I did a bit of work in the valley and then headed to the store. It's nice that you can buy without waiting in line, unlike popular stores. And guess what, the butter dorayaki that was limited to the station is now available at the store. This is great news! I bought butter dorayaki, regular dorayaki, mitarashi manju, and kinako mochi. The next day, I tried them. My son had the mitarashi manju and said it was delicious. It must be a taste that kids like. The kinako mochi wasn't too sweet and had a nice flavor of kinako. And the butter dorayaki. I tried it after breakfast. The harmony of buttery saltiness and Tokachi red bean paste was exquisite. The skin was delicious too, and I think it's just as good as a specialty store. It's amazing that you can eat this for around 100 yen. I'll definitely buy it again if I'm nearby.

I am looking for gourmet takeout options to boost my motivation for walking. Walking distance to the destination: 5.6km Visit time: 13:00 Number of people in line: 3 Waiting time: less than 10 minutes While strolling through Yanaka Ginza on a walk, I noticed many people. It seems that tourism has increased as the COVID-19 situation has calmed down. Today, I decided to buy something sweet, so I came here. There is a small bag with affordable prices, mainly featuring Japanese sweets. I bought a bite-sized daifuku for 110 yen, a sweet potato daifuku for 100 yen, and a dorayaki for 110 yen. I immediately tried the dorayaki. The dough is fluffy and moist in between. The sweetness is moderate. The red bean paste is in the center and has just the right amount of sweetness. It's simply delicious. I look forward to enjoying the other two at home. Thank you for the meal!

I visited "Yanaka Fukumaru Manju" located in Yanaka, known for its old town atmosphere. This traditional Japanese confectionery shop was established in June 1955. It is easily accessible, just a 3-minute walk from Sendagi Station on the Tokyo Metro Chiyoda Line. It is also within walking distance from Nippori Station, which is served by the JR Yamanote Line and Keihin-Tohoku Line. The shop is tucked away in a narrow alley off the street from Sendagi Station. Upon entering the shop through a short white curtain, you will find various types of manju displayed in wooden boxes on the counter. Here are the items I tried today:
- Black Sugar Manju: A signature product of Fukumaru, this manju is filled with sweet red bean paste and wrapped in a thin black sugar skin. It has a subtly sweet and elegant taste.
- Bite-sized Daifuku: A popular mini-sized daifuku with a moist and smooth red bean paste filling.
- Yomogi Manju: A flavorful manju with generous amounts of yomogi (Japanese mugwort) kneaded into the dough. It is filled with red bean paste and has a delightful aroma of yomogi.
Overall, it was a delicious experience.

The store opens at 11 am, and there were 5 customers waiting in line. Everyone quickly placed their takeout orders without hesitation and got their turn in 5 minutes. They ordered chestnut and red bean paste buns, with two types available for 80 yen each. The size of the buns corresponds to the price, but you can get two for a reasonable size. A colleague ordered small buns with sweet potato and sweetened soybean paste for 100 yen, with 4 small buns in the set. They are perfect for a girls' gathering, even if you don't eat them all at once! Currently, each type of red bean paste is individually wrapped, but we hope for the introduction of buns with two types of red bean paste. We are willing to pay a little extra for the convenience. Please note that the chestnut buns are best consumed the next day, while the small buns can be enjoyed the day after.

When entering the ticket gate at Minami Center Station, I noticed a rare manju and bought a custard manju. The size of one piece was as small as a quail egg. The mochi was very soft and the custard cream was refreshing and delicious. It seems that many ticket gates in the Tokyo metropolitan area sell them, so I would like to buy them again.

These are cheap and delicious manju (steamed buns). I bought sweet potato, sweet bean paste, chocolate, and custard flavors. I didn't buy them at this store, but at a stall at the station. The person in front of me said, "I bought them before at another station and they were delicious, so I came back to buy more!" They are small in size, so you can enjoy them without feeling guilty about the calories.

Today I went for a stroll in Sendagi and stumbled upon Fukumaru Manju. Inside the shop, they were selling dorayaki for 110 yen each and a pack of 9 black sugar manju for 110 yen. The prices were really cheap! I bought both and tried them on the spot. The dorayaki was soft, chewy, and moist with a perfect level of sweetness from the red bean paste. It was a bit small but perfect for everyday snacking. Next, I tried the black sugar manju. It came in a pack of 9 bite-sized pieces, which is convenient for a quick snack. The manju had a nice black sugar flavor with smooth red bean paste inside. Both the dorayaki and black sugar manju were delicious with a good balance of flavors. Affordable and tasty, no wonder this place is popular. I recommend checking it out!

Each individual manju is small and can be purchased individually, making it a perfect souvenir or snack. I love karinto manju! It costs 80 yen each, and they come in a plastic case which is convenient. A pack of 10 small manju costs 110 yen, which is a great deal! I learned that you need 11 pieces to make a pyramid shape for a moon-viewing party. I want to buy more next time and make a pyramid. Kids love them, and they disappeared quickly. The small manju were not exceptional in taste, but the dorayaki was delicious! It costs 140 yen with butter, or 110 yen without. The portion size is just right for me.谷中 is amazing.

A traditional Japanese confectionery shop in the valley. They offer small-sized Japanese sweets at very reasonable prices. I purchased a dorayaki on this day. It cost only 110 yen for one piece, which is very cheap. I enjoyed it at home. The dorayaki was small but had a generous amount of sweet red bean paste inside. The red bean paste had a slightly chunky texture with a hint of skin, which provided a fun popping sensation sometimes. The pancake part was soft and had a good balance. It's really nice to be able to enjoy this quality at such a low price.

◻︎ Visit time: Around 3:45 PM on a holiday

◻︎ Reservation: No reservation made in advance
◻︎ Number of people: 3
◻︎ Tabelog rating: 3.58 (May 2023)
◻︎ Genre: Japanese sweets
◻︎ Remarks: It's not incredibly delicious, but it's quite tasty. Warabi mochi could be a bit less sweet. Personally, I like the Yomogi manju the best. The skin is chewy and the scent of yomogi is very nice.

I went to Yuuyake Dandan in a long time on a holiday around 4 pm. It's about a 5-minute walk from JR Nippori Station. The sunset view from the stairs was quite beautiful even though I arrived a bit early that day. The Yanaka Ginza street below the stairs was bustling with people. It seems like we are slowly returning to pre-COVID times. There were white cat sculptures placed on top of some shops. I walked a bit down "Yomise Street" after turning left at the Yanaka Ginza shopping street, and I came across a lovely shop called Fukumaru Manju. It's located about a 3-minute walk from Chiyodaki Station on the Tokyo Metro Chiyoda Line. I bought a dorayaki for 110 yen and enjoyed it on a bench outside the shop. The dorayaki was unexpectedly soft, fluffy, and delicious, and the fact that it was only 110 yen including tax was great. It helped me relax after a long walk. Fukumaru Manju in Yanaka's Yomise Street offers high-quality dorayaki at a reasonable price and is highly recommended! I'm not a big fan of Japanese sweets, but you can't go wrong with the combination of red bean paste and butter! I like when karinto manju has a crispy outer layer. I don't like daifuku, but since they're bite-sized, I can eat them too. Sometimes, I enjoy Japanese sweets. Thank you for the meal.

■ I came across Fukumaru in Yanesen, near the central ticket gate of JR Oimori Station, so I immediately bought a pack of 4 yomogi daifuku for 100 yen to share with my friends for our cherry blossom viewing.■ The line at the cashier had 8 people, so I took a look around at other Japanese sweets for a while. They all looked delicious and were reasonably priced!■ We had a great time with my friends who love Japanese sweets as our cherry blossom viewing companions.■ Fukumaru's yomogi daifuku has a strong yomogi flavor in the mochi dough with a lightly sweetened smooth red bean paste filling.■ It was lucky to encounter Fukumaru's limited-time sale at JR Oimori Station☆☆☆

I walked from Konayuki to Sendagi and stopped by to have some Japanese sweets. They offer a variety of sweets such as manju and daifuku, including ones with custard cream that can be enjoyed by all ages. Although there are only 7-8 items displayed, it was hard to choose which one to get. I bought the popular karintou manju to eat on the go, and brought back daifuku to share with my family. The karintou manju was crispy from being freshly fried, with a rich flavor of brown sugar and a simple sweetness of the red bean paste inside. It was easy to eat in terms of both size and taste. The daifuku had a rustic sweetness of the red bean paste and a soft mochi texture. Although there were no extraordinary elements, it reminded me of the deliciousness of traditional Japanese sweets.

Enjoying pomegranate, Japanese chestnut, and grilled fish at Yanaka-Sen, next stop for Kawai. Purchased the "Karinto Manju (80 yen)" that Goro-san ate in the drama version of "The Lonely Gourmet". It's convenient that you can buy just one. Well, well, it's not too sweet. The skin, which apparently has black sugar kneaded into it, is thick and fried in oil, giving it a crispy texture like karinto. As for the filling, it's strained sweet bean paste. The moderate sweetness is just right since the skin is already sweet. Yes, it's delicious. It's definitely a karinto manju, no doubt about it. Gone in a flash. The service is impeccable, with a smile and polite response even to customers like Kawai who only spend 80 yen. Truly, thank you very much m(_ _)m After all, you can enjoy Yanaka-Sen for only 80 yen!! Well, it's small in size, but still, I think it's a reasonably priced attraction that you won't find easily. If you visit Yanaka-Sen, you should definitely buy it. To be continued.

When walking from Tanakan Ginza towards Dangozaka, you will come across "Fukumaru Manju," a famous shop known for its karinto manju. The price is surprising - in this day and age, one piece costs 80 yen. The dorayaki is priced at 110 yen. Despite that, they are delicious. That's why I end up buying some every time I pass by.

This is a shop located along the street heading towards Sendagi Station from Yanaka Ginza. Their black sugar manju comes in a pack of 9 for 110 yen (excluding tax). At just over 12 yen per piece, it's quite reasonable. The manju, about 3.5 cm wide, has a chewy texture and a rich sweetness from the black sugar. The seasonal Belgian chocolate manju, also in a pack of 9, is priced at 220 yen (excluding tax). While it's double the price, the chocolate aroma spreads gently in your mouth, making it a good deal.

I happened to visit JR Ichikawa Station and found a pop-up store inside selling various types of bite-sized daifuku and butter dorayaki. I decided to buy some as souvenirs because they were affordable. I purchased "Kusa Mochi", "Naruto Sweet Potato Daifuku", and "Matcha Daifuku", each containing 4 bite-sized pieces for only 100 yen each. I enjoyed them with my wife after dinner, and they were delicious Japanese sweets that were perfect for tea time.

Selling inside Matsudo Station. Fukumaru in Yanaka, choose between two options that will make your husband who loves dorayaki happy, even though they are small, they cost ¥110, which is amazing. Next to it, there are sweet potato karinto manju for ¥80, very cheap, and bite-sized daifuku with so many pieces for ¥110. Bought them as souvenirs for my husband who loves dorayaki and he enjoyed them with coffee. The bite-sized daifuku, which I want to eat with tea, struggled a bit. Hang in there, Japanese sweets!

Naruto sweet potato daifuku for ¥100, one-bite daifuku for ¥110, butter dorayaki for ¥140. The Naruto sweet potato daifuku is sweet and perfect for a sugar boost. The one-bite daifuku is easy to eat at this size. The butter dorayaki didn't have much butter flavor. The affordable price and easy-to-eat size are great. It could also make a good souvenir.

In the middle of Kinshicho Station, there was a chaotic conversation between the staff and a customer. The staff said, "We are operating in Tanimachi." The customer replied angrily, "I know that! I live in Koto Ward!" I wonder if I have a fever? I wasn't planning to buy from "Fukumaru Manju" at Kinshicho Station during the event, but when I saw the high ratings on Tabelog, I decided to buy. The prices are very cheap, but the taste is not bad, quite delicious actually. I wonder if they can continue at this price point in the long run. I think it's almost impossible, but I hope they do their best. Thank you for the meal.
