Next to Nishi-Ogikubo Station, there is a diner with a variety of set meals. I visited with friends around 5 pm. They offer curry, fried dishes, and more. The prices are reasonable. You can help yourself to water (cold or barley tea) and rice, and the miso soup is refillable. I had the mackerel miso set meal for 850 yen. The miso soup was delicious and rich, perfect with the rice. However, they don't reheat the food too much, so it doesn't feel freshly made. But considering it's a casual diner, it's still good. Good value for money.

Today, I decided to seek revenge on Takashiya, where I was rejected yesterday due to temporary closure. However, there was a long line inside the restaurant. The neighboring restaurant had some empty seats, so I decided to go there instead. I had never been to this place before, but I ordered a chicken cutlet curry with a large serving. The curry was not very spicy and had beef tendons cooked in it. The portion size was quite generous, with the curry covering the chicken cutlet and rice. The chicken cutlet was freshly fried and had a crispy, thick coating. Although there were some fatty parts in the chicken, it was still enjoyable. Overall, the restaurant had a wide variety of menu options to cater to different preferences.

It's close to the station. Just by that, people heading to Nakano or Nishi-Funabashi can get off a little early and go eat. The set meals all look delicious, but the amazing thing here is being able to customize the flavors to your liking. You can even order extra garlic if you want. Adding spiciness is common at places like Coco Ichibanya, but adding garlic is rare.

Next to Nishi-Kasai Station, there is a diner by the railroad tracks. They offer self-service side dishes as well. I ordered the Chicken Cutlet Curry (870 yen). The curry had a mild home-cooked flavor and zero spiciness. It contained onions and pork. There was a bit more fat in the pork than I would have liked. The chicken cutlet was freshly fried, tender on the inside, and had a crispy, coarse bread crumb coating that was delicious.

You can usually walk in around 5 pm without having to wait for a seat. Located in front of Nishi-Kasai station, this diner called "Manpuku" lives up to its name by offering generous portions of rice and free refills. The set meals are a self-serve style, making it easy to enjoy a hearty meal. With prices under 1000 yen, the cost performance is excellent!

This is a popular casual dining restaurant located on a street behind Metro Center at Nishi-Oi Station. They offer a wide variety of set meals, including curry and rice bowls, with various side dishes displayed in cases. Customers can serve themselves water, and rice refills are free with set meals. The stir-fried set meals are particularly satisfying and the spicy hormone stir-fry I ordered had excellent seasoning that paired well with the rice. As the name suggests, I left the restaurant feeling fully satisfied.

I'm comparing the curry rice offered in the Kasai area. Today, I tried the curry at this popular diner in Nishi-Kasai. They offer a variety of dishes, but they also have a special focus on their curry. The base is a "beef curry stewed in beer." They have variations like curry with croquettes, chicken cutlet, tonkatsu, hamburger, eggplant, oyster fry, and harami steak. Last time, I had the croquette curry, but today I decided to try the plain "beef curry." It costs 650 yen, which is a bit cheaper than average. The curry that came out had a good amount of beef and onions, unlike some curries with few ingredients. It had a balanced and flavorful taste. Although I couldn't really tell where the "stewed in beer" part came in, it was a delicious curry. This restaurant is considerate and has good service. When you order a set meal, you can have unlimited rice, but they provide a "My Spoon" for serving rice, which is very clean. They seem to be making efforts to provide better service in various ways. It's a great diner that supports the stomachs of Nishi-Kasai residents.

I found a restaurant near Nishi-Ogikubo station while searching for a dinner option. The restaurant had a Food Score of 3.27 on Tabelog. I checked the location of the restaurant and then parked my car at a nearby coin parking lot. I ordered the Ebi Fry Chicken Katsu set meal for 930 yen. It was a combination of shrimp fry and chicken cutlet. The rice was self-serve style, and I opted for a smaller portion. The shrimp fry was decently sized, and the chicken cutlet was tasty. The restaurant had a variety of set meals, including curry, grilled meat, and tuna cheek set meals. It seemed like a popular spot during the day. Overall, it was a satisfying meal.

Set meals at this restaurant allow for unlimited rice refills, so you can truly become "manpuku" (satisfied). The basic menu can be chosen from a menu book, and side dishes can be selected from a showcase, making it enjoyable to create a well-balanced meal. The restaurant is currently open from 11:00 to 22:00 (last order at 21:30). The yakitori set meal (790 yen) was a good deal with 7 skewers, although it was different from what I expected. The sauce was delicious. When the meal was served, an empty rice bowl and a ladle were provided, and I found it a bit challenging to figure out where to place the ladle. I ended up placing it on the tray, but I felt it was not very hygienic as it could potentially cause a mess. Therefore, I refrained from getting a rice refill.

Tomorrow marks the beginning of Golden Week. Despite the lingering effects of the Chinese virus, this year's Golden Week is still a time of patience for many. However, unlike last year when we were forced to stay at home due to telework, this year, working normally brings a sense of excitement. In my household, we usually only visit the pottery markets in Mashiko or Kasama during Golden Week, so the current situation doesn't affect us much. In the past, I might have planned to take a night bus to Tokyo on my day off, but now, such concerns are no longer necessary, which I am grateful for. Today, I visited a branch in Nishi-Kasai, where I had some business to attend to. Afterwards, I stumbled upon a restaurant called "Manpuku Shokudo" near the station. I decided to try their "Ton-Teki Set Meal" with sauce for 900 yen. The system involved serving yourself rice from a jar and adding additional side dishes from a refrigerated case. The ton-teki was tough and lacked flavor, disappointing compared to the authentic ton-teki from Yokkaichi. Upon paying, I realized that this restaurant was affiliated with the lackluster yakiniku place "Enya" that I had visited before. It seems like I fell for it again.

I ordered Tonkatsu Curry Rice. The cutlet was freshly fried and very delicious. The curry rice had beef tendon in it and was tasty. There are many types of set meals available. You can have seconds of miso soup with the set meal. You can serve yourself rice, and have seconds. For the side dishes, you can go and take them from the case yourself.

A few residents of Nishigashi who are proud of Metro Center's backside have a restaurant called Manpuku Shokudo. It is owned by the same management as Yakiyakiya, a yakiniku restaurant in Metro Center. I recently read a review of a Senbero set drink here by a MyReviewer customer, but on this day, it was midday, so I had to reluctantly hold back. I decided to try the daily special menu item, the "Hoikoro Set Meal." As soon as I ordered and sat at a table, the sizzling sound of stir-frying began, and the dish was served in less than 5 minutes. I was given a ladle to serve myself rice. Refills seemed to be free. Onions, green peppers, pork belly, and cabbage were stir-fried just right. The seasoning wasn't too strong, but it went well with the rice. I think the taste of fermented black beans goes well with rice. The miso soup had young shoots and fried tofu. The pickles were daikon radish and pickled string beans. True to the restaurant's name, it was satisfying. Thank you for the meal. Next time, I want to try the Senbero set starting from 2 p.m.

Around 5:30 pm on a weekday in January, right near Nishi-Kasai Station. A clean white curtain restaurant caught my attention. I was hesitant to visit before because it seemed like a healthy dining place rather than a drinking spot. However, a local reviewer informed me that this place does serve alcohol, so I gathered the courage to go. The casual interior had a short counter on the right with two rows of seats and table seating on the left. There was a TV on the counter, but the sound might be hard to hear due to U-SEN playing. The customers varied from students to young professionals and food and drink enthusiasts. After finishing work and personal errands, I was hungry and decided to order the following: A. 1,000 Yen Set - 1,000 yen → 2 Highballs + Half-Portion Miso Curry with Mackerel Head (370 yen, tax excluded). The highballs were not too strong but not weak either. The mackerel miso was served quickly and was well-prepared with burdock and ginger, a perfect example of mackerel miso. I also ordered the curry, which was made with beef stewed in beer using domestic beef tendons. You could choose the level of spiciness, and I opted for normal. The curry was a dark brown color with shiny texture, tender beef, and onions. It had a thick consistency with a rich flavor, reminiscent of traditional home-cooked curry with a Western touch from the beef tendons. It was not too spicy, similar to the regular level at a popular curry chain. The staff mentioned that you could add extra spiciness for an additional cost, making it about two levels spicier than the regular. There were many menu items where you could add extra spiciness with the "Crazy" label. The prices were reasonable, with plenty of set meal options and the ability to order individual items. You could also keep a bottle, and white rice was refillable. The lady who seemed like a part-time worker was friendly and attentive, making it a perfect place for those who enjoy some interaction. They also took thorough measures for temperature checks and disinfection, ensuring a safe and secure environment. Just a note, they only accept cash for payment. It was a pleasant surprise to find such a nice restaurant near the station that caters to both drinkers and non-drinkers. I'm grateful to have discovered it, thank you very much. Thank you for the delicious meal.

Today, I had lunch at this diner in Nishikasai. I have been aware of this place for over 10 years, but never had the chance to visit until today. I wanted to try their curry, so I came here. I had heard that they offer a "Beer-Braised Wagyu Beef Sinew Curry," so I decided to try it out. They have a variety of wagyu sinew curry options such as beef (plain), fried chicken, croquette, chicken cutlet, pork cutlet, hamburger, oyster fry, and harami steak. Today, I chose the croquette option (670 yen, excluding tax). First, the curry part. You can clearly taste the beef sinew, and it's thick and delicious. The curry is really good. It's not too spicy, just right. And then, the croquette. It was a potato croquette. It reminded me of the kind you would find on top of soba at a standing soba shop, but that was what I was aiming for today. I wanted that slightly cheap feeling croquette. There were two fairly large potato croquettes. Just as the name suggests, I left feeling satisfied. This place offers a wide range of dishes besides curry, such as stir-fries, rice bowls, sashimi, all at very reasonable prices. You can even get a refill of rice. It truly feels like a popular diner that supports Nishikasai. The curry is delicious too.

I sometimes feel like eating here. They have a wide range of dishes, from nikujaga to sashimi, and even katsu curry. I had the harami yakiniku set meal. It's a typical set meal restaurant, but they used decent meat. The seating was sparse, perhaps due to the pandemic. I would like to visit again to support their business. Thank you for the meal!

Even after the state of emergency was lifted, I decided to order a takeout bento box from this restaurant for lunch under the theme of "eating at home". I ordered the "Hoikoro Bento" with less rice. After waiting for about 5-6 minutes, I picked up the bento and rode my bike back home, which was only a 2-minute ride away. The Hoikoro, filled with plenty of pork, cabbage, green peppers, onions, and leeks, had a rich flavor of sweet bean sauce that went well with the less rice. I also enjoyed adding some doubanjiang and grated fresh garlic from my fridge to give it a punchy flavor. Along with pickles like Nara-zuke and Shibazuke from my fridge, I had a delicious meal. It was very tasty. Thank you.

The fish of the day was red snapper, which the staff told me varies depending on the day's catch. It was cooked with daikon and ginger, but the flavors clashed and didn't suit my taste. At over 800 yen, I found it to be a bit pricey. I've had delicious dishes here before, so I think it's hit or miss. Thank you for the meal! (^人^)

This is a diner I stop by when I am working nearby. They have a variety of menu options, which is convenient. The beef curry had a rich, thick flavor and was delicious. The water was self-service.

I had some errands in Nishikasai and visited for the first time! It had been a while since I had small side dishes and went to a self-service teishoku restaurant! Water and rice were self-service! The side dishes were also self-service and rice refills were free. The staff were foreigners! I chose the mapo eggplant teishoku! It was delicious, but not as red or spicy as it looked in the picture! It reminded me of the mapo eggplant I had in Shin-Urayasu, which is not available anymore!

"Mampuku Shokudo" may not have huge portions, but the taste is surprisingly good. The Maabo Nasu set meal is priced at 750 yen. The flavor is just right and the rice is so good that I ended up having two bowls, even though one is usually enough for me. The atmosphere makes you want to eat more (laughs). The majority of customers are men, and some are also drinking, not just eating. The menu is very extensive, making it hard to decide what to order. Next time, I'll try the ginger pork. The curry with beef tendons also looks delicious. If you're tired of places like Yoshinoya, Ootoya, or Matsuya, give this place a try.
