When I was struggling to decide where to buy this year's Christmas cake, I suddenly came across this Christmas cake. The beauty of it made me pre-order it online right away! Strawberry and Pistachio Mille-feuille for 7,560 yen. I picked it up around 1:00 PM on December 25th. There were 2-3 staff members for pick-up. I gave my name and they quickly prepared it for me to pick up. Tasting it, the pastry was delicate and crispy. The pastry had 3 layers, with 2 layers of pistachio cream and a thick layer on top, which had a great texture! The pastry had a strong buttery aroma, was very elegant, slightly bitter, and delicious! The pistachio cream had a strong pistachio flavor, not too sweet, and paired perfectly with the strawberries. The inside pastry was not as crispy as the surface, allowing the cream and strawberries to stand out more. The pistachio dragée had a strong pistachio flavor. The pastry was just so delicious! Elegant, not too sweet, and a wonderful cake overall. Thank you for the meal!

The prices are on the higher side, as expected in Ebisu, around 1000 yen each. The texture of the tart surrounding the chestnut tart is very good. It has a natural chestnut flavor without being too Mont Blanc-like. The cheesecake is a mix between rare and baked, with a cream that pairs well with the orange flavor. Eating it with the orange cream elevates the experience. The Earl Grey shortcake is not your typical strawberry shortcake, with a slight chocolatey taste and a nice Earl Grey flavor. Among the three, I recommend the cheesecake the most. It would be even better with a bit more orange peel. Taking into account the price, taste, impact, uniqueness, I rated it 3.4.

I haven't been able to visit the popular LESS recently, but I had some free time on a Tuesday when RIVA, which has started branch operations, was the only one open. I dropped by around 3:30 PM on a weekday. The food was delicious, but the prices seemed a bit high. They must be using good quality ingredients, but the price for this portion size may be due to the location and branding focus. Sometimes, higher prices make the food taste better, and it can come off as pretentious for gift-giving. It's better if it's not too crowded for those who don't mind the higher prices. If it sells well, then that's the right thing to do. The concept is similar to Libertà in Akasaka. I felt something like that. I felt like having wine between the meal and dessert. For dessert, the Gorgonzola cheese with seasonal fruit (fig) for 910 yen was good. The cheese was delicious, and it made me want wine. Today's best was this one. The thin slices on top looked like flowers, but they were actually thin slices of cheese for decoration. The Lime Sibust Tart with Lime Ganache and Cocoa Crunch for 910 yen was too sour! All I could think was that the lime was too acidic. It's a dish for those who like sour flavors. The Madagascar Organic Vanilla Chocolate Macaron for 700 yen had a strong chocolate flavor, and I couldn't really taste the organic vanilla. It comes in a stylish individual packaging, and I would happily eat it if given as a gift, but I probably wouldn't buy it for myself again. The content is similar to a terrine, but I could feel a slight difference. The Chocolate Terrine (sliced) for 620 yen was delicious, but it didn't surpass a similar one I had recently tried somewhere else. It's rich, which is good, but a bit heavy. The best one was at Gentile (Italian) in Higashi-Shirakawa. There may be a handicap between takeaway items and desserts eaten on the spot. The Chestnut Cake for 500 yen was small, but worth a try. Regular baked goods are ridiculously expensive, so I hesitated before eating it later. I'll update if I remember. I might want to reorder the cheesecake, but it was sold out on that day. I tried the Organic Vanilla and Strawberry Shortcake, and I think I'm good with that. There's Lezanefor nearby with normal prices and tastier (my preference). It shouldn't be an issue with the venue fee.

After exercising, I really wanted to eat cake so I went to this place. I think it's been almost a year since I last came here. All the cakes looked delicious, and I chose the fig cake and cheesecake. Both were amazing. They use high-quality ingredients, so the prices are a bit higher than regular cakes, but I believe they deliver flavors that meet expectations.

This is a shop called "Chocolat" and "Petit Gateau" in Ebisu, the second branch of "LESS" run by Mr. Sakakura and Mr. Riva. They sell glamorous "Petit Gateau" and "Chocolat". The store opened in July 2022. With the opening of this store, "LESS" has shifted its focus to "baked sweets" and "panettone". The location is about a 7-minute walk from Ebisu Station. From the Ebisu Minami intersection, head towards Meguro, pass the Ebisu Minami Ikouenmae intersection, continue on the Meguro-Mita Street for 2 blocks, and you will see a glass building on your left on the first floor (LESS is at the back of the road on the left). I visited in the afternoon. The interior of the store is clean and neat. There is a showcase of "Petit Gateau" and "fresh Chocolat" in front, and "Chocolat" that lasts longer on the left. The "Petit Gateau" at LESS, which has been well received, has a charming and attractive lineup. The "fresh Chocolat" is only displayed with price tags, and they will bring it out when you order. You cannot eat in the store, but you can bring the boxed "Petit Gateau" to LESS right behind (with a drink order). The service is friendly and polite, and the staff are very pleasant. I informed the staff that I wanted to eat in, took the boxed "Petit Gateau", and moved to LESS. I visited the store directly assuming that there would be seats available at LESS on that day, but the number of seats for eating in is limited, so it may be full. It is recommended to secure a seat at LESS before visiting. The items I purchased are as follows (prices include tax). ● Organic Vanilla Peach Shortcake (975 yen) A shortcake topped with peaches, with custard cream in the center, layered with thin sponge cake and Chantilly cream. The yellow and white dense cross-section is adorned with pink peaches, very beautiful. Let's dig in! The sponge cake has a dense and elastic texture (similar to a Swiss roll), supporting the custard cream full of vanilla beans and the light texture of Chantilly cream. The fruity peach is an accent. It was a shortcake with a satisfying texture different from sponge cake shortcake. ● ALMOND DRAGEE (90g, 1,800 yen) Almond chocolate. Dark chocolate is rich and has a good melt-in-your-mouth texture, with a lingering cocoa aftertaste. The price is on the higher side, but the satisfaction of each piece is also high. It can last for about 2 months. <Ingredients> Dark chocolate, almonds, sugar, glucose syrup, cocoa butter (contains soybeans and milk components) The price was high, but the satisfaction was also high. I would like to create an opportunity to revisit and try the "Petit Gateau" with the changing seasons, and I am also interested in the "Chocolat". Next time, I would like to revisit for the "Chocolat".

I was planning to buy pistachio cookies at LESS, but it seems that the eat-in option has resumed, so I ended up buying a pistachio Paris-Brest at RIVA and enjoyed it at LESS. The cake was a pistachio lover's dream, from top to bottom. It was a large size, and the pistachio cream inside had a strong pistachio flavor with a firm texture, but it wasn't heavy, so I was able to finish it. There were a few other cakes that caught my eye, so I would like to go back again.

I visited "RIVA chocolatier" located in Ebisu, which is ranked as a desirable neighborhood to live in. The shop opened in July 2022 and is a 7-minute walk from Ebisu Station East Exit, which is served by Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line, JR Yamanote Line, and Saikyo Line. It is located on the first floor of the stylish glass building "MT3 Building" facing Meguro-Mita Street. The interior of the shop is a simple and stylish space with a unified calm color scheme. It is a shop opened by Italian chef Gabriele Riva and Kanako Sakakura. Here are the menu items I tried today: - Earl Grey Shortcake: The aroma of Earl Grey is delightful, and the cake has an elegant sweetness. - Pistachio Paris-Brest: The flavor of pistachio is prominent in this dessert. - Blueberry and Red Shiso Jelly Tart: A tart topped with plenty of blueberries. - Cheesecake and Seasonal Tart: A rich and smooth cheesecake. - Caramel Ganache Tart: I purchased this signature item. It contains a chocolate cream made with Domori's Venezuelan chocolate and caramel inside the tart crust, topped with curled chocolate. I would definitely like to visit again. Thank you for the meal.

I visited "RIVA chocolatier," a specialty chocolate shop that seems to be one of the top 100 sweets shops, located a 7-minute walk from Ebisu Station. This shop is the second brand of the top 100 sweets shop "LESS" and opened in July last year. The ratings have been rapidly increasing, so I decided to visit. I arrived 15 minutes before opening on a weekday and there was no wait. If you want to eat in, you can order a drink at the nearby "LESS" to secure a seat before purchasing sweets at "RIVA chocolatier." I ordered the Organic Vanilla Peach Shortcake for 975 yen. They packed it in a box for me, and I went back to "LESS." They served it on a plate for me at "LESS" along with the iced coffee I had already ordered. The cake came with a complimentary chocolate truffle as part of the eat-in service! The shortcake had a rich organic vanilla cream, incredibly moist sponge cake, and juicy, sweet peaches that were perfect in terms of aroma, texture, and flavor. It was a harmonious blend of flavors and very delicious. I enjoyed it until the last bite. Just for your information, "LESS" serves baked goods and has an eat-in area, while "RIVA chocolatier" focuses on fresh cakes for the time being.

I visited around 6 pm on Saturday and Sunday and was able to purchase smoothly. I bought Gorgonzola cheese cake with seasonal fruits for 910 yen. It has a rich taste of blue cheese, with a unique flavor that feels like eating blue cheese, honey, and milk together. I also bought vanilla flan for 750 yen. It has a concentrated taste of vanilla and custard cream, making it a bit on the sweeter side. I enjoyed the chocolate tart I bought before, so I would like to visit again. Thank you for the meal.

Ebisu Cake. Visited on a weekday afternoon at an early hour, and there was a wide variety of cakes available. All of them looked beautiful and it was hard to choose. The peach shortcake was almost 1,000 yen for one piece, but the layers of custard and sponge were beautifully made and delicious. The chocolate terrine was not too rich or too sweet, with a wonderful balance of flavors. Truly exceptional taste.

Opened last year as a chocolatier at the top 100 store LESS. RIVA offers cakes, while LESS offers baked goods. Interestingly, cheesecake and chocolate cheesecake are available at LESS. Peach shortcake for 975 yen and vanilla flan for 750 yen. The balance of the elegant sweetness of the peach, cream, and moist sponge is exquisite. I gave up on the caramel ganache tart this time, but I will try it next time. This is one of my top 3 favorite sweets shops in Ebisu.

This is said to be a sister store of LESS, but they have quite a few fresh fruit-based desserts that are not available at LESS. The Pistachio and Cherry Suriye, priced at 1080 yen, was today's highlight. The top cherry had a crisp bite and a rich, ripe flavor. Next, the pistachio cream was rich and smooth, with a strong nutty flavor. Overall, it's not just about richness or high-quality ingredients, but also about the perfect combination of ingredients, composition, and high pastry-making skills that make this delicious dessert possible.

It was surprising to see such large cakes at this kind of shop. The price was quite high as well, over 1000 yen, which is not common. The cake was delicious, but it didn't quite live up to the high price, so I don't feel compelled to go back again.

"Organic vanilla and strawberry shortcake" features a rich custard with a strong vanilla aroma and a balanced sweetness. "Lemon tart" offers a tart flavor with a perfect balance of meringue. "Cheesecake with seasonal fruits" has a rich cheese flavor that is not overwhelming. The ability to combine each strong flavor into one cohesive dish is truly impressive.

On Mother's Day, my husband decided to buy a cake for me. When asked which cake shop I prefer, I always request RIVA. Is Earl Grey shortcake a regular item now? It has been appearing in the showcase every time, and I end up buying it each time. The latest one I bought was a lemon tart. I like it because it has a strong acidity. It goes well with the meringue which is on the heavier side. I remember how delicious the glass desserts I had last year were, and I always look for them, but I haven't come across any since RIVA took over.

Less has spun off its chocolate and confectionery department into Riva. This time, I ordered chocolate tart, cheesecake, eclair, and chocolate cookies, among other baked goods, but the staff seemed to have misheard my order, as I received different items. When I called to inquire, they promptly processed a refund, resolving the issue smoothly. As for the taste, surprisingly, the chocolate tart lacked the smoothness expected of a cake, but the other cakes were delicious with just the right amount of sweetness. They had a relatively rich flavor, and the cream was perfectly balanced. The chocolate baked goods would make great gifts. I will definitely be a repeat customer. Please note that there is no eat-in space available.

Opened on July 23, 2022, this popular chocolate and wagashi specialty shop in Ebisu is a branch of the well-known pastry shop LESS. The shop specializes in chocolates and wagashi, and is owned by chefs Gabriele Riva and Kanako Itakura, just like LESS. Gabriele started his training at his family's patisserie at the age of 12, and at just 22, he was invited to work as a pastry chef in London. He later served as the USA Cacao Barry Ambassador in New York for 7 years. Kanako learned the basics of confectionery in Japan and furthered her training as a pastry chef in Paris, France. She then worked as a pastry chef in a restaurant in Norway before returning to Japan to work at establishments like the Hilton Tokyo and Restaurant NARISAWA. LESS specializes in baked goods, while RIVA focuses on wagashi, chocolates, and pastries. The shop is located about 90 meters south of Ebisu Minami Park, a 7-minute walk from Ebisu Station. Operating hours are from Thursday to Tuesday, 11:00 am to 7:00 pm, closed on Wednesdays. The shop is takeout only, but if there is space available, you can use the seating area at the affiliated LESS shop. Reservations can be made by phone. Popular items include the Pure Chocolate Cake and the DOMORI CHOCOLATE TALT (Caramel Ganache Tart). The reviewer ordered the VANNILLA STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE and the popular DOMORI CHOCOLATE TALT. The DOMORI CHOCOLATE TALT features a tart filled with a ganache made from Domori chocolate from Venezuela and caramel, topped with a thin layer of gianduja. The crust is crispy, the ganache has a balanced acidity and bitterness, and the gianduja ties everything together. The shortcake has a smooth cream and perfect sweetness. The chocolate tart was also delicious, with the reviewer preferring it over products from LESS.

Visited this branch for the first time. Unfortunately, they were out of LESS's fruit tart that I was looking forward to. Ended up buying the shortcake instead. The cake had a dense and rich texture with custard, lacking the typical shortcake feel, but it was still delicious. I went in the morning to reserve one, and when I came back in the afternoon, they had more cakes available. Perhaps there is a "once in a lifetime" experience even based on the time of day.

This is a new branch of "LESS" located on Meguro-Mita Street near Ebisu Garden Place. The interior of the shop is compact, with a showcase at the entrance and shelves on the left selling jams, cookies, and more. I purchased the Caramel Ganache Tart for 975 yen. The tart was thin and crispy, filled with Venezuelan chocolate and caramel ganache, topped with shaved chocolate that was soft and fluffy. The ganache had a well-balanced mix of acidity, bitterness, and sweetness, creating a deep and rich flavor. I also tried the Chocolate Hazelnut Praline for 800 yen, which had chocolate cream inside a cocoa pastry eclair, topped with whipped cream and chocolate crumble. The rich chocolate cream was complemented by the lightness of the whipped cream, with the hazelnut praline adding a crunchy texture and a touch of saltiness. Both cakes were excellent and delicious. I look forward to trying cakes other than chocolate next time.

I visited RIVA chocolatier in Ebisu. It is the new location for LESS, where you can purchase all their confections. I tried the Venezuelan chocolate tart on this day. I went to a shop with a gift and it looked so delicious that I ended up buying two types of shortcakes for myself to take home. It was a sister store of the famous shop LESS, which I had been wanting to try. I forgot the names of the cakes, but they were probably something like the following: Strawberry shortcake and Kinkan (kumquat) rare cheesecake, each priced at 975 yen. These cakes rank high among all the cakes I have ever eaten. They were that delicious! The price is reasonable, considering the exceptional taste. Thank you for the feast!
