Tokyu Oimachi Line/Tokyu Toyoko Line, nearest to Jiyugaoka Station. This place is not in Setagaya... oh, no! It's in Meguro Ward, right? It's a fashionable place, not the kind of place where guys like me frequent. Coffee roll ¥460, Limited-time Pineapple Buns ¥440, Bechamel Corn ¥500. Limited-time Pineapple Buns ¥440: These buns are filled with diced dried pineapple, giving it a lovely summer touch. The sweetness of the pineapple spreads throughout the bread, making it delicious till the last bite. The bread itself is soft and well-made, perfect for kids. But... the price is a bit high. Bechamel Corn ¥500: A savory bread made with bechamel sauce, corn, and seaweed. The bechamel sauce is homemade, made with butter, flour, and milk. It's a bit pricey at 500 yen. Overall, it's not a place for everyday use for someone like me, but the service is great.

I tried the pan fondue rack for 700 yen as a trial. It was similar to Campanule, but with a higher proportion of whole wheat and rye, giving it a heavier texture and weight. The weight was good, and it had a decent level of acidity. However, it had a taste similar to Campanule but also reminiscent of a cereal bar. Despite the price, it did not use wheat from France, only from Canada and America. I wish the price had been a bit lower considering this. I also bought the honey bread for 320 yen, which is similar to French bread but with 20% semolina. The baguette was 400 yen, but the honey bread was smaller at 320 yen. It had a noticeable sweetness from the honey, but I couldn't really taste any other flavors beyond that. The use of semolina was not very pronounced, as I couldn't quite distinguish its taste.

Since I started going gluten-free, I haven't had many opportunities to visit my favorite bakery. Prices for bread have been going up due to the wheat shortage, but I decided to splurge a bit at this bakery. The bread was a bit pricier than usual, with the exception of the basic loaf which I could afford at 500 yen. The French bread was priced at 400 yen. The bakery had a stylish atmosphere. I judge the quality of bread based on the ingredients and price of the basic loaf. I had the bread toasted in the morning. I opted for 6 slices, and it was quite dense with a creamy texture that filled me up. The wheat used was from Canada, not Japan. Perhaps due to the higher sugar content, the bread had a nice brown color. Overall, it was quite good. I wish I had also bought a loaf or some pastries.

A bakery near Jiyugaoka Station. The shop has a round table neatly displaying a variety of breads. Not a large selection, but they all look good. I ordered a pineapple bun and a Mexican-style sandwich. Lately, I've been into hard breads, so the pineapple bun caught my eye with its unique twist. It's sweet and perfect for summer. The Mexican-style sandwich had a strong cheese flavor and was very satisfying to eat.

I bought the normal and chocolate malasadas. The dough was fluffy and very delicious. The chocolate was thicker than I expected, with a crunchy texture that I liked. The staff's customer service was excellent, making it a place I would like to visit again.

The salt butter tiger bread is excellent. The top crust is crispy, while the overall texture is soft and slightly sweet. It's satisfying on its own, no need for any additional toppings. If anything, just a little olive oil or butter would be enough.

A variety of breads lined up neatly. I ordered a few that caught my eye. The staff kindly served them to me ❤️
Malasada Cream: The malasada dough is fluffy, and the cream is rich with just the right amount of sweetness. It's delicious!! Maybe even better than a malasada specialty shop!?
Malasada Choco: The chocolate coating on the surface of this cute malasada is beautiful. The chocolate is probably milk chocolate? It's sweet and tasty ❤️ The fluffy texture is also nice.
Coffee Roll: This one was honestly just average. It would have been nice if the coffee flavor was a bit sweeter.

In a small shop, there is a counter displaying delicious-looking bread. Inside, there is a staff member who takes your order, similar to a cake shop. The Malasada comes in three varieties with a fluffy dough and crispy chocolate topping. The bread has a subtle sweetness that complements the bitterness of the chocolate well. The Onion Focaccia (with a fancier name) is topped generously with sweet onions, making it a superb bread where onions take the spotlight. The prices may be a bit high for me, but it might be typical for Jiyugaoka.

Introducing the second round of bread I bought and ate. The Malasada Matcha Chocolate is fluffy and has a strong matcha flavor with a nice coating. The Red Bean & Cheese Frosting is sweet and delicious. There are still many other breads I want to try, like the one with onions. But it seems like the main focus is on sweet bread varieties. Thank you for the meal, I will definitely come back again.

This is my third visit to this bakery, and the staff's smile is lovely and very welcoming. It's conveniently located near the station, making it easy to stop by. I have tried their most popular butter rolls, croissants, and fig bread before, so this time I purchased the classic shokupan and salt bread.
- Salt Butter Tiger Bread: ¥302
It was sliced thick like a French bread, and the tiger pattern on the surface was delicious! The right amount of saltiness adds a nice touch. The texture is soft, similar to a roll or coppe pan.
- Pullman Bread: ¥982
I bought a half loaf (6 slices) which was moist and smooth as described. The crust is firm but soft.
Both were coated with fermented butter and reheated in the toaster. The salt butter bread was surprisingly good, but the shokupan was just okay, similar to regular supermarket bread. While the butter rolls and croissants were delicious, the others were a bit lacking. The prices are on the higher side, but it might be due to the convenient location.

I entered the store at 3:05 pm on a weekday, with one customer already inside. The system is to inform the staff of your order, and they will bring it to you. I decided on the March new item, the Matcha Chocolate Malasada for 320 yen, after seeing it on the sign. I enjoyed it while taking a break in a spot where I could see the nearby cherry blossoms. The crispy matcha chocolate had a nice balance of sweetness and slight bitterness, ultimately creating a delicious aroma of sweet chocolate. The bread was soft and different from a regular donut. It paired perfectly with the matcha chocolate, and was surprisingly good. Eating the malasada while admiring the cherry blossoms was a special experience. Although there were few options for bread, I imagine they are all delicious. Overall, it was a bit on the pricey side. Thank you for the meal!

In the evening, this shop tends to sell out quickly, but when I visited in the evening, there were many items available for purchase. The products mainly consist of everyday items and easy-to-eat, colorful bread. I think it's a convenient shop with a good selection of products.

■Butter Roll ¥394
The popular No.1 limited item in Jiyugaoka.
■Salt Butter Tiger ¥302
Recommended by the staff.
I passed by and thought it looked delicious, so I decided to go in. I chose the No.1 popular item and the staff-recommended Salt Butter Tiger. Both were pretty tasty. Unfortunately, I didn't really like the salt butter bread.
*Visited on Saturday around 12:30, no wait time, no line. Payment method: PayPay. Thank you for the meal!

This is my second visit to this bakery. I first stopped by around July and tried their most popular item, the Jiyugaoka butter roll. I didn't leave a review and I don't remember the taste exactly, but I do remember that it was delicious. So, the following month, I went back to buy my favorite croissant, but they were sold out. It was a weekday around 4 pm, but luckily they had plenty of other options available. I ended up buying a large and delicious-looking croissant and a fig bread with a cute fig-shaped design. I reheated both of them the next day. The fig bread was priced at ¥360 and it had plenty of Turkish white figs, a slightly crunchy exterior, and a perfect texture that wasn't too hard or too soft. I sliced it, spread butter on it, and topped half with honey, which was a perfect combination. The croissant, priced at ¥334, used domestic fermented butter. I sliced it horizontally, spread a generous amount of butter, and toasted it. The croissant was light and airy, more like a Danish pastry than a crispy croissant. Overall, the prices were a bit high, but considering the location near the station, it's understandable. The bakery offers a good variety of bread and pastries, but nothing extraordinary for the price.

The store was filled with beautifully displayed bread, and the staff recommended and explained the bread options to me. I knew about this place before but always passed by. Today, since there were no customers, I decided to go in and found that the prices were quite high. I had already bought some baked goods and daifuku, so I opted for simple bread this time. I bought the Jiyugaoka butter roll, salt butter tiger, and focaccia. The salt butter tiger was delicious with the salt on top adding a nice touch.

Croissant was light and fluffy, but not my favorite type. The salted butter had a not-so-tasty dough. The apple pie was delicious! It was a shame that the individually wrapped packaging was made of plastic. The sandwich bread might be tastier.

The competition for bread in Jiyugaoka is so fierce that you can't help but worry about the quality of the top shops as a customer. Well, this shop, which is the closest to the station and provides high-quality products, will be used frequently. The Masarada Donuts are bread-based, but well, they balance it out by coating it with a ridiculously thick layer of chocolate. Other than that, it's a delicious shop, haha.

Croissant was really good. The Wenzhou mandarin Danish had whole small mandarins on top and was very delicious. They have a variety of breads for sale and I would like to go back to buy more. Thank you for the meal, I will visit again.

After visiting Jiyugaoka Burger, I went to OZ bread to buy some bread. The staff helped me pick out each item. I bought "Mashed Potato & Bacon" and "Croque Monsieur" for my eldest daughter who was coming home from afternoon cram school. For snacks, I got "Wenzhou Mandarin Danish", "Sweet Red Bean & Cheese Frosting", and "Cinnamon Roll". For breakfast, I got the most popular "Jiyugaoka Butter Roll" and a "Croissant". I also bought the cheese-filled "Volcano". When my hungry eldest daughter arrived, she quickly devoured the Croque Monsieur and Mashed Potato & Bacon, exclaiming how delicious they were. My second daughter tried the Cinnamon Roll for the first time and loved it, saying the cream was sweet and tasty. My eldest daughter, who loves red bean paste, enjoyed the Sweet Red Bean & Cheese Frosting, while I had the Wenzhou Mandarin Danish. The cute round mandarin on top of the Danish was sweet and delicious. The custard cream and the fluffy texture of the Danish complemented each other well. I'm looking forward to tomorrow morning's breakfast.
