★2016・4 revisited
At Ministop, in addition to the regular original bento corner, there is a corner where hand-made bento and side dishes are lined up with a strong homemade feel. While the regular bento is enjoyable, today I opted for the meat shumai bento. It consists of 5 large shumai on a bed of rice with sliced kelp tsukudani on top, a simple and satisfying mini bento (lol). I also got 3 pieces of fried chicken as a side, which tasted better than before and provided a nice support when I got a bit tired of the shumai. Overall, Ministop is a fun convenience store, especially when it comes to bento and yakisoba. Today, my favorite sauce katsu sausage was sold out, and I was told it's quite popular at the store (lol).
★2015・11 revisited
On my way back from Seijo Gakuen to Karasuyama, I stopped by Ministop as I was feeling a bit hungry. It was close to 3 o'clock, and there were plenty of bento and bread options, making it hard to choose. I saw my favorite sauce yakisoba as well (lol). However, eating at odd hours makes beer taste bad later, so I resisted the temptation and settled for the "sauce katsu sausage" and "soy sauce fried chicken" (lol). The katsu sausage was as delicious as ever, but the fried chicken was a bit like nuggets and didn't taste as good, unfortunately (lol).
★2014・6 revisited
Today, I had to go to Seijo Gakuen for some errands, and even though it was a bit early for lunch, I couldn't resist the urge for Ministop's yakisoba. I hurried straight to the bento corner! There were onigiri, sandwiches, makunouchi bento, pasta, hiyashi chuka, hiyashi udon, etc., but oh no, what's this!? My beloved yakisoba was not there! When I asked the staff, they said it was sold out (tears and laughter). It seems that yakisoba fans know about it, huh (lol). So, I had to choose between a bento with a lot of side dishes or this "large-sized Napolitan - 400g." I ate it at the eat-in corner, and the noodles were thick, making it feel like eating ketchup-flavored tsukemen. There was barely any filling, with only two slices of onion left even after eating more than half of it, so it gets a bit boring! The hamburger on top helped a lot, but I ended up leaving the pasta (lol). Ministop is all about homemade bento or yakisoba, right? Gotta be careful (lol).
★Located along Seijo Street, which connects Chitose-Karasuyama and Sengawa to Seijo Gakuen, this place has been around for a long time. There aren't many shops nearby, so it's popular among local residents and drivers. On a scorching hot Saturday afternoon, I went in to buy a cold drink and happened to see the "large-sized sauce yakisoba" that I had a good experience with at the Nagayama store before! There was only one left, so I couldn't resist getting it! I also bought my favorite "fried chicken" along with it. I had it as a car snack, and seriously, the yakisoba here is incredibly delicious, with chewy noodles, toppings, and unsweetened sauce coming together perfectly. Of course, the fried chicken is also good, but for those who think all convenience stores are the same, I highly recommend trying this one. While each store like 7-Eleven, FamilyMart, Lawson, Sunkus, Yamazaki, Three F, etc., may have slightly different flavors, I think there's nothing quite like this one, it's really delicious. Probably, maybe... (lol). And in the supermarket category, the king is the "large-sized sauce yakisoba" at Mirai Co-op Mitaka Higashi Hachido Road store, it's exquisite. It's even better when eaten with a menchi-katsu as a side (lol). ^_^;
