I rarely come across the shop being open, but today it was open so I decided to visit after a long time. I ordered one of the shop's two main dishes, the maguro donburi (500 yen). After ordering, the wife sprinkled vinegar on the rice to make vinegar rice. Meanwhile, the husband cut the tuna from the refrigerator. There were two types of sashimi, one white and one light pink, arranged on top of the vinegar rice with seaweed. Both types of sashimi were fatty, with a texture similar to otoro that melts in your mouth. It looked like a regular maguro donburi, but it tasted like otoro and only cost 500 yen, which was amazing! The husband explained that the sashimi was slightly frozen, but it thawed nicely on top of the warm rice by the time I got home. I thought there were only two menu items, but I also ordered the fried rice (200 yen) to take home. The fried rice was pre-packed in a plastic bag, but the wife heated it up in the microwave for me. It was a simple fried rice topped with char siu, egg, green onions, and pickled ginger. It was lightly seasoned, but it had a nice flavor possibly from using pure liver sauce. The maguro donburi and fried rice were both delicious and affordable. And, the pure liver donburi for only 350 yen is unbelievably cheap! I definitely recommend it.

Located halfway between Oshima and Minamisuna-cho, near the entrance of the Sunamachi Ginza shopping street, this shop opened in September last year and offers two takeout dishes: pure liver donburi and maguro donburi. This time, I ordered the pure liver donburi (350 yen). When you order, the chicken liver marinated in sauce is placed on a hot plate and cooked, resembling the cooking style of horumon-yaki. Once cooked, it is placed on top of the rice in a bowl to complete the dish. Since they start cooking after receiving the order, there is a short wait, but there are two benches on the sidewalk where you can sit and wait. Next to the benches, warm tea is provided for self-service while you wait. The amount of liver for 350 yen is unbelievable, and even for 500 yen, it is still cheap. The sweet and savory liver has no unpleasant smell or slimy texture, making it easy to eat. Even those who dislike liver can definitely enjoy it and appreciate the deliciousness of liver. The crunchy texture of the blood vessels attached to the liver adds to the experience. It would be even more delicious if the liver were cut into larger pieces instead of being finely chopped. The pure liver donburi allows for adjustments in spiciness and flavor intensity, and you can also add toppings such as green onions, shredded cabbage, and a soft-boiled egg for an additional 50 yen each. The name of the shop, "Payayoshi," is the name of the band that the owner is a part of. The band is moderately active, with the owner on drums. Inside the small kitchen, you can hear the voices of the owner, his wife, and their child. The child seems to dislike the cramped space of the shop and keeps going outside, followed by the wife. The loving family atmosphere at the shop, different from supermarkets and convenience stores, is also a secret to the deliciousness of the dishes.
