Located near Ebisu Station, "STEAM BREAD TOKYO" offers a new sensation of moist and chewy steam bread. "STEAM BREAD" is a bread brand that expresses a moist and chewy texture by baking the dough with steam. By slowly baking at low temperatures, the rich flavor and umami of the ingredients are sealed in. The dough is made with flavorful 100% domestically produced wheat, and does not contain emulsifiers, flavorings, colorings, or preservatives, making it safe to eat. The location is about a 2-minute walk from Ebisu Station, near a 5-way intersection heading towards Shibuya, with a stylish and trendy appearance similar to a dessert shop. The main product here is a one-pound loaf of bread, with additional items such as omelette sandwiches, rusk, and soft serve ice cream. During my visit from December 3rd to December 31st, I tried the limited-time Pizza Fondue. The items I purchased were as follows: ● STEAM BREAD PIZZA FONDUE 1,500 yen ● STEAM BREAD 900 yen ● CHEESE OMELETTE SAND 700 yen ・ Paper bag 50 yen After the purchase, I took a photo of the shopper against a wall with an adorable dog illustration. The first item I opened was the Cheese Omelette Sandwich. Upon opening the paper box, the vibrant yellow cross-section with overflowing creamy cheese was appetizing. The bread was moist and tender, with a touch of cheese that melted in the mouth. The subtle egg aroma and soft richness blended perfectly, leaving a gentle aftertaste. The moist bread harmonized with the fluffy omelette, creating a delightful sandwich with a lingering wheat sweetness. Next, I tried the signature STEAM BREAD. The bread felt moist even to the crust, denser than regular bread. When torn, the thin crust and moist chewiness were evident. The milky sweetness and richness of flavor melted in the mouth, enhancing the umami with each chew. Additionally, warming up the bread enhanced the moistness and flavor, providing a delightful mochi-like texture. Lastly, I indulged in the STEAM BREAD PIZZA FONDUE, which came in a special box. Despite being smaller than the regular STEAM BREAD, it still felt substantial. Following the recommendation, I microwaved it for less than a minute. Tearing along the seam, the gooey mozzarella cheese and pizza sauce-infused dough created a cheesy delight. The pizza flavor complemented the bread's texture, resulting in a unique pizza fondue experience. The combination of rich cheese and moist bread, along with the pizza aroma, made it a perfect treat for the season. All items featured the signature moist and chewy STEAM BREAD dough, emphasizing the chewy texture and expanding sweetness. While I heated them in the microwave, using an oven to bake the surface would enhance the aroma and flavor. Especially the STEAM BREAD PIZZA FONDUE would be ideal for enjoying at home during Christmas, experiencing the stretchy cheese firsthand. □STEAM BREAD TOKYO Address: 1-3-10 Ebisu Nishi, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo Five Annex 1F Phone number: 03-6455-3032 Business hours: 10:00-20:00 Total cost: 3,200 yen including tax Visited: around 11:00 on weekdays, no waiting time *Reservations for visits are also available on the website.

A takeout-only shop. I visited on a holiday but there was no one there. Maybe there would be a line if there was seating available. The taste was so-so. It seemed like they increased the amount of cheese, making it a bit heavy. The shop itself was cute. Maybe just once is enough...

The bread is made using a rare method of steaming instead of baking, resulting in a surprisingly sweet flavor. They also offer sandwiches. There is no seating available, and they tend to sell out in the evening. I visited on a holiday before 2 pm, and there were no other customers. The staff was absent, so I had to ring a bell for service. [What I bought] Steam Bread ¥950 The bread was on the smaller side, and the sweetness was quite strong, which was unexpected. It might be too sweet if paired with jam. It was delicious, but a bit challenging to incorporate into meals. I'm glad I had the chance to try it as I was curious about it. Thank you for the meal!

Takeout - Cheese Omelette Sandwich ¥750 (tax included) "Expanding the variety of bread" is the concept of the bread specialty store "STEAM BREAD TOKYO", which uses dough fermented at low temperature for a long time and baked with steam. The first store, Ebisu store, is about a 3-minute walk from Ebisu Station West Exit. I purchased the "Cheese Omelette Sandwich" for breakfast, using the proud bread for takeout. Be aware that there is a limited quantity, so be careful of it being sold out. I asked the staff for a delicious way to reheat it and warmed it up in the microwave at home at 600W for 40 seconds. The bread is made of 100% domestically produced wheat, without emulsifiers, preservatives, or artificial flavors. Using the steaming and baking technique, it achieves a soft and chewy texture. The vibrant yellow omelette is a two-layer structure resembling a cheese omelette with scrambled eggs on top. It uses luxurious eggs for a rich taste and appearance, both being soft and creamy. The creaminess of the cheese is balanced by the black pepper. Next time, I might try buying their bread.

The fluffy bread has a subtle sweetness to it, making it more suitable for jam or honey rather than savory fillings like sandwiches. Of course, it's delicious on its own too! It was really tasty. I'm curious about their limited edition products next time. #steambread #steambreadtokyo #steambreadebisu #breadlovers #homemade #Ebisugourmet

There are countless bread specialty shops in Tokyo, but among them, this shop is one of the top three in my opinion! Located about a 5-minute walk from Ebisu, this cute shop with a dog art as a signboard. I purchased their signature menu item, Steam Bread (950 yen). It may seem a bit pricey for 1.5 pounds at 950 yen, but the taste is worth it! The bread dough is so soft that it's difficult to cut with a knife, and the texture is chewy. I think the only other place where you can enjoy this smooth and chewy texture is here and Milk in Shibuya. It's delicious even when toasted, but personally, I prefer to eat it as it is. (I think really delicious bread is better eaten without toasting ☺︎) They used to sell bread with omelets on top, but it seems they no longer do. Sometimes, depending on the season, they also sell various flavored bread. Whenever I visit Ebisu, I always buy some ☺︎ For those who consider bread essential in their daily lives, this is a must-try masterpiece (*´ω`*)

My son who lives in Ebisu recommended a trendy shop, so I visited the same shop. I bought the standard 1.5-pound loaf of raw bread and a collaboration bread with Morinaga's milk caramel, which is a limited-time offer. The next day, I compared both breads. First, the collaboration bread with milk caramel. The caramel sauce was overpowering and the flavor of the bread was barely noticeable. It was interesting that it came in a box designed like Morinaga's milk caramel, but it lacked any real appeal other than being a conversation starter. The main raw bread was very sweet, similar to the high-end breads that have been popular lately, but the sweetness was so strong that the flavor of the bread itself was lost. It was described as chewy and highly recommended for raw consumption, but the crust was hard and lacked any special appeal. They made a point of distinguishing between raw and toasted bread, but truly delicious bread should be enjoyable regardless of how it is eaten. The concept seems to be focused on standing out from other shops, but the depth of flavor in the bread was disappointingly shallow. Above all, the male staff who served me had poor customer service skills and lacked any friendliness. Many shops try to differentiate themselves with unique concepts for the sake of being trendy, but eventually the facade wears off. That was the impression I got from this bread specialty shop.

I read reviews saying that there is always a long line and the cheese omelette sandwich sells out quickly, so I was lucky that there was no line and they still had sandwiches when I went. It was raining that day, so maybe that's why. There was only one man inside. I wonder if he noticed me or not? He didn't come out for a while, so I rang the bell and he came out. At the cashier, there was a fly buzzing around... I saw him swat it, but I wonder if he washed or changed his embossed gloves after that? I carried it around for about 6 hours, so one fell over and when I opened the lid, the excitement was ruined by the disappointing appearance. I guessed from the size of the box, but it was smaller than I thought. But if you eat two, it's a decent amount. I was supposed to eat it on the same day, but I put it in the fridge and had it for lunch at work the next day. I microwaved it, and the egg on top was still runny. Maybe they use a thickening agent instead of making it from scratch? The inside egg was solid, so I want to believe they make it in-store... I'll leave my thoughts on the runny egg aside. The bread was sweet and delicious! I didn't eat the bread on its own, so I'm not sure, but the moist and fluffy texture might be the characteristic of steam bread. But the price!! Is it reasonable in Ebisu... The bread was thin and small, so 750 yen is expensive. If I go again, I might get the 1.5-pound steam bread. The cheese omelette sandwich was delicious too, but I'm curious about the runny egg's true identity... (Sorry for doubting if it's homemade) But it's expensive, and I don't need 1.5 pounds, so I probably won't go again...

Visited "STEAM BREAD TOKYO", a specialty store for steamed bread located a 3-minute walk from Ebisu Station. Around 1:00 PM on Sunday, there was no line, possibly due to the rain, so I was able to order right away. I purchased the Omelette Sandwich for 750 yen. The Omelette Sandwich consists of a fluffy omelette wrapped around an egg filling sandwiched between bread. The egg filling with mayo, the fluffy omelette, and slightly cooked thin egg all together make it delicious. The pepper adds a nice touch. I enjoyed it all the way to the last bite in no time.

I passed by a bakery where they seem to bake bread with steam. I bought one with cream cheese inside. The bread was chewy and the cream cheese made it rich in flavor. I tried it both raw and baked, and I think the raw one tasted better. The only downside was that the cream cheese wasn't mixed well, so there were some small clumps (about 1mm) that looked like spots.

I went on a bread tour to a famous bakery in Ebisu. You have to make a reservation in advance to purchase bread here. I pre-ordered the items I wanted and made a payment in advance. Then I went to pick them up at the specified time. - Cheese Omelette Sandwich: This was the menu item I really wanted to try. You can't buy it without a reservation. This sandwich features a truly delicious omelette. The omelette is wonderfully creamy, enveloped in bread. The omelette steals the show, with a rich egg-based flavor and the taste of cheese spreading throughout. Originally, I ordered two, but they could only provide one. However, the one I received had two slices, so I was completely satisfied. This is a must-try item. - Traditional Croquette Bread: A croquette generously filled with sauce, moist and soft, wrapped in a fluffy bread. Truly a traditional croquette bread! - STEAM BREAD: This is their signature loaf. Smaller in size than regular bread, it is moist and chewy, and delicious. When toasted, the chewy texture becomes even more pronounced. Highly recommended. - STEAM BREAD PIZZA FONDUE: This bread incorporates pizza sauce and a cheese blend centered around mozzarella. When you split the bread in half, the cheese stretches out! A remarkable dish that will make you exclaim in awe. Some of the other items I ordered were out of stock, so I couldn't try the egg sandwich, but overall, it was a delicious bread that makes you want to come back for more. Thank you for the meal.

Just a 5-minute walk from Ebisu Station, I found a takeout-only shop on a street lined with lovely shops. I was intrigued by the omelette sandwich, so I decided to try it. The appearance of the sandwich is simply delightful. I was worried that the fluffy egg inside would be difficult to eat, but the egg sandwiched between the bread is well-formed, with a soft and fluffy omelette on top. With the first bite, I thought, "Wow, the bread is so delicious!" The egg is also soft and tasty, but the bread is exceptional! Truly a shop known for its bread. Next time, I want to try their bread!

Moist and chewy, this new bread has a unique steam baking method in Japan! It's tastier when microwaved rather than toasted ☺️ It has a nice aroma and is one of my favorites among high-end breads. Highly recommended! ✨ Thank you for reading until the end ✨ I hope this review will help you find delicious meals ☺️ Likes and comments are very encouraging. I will continue to work hard to provide helpful reviews, so your support is greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Located about a 5-minute walk from Ebisu Station, this bakery offers cream cheese-filled bread, egg sandwiches, and rusk. Despite the fading trend of high-end bread, I believe this cream cheese-filled bread will survive. I have purchased it several times as a souvenir and personally enjoy it.

A unique bakery specializing in steamed bread that offers a special texture without baking. I first tried it as a wedding gift from a friend and got hooked! They recently started offering deli sandwiches which are also delicious. My personal favorite is to microwave the bread, drizzle honey on top, and enjoy! This shop has been featured on TV shows like "Hirunandesu" and is quite popular. Look for the shop with EIJI TAMURA's dog art as a sign! Shop Information: - Budget: 500-2,000 yen - Address: 1-3-10 Ebisu, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo - Phone: 03-6455-3032 - Hours: 10:00-20:00 - Closed on: No specific day - Private rooms: No - Smoking: No

I visited the restaurant at 1:30 PM on Saturday aiming for a cheese omelette sandwich. I didn't make a reservation because I wasn't sure when my previous appointment would end. Unfortunately, they were sold out. It seems a bit early to be sold out. Even the standard steam bread was sold out. However, they had cream cheese available, so I decided to purchase that instead. It's a kind of high-quality bread, priced at 1000 yen. The bread has a soft and moist texture, with a slightly heavy feel. It's sweeter than expected, with cheese in it, although the cream cheese flavor is subtle. It's delicious on its own, but even better when slightly warmed up, becoming fluffier. It's tasty, but at 1000 yen, hmm... I'm hesitant about repurchasing this item for now.

I purchased it at the Ueno Marui store. The words "bamboo dumpling bread" caught my eye and I stopped in my tracks. I love bamboo dumplings. I was curious about what kind of bread it was. It's similar to the cherry bean paste from Ginza Shikawa, which I had the other day, rolled up and kneaded inside the bread. However, it's a little different - the whole bread has the fragrance of grass mochi and bamboo. I thought it was more delicious to eat it raw rather than toasted. I think you can only buy bamboo dumpling bread like this at this store. It was very delicious. The drinkable omelette bread is a luxurious-looking bread. It is indeed delicious, but I was a little disappointed that the omelette wasn't sweet. I prefer sweet eggs. The staff at the store were very kind and even taught me the best way to eat each bread. Next time, I want to try the Ghana chocolate raw bread.

Omelette sandwich! I visited the bakery after seeing it on TV and it looked delicious! The bakery sells bread for around ¥1000 for 2 loaves of white bread and ¥1000 for 1 loaf of cheese bread. The bread is steamed, making it soft and moist with a slightly sweet taste. It has a hint of margarine flavor but is very moist and soft. It's as soft as a baby's cheek. And the omelette sandwich (the one in the photo has deflated a bit after a few hours) is delicious. It's light and seems to be low in calories! It's a smooth egg filling, almost forgetting about the bread. I thought there was cheese in it, but it's just simple eggs. I definitely want to come back for more!

My husband bought some bread this time. Last time we visited, he bought plain bread, so I was expecting something similar this time, but he brought back two different kinds of bread: - Cheese omelette sandwich (700 yen): A sandwich with a creamy cheese omelette inside moist bread. It has a substantial weight and looks very filling. The moist bread pairs well with the omelette. - Christmas limited edition Pizza Fondue (1500 yen): A Christmas-themed bread in a red box that looks like regular bread but is surprisingly heavy. When cut in half, cheese oozes out unexpectedly. The bread has a hint of tomato sauce and cheese in the center. The best way to eat it is to dip the surrounding bread into the cheese. I made a mistake by cutting it normally without thinking. The balance of tomato sauce and bread without cheese was good and tasty, but it could have been even better with an extra spicy flavor. I love bread, but I prefer hard bread, so I don't usually go to this type of shop. My husband likes a variety of things, so it's nice to occasionally try something from a shop that's not exactly my taste.

The egg sandwich was fluffy. It was so soft and moist, almost like water. I wanted to try it, so I bought it when they opened. If you prefer something firmer, you might go crazy with this one, haha. Personally, I think sometimes things need to be a bit more casual, and this sandwich lacked a satisfying bite.
