There is a wonderful bakery in such a place. It has high ratings on Tabelog, so there's no reason not to go.
- Sunflower Seed Bread (Name Unknown): The gentle dough is simple, allowing the deliciousness of the sunflower seeds to stand out.
- Petit Bread (Name Unknown): I like the feeling of tearing into the bread, and it turned out to be softer and more moist than I expected. It has a salty taste that is delicious even without any toppings.
- Red Bean and Cream Cheese Bread (Name Unknown): The balance of red bean and cheese on the sprouted grain dough is just right. The carefulness of the maker is evident from one end to the other.

While exploring bakeries near Gotanda Station, I came across this shop with high ratings on Tabelog and decided to give it a try. The bakery was tucked away in a hidden location, with a sign outside boasting the use of carefully selected ingredients. I purchased the cream bun for ¥300 and the tuna and egg bun for ¥300. The staff, though, seemed aloof and provided minimal service, making the atmosphere a bit awkward. However, I took my purchases home.
Regarding the cream bun, it was incredibly soft and fluffy, possibly the best I've had. The bun itself was tasty, but the cream filling seemed a bit lacking in quantity. The cream had a rich egg flavor, but it was slightly firm and had a rough texture, lacking the expected vanilla bean richness. As for the tuna and egg bun, the tuna mayo flavor overpowered the taste of the bun, and the emphasis on high-quality ingredients was not very apparent. The small size of the buns and their relatively high prices, like the ¥450 croissant, may deter some customers. Overall, while the buns were enjoyable, the pricing and portion size could be off-putting for some customers.

Visited on Friday around 14:10. After purchasing bread at "Panetteria Arietta," I decided to visit a few more shops since I was already in Gotanda. I came across this bakery with high ratings and comments like "hidden gem" and "off the beaten path." Upon entering, I found the place empty and quickly made my selections. All the bread looked delicious, so I went with the recommended items: - Pandomi (half loaf) 240 yen - Croissant 450 yen - Cream Pan 300 yen - Banana Muffin 450 yen Total: 1,440 yen. - Pandomi: The most popular item here, and I can see why. It had a chewy texture and a hint of sweetness. - Croissant: A signature item of the bakery. The dough was moist, and the buttery flavor was delightful. - Cream Pan: Visually appealing and delicious. The dough was chewy, and the custard cream had just the right amount of sweetness. - Banana Muffin: I love banana muffins, so I had to try this. The moist texture and strong banana flavor made it a great choice. Overall, everything was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

It's a small shop on a quiet street in Gotanda. I bought a baguette and a cream puff. The baguette is thick. I tried eating it sliced without toasting it. The crust was not too crispy, and the crumb was soft and chewy. It seems like it would be good for sandwiches. The cream puff is small but tall. The custard cream is delicate, and the bread is moist and soft. It's a nice snack.

A cute bakery in Gotanda that has been in business for over 10 years. The female owner, who has a background as a French pastry chef, makes bread that is easy to eat for both children and adults. The prices of the bread are not too high. The store has a calm atmosphere with beautifully displayed fluffy and soft bread and pastries. One of their items is a mini sprouted wheat baguette for 220 yen, which is egg, dairy, and oil-free and low in sugar. It is more like a soft bread than a baguette, very soft and moist with a chewy texture. The saltiness is just right, and it is easy to eat without too much of a sprouted wheat texture.

On a regular rainy day around noon, I was able to enter the shop without having to wait. By 12:30, when the baguettes are ready, there is a handwritten sign inside the shop. They only offer takeout, no seating available. As mentioned in other reviews, photography is not allowed inside or outside the shop. The service is cold, with the staff seeming reluctant to even greet customers. I wonder why they are in a customer service role. The croissants and pain au chocolat are each 400 yen. They charge for bags at the register, and only accept cash payments.

I visited this bakery, "BAKERY SUGI-NO-KI," located about a 12-13 minute walk from Gotanda Station East Exit for the first time. I arrived on a Saturday just before 5 PM and was able to enter smoothly. Most of the bread had already sold out by that time, so I had to choose from the remaining 2-3 options, which was a bit disappointing. I purchased a white bread (chocolate) for ¥160 and a sprouted wheat baguette (mini) for ¥220. The white bread (chocolate) was moist with chocolate chips scattered throughout, and not too sweet, making it quite delicious. The sprouted wheat baguette (mini) was a hard bread but not too tough, making it easy to eat. Overall, the shop had a rule against taking photos of the interior and exterior, and the store itself was not very spacious. Since I visited expecting items to be sold out, I was just glad to make a purchase. The staff was not very friendly, so it's best not to expect much in terms of service. Thank you for the meal! I would visit again if I have the chance.

I bought some night bread at "Suginoki" in Gotanda. It's a small bakery located in a alley on the north side of Sony Street. I purchased a pizza bun for 300 yen, an anpan for 300 yen, and a cream bun for 350 yen. There were several types of pizza buns available, but I chose the one with bacon. It also had corn, onion, and cream sauce. The thick slice of bacon used generously in the bun provided a satisfying taste. The anpan had sweet red bean paste inside a soft white dough. The cream bun, made with the same dough, had different options like custard cream, custard cream with baked apple, and more. I chose the latter, which had a perfect mix of sweet custard and tart, crunchy apple, making it extra delicious.

A small bakery located a little away from the station. The interior of the store does not allow photography. Overall, they have a variety of small-sized bread.
- Cream Pan (¥280 including tax): The second most popular pastry. The fluffy and chewy dough is filled with plenty of custard cream. It has a strong egg flavor but is not too sweet. (By the way, the most popular item is the croissant.)
- Kaiser Semmel (¥120 including tax): A mini bread with sunflower seeds sprinkled on top of the Pan de Mie dough. Enjoy the chewy bread and crunchy sunflower seeds together. It has a hint of saltiness.

Recommended for those who like home-baked bread, fluffy and chewy bread, smooth bread like a drink, and Heidi's white bread. Not recommended for those who do not appreciate these types of bread. Google reviews mention various things about the staff's attitude, and it's true that the somewhat indifferent demeanor doesn't quite match the cute atmosphere of the shop. It's not mean-spirited, but there's a lack of warmth, with transactions feeling very business-like. If this is something that bothers you, be aware. Personally, I prefer the taste and atmosphere here compared to the nearby Arietta. It's a bit further from the station than Arietta, but I think it's worth the extra walk. Cash only. The website is dead and not updated, and they have irregular closing days. (I was turned away once during Obon vacation)

First visit to a bakery. It seems that photography is prohibited inside and outside the store (unconfirmed). The bakery near my home is always sold out of bread by the time I pass by on my way home. Even when I try to buy breakfast on the weekend, they don't open until 11 am, and the baguettes and bread aren't ready until after 12 pm. I don't know who their target customers are with this schedule, especially since it's located in an upscale residential area. Ham and cheese bread (280 yen): Bread wrapped in ham and cheese with sandwich bread. Melon bread (280 yen): The official name is "Very Delicious Melon Bread," but to me, it was just regular melon bread.

It's a bit of a walk from Gotanda Station to the shop. I visited after a long time, and the peculiar tension in the air was still there. I browsed through the bread inside, and there was quite a variety on display that day. They always sell out quickly. Each one is individually wrapped in plastic bags, so it's reassuring. The prices are a bit high, but they were all very delicious.

It was a natural interior. It seemed like brioche was the recommended item, but I didn't buy it. If interior photography is not allowed, the receipt should be properly noted. The dessert cake season for 300 yen, what could this be? Comparing it with the photo, it's probably cream cheese fig. The croissant for 345 yen is expensive. But the taste of everything was good. Speaking of taste alone, I liked this shop better than the nearby Arietta. The staff seemed to be a reserved woman. In shops where photography is prohibited, they tend to be rigid to avoid being attacked like this, I feel. Such shops tend to be very welcoming to regular customers. Maybe they only want local regulars to come. Exterior and interior photography not allowed. Total payment amount 1,145 yen, dessert cake season 300 yen, croissant 345 yen, cream bread 260 yen, cheese France 240 yen. Thank you for the meal.

In a narrow alley, there is a cute bakery! It's a small shop, so be aware that they might sell out quickly. I visited on a weekday after 4:30 pm and there were no other customers. They don't have a wide variety of bread. I'm not sure if it's because of the time or because it's a small shop. It seems like taking photos inside and outside the shop is not allowed. I didn't know this at first, but found out later from other reviews. I accidentally took a photo of the exterior without being told anything. I won't post it here just in case. The shop is cute, but it's a shame. The staff's attitude is a bit off, though. Maybe they only want a limited number of regular customers and that's why they enforce a no photography policy. It's just a guess. [Items purchased] Banana muffin ¥380, White bread with chocolate ¥155, Chestnut and cream cheese ¥300. However, they are delicious! The natural sweetness and moist texture are great. If this shop were nearby, I feel like I would visit often. I'll keep going until I can chat with the staff! (laughs) I wouldn't go out of my way to visit, but I wish there was a shop like this in my neighborhood. That's the kind of shop it is. Thank you for the meal!

I came to Gotanda in December 2020 with the purpose of visiting a bakery. The shop is located a few minutes east of Gotanda Station along Sony Street, and once you turn into the northern alley, you will find it. It's a small shop with a selection of 2-3 types of bread on display. The croissant (345 yen tax included) is made with French AOP butter and Hokkaido wheat. It is not very crispy due to the time that has passed, but it is rich in moisture and buttery. The bread with dried figs and cream cheese (price unknown) is soft, moist, and slightly sweet with a unique texture. The ham, gouda cheese, and mozzarella bread (280 yen tax included) is made with 100% Hokkaido wheat, and has a soft, bouncy texture. The flavors are subtle, allowing the bread itself to shine. Overall, the bakery offers soft, moist, and gentle-flavored bread that may appeal to those who enjoy this type of taste.

The croissant was moist and crispy. Delicious. The chocolate Danish with chestnut on top was also delicious. The fig and cream cheese bread was also delicious. All of them were tasty, but the price was around 400 yen each. In terms of cost performance, it was average. Slightly on the expensive side, but still delicious so average. The location is a short walk from Gotanda Station. Thank you for the meal!

In mid-September, I went shopping at a popular bakery. The shop is located a 7-minute walk from Gotanda Station, tucked away in an old shopping street off the main road. It's a very small shop with a great selection of bread since it was just past lunchtime. I bought the following items for takeout:
- Fromage ¥280
- Cheese and ham croissant ¥380
- Whole wheat petit bread ¥100
I tried them right away. The Fromage had plenty of cheese and paired perfectly with the soft bread. The cheese and ham croissant was rich and made for a great snack with the cheese and ham. The best part was the whole wheat petit bread. When lightly toasted, it had a crispy outside and a fluffy inside with a lovely whole wheat aroma. I enjoyed it with plenty of butter. Next time, I'll go for the toast items. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

About an 8-minute walk from Gotanda Station, this small bakery is located in a residential area. All the bread is wrapped in transparent plastic for safety measures. However, the croissants tend to be a bit soggy, which is disappointing. Here is what was purchased on this day: 1. Croissant for 345 yen - Good butter flavor, but rather dense than fluffy. 2. Kaiser Semmel for 100 yen - Lots of mustard seeds. Light and delicious. 3. Baguette for 340 yen - Soft crust, with a texture similar to a batard. 4. Germ Bread (half) for 350 yen - A chewy bread that is enjoyable for everyday use, although nothing particularly stands out.

Located in a back alley a little off the main street of Gotanda. The place had a quaint exterior, and peeking through the window, I confirmed that they were open for business. It seems that croissants are their specialty. No photography was allowed inside, so I had to rely on memory for the names of the items. The interior was small, so it could probably accommodate 2 people at most, or just 1 person during this time of year. There were no other customers at the time, so I went in and grabbed a pair of tongs. On that day, they mainly had soft bread and muffins. I was considering getting a croissant, but then I noticed a croissant topped with Gorgonzola and walnuts (about 1/3 the size), so I opted for that. The price was around 400 yen. Here are the items I purchased:
- Gorgonzola and walnut croissant: Rich aroma of fresh Gorgonzola with a generous amount, but a bit light on the walnuts. The croissant was incredibly crispy, so much so that pieces were already falling off when I opened it. The texture and lightness of the croissant dough was surprising. Despite its small size, the buttery flavor and aroma slowly seeped out from the inside, blending with the Gorgonzola. The richness of the butter balanced well with the amount of cheese.
- Grape bread: Looks fluffy on the outside but packed with wheat on the inside, giving a chewy and wheaty sweetness. Slightly buttery aroma and a rustic yet high-quality taste. Personally, I prefer a bit more air bubbles in my bread.
- Fig cream cheese: Made with sprouted grain dough and filled with figs and cream cheese. The dough was also chewy, possibly due to the sprouted grain, and had a lighter texture compared to the grape bread. The sweetness of the dough was subtle, allowing the sweetness of the figs to shine through.
- Sprouted grain mini bread: A simple meal bread that I warmed up before eating. Crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside when warmed. Simple yet versatile, perfect for pairing with hamburgers or soups. The bread seemed like it would absorb sauces well. Slightly salty when eaten plain, enhancing the sweetness of the wheat. A rustic meal bread with a unique and pleasant aroma. Next time, I would like to try their croissants and the hard bread that I couldn't get this time.

It is located along a narrow road a few minutes' walk from the main street in Gotanda station. They offer bread with a focus on quality, with a generally light-colored finish. Pan de Mie - 210 yen for half a loaf. Gotanda has many bakeries to choose from, which is nice for picking according to your preferences.
