I walk down the gentle slope of the sidewalk on the uphill side of National Route 1 from Kamiyacho Station. I pass the large-scale construction site of the Toranomon-Azabudai Project by Mori Building, next to the post office is a Lawson. I head towards the restaurant Meisei on the second floor of Lawson. You can enter from the front entrance a little further back or from the door at the back of Lawson, go up the stairs to the second floor on the right. This is the headquarters of Reiyukai, a new religion based on the Lotus Sutra, which was rebuilt in 2020 and is brand new. It is connected to the magnificent Shakaden next door. I came here because it is said that even non-believers can use it. It is currently open for lunch from Friday to Tuesday. There is a ticket machine on the left at the entrance where you can purchase your meal ticket. The price range is from 500 yen to 850 yen. Reiyukai is a new religious movement based on the Lotus Sutra, which gave rise to Rissho Kosei-kai, emphasizing ancestor veneration. I remember hearing "Inna Trip" on TBS Radio in the past. I press the button for "Fox Udon Seasonal Mixed Rice Set" (650 yen) on the ticket machine. I hand the meal ticket to the man at the counter, who places the order in the kitchen and gives me a number tag, then I secure a seat. Tea and water are self-service. Soon my number is called, and I receive my tray. The lady offers me shichimi pepper, so I sprinkle it on before heading to my seat. Clear broth, thin udon noodles, fried tofu, wakame seaweed, white leeks. The broth is light but salty. The udon noodles are probably frozen, but they go down smoothly and taste good. The mixed rice has fried tofu, ginger, and flaked white fish. It has a soy sauce and ginger aroma. It's a bit better than I expected. I clear my trash and leftovers at the return counter, separate the dishes, return the tray, and say thank you. The man at the counter and the lady at the general reception on the first floor also thank me as I leave.
