The shop run by the younger brother of director Hayao Miyazaki is known for its Totoro cream puffs, but during the summer season, they also offer a limited edition "Ponyo on the Peach." It is only available on weekends and holidays, with a limit of 2 per person and no reservations allowed. I pre-ordered Totoro cream puffs and visited the shop at opening time. Located just a few minutes' walk from Odakyu Line Setagaya-Daita Station, the shop is in a quiet residential area. There was a long line of people waiting, whether for dining in or takeout. Just before opening, the line was split into two for those who wanted to dine in or takeout, with most people opting for takeout to get the Ponyo cream puffs. The shop, which seems to be a renovated detached house, is decorated with various Ghibli characters, making it a fun experience. It felt like being at the Ghibli Museum in Mitaka. I bought 6 Totoro cream puffs (currently available in 4 flavors) and 2 Ponyo cream puffs. Opening the box revealed a Ghibli world that was incredibly cute and brought a smile to my face. The Totoro cream puffs, with their whimsical faces, had a firm choux pastry to maintain their shape, filled with custard, chocolate, or seasonal blueberry yogurt cream. The Ponyo cream puffs, made of white bean paste, were slightly sweet and chewy, filled with white peach and lemon jelly, milk pudding, white peach jelly, and plum jelly, with crushed fruit for a refreshing and delightful taste. Despite my initial low expectations, both treats were surprisingly delicious, made with high-quality organic ingredients and great attention to detail. The prices are reasonable considering the character designs, and the operation of the shop was excellent. Many foreign tourists also visited the shop. If you're a Ghibli fan, this wonderful studio is a must-visit place.

I walked tekktekk from the bakery in Shimokitazawa to the next one. Before reaching the storefront, I could see a line forming. The line on the right was for the cafe and the one on the left was for takeout. The entrance was narrow, so I couldn't see inside at all. After about 10 people ahead of me, I finally caught a glimpse inside and realized that everyone was lining up for the bakery on the first floor. I thought I was in line for the bakery, but I didn't want to cut in line, so I continued and bought just one item. No wonder there were a few foreigners here... The Totoro cream puff with custard for ¥520 (tax included) was so cute. Depending on the flavor, Totoro had different items attached to it - blueberry yogurt for the pink hat, chocolate for the blue hat, mango cream for the yellow hat, and custard for the green leaf. They served it on a paper plate for immediate consumption. There are benches on the way back to the station, so it's recommended to go there and enjoy it. The cream puff with two layers of custard cream was delicious. You can pay with PayPay.

On Sundays at 1:00 PM, there is a one-hour wait, but you can wait in the shade. The wait is long. The first floor offers takeout, while the second floor is a cafe. The first floor has no wait time. The cafe only has Ghibli-themed cream puffs. The bread is also delicious. There were many foreign customers. The menu is accessible through smartphones, and it includes English, which is helpful. The cream puffs were cute and delicious.

The cream puffs are so delicious! The shop is small but very cute. The Totoro cream puffs are especially adorable. There are many paintings displayed inside the shop. Although they mainly sell cream puffs, the cookies are also recommended! They are extremely cute and make great souvenirs that will surely be appreciated!!!

I revisited after a long time!! Since it's summer vacation and the kids are around, I went to my relatives' house within walking distance. The mango, blueberry, and custard flavors were delicious. The yogurt-based blueberry and mango cream was refreshing and tasty. However, it's even more crowded than before. Even if you go early in the morning, there's almost no custard left. They said they add more after 5 pm, so they want you to come then. I went and managed to get some!!

I went there before lunch. The charming Western-style building creates a unique atmosphere and increases expectations. The first floor is for takeout only, while the second floor is a cafe. At this time, there were about 3-4 groups of customers waiting for seats. When I entered the first floor, there were many Totoro figures lined up, which was exciting. I asked the staff for permission to take a photo. They mentioned that there had just been a cancellation, so I purchased a chocolate and the staff's recommended custard. The choux pastry was firm, and the custard cream had a slightly nostalgic taste and was generously filled. It was delicious!

The other day, I visited "Shirahige no Choux Cream Koubou" in Setagaya Daeda because they are offering a cute "Ponyo on Peach" for 600 yen on weekends and holidays in August. Ponyo is made of shiratama flour and the base consists of layers of white peach and lemon jelly, fresh white peach, milk pudding white peach jelly, and plum jelly. I also bought the Totoro Choux Cream with summer limited mango cream and peach cream (each 460 yen). They are all so cute that it almost feels like a waste to eat them. For those planning to visit, on the day I went (August 6th, Sunday), the store opened at 10:30 but I arrived at 9:00 and was the first in line. The line grew to 5 people by 9:30, 12 people by 10:00, and 15 people by 10:15. Each person can purchase a maximum of 2 items, and they only had 13 items available that day. With a limit of 2 items per person, the first 7 people in line were able to make a purchase. The number of items available for sale varies each day, with 10 items available the previous Saturday. In addition to the Setagaya Daeda location, there is also a shop in Kichijoji where you can purchase these items, with a similar situation. Also, please note that the cafe "TOLO coffee&bakery" on the 2nd floor is a separate company from the workshop, and while you can enjoy Totoro there, Ponyo is not available.

I tried Totoro cream puffs at the "Shirahige Cream Puff Factory". The first floor sells cream puffs, and the second floor is a cafe. The interior is decorated with Ghibli character plush toys, perfect for Ghibli fans. The cream puffs come in chocolate, custard, and strawberry flavors, and you can also get them to go. The Totoro cream puffs lined up in the display case were so cute that I hesitated to eat them. They were light and easy to eat, and delicious. I think they would make a great gift or souvenir.

Located in Yoda, Setagaya, there is a shop that specializes in selling "Totoro cream puffs". They have two branches, one in Kichijoji which is takeout only, and the other in Yoda. The shop was opened in 2008 by the first official Whitebeard who had a contract with Studio Ghibli. There are 9 different types of Totoro cream puffs available, with seasonal varieties changing. This time, we tried the following 4: Custard Cream (520 yen) - a mix of vanilla bean custard cream and whipped cream, Blueberry Yogurt Cream (560 yen) - a tangy blend of homemade blueberry jam and Hokkaido yogurt, Chocolate Cream (520 yen) - a smooth mix of two types of chocolate, Mango Cream (560 yen) - a refreshing blend of mango jam, passion fruit, fresh cream, and sour cream. All of them have a same-day expiration date. Highly recommended for Ghibli fans. Thank you for the meal.

This is a shop where you can buy cute Totoro cream puffs. The second floor is a cafe, but it was crowded so I decided to get takeout. The exterior of the shop is full of Ghibli's world view. The cream puff filling is blueberry yogurt, refreshing and easy to eat!

I finally got to try the Totoro cream puffs that I've been wanting to eat. I purchased them in June in strawberry and blueberry flavors. In the latter half of June, on a hot summer day, I rode my bike to the shop. The scenery I saw had a Ghibli-like atmosphere, with a large tree providing shade in front of the shop and a pleasant breeze that made it hard to believe I was still in the city. At first, I had to wait in line, but I was able to buy them just in time around 3:00 PM. The strawberry and blueberry flavors had a nice balance of acidity and sweetness, making them easy for adults to enjoy as well.

If you are coming from afar, reservations are a must. It often runs out after 2 pm on weekends. Upon arrival, start by checking in at the second-floor store. Then, when your turn is near, get the cream puffs. This is the best, so be sure to try it out!

Hayao Miyazaki's brother and his wife run a cream puff shop near Setagaya-Daita Station. The first floor is a cake shop, and the second floor is a cafe. The shop is always crowded, so I usually pass by, but I decided to stop by on a rainy weekend. The line was for the cafe on the second floor, but I was able to enter the cream puff shop quickly. The shop is decorated with "My Neighbor Totoro" character goods, which fans will love. They offer several types of baked goods, but the main attraction is the cream puffs. They have custard, chocolate, and strawberry flavors. I bought custard and chocolate to go. The shop had many foreign tourists, and the staff spoke English well. The cream puffs were difficult to cut because they were so cute, so I just took a bite. The cream was fluffy and delicious. While it may not compare to pastries made by famous pastry chefs, Totoro cream puffs have their own charm. I found out that they are easy to buy, so I want to give them as gifts to my friends next time. I also want to try the cafe next time! There is also a shop in Kichijoji, by the way!

【Good Points】 - Both the location and the interior of the shop allow you to experience the world of Ghibli. - I tried the custard flavor, and while the taste was good, I was more charmed by its cuteness. - The atmosphere is pleasant, so even the wait time is not a bother. - The place is incredibly Instagrammable. 【Points to Note】 - Payment is only accepted in cash or PayPay. - If you want to eat inside the shop, be prepared to wait in line for a long time. - Since it's located in a residential area, it's important to be considerate of the surroundings.

Holiday visit. The eat-in area had a long wait line. The take-out side also had people constantly, but the turnover was fast. Both eat-in and take-out had many foreign customers. The service was polite. Totoro Cream Puff Custard 520 yen Totoro Cream Puff Strawberry 560 yen The puff pastry is quite firm, maybe to maintain the shape. The cream inside is delicious in a standard way. The appearance is the most striking feature.

I visited the shop around 4 pm on Saturday, taking a walk from Shimokitazawa. The exterior of the shop expresses the world of Ghibli, and when you enter, Totoro welcomes you. For Ghibli fans, just this is enough to lift your spirits, but characters are recreated in various scenes throughout the shop. The cream puffs I was looking for were sold out, but I bought some cookies instead. Thank you for the meal.

Overall score is calculated by multiplying the ratings for food/taste by 4, service by 2, atmosphere by 2, and cost performance by 2, then adding them together and dividing by 10. The individual rating scale ranges from 0.5 to 5, with an average of 3.0 being considered "normal". If a category is not mentioned, it is assumed to be average.

On this day, my daughter is coming so I bought my favorite choux cream as a souvenir. There were amazing foreign customers. I wonder if Totoro has become popular overseas? I've never lined up to buy before, but there was a line of 7 or 8 people. There were also customers outside for Totoro coffee. There are no seasonal limited editions, just 3 types: custard, strawberry, and chocolate. I was more attracted to how cute they looked rather than the taste of the dough or cream. We all said sorry while gazing at them and finally ate them.

Here is another shop that I saw on "Ariyoshi-sanpo" in Shimokitazawa. The shop is called "Shirahige no Choux Cream Koubou". It is located in Setagaya-Daita, which is more accessible than Shimokitazawa. Their specialty is cute sweets such as Totoro choux cream (officially approved by Studio Ghibli), and they also have an eat-in area on the second floor. When we visited after lunch, we could choose from only two flavors - strawberry or chocolate. I chose strawberry, while my companion bought both flavors. I hesitated to put a fork into the cute Totoro, but eventually I split it in half and took a bite. The choux pastry is dense and has a texture more similar to baked goods. To achieve the Totoro shape, it seems that the recipe requires a larger amount of eggs, so it's best to think of it as this type of sweet. The strawberry cream with a sweet and sour fruitiness stood out and was delicious. There was no unnecessary sweetness, and it was moist and light, making it disappear quickly. Despite being a character-themed sweet, it has a genuine taste. I am not a fan of whipped cream, so I only buy sweets like this once a year, but I was relieved with the cute and delicious Totoro. Thank you for the meal.

<Usage> Holiday, after 14:00 Isn't it too cute? The cafe run by Hayao Miyazaki's brother and his wife is amazing. It was a rainy day, but the cafe on the second floor had a wait of over an hour. When we arrived, there were only two types of Totoro left, but we were able to buy them for takeout right away. It may look a bit eerie when taken from below, but it's so cute. <Bought Totoro> - Chocolate 520 yen A light and crispy choux pastry filled with plenty of rich chocolate cream. It has a simple and not too sweet taste for adults. - Strawberry 560 yen A rich cream that resembles strawberry mousse.

Cute! A story about going to buy cream puffs that make you happy just by looking at them. On a rainy day, I went to Setagaya Daita. Where is this place? The shop is located in a place that has a forest-like atmosphere that matches the image of Totoro. Since it's raining, I expected it to be empty, but I was surprised to see a line. Almost everyone in line was foreign. What is this line for? The first floor is for takeout and the second floor is a cafe. Which line is this? There was some writing near the entrance, so I decided to wait in line. Some time later, we reached the place with the writing. I forgot to take a picture, but it said something like "The first floor and second floor are different shops, and the shop on the first floor is on the left." Hmm. So, what is this line for? We couldn't figure it out, so I decided to leave the line and go inside to see for myself. The line I was in was for the cafe on the second floor. The shop inside was empty except for one customer, but for some reason, there were several foreign customers near the entrance. Were they waiting to buy cream puffs? "I don't know," I said. In the end, without knowing the answer, I left the line with the person behind me and successfully made my purchase. I felt like I had a little adventure. It's not easy to meet Totoro, huh? The cream puffs were only available in strawberry flavor, so I bought the strawberry one and some baked goods. The cream puff had a firm texture and the strawberry flavor was not too sweet, with a nice balance of sweetness and sourness. The cookies were also delicious, with the taste of the ingredients shining through. Most importantly, they were cute! When I opened the box, it looked like Totoro was having a meeting, which was adorable! 500 yen for a cream puff is expensive, but considering the cuteness, it's worth it! I would like to try other flavors too.
