pickles. It was still delicious though. However, compared to Eating Vice President or Neconbo 33, it might be slightly disappointing due to high expectations. The customers seemed to be mostly office ladies, so it didn't seem like a spot frequented by curry enthusiasts. This is in contrast to nearby Rice Curry Manten, which is mostly male customers. Overall, it's a cozy and nice restaurant. Thank you for the meal.

Pork Vindaloo and Chicken Curry combo for 1100 yen. Both dishes are packed with meat and have a spicy and flavorful taste. The rice is thin and fluffy, perfectly complementing the curry. The side dishes are also great, and the one on the far right was a fresh watermelon. The portion size for the combo is generous and the price is very reasonable. I love this kind of restaurant, it makes me happy. I visited on a weekday before 1 pm and was able to get a table easily.

I finally had the opportunity to visit this restaurant that I had been curious about since the Koenji days, but never had the chance to go before they moved to Suidobashi. Located on the 2nd floor of a mixed-use building about a 3-minute walk from Suidobashi Station East Exit, you enter the restaurant directly from an outside staircase. Even before you can see the restaurant, the smell of curry is so delicious that you can't help but be convinced that it must be amazing. The restaurant opens at 12:00 pm and I arrived 15 minutes early, there was no line. Since the sign was not yet out on the street, I waited on the outside staircase, and about a minute after noon, a staff member came out with the sign and menu blackboard. After placing the sign on the street and the menu on the staircase railing, the staff member then came to the entrance and said, "Thank you for waiting" and guided me inside. The interior of the restaurant has an L-shaped counter surrounding the kitchen, a straight counter facing the wall, and table seating by the window. The concrete walls and shelves lined with old books give the place a cozy atmosphere, with plenty of natural light coming in through the windows, and the well-worn furniture makes it a comfortable place to relax for lunch or a casual evening out. This time, I was seated at a table at the back of the counter in front of the kitchen. The menu is presented on a blackboard and verbally by the staff. You can choose 2 or 3 types of curry in order of spiciness: Pork Vindaloo, Saoji Chicken, Fish (cod), and Dal Curry. There are no set menus for drinks, but you can order them separately. I ordered a set of 3 curries in order of spiciness and a medium-sized draft beer. The beer arrived first, and the curry came about 6-7 minutes later. ● The draft beer was served in a Sapporo glass from the tap. Beer tastes even better when you drink it during the day. ● The curry was served on a white plate. The basmati rice with papadum on top, a silver cup of curry in the back, and 4 side dishes in front. ● Fish Curry... This was my first time trying fish curry, and it was delicious! It had a scent and richness similar to fish sauce, with a hint of coconut, and it was really tasty. Among the 3 types, this one had the most saltiness, but not much spiciness. The cod was tender and flaky, and it went well with the curry. ● Saoji Chicken... This curry had a distinct spicy and oily flavor, with a clean and refreshing taste. It was completely different from the Fish Curry but equally delicious. This one also wasn't very spicy. The large pieces of what seemed to be chicken breast were tender and well-cooked. ● Pork Vindaloo... A red-black curry with a tangy flavor. The chunks of pork belly were cooked until they were tender and juicy. The deep aroma of spices combined with the tanginess made it very tasty. This one had the most spiciness of the three, but it was within a range that was still enjoyable. ● The curries were delicious on their own, but mixing them together added depth and changed the flavors, creating a plate that was satisfying and never boring until the last bite. ● It was a bit disappointing that there was no explanation of the side dishes, but there was tangy purple cabbage, zucchini in coconut dressing, cucumber and red onion in yogurt dressing (raita), and diced sweet potatoes(?). Mixing these with the curry made it even more delicious. Eating the curry with the rice topped with yogurt from the raita was really delicious. Each curry suited my taste preferences, and I was very satisfied with my lunch. I discovered the deliciousness of mixing meat and fish curry. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I moved from Koenji to Suidobashi and visited for the first time since the relocation. By the way, Indofujiko is the name of the curry restaurant during the day, and at night it becomes Indofuji, a spice izakaya. The curry still has a gentle and delicious taste with a perfect balance of spices, and now they have added more variety to the menu such as baba ghanoush, tapenade sauce, ceviche, pasta, and other Middle Eastern and Asian dishes, making it even more versatile and easy to enjoy with drinks. I made a reservation via email on the same day and arrived at the opening time of 6 pm on Saturday. There were about 3 other groups besides us. By the time we left, the place was about 80% full. Here is what we ordered: - Assorted appetizers (Cauliflower with tapenade sauce, Zucchini ceviche, Sautéed lamb tart) for 1,100 yen - Taiwan pineapple and Turkish white cheese for 900 yen - Cold potage soup with wild vegetables for 300 yen - Stir-fried lamb with garlic for 1,500 yen - Fish curry (snack) for 800 yen - Drinks (Ricard and absinthe soda, Doville (beer with homemade spice syrup), Pineapple lassi) for various prices The total bill came to 7,500 yen. It was reasonable and all the dishes were delicious and perfect for light drinking. Thank you for the meal!

The atmosphere inside the restaurant feels like they would have natural wines. The Indian Fujiko Sour was delicious with a strong ginger and spice flavor. It was the first time I was so impressed by a drink. The Pork Vindaloo had a deep richness like beef stew, followed by a strong spiciness. The Chicken and Scallion Cream Stew was exceptionally delicious, a dish you could eat forever. They also had pasta at night. It was the most stylish space with the best food.

Located in the Jimbocho and Suidobashi area, this Indian curry restaurant has an interesting history. It all started with "Indo Fuji" in Higashi-Koganei, which then evolved into "Indo Fujiko" in Koenji, and finally moved to Suidobashi where it stands today. The owner and chef, Masaki Kojou, gained experience working at the renowned European curry restaurant "Mamekura" during his university years. He then went on to work for a company that operated cafes and catering services. In 2007, he traveled to India to learn about South Indian cuisine, and from 2008 to 2016, he ran the curry restaurant "Indo Fuji" in Higashi-Koganei. In 2015, he opened "Indo Fujiko" in Koenji before relocating to Jimbocho. The restaurant offers authentic South Indian curry dishes such as Pork Vindaloo, Keema Curry, Sambar, Rasam, and Achar. The chef, who has a passion for music and alcohol, has a bar counter with art books on display. The bill must be paid in cash, and the average cost is around 1400 yen per person. The food was delicious - highly recommended!

○Taste The curry here is delicious! They offer a variety of curries lined up in order of spiciness for you to choose from. The spicy curry was quite flavorful with a strong kick of spices! It's a curry that you definitely can't make at home, so it's worth trying at the restaurant. It comes with plenty of colorful and cute side dishes, which you can enjoy with the curry, allowing for a change in taste and making it delicious until the end. You can help yourself to water, which I personally prefer in curry restaurants as it's more convenient without having to call a server each time. ○Atmosphere The interior is bright with lots of old books displayed, giving it a cute and cozy cafe-like ambiance. The tables are spacious and comfortable. The restroom is located at the back of the restaurant, and although it would be nice if it were a bit cleaner, considering the vintage feel of the place, it's understandable. ○Distance from Station It's a short walk from Ochanomizu Station. It may not be suitable for those who prefer restaurants right by the station, but it's within walking distance. I would definitely like to visit this place again!

■Previous Information on Tabelog: 3.36 (23/01)■Overall Impression: I heard about this place through a net article and decided to visit after confirming the location in advance. I was surprised to find a curry restaurant in such an unexpected location, hidden away on the second floor of a renovated building like a secret base. I ordered three types of curry. The curries were served with colorful side dishes, making the meal enjoyable in itself. Each curry had a distinct spice blend that showed attention to detail. However, they were a bit too authentic and catered more towards curry enthusiasts. I feel like I need to refine my palate a bit more before revisiting.■Order: Three types of curry (pork, chicken, fish)■Interior: The restaurant had a dim but atmospheric ambiance.■Crowdedness: Visited on a weekday at 1 pm. No lines, only about two groups inside.■Service: The service was good.

Located about 3 minutes from Mizusawa Bridge, this restaurant is one I visited during my time in Koenji. I went around 12 o'clock on a weekday and although there were a few customers already, the place quickly filled up. I ordered the Pork Vindaloo and Fish curry set for ¥1,100. The Pork Vindaloo had a nice tangy flavor and the meat was tender. The Fish curry had a delicious seafood taste. The side dishes were also very tasty. Eating the curry with rice was also very delicious. Thank you for the meal!

After enjoying a live performance by Kuwata Keisuke at the Tokyo Dome on Saturday, I visited this restaurant for a late dinner. The restaurant had moved from Koenji over a year ago, and I couldn't believe how quickly time had passed. I arrived around 8:50 pm, with only 9 other customers present. I sat at the counter after sanitizing my hands and looked at the menu. I ordered a medium draft beer for 600 yen, a set of 3 appetizers for 800 yen (I chose the lotus root with lemon butter sauce, sweet potato poliyal, and alu gobi), and Chicken 65. The server asked me if I wanted the large or small portion of Chicken 65, even though the menu didn't specify sizes. I assumed they meant the small size since the Chicken Curry was listed as small for 800 yen. When I confirmed that I wanted the Chicken Sixty-Five, the server corrected me to say they had small and large sizes. When I checked the menu, it indeed listed small for 800 yen and large for 1,400 yen, so I ordered the small size. The draft beer arrived quickly, and the set of appetizers came about 15 minutes later. The lotus root with lemon butter sauce had an interesting spice mix, with a hint of fennel. I couldn't really taste the lemon butter, though. The sweet potato poliyal was subtly sweet, and the alu gobi was spicy and delicious. After finishing my beer, I ordered an Indian Fuji Sour for 600 yen. The drink arrived promptly, but the Chicken 65 took a while. When I asked about it, the server said it was taking some time. After about 50 minutes since ordering, the Chicken 65 finally arrived. It had a nice balance of acidity, spiciness, cumin, and black pepper, making it a great accompaniment to drinks. For my main course, I ordered the Saoji Chicken Curry, which arrived after a 12-minute wait. It was served with Indica rice and had a rich, oily sauce. The side dish, similar to pickled daikon, had a tangy flavor with a hint of mustard seeds. The curry was spicy and salty, perfect for a satisfying end to the meal. The portion of chicken was generous, adding to the meal's hearty feel. The total bill came to 3,600 yen, and they only accepted cash payments. I plan to visit for lunch next time. Thank you for the meal.

(Visited in early November 2022) This was a weekday lunch. I decided to stroll around Sarugaku-cho and finally visited a curry restaurant that had caught my attention before. I arrived around 1:00 PM, with 4 customers already seated and 6 more coming in later. After entering, I was greeted with a "hello" and took a seat at the available counter. I ordered the 2-curry plate for 1,000 yen, choosing Pork Vindaloo and Fish (Autumn Salmon). The curry plate was served in just 2 minutes, surprising me with its speed! On a white plate, there were two curries in small dishes. In the middle was basmati rice. On the side, there were two types of achar, and on the other side, a subji with potatoes and spinach, I think? A papadum was placed on top of the rice. I first tried the subji, which turned out to be quite delicious. Indian cuisine is really fascinating. Now, onto the curries. Both were topped with cilantro (sigh). The Pork Vindaloo was dark red and thick. I managed to salvage it from the cilantro (laughs). When I tasted it, there was a strong spice aroma, followed by a mild acidity and then the heat kicked in. The level of spiciness was like COCO Ichibanya's level 3. There was plenty of pork, but it seemed to be pork belly. The fatty part was sweet and incredibly tender. The curry itself aside, the meat was amazing! The Fish curry was like a shabu-shabu soup curry. Failed to salvage it from the cilantro (sigh). Inside, there were lots of onions and salmon. When I tasted it, the spice level was mild. There was a hint of sweetness, a solid richness, and finally, the cilantro aroma arrived. Ignoring the cilantro, this curry was really delicious. Personally, I recommend the Fish curry! It would be even better with a bit more spiciness. As for the basmati rice, it had a unique aroma. The rice itself was shiny and had a firm elasticity, cooked slightly on the harder side. It's great! It seems like the rice was soaked well before cooking. I'd love to try making fried rice with this rice. Overall, I had a pretty tasty curry. In terms of portion size, it's a bit on the smaller side, more like a ladies' size. For me, it was just right. Thank you for the meal.
