Recently, a horse meat specialty store opened in Gakugei University. The main store in Shinagawa opened on December 27, 2020, and the Gakugei University store opened on July 15, 2021. I happened to be lured in when passing by the store. On August 29, it was Horse Meat Day, and certain products were discounted by 29%. I decided to take a look. There are many horse meat-producing regions such as Kumamoto, Inner Mongolia, Aomori, Kanagawa, and Aizu. I only knew about Kumamoto and Aizu, but there are various regions. In the end, I bought Kumamoto-produced Fujibame sashimi with marbled meat. It cost 2,464 yen for 119g, which is quite expensive. Before the discount, it was 2,700 yen for 100g. Honestly, I had thought I wouldn't be able to eat horse meat anywhere else since trying roast horse meat. But this sashimi was delicious! It was worth the price. I thought I would like to eat it again, but considering the price, it might be an occasional treat.
