Kuramae is becoming a stylish town, and when it comes to baked goods, this shop stands out. The taste is great, and the atmosphere of the shop is also recommended. - Ordered Items: Honey Cookie (Tochi) 400 yen A beautiful swirl cookie that catches the eye. The rich sweetness of honey with a crispy texture. The cookies at this shop are really delicious. Scone (Pineapple and Macadamia Nuts) 360 yen Butter aroma, sweetness of dried pineapple. A crumbly texture that is also delicious. Both items are a bit pricey, but they are worth the price in terms of taste. Miscellaneous Notes: The interior of the shop is beautifully and mysteriously created with antique furniture and accessories. It has a somewhat otherworldly atmosphere.

We visited this bakery during lunchtime with two people for the first time. It is located very close to Kuramae Station, making it a convenient location. We decided to visit on a whim because the nearby takeout lunch place had a long wait. While we had the impression that there is usually a long line at this bakery, we were able to get in right away on this visit as there were only a few groups ahead of us. They had a wide variety of baked goods, and although the prices were not cheap, they were not overly expensive either. We purchased two items on this day, and both had great flavor and texture, making them delicious. This bakery is a great place to buy souvenirs or treats for yourself. We definitely want to visit again in the future.

Kuramae Station or Tawaramachi Station. It is located along Kokusai-dori. I found out that Hangetsu had moved, so I decided to visit. It's been about 4 years since I last visited due to the pandemic. Today's purchases: mango and cashew nuts, yogurt scone for 360 yen. The scone is more like a rich and large cookie, very delicious. Maple madeleine for 260 yen. It's fluffy and big with a nice maple scent. Thank you for the meal.

When you come near Kura-mae, you can't help but visit this place! Every time I come, I end up buying too much. There are so many varieties and they are all delicious! I buy a variety of items and enjoy a little bit every day. It's so satisfying, even without heating it up, but it's even tastier when warmed up and becomes soft and moist. I tried warming it up with a Balmuda toaster at home! On the 2nd floor up the stairs, there is a cafe called Hangetsu, where the seasonal sweets are exquisite. I especially recommend the rare cheesecake! I love the beautiful cafes and calming streets of Kura-mae. I'll definitely go back soon!

Around 4:00 PM on Sunday, there was a little wait, but since it was for takeout, I was able to purchase my items relatively quickly. They have a system where the staff takes a picture for you. I bought the following items: Oolong Tea Madeleine for 260 yen, Brandy Cake for 450 yen, Galette Bretonne for 420 yen, Chocolate Rosette for 400 yen, and Chai Cookie for 400 yen. I bought five items in total, which came to a total of 1,940 yen. Everything was kind and delicious!

Shinonome, a confectionery shop near Kuramae Station, has a stylish atmosphere with a counter lined with baked goods and bread. The shop's Instagram is also stylish and captivating. It is a popular shop where there is often a line to enter, so it's a good idea to bring a parasol in the summer. The simple and stylish cloth bag that can be purchased for 500 yen inside the shop is also cute. The shortbread cookies are fluffy and you can endlessly eat them. The shape is cute and makes you want to display them on a stylish plate. The whole wheat cookies have a crunchy texture and a strong flavor that makes you feel like you're really eating a cookie. They use brown sugar, giving it a gentle taste. This shop makes you want to try various types of cookies endlessly. They also have online sales, but you need to purchase quickly after they announce on Instagram as they often sell out. Be sure to check their Instagram for updates.

I finally decided to visit a shop that I had been curious about for a while. I was looking for some baked goods as gifts, not for myself. I was intrigued by the coconut macarons and almond croquants that I saw on Instagram. I walked about 1 kilometer from Asakusabashi Station to Kuramae. It was a nice walk after eating tonkatsu, just the right amount of exercise. Kuramae towards Asakusa on Kokusai-dori is filled with shops like zakka stores and cafes, and many businesses seem to be thriving. It might be a model example of successful town revitalization in the downtown area. There were about 6 people waiting in front of the shop, and the inside was also full. All the people waiting were women, and I actually walked past the shop at first, feeling a bit embarrassed. But since I had come all this way, I didn't want to leave without trying, so I shamefully went to the end of the line. The turnover was quite good, and we didn't have to wait too long to get in. The staff were all very friendly. I couldn't take any photos, of course. I bought a plain scone, a pineapple and macadamia nut scone, an apricot and vanilla bean pound cake, a rusk scone, two lemon mint cookies, a honey cookie, a maple cookie, a brown sugar kinako cookie, two pineapple and Malibu cookies, and a galette bretonne. It all came to just over 5,000 yen. I tend to lean towards things my daughter likes... I had the pineapple scone for lunch the next day. The scones were the kind that crumble gently. It's been a while since I had this type of scone. The dry pineapple didn't overpower, and the occasional texture of the macadamia nuts was interesting. The lemon mint cookies have quite a strong mint flavor. Mint is quite unusual, isn't it? They had a nice buttery smell, and the sweetness was quite restrained. That's all I ate myself. The rest was for the staff, not my daughter. They were a convenient size for them to eat during work. Everyone was happy wIth them. They have an organic feel and are not overly sweet, making them popular with women. The price range is reasonable, and it's no wonder they are popular with women. I'm not sure, but I think they probably didn't have the coconut macarons and almond croquants in stock... I'm not confident, but... probably. They seem to be available for mail order, so I will order them next time. The cookies have a shelf life of about 2 weeks, making them perfect for small gifts. The walk back to Asakusabashi Station was also pleasant, despite the strong sunlight. It was a nice Sunday.

I had some errands in the Asakusa area and wanted to prepare some souvenirs, so I decided to stop by this shop where my family had bought something before. After choosing some sweets for gifts, I also got some treats for myself. This time, I purchased Pineapple and Macadamia Nut Scone for 360 yen and Honey Cookie for 400 yen. The Pineapple and Macadamia Nut Scone was crunchy and had plenty of macadamia nuts, giving a nice texture. The flavor of pineapple was also well balanced. The Honey Cookie was crispy and had a pleasant sweetness from the honey. It looked unique and caught my eye right away. It had been a while since I visited Kuramae, and I was surprised to see that there were more stylish shops now. I would like to take my time exploring the area again.

I have visited this place many times. I visited on Sunday at 14:10. I waited about 10 minutes before ordering. This popular bakery in Kuramae is a must-visit with a wide variety of baked goods and simple yet refined flavors that I love! The interior has a stylish, clean feel with a wood tone. Previously, it was a two-story shop with "Kashiya Shinonome" on the first floor and "Kissa Hangetsu" on the second floor, but "Kissa Hangetsu" has since moved to a location closer to Asakusabashi Station on the same street. The menu includes cookies, scones, pound cakes, and more, each with a wide range of flavors. Some of the sweets contain alcohol, so be careful if you are not a fan. --- What I ate: - Whole wheat cookie 450 yen - Banana granola 460 yen "Whole wheat cookie": I usually buy this when I come to this shop. It has a simple taste and a crunchy texture, a classic cookie! It comes in a pack of 6, which is a good deal for the amount you get. "Banana granola": Granola with banana pieces and oats. The banana aroma is strong. I tried it with unsweetened yogurt! The sweetness of the granola paired well with the unsweetened yogurt and was delicious! --- [Foodie Route of the Day] Kuramae Station ↓ McLean-OLD BURGER STAND-(Hamburgers/Kuramae) ↓ Yurikoen (Cafe/Kuramae) ↓ Kashiya Shinonome (Bakery/Kuramae) ↓ TRASPARENTE La Cartolina (Bread/Kuramae) ↓ TET Brasserie & Cafe (Italian/Kinshicho)

I was finally able to visit the popular Shinonome-san. Last time, I came on a Wednesday, which happened to be their regular holiday. This time, I arrived on a Sunday around 12:30. There were about 3 groups waiting outside, but soon enough, I was guided inside where I could see today's lineup of cookies, scones, pound cakes, and more. I almost ended up buying all the different types of baked goods. I chose a jasmine pound cake, rose and cranberry madeleine, oolong tea cookie, and hojicha, chai, and cheese cookies. They were all delicious! You can really feel the care put into making them. I look forward to visiting again to try different flavors.

First visit. Not one of the stations on the Rinkai Line running between Osaki and Shin-Kiba, but a western confectionery store in Kuramae. Although it is a western confectionery store, they do not sell fresh confections. It is a shop specializing in baked confections. It used to have a cafe attached, but due to its overwhelming popularity, the cafe has been relocated to a nearby location. By the way, am I the only one who thinks that "Shinonome" looks cooler in kanji rather than in katakana? After having lunch in Midori-cho, I took a stroll to Kuramae to experience the scent of Edo. Oh man, it's been a while since I last came, but Kuramae has changed a lot. When the old Kokugikan was there, it had an atmosphere of a fighting sports town, but now it's a town with no downtown feel, lined with stylish cafes. The Edo charm has really faded away. The destination, Shinonome, is one of those stylish establishments. When you enter the neatly arranged store, it feels like your posture naturally straightens. It doesn't really feel like a confectionery store! It used to have long lines, but perhaps due to the relocation of the cafe section, there was no line even on a weekend afternoon, and I was able to enter smoothly. They only sell baked confections. So there's no excitement of looking at a showcase of fresh cakes. I purchased a few items and enjoyed them with coffee at home. The items I purchased were: Florentine (510 yen), Maple Cookie (400 yen), Chocolate Cookie (400 yen), and Black Tea Cookie (400 yen). In terms of the cookies, to put it negatively, they lack distinctive features. However, while I was thinking "Hmm" when eating the first one, by the time I was eating the second one, I was like "Oh?!" and before I knew it, I was eating them one after another. They may not have a strong personality, but they are mild, high-quality cookies that everyone would find delicious without getting tired of them. They quietly work well. My favorite was the Maple Cookie. Despite its name, it is not too sweet, and at first, I was like "???" but as I ate it, I noticed the subtle sweetness seeping out from the powder. The Chocolate Cookie was also well done. The Black Tea Cookie had too strong of a milk flavor, overpowering the tea flavor (it was Earl Grey) and didn't appeal to me. Maybe a different tea leaf would have been better for a milk tea flavor? The Florentine was not bad, with a mild sweetness and texture, but personally, I preferred the cookies. I don't often go to the Kuramae area, but if I'm nearby, I would like to visit again. As long as there's no line.

I found this shop near Kuramae through a search on Tabelog. It's a Western-style confectionery shop with high rankings. I was curious about the rating, so I visited before 5 pm. They have a lot of flavors like hojicha and black tea, which I liked. The hojicha cookies were crumbly and delicious! The honey cookies had just the right amount of sweetness.

There is a bakery in Kuramae. I passed by the store before and saw customers lining up outside, but this time, due to heavy rain, there were only two people inside the store, so I was able to purchase easily. There were various baked goods displayed on the counter, and you can order the items you want from the staff. I bought scones this time. They had lemon scones and whole wheat scones. The lemon scones had finely chopped lemon peel, giving them a slightly sweet and sour taste. The scones were not too hard or crumbly, but had a slightly firm outer layer and a moist inside, making them perfect for afternoon tea. I only bought two types this time, but I would like to purchase more if I have the chance.

I went around 4 pm on Sunday and didn't have to wait in line much. Maybe because the cafe moved? There were quite a few sweets left. I bought hojicha cookies and ginger and cardamom biscotti this time. I always end up buying tea-flavored sweets. The cookies were thick and crispy, with a nice balance of butter and hojicha flavor. The biscotti had a ginger aroma, with a restrained sweetness that was more for adults. They were simple but not too simple. Each of Shinonome's sweets has its own personality, and I feel like going to buy them every time I'm nearby.

I was introduced to this place by a friend on a Saturday afternoon. It was raining, so there were no customers inside the store, which was lucky for me. By the time I left, there were a few groups of customers waiting in line. The smell of butter filling the store made me want to order everything on the menu. I feel like it would be dangerous to come here during my once-a-month food craving explosion. I bought cocoa cookies, hojicha cookies, and galette bretonne (I can't remember exactly). The hojicha cookies were new to me, but they had a delicious toasted hojicha aroma. I thought they would make a great souvenir, but I heard that there is usually a long line, so it's better to visit with some extra time!

There are many small and cute cakes available. They may not last long, but they would make a great gift if you can get them right away. They have a simple taste rather than a heavy buttery one. The texture is crumbly but not dry, each crumb is moist. I was curious about how they make it. Despite being a takeout shop, I had to wait for about 30 minutes on a Saturday afternoon, so it might be better to go when you have some extra time.

I lined up but was able to get in within 10 minutes, probably because it was a weekday. There are many interesting shops in Kuramae. I wanted to try the cafe here, but it didn't seem like I could get in at all. The pastries we lined up for could even be bought with a stroller inside. The staff are also very kind. And the cookies were too delicious.

Located about a 5-minute walk from Kuramae Station, this Western confectionery shop used to have a popular cafe called Hangetsu on the second floor, but it has since relocated nearby. I visited on a Sunday evening to buy some sweets. The madeleines were sold out, but there were plenty of cookies available even in the evening. I purchased the Chai Cookie and Florentine. The Chai Cookie had a crisp texture with a moderate chewiness, not too crumbly. The chai flavor was aromatic but not overpowering, with a subtle spiciness that was elegant and not too strong. Personally, I would have liked a bit more spice, but this level might be just right for most people. The Florentine was a thick type with a substantial almond topping that I enjoyed, as I like the moist, chewy texture. It had a nice touch of saltiness and a good aroma. The base was also thick but not too hard, with a crunchy texture. However, it's the type that crumbles easily when bitten or broken, so it's not suitable for eating on a friend's carpet. Overall, it was delicious, and I would like to try their pound cake next time.

This is a Western confectionery shop located a 3-minute walk from Kuramae Station. The exterior is stylish, making it easy to spot right away. Inside the shop, the counter is lined with bread and baked goods. The interior is also very stylish. I purchased the following items: - Galette Bretonne 400 yen: Made with plenty of fermented butter, it has a rich buttery flavor and a light, crumbly texture. - Lemon Mint Cookie 390 yen: Refreshing mint and lemon aroma with a hint of bitterness, providing a clean and crisp taste. It has a crunchy and firm texture. - Peanut and Chocolate Cookie 390 yen: Filled with chocolate chips and peanuts. It has a crispy and crumbly texture. The combination of chocolate chips and peanuts is a classic. All the confections were delicious. There are also many varieties, so I would like to go back next time to try different sweets.

I bought lemon and mint cookies and kumquat and cocoa nib scones. I usually don't like scones because they make my mouth dry, but I bought one and it was delicious with a slightly moist and sweet dough. I would love to buy scones again when I visit Kuramae.
