There are many hamburger specialty stores, but a hot dog specialty store? And gourmet hot dogs? What's that?! I was so curious that when I got the chance, I visited with excitement. The name of the store, SKOOKUM, means "the best, the only" in Indian. The interior of the store, with 1990s hip-hop music playing, is full of American diner atmosphere. You can also enjoy watching sports on TV, so it seems lively during the season.
- SKOOKUM DOG (1,580 yen)
- Green Salad (680 yen)
- Onion Rings (380 yen)
- French Fries (380 yen)
- Chips & Salsa (380 yen)
- Budweiser (660 yen)
As soon as I saw it, I got hungry. The recommended SKOOKUM DOG, which is also the namesake of the store, is packed with 9 ingredients including homemade sausage, tomato, onion, lettuce, homemade bacon tartar sauce, avocado, cheese, and BBQ sauce! It's so voluminous that you might not be able to finish it alone. It looks like they might fight each other inside, but:
- The smoky flavor and punchy texture of the homemade sausage
- The fatty homemade bacon, onion, and tomato accents
- The rich BBQ sauce enhances the junkiness
- The tartar sauce, avocado, and cheese wrap the unique ingredients in a mild way, creating a synergistic effect
It was really delicious, and I was seriously considering buying the homemade sausage and bacon to take home. They also have a variety of salads, meats, and dessert menus, so it's recommended for women too. It's a deliciousness that will make you want to come back for sure. Enjoy the American hot dog with a big bite and wash it down with a Budweiser, whether alone, with friends, or family. It's a must-have gourmet hot dog that you'll want to enjoy anytime. When exploring Nakameguro, be sure to stop by (even though your mouth will get dirty, enjoy it to the fullest!)
