The town bakery, with its long-standing presence in the shopping district, has a charming appeal. Around 2 p.m. on Saturdays, most of their products are already sold out, but customers are delighted to get their hands on the popular savory bread. Located in Kagurazaka, Ushigome Kagurazaka, Iidabashi, and Edogawabashi.

440 yen for an Ebitama sandwich and a ham sandwich. This place is known for its simple, soft, and delicious sandwiches. They may vary slightly, but that's part of the charm. I hope they continue making the same sandwiches forever. It seems like they recently adjusted their prices.

I wasn't feeling very hungry, so I was thinking of skipping lunch, but then my friend bought me an Egg and Ham sandwich from Nakano-ya. It's been a while since I last had something from Nakano-ya. It looks like a Coppe Pan, but I think it's a soft French bread. The surface has a slightly rough texture. The sandwich is filled with plenty of egg salad and two slices of ham. The soft, chewy bread has a stretchy texture when you bite into it, which really emphasizes its softness. With a generous amount of egg, it might get a bit boring, but the ham provides a different texture and flavor. The lettuce adds a nice touch, suggesting that the moisture level of the French bread is just right. It was pleasantly moist. It was mostly a meeting where I listened to others talk, but I enjoyed eating the sandwich. Sandwiches are really great.

While walking down Jizo Street, I came across a bakery that caught my eye. I decided to try their specialty, the chewy Boule bread, as well as a great value set of four different types of bread for only 350 yen! The Boule bread was indeed chewy and delicious. The set included a croquette bread, curry bread, pizza bread, and mentaiko (spicy cod roe) bread. They were all tasty, especially the generous filling in the croquette bread. Thank you for the meal!

I went again to have the thick egg sandwich that I was craving! The atmosphere of the shop is old-fashioned, and even though the price of wheat flour and eggs has gone up, the egg sandwich is only 210 yen! I am so happy that tears come to my eyes... I hope they continue to do their best! I will visit again!

I have been to Jizo Street shopping street many times and just walking around makes me happy. There are a couple of bakeries nearby as well. I couldn't decide but ended up choosing this shop that caught my eye. I was intrigued by the name "Natto Fry" and the bread with shiratamako (glutinous rice flour). Today, I chose mainly side dishes. The French bread with small dried sardines, okonomiyaki-style bread, and curry bread were all delicious. I had them for dinner and breakfast. The curry bread had cheese on top, which added a nice balance. This is a shop that makes me want to visit again.

Located near Edogawabashi Station, this shop on Jizo Street shopping district seems to be beloved by the locals, as there was a constant flow of people coming in and out. I tried their "Mochimochi Boul 140," a bread made with shiratamako (white rice flour). It's simple, so I had it sandwiched with ingredients like potato salad. The "Aotou Eringi Tortilla 190" had crispy tortilla with a spicy kick from green chili peppers. The "Ebitama Sandwich 210" was a soft sandwich filled generously with ingredients. This shop offers old-fashioned bread with a rustic taste at reasonable prices. A place that has been cherished for a long time. Thank you for the meal! (*´▽`*)

When I visited Edogawabashi, I bought some bread at "Yakitate Bakery Nakano-ya". This bakery is located on Jizo-dori Shotengai in Edogawabashi and participates in a project called "Night Bakery" to rescue unsold bread. It opens at 7 am, offers delicious bread at affordable prices, and has a high rating of 3.6 on Tabelog. It is a popular bakery loved by locals and is known for its "Bread Basket" which contains a variety of their best bread. My wife used to live nearby during her student days and used to frequent this bakery, but it had been a while since she last visited. The recommended item here is the "Bread Basket" which is a basket filled with their famous bread. To ensure you get one, it's best to visit in the morning. I bought the "Bread Basket" for 320 yen, which had 5 different types of bread - White Cranberry, Raisin Sugar, Cream Bread, Anpan, and Royal Chocolate. They were all sweet bread, perfect for a snack. I enjoyed them all and almost finished the whole basket. The base of the basket was a focaccia-like bread with a chewy texture, which was also delicious. It was a pleasant surprise to discover that this traditional bakery has such a high rating on Tabelog. Next time I'm near Edogawabashi, I definitely plan on stopping by again.

Located in the middle of Jizodo Street, this bakery exudes a classic atmosphere. When I visited around 2 o'clock today, many items were already sold out, and there were hardly any savory bread left, which was disappointing. Nevertheless, I decided to try the remaining muffin curry bread. The chewy dough was generously filled with curry paste, making it delicious. The muffin was also sweet and moist, overall very tasty. I will come back earlier next time. Thank you for the meal. It was delicious.

I went to Nakano-ya bakery after a long time. I visited on Wednesday at 1:27 PM. As usual, they have a good selection of egg-based menu items. There were still some egg sandwiches and ham and egg rolls available. However, there was only one egg sandwich left. It must be popular. The special item of the day was the "Bacon Egg Bread". The egg looked soft-boiled, but it was actually cooked through and hard. The seasoning was a slightly sweet sauce, not soy sauce. I bought 3 sets of mini croissants for the family. These croissants have a taste that is easy for children to enjoy and are delicious.

I visited the store around 2:00 PM on Saturday. I always buy cream bread at new stores, so I chose that first. The total was 520 yen for 3 items. Here are my thoughts:
"Hamtamago Coppe":
Next, I was drawn to the bold visual of the "Hamtamago Coppe" and bought it. There were only 2 left. (Personal opinion)... Is it okay for 220 yen? I remember that the angle of opening for convenience store egg sandwiches is 10-15 degrees. However, Nakano-ya's was about 40 degrees. The bread had a subtle wheat aroma, and the lettuce (pesticide-free), ham, and egg salad inside were unique to a bakery. The crunchy texture of the lettuce was a special touch. The egg salad had a slightly sweet taste with a fluffy yolk. It goes really well with the spicy margarine...! I was completely satisfied and would love to eat it again.
"Cream Bread":
For 150 yen? It was a round, fluffy glove-shaped bread! The sweet bread dough was delicious. The cream had a nostalgic impression, with a strong sweetness and smooth texture. I recommend it for those who love sweets and want something sweet.
"Pudding Bread":
For 150 yen? I bought one where the cream had erupted out of the three available. The bread had a firm texture, and on top of it was cake batter with a solid pudding cream inside! It was truly a sweet bread and was delicious!

The sign at the storefront always says the chewy buns are sold out, but finally got one. I was imagining something round and fluffy, but it turned out to be flat. If it had more thickness, I could have enjoyed a chewier texture, but it was simple and delicious. I impulsively bought the Royal Chocolate with its noble name for 90 yen. Each of them has a dough that makes you want to eat it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner without getting tired.

After having lunch at Edogawabashi, I took a stroll down Jizo Street. I wasn't really aware of the bakery nearby, probably because of the presence of the established bakery called Sekiguchi French Bread. It has a traditional look to it. I went inside. They had about 20 types of pastries, including sweet bread and savory bread, priced around 100 yen, which seemed quite reasonable. Among them, I chose the sticky and chewy Boul and, just based on personal preference, the Royal Chocolate. The Boul had a note saying it's great as a sandwich, so I tried it that way. I heated it in a Balmuda toaster and added fillings. The bread had a firm texture with a chewy feel, which I liked. The Royal Chocolate was like a pie. Heating it slightly made it lighter and tastier. And the best part is, it's cheap. (January 2022)

Near Edogawabashi Station, there is a quaint bakery called Nakano-ya located in a shopping street. It coexists alongside chain bakeries, which is quite wonderful. I purchased a curry bread and a fish fry. The curry bread was not your typical or old-school type, but surprisingly delicious. It had a nice balance of flavors without being overly sweet, making it a tasty curry to pair with the bread. The spiciness was moderate, with depth and a good punch in the curry. The fish fry looked ordinary but was actually quite delicious. The seasoning was spot on, not too salty or sweet, hitting the perfect tasty spot. This shows the skillful sense of flavoring. That's why this bakery is so popular.

There are many bakeries and traditional Japanese and Western sweets shops from Edogawabashi Station to Kagurazaka Station. I had bookmarked a lot of them before. On this day, I had a one-day pass, so I went to this shop near Edogawabashi Station to buy morning bread the next day. I visited around 4 p.m., and they still had some deli bread and sweet bread. My child really wanted to eat yakisoba bread, so I thought maybe I could serve it for dinner... and decided to buy it together! In addition to the typical yakisoba bread sandwiched in a coppe pan, there was also a rare round yakisoba bread. When I asked the staff, they said the taste was the same. It seemed like they stuffed and baked it inside the round bread dough. My child ate it right away so I didn't take a picture, but they seemed to enjoy it very much. As for the bread, I think they had hotel bread and milk bread. This time, I bought the hotel bread. I didn't have a receipt, but I think it was around 250 yen. It was light and would go well with any kind of jam, and it was also delicious as pizza toast. The retro cute girl on the package and the original bag with the shop's name written on it were lovely! I think it's nice to have something like this (^_^) I will definitely stop by again when I take a walk in this area.

Ham, natto, and lettuce wrapped in tortilla bread make for a nutritious and delicious dish! The Ham Tamago Coppe, filled with plenty of eggs, lettuce, and ham, is also tasty with its soft and smooth bread. The most popular item is the chewy Sweet Boule. There are other unique breads like the Pudding Pan available as well. Will definitely come back again!

I had some business in Kagurazaka and decided to stop by Nakano-ya. There were many tempting breads, but I chose the Ham Tamako Coppe for 210 yen and the Pudding Pan for 150 yen. The Ham Tamako Coppe was filled with plenty of eggs and had a hint of mustard that added a nice touch. The coppe bread was soft and fluffy, making it a perfect match with the filling. The Pudding Pan was a unique bread with a firm outer layer and a soft pudding filling inside. The balance between the two textures made it easy to eat, and the sweetness was just right. It's a nostalgic bread loved by the locals and was very delicious. Thank you for the meal!

On weekdays, the competition is not intense so I was able to easily buy the shrimp omelette sandwich. I was surprised by the large variety of products as I only go on Sunday afternoons. The White Cranberry Bread is also incredibly delicious. It is probably the most delicious White Cranberry Bread in Shinjuku.

A bakery in the town that is open from 7 am on Sunday mornings. I woke up early on Sunday to buy bread, enjoyed it, and had plenty of time in the morning. It is rare to find a delicious bakery like this with a lot of assorted bread. I was disappointed when my favorite shop in Higashi-Jujo closed. But I found a similar shop in the Kagurazaka area, so I came here right away. It is located near Edogawabashi, rather than Kagurazaka, in a shopping street. The atmosphere of the shopping street is also cute, with a nostalgic Showa era feel, perfect for a leisurely stroll in the afternoon. The milk bread is like a sweet treat. It is fluffy, sweet, and soft, so it crushes when torn. The white fish sandwich has thick white fish fry with a strong fish flavor. Most fish fry sandwiches are mainly focused on the fried batter, but this one has a good balance with the fish. I bought a few other items, and they were all cheap. I had gotten used to the French-style boulangeries in Kagurazaka, so at first, I thought I misheard the price. It's too precious!

After my walk, I stopped by this place on the Jizo Street shopping street in Edogawabashi. It was a weekday afternoon, so there were no customers and I could take my time choosing. I picked a cream bun for 90 yen. It's cheap! Lately, bakery prices in town have been getting quite high, so I'm happy to find a shop like this. The taste was elegant and not too sweet, and I was quite satisfied. I'll definitely go back again.
