Today I visited Ginza, Higashi-Ginza, and Ginza Ichome areas. Ginza is a prime location within a prime location, with that building in the center with a clock. I like the oval shape of the building, especially when it shines in the sunlight. Near that clock tower is "Wako Cake & Chocolate Shop". This is a patisserie and chocolatier run by the prestigious Wako brand. Clocks are almost obsolete now that smartphones can tell time, but there still seems to be a demand for them. I wonder if they are more of a fashion accessory now. I personally don't like wearing flashy watches because they give off a sense of intimidation, but maybe there are cuter options out there. It wouldn't be surprising to see collaboration products with popular anime like Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, featuring a "The World" watch that can stop time... (all while still rejecting watches). Inside the Wako building, there is a patisserie and chocolatier on the 1st floor, and a cafe on the 2nd floor. Some people seem to post about visiting the cafe here, but it makes me wonder if the management checks these posts. The interior of the shop is very spacious, with a section for baked goods and chocolates towards the back, and a cake showcase in the front. Since it's Ginza, there are many gift items available. Here are the items I tried: Pudding, Melon Shortcake, Banana Tart, Delice Chocolat, Passion Passion, Lemon Pie, Pineapple Jelly, Pineapple Pie. The cakes are priced around 1,000 yen each, reflecting the high-end and special nature of this patisserie in the heart of Ginza.

I went to buy a cake for a celebration and was planning to go to Mitsukoshi, but I saw from outside that there were still some cakes left at the Wako cake shop, so I decided to go in. They had one last popular shortcake with plenty of fruits called "Jardin Fleur (15cm diameter, size 5) for 5,616 yen including tax," so I bought it without hesitation. The sponge was light and fluffy. The cream had a refreshing aftertaste and a light taste. It was filled with plenty of fruits such as colorful strawberries, kiwis, mangoes, oranges, blueberries, and raspberries. The edible flowers sprinkled on top were also cute. The fruits were even inside the sponge layers, making it a very satisfying dish. The taste was similar to the shortcake at my favorite cake shop near Karuizawa Station, "La Taie," and in Tokyo, I would say this place, "Capitol Tokyu Origami," and the "French Pound House Yamatogo Honpo" in Sugamo are my top three choices.

For my son's birthday, I ordered a whole cream cake from here. As expected from a popular shop, there were many customers in line at the storefront. I chose the Jardin Fleur cake, which has a fluffy sponge and light, smooth cream. It was loaded with fruits like strawberries, kiwi, mango, orange, and raspberries, making it difficult to divide up because of the variety of flavors and colors. The cake was packed with fruits inside as well. The taste was truly exceptional.

I bought the Pineapple Pie from Wako Cake and Chocolate Shop as I was passing by. It uses domestic pineapples. The taste is good, but the most delicious one is still the Chestnut Pie. I can't wait for the season to come.

I received some Wagokoro jellies as souvenirs. They were refreshing and smooth, perfect for summer. I love snacks that are not only visually appealing but also have a lot of thought put into them. The melon and blueberry flavors were perfect for summer, and the layers of jelly stacked on top of each other were delicious!

I usually go out to Ginza once a month, have dinner, and sometimes I buy takeout food from the department store basement to enjoy at home. One of my favorite things to do is to buy cakes from Ginza Wako Annex. I always go for the Fromage Cru, while my partner likes to try different ones. This time, he chose the pudding because of its interesting appearance. Every cake is delicious, so we work hard every day for moments like these!

Located near a Ginza intersection, there is a food section of a luxurious shop. Without knowing that the basement is a food section, I peeked from the outside and even checked out the first-floor sweets floor twice before deciding to buy a cake. After spending several weeks making my choice, I mistakenly chose the "Trois Fromages" cake for 4644 yen, thinking it was called "Trophwa." They put it in a luxurious paper bag (free of charge) and instructed me to thaw it in the refrigerator for about 3-4 hours before eating. I realized that I could also buy it online, feeling like I made a mistake, I took it home and kept it cool. I enjoyed it as a dessert for dinner over several occasions, and it turned out to be a "rich and smooth cheesecake" made with "cream cheese, mascarpone, and white blue cheese," baked smoothly at low temperature. The moist dough and the crispy texture of the streusel on top were just perfect. I had it at Ann Doo Trois.

Visited around 19:20 on Monday. This restaurant is selected as one of the top 5000 in the city. It was almost closing time, but decided to stop by. There were only about 3 groups of customers inside. The second floor is a tea salon where you can enjoy desserts and light meals. One satisfied group of customers was coming down from the second floor. Most cakes were sold out. I also checked out the chocolate corner. They all looked delicious, but the sizes were small and the prices were quite high, so I passed. After looking at reviews, I found that the pound cakes were also highly praised, so I took a look. I was interested in the fruit pound cake, so I chose that. When I placed my order, the staff member was busy with other tasks and didn't come to take my payment for a while. Another staff member noticed and kindly took over to assist me. The "Fruit Cake" cost 2,484 yen. It was packed with dried fruits! The cake was moist and had a deep flavor that intensified with each bite. I savored it slowly. It not only looked appealing but also came in a stylish box, making it a great gift option. Next time, I'll try ordering a different cake. Thank you for the meal.

I wanted to use the restroom and found this nearby store. The second floor was a cafe, so I went in. It had a quiet and elegant atmosphere with soft piano music playing. I ordered a pudding a la mode for ¥2,500 and an iced coffee for ¥1,300. It's been a while since I've had such an expensive dessert. The pudding a la mode was delicious and quite filling. With the iced coffee, it came to ¥3,700. The store is located right near Ginza Station. On the first floor, there were cakes and other items for takeout displayed. The store had a lot of seating. There were mostly women, but I also saw a few men dining alone. The main reason for my visit, the restroom, was very clean! The store is completely non-smoking.

I stopped by the Hikari Gourmet Salon and decided to take a look at the first floor as well. I sometimes buy baked goods as souvenirs for emergency evacuations, but I rarely see cakes because I can't eat them. I noticed some petit cakes and decided to buy one as a gift for my mother. She should definitely like it. When I gave it to my mother, she immediately started eating what seemed to be pistachio. She was very happy. I'm glad.

I purchased this cake for a birthday celebration. It was a delicious cheesecake with a rich and creamy texture. The citrus flavor added a refreshing touch. I prefer this type of cheesecake over others. The chocolate cake had a strong flavor but wasn't overwhelming, it was delicious. The pistachio shortcake was light and tasty. The lemon cake was refreshing and tasty. The nut cake was soft and had a nice texture.

By the way, the other day my husband brought back some cookies as a gift from a business dinner. There are too many cookies, so I haven't opened them yet. I think the person who chose these must have thought like me, playing it safe. I kind of feel a connection with them. Hehehe.

The taste is undeniably good. However, from the perspective of cost performance, the evaluation becomes a bit harsh. It is located in a prime location in Ginza, and the brand value is understandable, but personally, I wish the prices could be a bit lower.

This is a pound cake from Ginza Wako. I received it from a very nice person♡ Thank you so much♡ "Cake au Fruit" is a fruit cake made with 5 types of fruits, with large plums and semi-dried apricots as accents. It comes in a luxurious box that looks like it could contain a high-end watch, with a gold ribbon♡ The packaging is also very nice, as expected from Wako♡ When you open the box, the cake is wrapped in thick vacuum-sealed plastic. It is dense and heavy, and when you take it out, the honey-soaked large dried fruits shine like jewels♫ Not only the fruits on top, but when you cut into it, it's a pound cake filled with fruits♡ It has a hint of alcohol, is sweet and pairs well with coffee. The texture of the walnuts and the acidity of the dried fruits are good, and it's so delicious that you can't help but want another bite♡ It's dense, moist, rich in flavor, and the aroma of coffee relaxes your body and soothes your fatigue. It was a very delicious cake♡ I also want to give it as a gift to someone special next time. (^^)

It is located on the Ginza Gas Light Street, just outside Ginza Station B2. While looking at the showcase, I became fixated on the pudding. I wondered what the round thing on top was. I decided to purchase it out of curiosity. The pudding costs 594 yen (tax included). The round thing on top turned out to be whipped cream! The whipped cream was delicate and had a smooth texture. The pudding itself was smooth and rich. The caramel sauce on top added a slight bitterness, but when mixed with the creamy pudding and fluffy whipped cream, it was incredibly delicious. The container was made of glass, not plastic. It could be reused as a stylish container after eating. Thank you for the meal.

I happened to pass by Wako in Ginza and ended up buying a cake. All the cakes looked beautiful. I couldn't resist this cute pudding. I always want to eat cream puffs. This pudding, the round thing on top looks like an egg but it's actually whipped cream. It has a beautiful caramel sauce on top and it's not too sweet, very delicious. The cream puff has a firm choux pastry and traditional custard cream inside! So delicious... a comforting taste. Thank you for the meal.

In February 2023, I purchased cakes at the Ginza Wako cake and chocolate shop.
- "Usuyuki Tart" for 1,188 yen: A high-class strawberry tart with a perfect balance of sweet and sour strawberries, light tart crust, and whipped cream.
- "Chocola Classic" for 756 yen: A rich chocolate cake.
- "Mont Blanc" for 864 yen: A rich chestnut cream cake with large chestnuts inside.
The cakes at Wako are delicious. The café on the second floor is always full, making it hard to use, but it's worth it for takeout.

The iconic Ginza landmark, Wako Main Building, is home to Wako Annex where you can buy popular sweets, cakes, and chocolates from Wako. The 1st floor is a cake & chocolate shop, the 2nd floor is a tea salon, and the basement floor is a gourmet salon. Despite being a holiday, the tea salon was packed with 35 groups. Now, back to the main topic. They have freshly baked chocolate pies available for purchase only at the store front. However, they are limited in quantity and sell out quickly. They are baked at 12pm and 4pm, and a line forms outside the store before 4pm. The staff efficiently guides customers and takes down the numbers in line. At 4pm, they smoothly lead customers into the store. The long-awaited chocolate pie comes in an elegant packaging, making it a perfect gift. The pie crust is crispy and buttery, with a rich and sophisticated sweetness and bitterness of chocolate, complemented by the cherry's sweet and elegant acidity. It's a pie for adults!

I forgot to take a photo. I have visited this place several times before to buy freshly baked apple pie or souvenirs, and this time I visited to bring a gift to the shop. They were selling freshly baked chocolate pies twice a day, at lunchtime and in the evening, but I couldn't decide on the quantity because the number of people on the receiving end was unclear, so I gave up on buying them. Instead, I bought tea-flavored cookies baked at the atelier in Ginza, which come in two flavors: plain and chocolate. The size and quantity seemed just right. If I have the chance, I would like to try their cafe next time.

I was looking for Valentine's chocolates and decided to visit a cake shop that I had been curious about. I arrived just in time for the chocolate pie baking times (12:00 and 16:00) and decided to line up with my husband's request. After purchasing the cake, we lined up outside. There was only 15 minutes left until it was ready. We endured the cold weather and waited. When the time came, we were given a ticket and entered the shop in order. The chocolate pie (650 yen) was really delicious with a crispy crust. It had a good balance of chocolate and cherries, not too sweet. Surprisingly, I even finished one by myself.
