In the previous article, I mentioned that overwhelmingly I love soba noodles. However, here is an article about udon noodles haha. I usually don't eat udon noodles much, and when I do, it's usually just curry udon. But this udon was so delicious! The place to enjoy it is "Kura Shichidaime Matsugoro". It's a casual dining spot where you can also enjoy sukiyaki, tapas, and wine. The other dishes are also delicious, so it's worth checking out. You can even enjoy a solo meal or a casual drink at the counter without ordering a hot pot. Starting a bit late this day, I had a well-deserved cheers with sparkling wine. The beef tendon and cabbage dish with large chunks of beef tendon was amazing. The sweetness of the cabbage combined with the tender beef tendon was irresistible. I love tofu, so they brought out tofu for me (just kidding). They served me cold tofu made with cotton tofu, which allows you to fully taste the tofu's flavor. The grilled pork belly was served Samgyeopsal style. The juicy pork belly was sweet and delicious, even the fat part. Lastly, I had the "Black Wagyu Shabu-Shabu Udon" as the finishing touch. A large piece of rib roast sits on a shallow bowl...! The high-quality meat can even be eaten raw. Pouring the hot broth over the meat, it cooks gently. Instead of searing with fire, the meat is cooked perfectly by the hot broth. When you put your chopsticks in, the meat easily falls apart and the light broth is a perfect match. The chewy udon noodles combined with the sweetness of the meat juices create an elegant dish. I feel like I could eat this udon endlessly. As we approach the season, heartwarming dishes, moments, and spaces become more precious. I may not like the cold winter, but let's overcome it with delicious food and drinks. Thank you for the meal!

Located a little ways up Dogenzaka from Shibuya Station, this quiet restaurant in Jinbocho offers both counter and private seating. Today, I visited with a craving for "Gyusuki Nabe" (beef sukiyaki), but was recommended to try the tapas first. There are about 100 types of tapas and around 80 types of wine available here. - Appetizer: Raw cabbage with special mayonnaise sauce containing miso. The sauce was so delicious that I ended up asking for more. - Beef Carpaccio: Recommended by the restaurant, this dish had a Mediterranean feel with balsamic, pepper, olives, and rock salt. The meat was tender and flavorful, a unique and delicious carpaccio. - Fried Potatoes with Truffle Butter: The truffle-infused butter was incredibly tasty and addictive. - Lobster and Avocado Ebi Mayo: Large lobster chunks with avocado and tobiko mixed in, a unique and flavorful dish. The tapas were all delicious, making it hard to resist ordering more. However, I stuck to my plan and tried the Gyusuki Nabe. The shallow pot was filled with plenty of beef ribs and a generous amount of shungiku (chrysanthemum greens). The dish was prepared by steaming the ingredients without adding water, and then the server warmed up a plate of sirloin with the broth. The meat was almost rare and melted in the mouth. The vegetables and tofu in the pot were also flavorful, and the udon noodles served as the finishing touch. This was a unique way to enjoy beef, different from sukiyaki or yakiniku, and it was incredibly delicious.

Shibuya seems to have a lot of restaurants like this! It's not bad, but if you're going to spend 4000 yen on sukiyaki, I think places like Shabuzen might offer even more delicious food. However, this place has a variety of other menu options, like Chinese-style meat and à la carte dishes, which is nice. The atmosphere isn't the best, but the staff were really friendly. They seemed very busy, with just two people working, so it looked like a tough job.

One month ago, I visited this place alone for a preview, and today I came with 4 older gentlemen. We used a semi-private 4-person booth and enjoyed eating and drinking for about 3 hours. We ordered various dishes, and the total bill came to 31,141 yen for 4 people, which I think is a good value for money. Today, I wanted to eat the "Special Plum Sukiyaki" and waited for the right moment to order it. The older gentlemen tend to focus more on drinking once they reach a certain point, so I placed the order just before we were too full. Even though there were 4 of us, we ordered enough for 2 people, and it was a satisfying portion. We started with thinly sliced rare beef wrapped in lettuce, topped with crispy plum and egg. This was a key item that stimulated our appetite for the next course. Finally, the main hotpot arrived. The meat was flavorful, and the acidity of the plum was perfect for the hot summer. It complemented the meat well! While some dishes may be more geared towards younger people, I think older gentlemen can also enjoy them. Thank you for the meal.

We visited a restaurant near Kansen Station where four men over 60 could dine in a private room for our field research. The menu had a wide variety of dishes. The Black Wagyu Carpaccio was outstanding with its rareness. The cheese and sauce were rich, not light, but very enjoyable. The drinks also showed attention to detail. I made a reservation and visited the restaurant. I thought the name of the restaurant would be in kanji and serve Japanese cuisine, but the menu had a wide variety of dishes and drinks. The staff carefully prepared it on a gas stove, starting with rare sirloin wrapped in leeks, followed by rib roast sukiyaki. This was the recommended way to enjoy it at this restaurant. The eggs were from Okukuji, and the meat was tender and substantial. It was very satisfying. I heard that they finish it without using water, using the moisture from the vegetables, which left a lasting impression. The drink menu was also extensive. I had about three glasses of wine. There were so many types of wine to choose from that it was fun just picking one. Many of the wines were easy to enjoy, and the pricing made me want to come back again. After walking a little from the top of Dogenzaka, there is a restaurant. The interior of the restaurant was mostly empty except for private rooms, which made me a bit uneasy on a weekend. The food was just average. Unfortunately, because it was hot outside, I couldn't try their main dish, which seemed to be a hot pot. I visited the restaurant after seeing it on social media, but honestly, it gave me the impression of being just an ordinary place that you can find anywhere. However, the quiet atmosphere inside allowed me to enjoy my meal peacefully. As for whether I would go back again, I would say it was neither good nor bad, so, yeah, that's my honest impression!

On a holiday, I had dinner at Shibuya Jinbocho. I remembered how delicious it was when I went to the solo shabu-shabu Matsugoro's Akasaka store before, so I decided to try it again. This restaurant is located near Jinbocho Station on the upper part of Dogenzaka. It's a calm area a little away from the hustle and bustle of Shibuya. The interior of the restaurant was clean and comfortable. I ordered: - Black Wagyu beef red meat carpaccio 1,480 yen - Salmon, shrimp, and avocado tartare 980 yen - Truffle butter fried potatoes 740 yen - Special plum suki hot pot 3,980 yen - Finishing somen 300 yen - Frozen mojito 700 yen - Cassis bubbles 700 yen - Apple juice 400 yen First, cheers with the frozen mojito!! It feels cool because it was hot outside. It's refreshing with plenty of sweet mango! There were plenty of fruit cocktails using fruit mojitos and sparkling wine. I'll have the special mayonnaise sauce and cabbage with the appetizer. The black Wagyu beef carpaccio is tender and full of flavor of red meat. ~Matsumonro 7th Generation~ A restaurant in Shibuya where both adults and children can enjoy! We had a party here. Our famous specialty, the selected beef sukiyaki, is delicious with the tender wagyu beef. The well-cooked daikon radish in it is also very tasty. The refillable cabbage with homemade sauce is delightful. The homemade truffle butter fried potatoes are amazing, with the truffle butter adding a great flavor. The tobiko and creamy pickled daikon radish have a wonderful texture. The lobster and avocado with shrimp mayo is delicious, with the plump shrimp and avocado. The udon noodles at the end are delicious with a good texture. The interior is stylish with a lovely orange-themed space. There are private rooms and counter seats available. The manager is very nice and has come up with various menu items. We enjoyed a great time with about 80 types of wine and about 100 types of dishes. Thank you for the feast!

I visited "Chuu Shichidaime Matsugoro" located near Dogenzaka. It's been a while since my last visit. This place is my go-to for delicious and affordable sukiyaki. They also offer a wide variety of tapas-like dishes which are enjoyable. While sitting at the counter is nice and casual, this time we opted for a private room for our girls' night out. It's great to be able to try a variety of dishes when dining with a group. We snacked on crispy green peppers with spicy minced meat (500 yen!) and truffle butter fried potatoes (680 yen) while sipping on chuhai with lemon. The luxurious torotaku with plenty of fish roe (1280 yen) was a hit, but my favorite was the avocado and shrimp mayo with lobster (1680 yen). The visual impact was impressive, and the plump shrimp and large avocado slices were creamy and delightful. For the main dish, we had the popular special beef sukiyaki (3980 yen). The first bite of the sirloin, finished by the staff, was melt-in-your-mouth delicious! Then, we slowly cooked the meat with vegetables steaming in their own juices. The flavor of burdock added a nice touch. For dessert, we tried the buzz-worthy frosted black beef shabu-shabu udon (1980 yen) that everyone raves about on Twitter. It's a must-try dish. A large rib roast sits atop the udon, with hot broth poured over it. It's a foolproof dish. Tonight was another night of delicious dining!

I was invited by a friend to a girls' night out. We had a great time in a private room, chatting and laughing! We toasted with the recommended Strawberry Mojito from Chuzo Shichidaime Matsugoro, which was so cute! The cabbage appetizer was free for refills, which was refreshing. I loved the combination of lobster and avocado, topped with raw bell peppers and chicken. The Toro Taku was also delicious! We enjoyed some Hashed Potatoes as a snack. For the main course, we had the special beef sukiyaki, which was Instagram-worthy and beautifully marbled. It made me happy to see my favorite spring chrysanthemum in the pot. The staff even prepared the first bite for us! The beef shabu-shabu udon for dessert was also delicious. We also had Mango Mojitos. The restaurant is conveniently located in Shibuya Mark City. The staff were friendly and lovely.
