■Ciabatta (1/2)… 130 yen including tax
・Length: about 19cm
・Width: about 10.3cm
・Thickness: about 3.8cm
・Weight: about 79g
A meal bread originating from Northern Italy, made with durum wheat. "Ciabatta" means "slipper" in Italian, and true to its name, it has a slipper-like shape. When sliced and lightly toasted, the crust is crisp and the crumb is chewy. It has a salty flavor and a delightful wheat taste, making it delicious even when eaten on its own without making a panini. It has been a while since I last had it, but I still think that Peck's Ciabatta is delicious and offers good value for money.
■Ciabatta Panettone… 303 yen including tax
・Width: about 7.8cm
・Thickness: about 4cm
A bread made by wrapping pancetta and cheese sauce, along with coarsely ground black pepper, in ciabatta dough and baking it. The salty ciabatta dough pairs perfectly with pancetta and cheese, resulting in a very delicious combination. The spiciness of the black pepper spreads when you bite into it, giving a refreshing sensation in your mouth, allowing you to enjoy it until the last bite without feeling overwhelmed.
■Filone Cioccolato… 238 yen including tax
・Width: about 4.5cm
・Height: about 2.5cm
A long dessert bread made by sandwiching hazelnut-flavored chocolate cream (gianduja) and square chocolate chips into chocolate-kneaded ciabatta dough. "Filone" means "stream" or "flow" in Italian, originating from the Tuscany region. The combination of the slightly bitter ciabatta dough, crunchy bitter chocolate chips, and gianduja is pure bliss. It is a delightful sweet bread that I find delicious no matter how many times I eat it.
■Fagottino Mela… 270 yen including tax
・Vertical: about 8.3cm
・Horizontal: about 12cm
・Thickness: about 3.3cm
・Weight: about 153g
A sweet bread with homemade apple filling. "Fagottino" means "wrapped" and "Mela" means "apple" in Italian. Unlike the other breads, this one has a soft texture. The homemade apple filling contains diced apples with a crisp texture, raisins, and a sweet cinnamon scent. The top is generously sprinkled with sliced almonds, adding a crunchy texture and nutty flavor. The apple filling is packed tightly without any gaps, making it a satisfying treat, especially recommended for apple pie lovers.

After 7 PM, I looked for bread for dinner. The selection was quite limited at that time. I bought an onion bread, a cheese bread, and some kind of side dish bread. The base bread was delicious. One of the side dish breads seemed to be tomato and cheese. It was delicious again today.

It's rare to find an Italian bakery in Japan, but there is one located on the first basement floor of Nihonbashi Takashimaya. I purchased two panini. One had grilled vegetables and chicken sandwiched in a bread that was elongated and had a diagonal pattern from a special grill. This type of bread is called ciabatta. The bread was soft, but lacked in substance, and wasn't very memorable. The panini sandwiches were stored in the refrigerator, which was odd since panini means "hot sandwich" and the bread didn't appear to be toasted. There were two varieties, one with a strong tomato flavor and a good amount of pepper, which was delicious and I would want to eat it again. The other one, I felt would have been better with some lettuce added. Thank you for introducing me to Italian panini sandwiches.

I was initially interested in the special space at Nihonbashi Takashimaya and the selection of items, so I planned to explore that first before heading home. I thought I would be busy shopping there, but ended up feeling uninspired and stopped in front of a familiar store. I realized I hadn't had shrimp in a while, so I chose some shrimp mayo and lasagna dishes. The shrimp turned out to be surprisingly delicious, and I was very satisfied. I definitely want to buy it again.

Milanese's favorite bakery, Peck. I went to buy focaccia on this day. I also got some bread for breakfast. Lemon cream is my favorite, so I couldn't resist getting it. The classical wrapping paper is also cute. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I visited this bakery in the Nihonbashi area, where I don't often have the chance to go. I stopped by because I had some errands nearby. It was late, so there were only a few types of bread left, mostly the standard ones. Personally, I prefer bread that is neatly packaged in a bag rather than being served unwrapped. This time, I tried the focaccia.

Appearance-wise, the walnut bread doesn't seem to have any unique features. But when you take a bite, you'll experience a soft texture that is hard to describe. It's not dry, but surprisingly has a slightly chewy texture. The walnuts have retained their unique aroma and softness, not becoming too hard or losing their fragrance due to baking. I heard that they aim for a gluten-free recipe, but still use rice flour in the dough. It's a thoughtful approach.

After finishing my greetings in Kayabacho in the evening, there was no point in going back to the office, so I decided to head straight home. I realized I didn't have any bread at home, so I needed to buy some. Since I was close by, I decided to purchase some at Nihonbashi Takashimaya. It was quite crowded due to the New Year season, which was nice to see. I bought two types of bread: ciabatta and cheese boulangerie. I planned to reheat and eat them the next day. The cheese boulangerie had four types of cheese and a rich flavor. My son was devouring it. The ciabatta was plain and simple. I felt like there was a bit too much olive oil, but it was still delicious. It had a rich rosemary aroma. Both breads were soft, easy to eat, and tasty. I don't visit the Kayabacho area often, but if I feel like it, I would like to stop by and buy some bread again.

◇Crowdedness: Not crowded
◇Ordering method, speed of service: Verbal, immediate
◇Taste: "Vanilla tart" and "chestnut cream puff" - The chestnut cream puff is like a bread-like cream puff. The choux pastry has a bumpy shape but is not hard. The cream is similar to the cream used in cream puffs, with less moisture. It is not gooey but rather dry.

Visited "Peck Nihonbashi Takashimaya Store" located in the B1 floor of Nihonbashi Takashimaya Main Store, directly connected to Nihonbashi Station. Arrived around 1 pm on Saturday and although the store was crowded, I was able to check out quickly. Purchased the Piccolo Sandwich (Shrimp & Egg) for 195 yen. The plump shrimp and egg filling complement each other well and taste delicious. The fluffy bread has a slight sweetness to it, which adds to the overall flavor. Enjoyed it until the last bite.

I visited the Nihonbashi Takashimaya store of "Peck" in Nihonbashi. The store is located on the basement 1st floor of Nihonbashi Takashimaya Main Store. "Peck" is a high-end food store founded in 1883 in Italy. In Japan, they mainly have stores in Takashimaya. The Nihonbashi Takashimaya store specializes in take-out, selling mainly bread, cheese, cured ham, side dishes, and olive oil. I have visited the Nihonbashi Takashimaya store a few times before, but this is my first comment in 3 years and 8 months.
◆Items purchased on this day
Autumn Piccolo Bread Set (735 yen including tax)
I had it at home. The Piccolo Bread Set is a set of small sweet bread, a staple of "Peck". The set I purchased this time was a limited-time release, focusing on bread using autumn ingredients.
◆Bread contents
1. Brioche
2. Chocolate
3. Cappuccino
4. Sweet Potato
5. Apple
6. Chestnut
The size was not large, but there were 6 varieties, so I felt it was a good deal with satisfying content. They were all delicious and satisfying. The Piccolo Bread Set seems to be sold with different combinations of bread for a limited time. Also, when I go to Takashimaya next time, I would like to visit "Peck" and purchase a different combination of the "Piccolo Bread Set". Furthermore, since I have only purchased bread so far, I would like to try purchasing side dishes, ham, and other items. Thank you for the meal.

Located in the basement of Nihonbashi Takashimaya, this Italian bread specialty shop offers a wide variety of bread at reasonable prices. I was drawn to the autumn limited edition sweet bread set containing 6 small pastries for 680 yen. I decided to purchase this set without hesitation. The set includes: Pan Dolce Avvolto - a chestnut-based sweet bread with chestnut cream and candied chestnuts on top, with a hint of liquor; Fagottino Mela - a pastry with homemade apple filling, crunchy diced apples, raisins, and a touch of cinnamon; Pane Cappuccino - a melon bread with cappuccino filling, surprisingly soft and moist; Brioche - a lightly sweet brioche that is light and soft; Filone Cioccolato - a stick bread filled with hazelnut-flavored chocolate cream; and Sfogliatella di Patate - an Italian pastry bread with plenty of butter and sweet potato paste, a mix of Japanese and Western flavors. The Ciabatta bread for sandwiches is lighter and fluffier than those sold elsewhere, with a light wheat aroma. Although there wasn't any standout delicious bread, the quality is on par with chain stores. It seems that the cream puffs and cannoli are more popular, so I might try those next time.

I thought that the cream puffs at the bakery in the Takashimaya department store in Nihonbashi would be quite expensive, but to my surprise, you can buy one for less than 300 yen. It's a great deal for a department store dessert. The cream puffs are popular, and when I visited near closing time on the weekend, there was only one of each flavor left. Lucky me! The choux pastry is firm, and the cream filling has a solid texture. It doesn't melt and disappear in your mouth. The cream contains some alcohol, but even though I can't drink alcohol, it wasn't a problem for me.

I like the bread at Pecq and often come, but the sweets are also delicious and have a high cost-performance ratio. Today I had two types of cream puffs, one with a fluffy texture and a fragrant cream. There was a trend for Maritozzo and other pastries at one point. It was delicious again today. Thank you for the meal. ★

I purchased Italian bread at "PECK Nihonbashi Takashimaya Store", which is surprisingly not commonly heard of compared to French and German bread shops. The bread, established in Milan in 1883, is being sold with explanations about the bread commonly eaten in Italy. The focaccia, made with plenty of olive oil, has a subtle salty taste and goes well with any meal. This was my first time trying such a large focaccia. The mountain bread, which I thought was British bread, is actually a standard in Italy. It is made using durum semolina flour often used in pasta and pizza, resulting in a chewy texture. Cannolo is an Italian pastry made by filling fried dough with ricotta cheese and chocolate. It looks like a croissant dough coronet. It is a Sicilian pastry. I learned about it from NHK's "Hansel and Gretel" (featured in The Godfather) and was curious about it, so I was happy to try it. The bread is generally priced around 200 to 300 yen, making it affordable.

I visited Tokyo Station on my way back from a business trip and walked a little to reach Takashimaya. There was a delicious-looking bakery in the basement, so I decided to stop by. I bought a custard cornet and a chestnut cream puff. The custard cornet was around 200 yen and had a crispy pie crust that was delicious and reasonably priced. I would rate it 3.8 out of 5. The chestnut cream puff was around 300 yen and I would rate it 3.4 out of 5. The bakery at this place offers reasonably priced bread even though it is located in a department store basement in Tokyo, so I highly recommend it.

Located on the basement floor of Nihonbashi Takashimaya. In addition to freshly baked bread, they also sell high-quality ingredients such as Italian cheese and olive oil. This time, I purchased some bread. I bought: - Fava bean and Pecorino cheese ciabatta for 303 yen. This ciabatta is filled with fava beans and prosciutto, topped with Pecorino cheese. The bread is fluffy and soft. I love fava beans! The saltiness of the prosciutto with a hint of black pepper is delicious. - Pane Dolce Avvolti for 216 yen. This sweet bread is filled with chestnut cream and topped with candied chestnuts. It has a subtle aroma of liquor and a perfect balance of sweetness. The bread is consistently delicious. I also saw some cream puffs in the showcase that looked tempting, so I would like to try them next time!

As of December 2021, at 3.64 Strawberry Mascarpone Choux Cream for 281 yen, Vanilla Tart for 270 yen, and Tiramisu for 605 yen at a bakery located in the basement of Nihonbashi Takashimaya. The bakery is positioned as a high-end food store from Italy. The choux cream is said to be delicious, and when I visited in the evening, there were still a few left. The Strawberry Mascarpone has a good balance between mascarpone as the main flavor and strawberry as an accent. On the other hand, both the Vanilla Tart and Tiramisu had issues - the cream was too firm and lacked smoothness, and the Tiramisu felt more like it was made by a bakery rather than a cake shop, with too much sponge. While the price and portion size seemed good, I found it to be monotonous and got tired of it halfway through. I cannot recommend it.

Binyu Pistachio for 292 yen. Strawberry Mascarpone Choux Cream for 303 yen. Visited on Sunday around 3 PM. In front of the shop, there were breads displayed, and in the back glass case, choux creams were being sold. The choux creams available were Binyu Pistachio, Chestnut, Strawberry Mascarpone, and Vanilla. It was mentioned that Chestnut and Strawberry Mascarpone contain alcohol. I purchased 2 Binyu Pistachio and 2 Strawberry Mascarpone Choux Creams. The choux pastry of Binyu Pistachio was slightly dry and had a harder texture. It was a choux cream filled with pistachio cream, and the pistachio flavor was strong. The sweetness was relatively mild, and it had a generous amount of cream, providing a satisfying bite. The Strawberry Mascarpone Choux Cream had a rich and sweet mascarpone cream that paired perfectly with the sweet and sourness of the strawberries.
