Visited at 2:30 PM on March 3, 2022. Today was my beloved daughter's high school graduation ceremony. My son also came to join us, and the three of us visited "Konaya" together. My daughter loves udon, so I chose "Konaya" for her. We are familiar with their curry udon retort packs sold in supermarkets, so it was our first time trying the real thing. Actually, it was what I was looking forward to the most (laughs). There are various toppings to choose from, but we all decided to go for the curry series. I ordered the "Beef Tendon Curry Udon ¥1,550" with a "Large Size ¥160" and "Fried Mochi Topping ¥170". My daughter ordered the "Angel Shrimp Tempura Udon (with Curry Soup) ¥1,380", and my son ordered the "Seasonal Mixed Tempura Curry Udon ¥1,550". As usual, I ended up eating the most. The restaurant has glass windows, so people outside can see you eating, but the narrow alley makes it not too bothersome. The place has been renovated and has a feminine touch, with only female staff. It's a bright and beautiful place, suitable for dining alone as well. The dishes were ready in about 10 minutes. I asked my daughter and son to wait while I took photos, as they understand my only enjoyment. Now, we finally tasted the real "Konaya". The soup was quite similar to the retort version. A delicious curry flavor that is not too spicy. The retort packs come with a spice adjustment powder, but if you like it spicy, adding shichimi togarashi is recommended. My daughter and son have been eating it since they were young, so they preferred the original taste without adding anything. The udon was smooth and soft, perfect for absorbing the curry soup. It lacked firmness, but it was just right for curry udon. The beef tendon went well with the curry, and dipping the fried mochi made it even more delicious. The difference in taste between the real thing and the retort pack was noticeable, and both my children appreciated it. Eating with my children always makes the meal taste better, with an extra special touch that you can't experience dining alone. I'm glad we chose "Konaya" today. It was a very enjoyable time. Located a 15-minute walk from Sugamo Station on Jizo Street, this is a top-notch curry udon spot. Even if you love curry but aren't motivated by the idea of curry soup with udon, I urge you to try it here. Unlike curry nanban or curry udon broth from a school cafeteria, this curry soup is a perfect match for the udon. It's rich, mild, and not at all bland. The way it clings to the noodles is just perfect. The best curry udon I've ever had in my life. I have yet to find a curry udon that surpasses what they serve here at Furuya. The owner is also lovely. I will definitely be going back!

The interior of the shop, with both counter and table seats, is easy to use even for large groups. [Interior] The interior, with a wood-based theme, feels very clean. The staff also seemed friendly and provided good service. [Menu] Seasonal Vegetable Curry Udon ¥1350, Kujo Negi Tempura Curry Udon ¥1280 [Notes] It was very delicious. Despite being curry udon, it has a creamy texture that makes it very easy to eat. The interaction with the Kujo Negi was also wonderful. However, I felt the prices were a bit high. The service and taste were great, so I didn't feel dissatisfied, but paying over 1000 yen for udon is a bit painful... [Repeat] I often go to Sugamo, so I would like to visit again.

I went to the main branch for the first time, and the taste was familiar from the branch and retort products. The shop was smaller than I expected, but the inside was very clean and the staff were friendly. I enjoyed my meal alone. I visited for lunch around 2 pm on a weekday. This is the main store located right next to the Togenuki Jizo in Sugamo shopping street. It was my first time visiting since the renovation, and the interior was spacious and clean, with no waiting time. It was a very hot day, so I wanted to eat cold udon and was intrigued by the banana tempura, so I ordered the following: - Cold Banana Tempura Curry Udon for 1,520 yen The banana tempura was surprisingly good with the curry, and I enjoyed it more than I expected. It came with a dessert jelly, and I also bought some curry-flavored udon snacks from the shop to take home. They were delicious too, so they would make a good souvenir.

I was hesitant in the hot weather, but I went to Konaya Sugamo Honten. They had cold curry udon, but I prefer hot curry udon, so I ordered Negi Curry Udon, Kakiage, and Bagna Cauda rice. The curry udon was not spicy or hot, but creamy and mild. The udon was not too firm or too soft, just normal. The addition of fried leeks added a nice fragrance. The kakiage, when placed on the rice and topped with curry, was the most delicious combination. The Bagna Cauda was also delicious, although the eggplant skin was a bit bothersome. After several years, I used the lunch service and surprisingly there were empty seats during lunchtime! I decided on the seasonal menu, cold curry udon with fresh vegetables! They provided paper aprons. The carrots were sweet and delicious! The eggplant was quite thin, but deep-fried it was still delicious! The meal was colorful and surprisingly filling, leaving me satisfied. Thank you for the meal.

After visiting the Thorn-Removing Jizo statue, I stopped by this place. It's really close and easy to find from the statue. I ordered the soup with chopped green onions, fried tempura, and fried mochi topping. The soup was creamy and very delicious. I drank it all up... (laughs) Next time, I might try a different topping.

I visited the main branch of the famous creamy curry udon restaurant, Furuya. The restaurant is located right next to the Togenuki Jizo in Otsuka, making it easy to find with a great atmosphere. It was very hot, so I decided to try the cold season kakiage curry udon. The soup had the well-known creamy curry flavor. The crispy kakiage on top of the cold and refreshing curry udon was a perfect match, allowing me to enjoy a unique curry udon experience.

We visited as a family for an early dinner. It was our first time at Shokunoya. The restaurant had a beautiful interior that I think would appeal to women as well. They provided cushions for the children and gave us a warm welcome. We ordered the Angel Shrimp and Rice Cake Curry Udon for 1,880 yen. The shrimp tempura was served separately. When I bit into it, it was very juicy, and the legs were delicate like tempura shrimp from a tempura shop, very delicious. The udon noodles were slightly thin with a good chewy texture and a smooth throat feel. The soup was rich in spices and slightly thick. When I tried to share some with my children, the owner kindly suggested adding milk to it, and she provided us with some milk. It was a delightful experience, and we couldn't help but keep saying how delicious it was even after we finished. Thank you for the meal.

I recommend ordering the simple curry udon with a side of ginger rice. The creamy curry soup with a hint of spice paired with the chewy udon noodles is delicious. It's like watching a technical pro wrestling match by Yoshiaki Yatsu. It's a perfect combination, just like Misawa saying, "I want to team up with Yatsu." Yatsu responds, "Are you sure you want me?" Misawa says, "Yes, I want you." It's the birth of the Untouchables! And with a small package hold, it's a three-count for the win.

I visited the main store for the first time in about 15 years. I had the seasonal kakiage curry udon with cheese topping for 1850 yen, and the kujyo negi kizami age curry udon with ginger rice for 1650 yen. The curry was milky and mellow, but also had a spicy kick to it. The noodles were slightly thin with a good firmness that allowed the sauce to cling well. It was a bit sharper than Senkichi. The chopped fried toppings were nice. The green onions may not have been necessary. The ginger rice could have been a bit firmer. Maybe barley rice would be a good match. I was satisfied with my visit to the old Nanya. It used to have long lines, but now it feels a bit lonely. The cost performance was always a bit iffy. With the disappearance of branches in various places like Nihonbashi, I hope the main store will do well. Thank you for the meal. It was delicious. The shaved ice next to me seems to be popular even in winter. I'll come back in the summer.

I went to a curry udon restaurant near the Togenuki Jizo Son in Sugamo. There's also Yuki Hana nearby, famous for its shaved ice. If you get too cold from the shaved ice, you can warm up here. The restaurant is always popular and can have long lines, so I was curious to try it. After visiting Togenuki Jizo Son, I went there. It was crowded, but I got in fairly quickly, which was lucky. The atmosphere inside is bright and new, which is nice. I had trouble deciding among the various types of curry udon, but I ended up choosing the regular one since it was my first time. My partner had the banana tempura, which is a specialty here. The curry udon was very creamy and smooth, with a rich flavor, and it was really delicious. It's the best curry udon I've ever had! However, the banana tempura was a bit sweet and had a unique taste. After finishing the noodles, I ordered extra rice and it was also very tasty! It was a double delight for me. It's a bit pricey, but I would definitely like to come back. It's great for summer or on cold days in winter. I wonder where I'll go for my next meal. Bucobuco buco~ (^・∞・^)

I have visited this place many times but haven't left a review yet, so here it is. The main branch, which I visited after a long time, has expanded its seating area by taking over the neighboring Chinese restaurant. The seasonal tempura included small fish, greens, sweet potatoes, and mushrooms. I added a topping of minced meat since it was available as a side dish. It seems like the spices have been toned down compared to before, maybe to cater to the elderly population in the area.
