I went to see the musical "Eiga no Miyako" by the Musical Theatre Company. The cast was announced, and I was amazed to see that the main roles were double-cast with Taka Inoue and Ayaka Shimizu. I want to see both of them! So, I went to see the show on the final day, the 11th. I didn't realize that the Hagoromo Theatre was located in such a retro and cute building. First, I watched the matinee with Taka Inoue. The show started with incredibly fast and lengthy dialogues, set to a melody, making it even more complex. The built-up frustration exploded on stage! It was overwhelming. Both actors seemed nervous about the script on social media, and now I understand why. Taka Inoue's powerful, transparent, and unique voice drew me into his world. It was like being pulled into Taka's anime-like world, and it was over in a flash. Water was splashed, stuffed animals rolled into the audience – it truly felt like a stage performance (as Taka mentioned on social media later). It was so entertaining! Since I had time until the evening show, I wandered around Ginza. The weather was so gloomy. On my way back, I quickly had tea here. I had soft serve ice cream, and my companion had coffee (with chocolate). The soft serve ice cream was delicious with a mature taste, not too sweet, and the crunchy pearl croquant was amazing. The chocolate with amazake flavor was the best! Enjoying delicious soft serve ice cream while sitting down made me happy. Now, off to the evening show (not as a performer). It was Ayaka Shimizu's turn, whom I love. I first got to know Taka Inoue when he appeared in the song cycle musical with Ayaka Shimizu. It has been a long time since these two performed together, and I couldn't miss this double-cast opportunity. I watched Ayaka Shimizu's show from the front row. Once again, the show started with those long dialogues. This time, it looked completely different from Taka Inoue's world. It felt like peeking into Ayaka Shimizu's everyday life, a real and down-to-earth feeling (not that Ayaka Shimizu eats potato chips while lying down). If Taka Inoue's world is like an anime, Ayaka Shimizu's world is like a drama. The contrast between her soft voice and the pop world she creates adds to the excitement. There were other double-casted actors, and each had their own unique personality, making it seem like two different shows. It was my first time at the Musical Theatre Company in a while, and they really put on a great show. It was a fun day.
