Good evening. I am a beauty acupuncture therapist, Kozue. The other day, I visited La Splendeur, a cake shop near Kyugahara Station. I was excited to go there because all the cakes looked beautiful and delicious in the photos on Tabelog. In the showcase, there were whole cakes, about 10 different cakes, as well as baked goods and a variety of jams. This time, I bought the following cakes: Fromage Cru L'Amour - 561 yen Creme Caramel - 453 yen Fromage Cru L'Amour is a rare cheesecake made with natural cheese from Brittany, France. It is a dome-shaped cheesecake with whipped cream on top. The whipped cream has a sweet aroma that spreads in your mouth as soon as you taste it. The sweetness is just right, and the deliciousness of the whipped cream surprised me. The main rare cheesecake has a rich sweetness and acidity of the cheese. Inside the rare cheesecake, there is a jelly made of strawberries, wild strawberries, and red currants. The bright red color of the jelly stands out against the cream color of the cheesecake. The jelly is quite firm, with a refreshing acidity that balances well with the rich rare cheese. It was very delicious. Creme Caramel is a rich and smooth special custard pudding made with plenty of cream. There is whipped cream on top of the pudding. The cream is also very delicious. The custard pudding underneath is divided into two layers - the top layer is soft, and the bottom layer is a firm custard pudding. Underneath that, there is a layer of caramel sauce. The caramel sauce has a subtle bitterness and a fragrant aroma that complements the pudding well. The sweet aroma of vanilla beans is prominent, making it a very delicious custard pudding. This was my first visit, but these two cakes were very delicious, and I would like to try another cake next time. Thank you for the meal.

On this day, after having lunch at the Ebiya restaurant near Mount Ontake, we walked to Hisagahara next door and visited this shop to buy some sweets. I remembered that the cake I bought here last time was delicious, so this was my second visit. This shop specializes in take-out sweets and baked goods, with no drinks available for sale. The sweets like cakes and cookies are only sold at the storefront. I purchased a tiramisu and a cake called Chantilly Frais, which is like a shortcake. After taking them out, we returned to my girlfriend's place and enjoyed them with iced tea. I had the Chantilly Frais, which was not too sweet, with a smooth cream and lots of strawberries. It was definitely a high-quality sweet treat, although a bit on the pricey side at around 500-600 yen per item. Compared to another famous sweets shop nearby along the Kanpachi Avenue in Setagaya Ward, it felt a bit more expensive, and although it was undeniably delicious, it lacked a bit of punch. It may be a matter of personal preference. Also, the fact that they only accept cash and not credit cards is a limitation. I understand that the fees charged by credit card companies and payment processors can be significant, but I wish they could accommodate customers a bit more for convenience. Will I come back again? It might be a bit luxurious, but it could be a process of elimination in terms of choices.

A cake shop right by Kyu-ga-hara station. It was a weekday evening but there were only 2 groups inside the shop. It seemed popular as people were coming in right after others left. I tried the tiramisu with meringue on top, fluffy cream in the middle, and sponge at the bottom. The chestnut Mont Blanc had a cute round shape and was not too sweet, satisfyingly filling.

Revisited. A Western confectionery shop located right next to Ikegami Line Kyuhara Station. Takeout only. It's really right next to the train platform, but the entrance to the shop is a bit tucked away, so it's easy to miss. I stopped by to get dessert after having dinner in Ikegami. It was close to closing time, but there were several types of cakes in the showcase, which was a relief. I purchased the following items: Creme Caramel (486 yen) and Rich Cheese Souffle (561 yen). The Cheese Souffle is interesting because it's sprinkled with Parmesan cheese on top. I like the combination of the sweet taste of the souffle with the salty flavor of the Parmesan cheese, but I'm not a big fan of the crumbly texture of the souffle. It's a bit difficult to eat. As for the Creme Caramel, I didn't notice when looking at the showcase, but it's actually a two-layered dessert. The top part is a smooth and fragrant mousse-like layer, while the bottom part is a classic vanilla bean-flavored pudding. The mousse-like part acts as a sauce, enhancing the flavor of the classic pudding. I really like the taste of this pudding. Maybe adding some red fruits as decoration would make it even better... But I will definitely buy this pudding again. This shop is a rare find along the Ikegami Line with limited sweet shops, where you can buy delicious cakes.

I purchased a birthday cake for my friend. I forgot to take a picture, so I quoted from a review on Tabelog. The cake was a rich and creamy rare cheesecake (the old photo was 2,300 yen, but it is now 2,700 yen). I also bought a financiers for myself. It was moist, soft, and had a good aroma of almonds and honey. It was delicious. I will definitely buy it for myself next time. Thank you for the meal.

After eating curry nearby, I purchased some petit gateaux at a nearby patisserie. This time, I visited "La Splendeur" without much research, which turned out to be a mistake. Visiting around 2 p.m. may have been a factor, but the showcase was almost empty. I underestimated the popularity of this place along the Tokyu Tamagawa Line. (^_^;) However, I purchased three items from the limited selection, and to my surprise, they were all delicious. Later, I found out that the pastry chef is from Mikuni, which explains why I liked the flavors. I bought the following three items: - Harmony (583 yen) ★4.0 Inside the white chocolate mousse shell, there is a strawberry marmalade. After tasting the white chocolate, the strawberry flavor kicks in. Under the marmalade, there is pistachio cream adding a pistachio flavor. The base is a feuilletine mixed with praline. The delicate and crispy texture is delightful. The balance of each ingredient is good, and you can taste each one distinctly. The sweetness level was to my liking, and it was delicious. - Japanese Chestnut Mont Blanc (669 yen) ★4.0 Made with "Tsukuba" Japanese chestnuts from Kumamoto, this Mont Blanc has a chestnut paste with a rich chestnut flavor. The addition of chantilly cream enhances the chestnut flavor. The meringue base has vanilla, making the aftertaste more elegant compared to nut meringue. It was delicious. - Oublée Apricot (540 yen) ★3.9 A moist dacquoise sandwiched with praline and orange-flavored buttercream. The combination of orange flavor and praline sweetness is good, and the apricot and orange compote makes the aftertaste vibrant. All the petit gateaux were to my liking and delicious. I decided to go earlier next time and buy more. Thank you for the meal.

I came to buy a gift for someone who is retiring, but unfortunately it was scorching hot that day. I chose to buy some jam that they can easily carry around. I picked raspberry and a liquor-infused one (I think it was cognac). They were very happy with the gift. For myself, I was debating getting a rum cake but ended up getting a small chocolate cake instead. It was about 4x12x4 cm in size. It had a rich flavor, so I was satisfied with just a few pieces. I cut it into 5 pieces and saved the rest in the fridge, where it can last for a week. I want to try the rum cake next time!

When I was at my parents' house on November 13, I stopped by this shop after work at Kyūgasaki Station, but I ended up leaving without buying anything. This time, when I went back to my parents' house and had guests coming over, I thought about nearby cake shops, and this one came to mind. It's conveniently located just 30 seconds away from the Kyūgasaki Station platform, which is great. However, being on the first floor of what looks like an apartment building, it doesn't really look like a cake shop, haha. I visited around 4:30 pm, so I was worried there might not be many cakes left, but surprisingly there was a wide variety still available. I purchased the "Mont Blanc," "Yogurt Mousse," "Almondy," "Fromage Cru Le Gual," and "Praline Chocolat." I got the Almondy for myself and a little bit of Mont Blanc from my father. The "Almondy" is white chocolate mousse with strawberry jelly and pistachio cream, and being a fan of white chocolate and pistachios, I immediately decided on this one from the display case, haha. The milky taste of white chocolate, the nuttiness of pistachios, and the acidity of strawberries made for a delightful combination. It was a flavor that made me want to come back for more. The "Mont Blanc" has meringue topped with Mont Blanc cream. My father said, "The meringue is too sweet," so I thought, "I love sweet things, so I'm all for it!" but indeed, it was too sweet. However, the Mont Blanc cream was less sweet, allowing you to enjoy the taste of chestnuts themselves, with a slightly grainy texture. I don't have many opportunities to eat Mont Blanc, but is this how it usually is...? Personally, I prefer a smoother texture. When we visited, there were two groups of customers ahead of us, and as we were leaving, three groups were waiting in line. Perhaps due to its proximity to the station and the good ratings on Tabelog, it seems to be a popular shop without a doubt. The other cakes also looked delicious, so I would like to visit again when I go back to my parents' house next time. 😊🍰

~ Mont Blanc Journey (Part 26) ~ An elegant patisserie located near Ikegami Line Kyūgasaki Station. When it comes to upscale residential areas in Ōta Ward, Tama and Yamate are well-known, but Kyūgasaki is not far behind. This shop is a representative of the area. In the showcase at the back, there is a lineup of Japanese chestnut Mont Blanc (594 yen). It seems to be a recommended cake for autumn, and expectations are high. The Mont Blanc has a base of meringue with a cream made of fresh cream and Japanese chestnut. The sweetness and liquor flavor are subtle, allowing the vanilla scent of the meringue to enhance the presence of the chestnut. It truly tastes like chestnut! It was a delicious Mont Blanc. The rest are for the family. The Harmony (583 yen) has strawberry marmalade and bavarois cream inside white chocolate mousse. The Calm (540 yen) has lychee mousse with mango chocolate cream and jasmine tea jelly. Both the taste and appearance are beautifully executed (although I only took one bite). High-level, sophisticated cakes. The only drawback is the access, but it is worth visiting this place as a destination. Highly recommended.

First visit. A Western confectionery shop located just a few seconds' walk from Kyuhara Station on the Ikegami Line. The location of the shop is really right next to the station, but the exterior of the shop blends in with the first floor of the apartment building as if using camouflage, making it hardly noticeable. I probably would have passed by if I hadn't been paying attention. The size of the shop is standard for a local Western confectionery shop. There are various types of cakes, baked goods, pound cakes, etc., but not too many of each type. However, there were several visually appealing cakes in the showcase. Mandarin (583 yen): Mandarin mousse, cheese mousse, mandarin jelly. The composition itself is relatively simple, but the mousse has a very smooth texture and the mandarin flavor is prominent, making it very easy to understand and delicious. The addition of orange peel to the mandarin jelly part adds a bitter accent, which is good. Cocoa pudding (486 yen): A pudding made with 70% cocoa chocolate. I expected a strong chocolate aroma, but it wasn't that strong. However, the balance of texture and flavor between the chocolate crumble on top, what seems like unsweetened whipped cream, and the sweet chocolate pudding (or rather chocolate mousse) at the bottom is well done, making it delicious. Both cakes I purchased, despite their gorgeous appearance, have a taste that is quite conventional. However, the fact remains that they are delicious. If you're looking for surprises in cakes, you might find it lacking, but it's important to have cakes that are easy to understand and delicious for everyday use. Wouldn't it be nice to have a shop where everyone can enjoy delicious cakes consistently? Especially since the Ikegami Line lacks good sweets, a shop that makes delicious cakes is a valuable find. With good access, I'll definitely stop by again after eating at a certain tonkatsu restaurant.

Mysterious Station Near Series 2, A station with a simple structure, convenient location, and early opening hours, even in the hot summer, is probably the strongest in Tokyo. Although it was temporarily closed when revisited, the store still offers around 20 types of sweets. A small cake shop right by Kyu-Gahara Station. When I visited, they didn't have the usual shortcakes or chocolate cakes, but instead had a variety of unique cakes that piqued my curiosity. I can't remember the names, but I enjoyed a pistachio cake with strawberry sauce and an apricot cake. The Mont Blanc with Japanese chestnuts also had meringue at the bottom, giving it a new texture. I will definitely try a different cake next time I'm in the area.

The shop is located in Kyuhara, and it has a top-class rating (3.65 points as of February 24, 2021). The chef of this shop, Chef Fujikawa, trained under Chef Tahei Oikawa (currently at "An Puchi Pack") at Daikanyama's "Pierre d'Or" and Chef Norihiko Terai (currently at "Eagle Douce") at "Hotel de Mikuni". After taking over as the pastry chef at Mikuni from Chef Terai, he opened this shop in 2006. On this day, I visited the shop for the first time after taking my children to a nearby park. My wife requested chocolate-based desserts, so I bought the Praline Chocolat and the Harmony, which intrigued me with its various components like white chocolate. I also gave in to my children's demands and bought the Creme Caramel. The Harmony (520 yen, excluding tax) was delicious with a good balance of white chocolate, pistachio, and strawberry, along with crunchy feuillantine. The Praline Chocolat (520 yen, excluding tax) had a rich cocoa mousse with praline cream and feuillantine, but it was quite intense, so sharing it was just right. The Creme Caramel (420 yen, excluding tax) was a rich and smooth custard pudding made with plenty of fresh cream, but I couldn't taste it as my children ate it. Overall, the desserts were quite tasty, living up to their top-class reputation along the train line.

A cake shop that is always busy with customers coming in from noon. I bought a cake with buttercream, vanilla cookies, and financiers. I liked the cake with a strong apricot flavor. The buttercream was firm but not too heavy, giving a nostalgic feel. The vanilla cookies had a strong buttery taste. The financiers were moist with a hint of honey.

At the end of my date with A-chan, we went to a soba restaurant and then to a wine shop to browse. They were famous for their green harmony and the Shibusuto Framboise. The pastries tasted faithful to French patisserie, beautifully presented, and very sweet. Even though I'm not a fan of sweet treats, I was drawn to the beautiful desserts. The sweetness of white chocolate, combined with the sweetness of the Framboise and the base dough, exceeded my sweetness limit. The Shibusuto was also very sweet. If you have a sweet tooth, I think it would be perfect for you. Finding the balance between beauty and sweetness is difficult.

Today I visited Rassrandour. I actually came to this station to eat tonkatsu, but when I got off the station, there was a long line. I didn't have an umbrella with me, but luckily it was just a light rain, so I decided to wait in line. After waiting for 20 minutes, I entered the restaurant at 12 o'clock and found out that many items were already sold out. The recommended item was Mont Blanc, so I bought Mont Blanc. When I got home, the flavor of Mont Blanc spread out beautifully. For more detailed reviews, search for "eatery japan".

In the middle of Golden Week! I went for a run around the Tama River and stumbled upon a cake shop that looked really delicious. I bought four cakes that caught my eye, including Mont Blanc and Custard Brulee. Each cake had four different flavors depending on where you took a bite. They were all delicious. I'll keep exploring and finding delicious food while staying active!

Splendor❤️ First time at Kugahara Station, very convenient for transportation. Despite being right by the station, it has a quiet atmosphere. The chef currently at Ampuchi Paké has worked at the predecessor of this shop and also gained experience as a chef at Hotel Mikuni before opening this place. It's exciting to find a delicious restaurant in a small station. By the way, "splendor" means "radiance, magnificence, and grandeur." It's a wonderful word. This is a takeout-only shop. [Takeout] - Financier Miel - Cake Fruity - Cake Chocolat Fruity [Impressions] The financier has a strong buttery aroma and is quite juicy. It has a slightly chewy texture rather than a fluffy one, which was a bit disappointing. The taste is in the right direction but I wished it had a softer texture... On the other hand, the cake was very high-quality in terms of both texture and taste. Both versions had a generous amount of favorite fruits like figs and oranges, with a rich aroma of liquor. The chocolate one also had a moist texture, with no dryness, and the cocoa flavor tied everything together beautifully. I couldn't take home any fresh cakes due to walking time constraints, but I would like to try again.
