TOC Building, used as a showroom for wholesale and distribution businesses in Tokyo, was originally built on the site of the former Star Pharmaceuticals factory, founded by the father of science fiction writer Shinichi Hoshi. It was completed in 1970 as TOC Building. Due to its aging condition, it will be demolished in 2023 and is scheduled to be completed in 2027. This means saying goodbye to the dining area here for a while. There are several cafes in TOC Building, but on weekend mornings, the only one that is reliably open is Excelsior. I ordered the "Thick Toast Plate Morning" (489 yen) with a hot coffee. I paid with PayPay. Despite many tenants in the building being closed on weekends, there was a decent amount of customers. I enjoyed the slightly sweet buttered toast with a light coffee. As my appointment time approached, I returned the dishes to the return counter. Thank you for the meal.

Excelsoir on the 1st floor of Gotanda TOC is a casual spot where you can easily drop by while shopping. The atmosphere inside was crowded and seemed popular. I ordered the limited-time Lemon Squash, which was very refreshing with sweet lemon peel in it. I also enjoyed a delicious Panini, which they warmed up for me when I got it for takeout.

Visited for brunch on the weekend. Ate in. Ham and cheese hot sandwich for 204 yen. Royal milk tea for 458 yen. Set for 662 yen. The hot sandwich was freshly baked with gooey cheese inside! Delicious. The royal milk tea is always good.

I went to Gotanda TOC. I had some time, so I went into Excelsior Cafe. There were vinyl curtains at the counter, and signs were posted on the tables to avoid close contact. I enjoyed a coffee while reading the newspaper in the quiet cafe. It had been a while since I last read a newspaper in a cafe. Thank you for the meal. The receipt had a message saying "Nice to see you again!" which made me smile. Thank you for the meal.

After Monday lunch, I was in the mood for something icy. So, I stopped by "Excelsior Cafe Gotanda TOC Store." When I entered the store, there was a slight line. After a while, I finally placed my order. I was a bit indecisive, but this time I ordered an "Iced Latte." It cost 480 yen for a large size. After paying, I waited for my order and then it was ready! I quickly picked it up and inserted a straw for sipping. The taste was as good as always at Excelsior. Hopefully, next time I'll have the opportunity to insert it myself.

I stopped by after a flea market and found plenty of seats, free Wi-Fi, and power outlets. The lunch set with a choice of baguette sandwich, soup, salad, and drink for 1080 yen was reasonable. The baguette was a bit dry, but filling. It's nice that you can upgrade your drink size from M to L for an additional 50 yen.

Lunch time on the weekend, dining alone. The restaurant is located on the 1st floor near the entrance of Gotanda TOC. The entrance connects to both inside and outside of the TOC building. I was intrigued by the sign that read "Eat Fruit Tea" from the moment I saw it. I felt excited watching the staff carefully pour iced tea with fruit inside. It's a delightful item for the upcoming season. However, it's a bit expensive at 580 yen. I opted for the Chicken Caesar Salad Sandwich with a lemon flavor at 460 yen. It's a more affordable option than the drink, but together they make for a lunch over 1000 yen. A spot where you can easily stop by in between shopping trips.

I dropped by on a regular night. This shop is located on the first floor of the TOC Building. After eating soba at Yudetarou, I stopped by here. I looked at the menu and decided on an Iced Cafe Latte (430 yen). It started drizzling outside~♪ Before I knew it, my drink arrived. The Iced Cafe Latte has a nice balance of espresso and cold milk. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal. 2018.10.19 Food walking. 2665 reviews (Tokyo: 1090 reviews)

I had to kill time using the TOC cafe for two consecutive days. I couldn't find any other cafes where I could kill time. The coffee is priced at around 400 yen, which is relatively high. The amount is not large, but the taste is decent. The cafe opens early in the morning and has a good location. I was able to comfortably spend time with a book in hand without feeling rushed.

I used takeout on a weekend afternoon. I had the Fruit Rooibos Tea Orange & Passion Fruit for 520 yen. The fruit in the tea made it taste delicious! Perfect drink for the hot season.

On weekend mornings, I used the eat-in option and tried the fruit tea with sunquat and two types of grapefruit for 591 yen. The iced tea had frozen citrus fruits in it. I thought it would be even more delicious if there were a little more fruit in it.

It has become a recent tradition to go to a cafe after drinking parties. It's good for sobering up and it's nice to be able to wait or talk. Today, I didn't pay for it myself so I don't really know how much it costs, but it's definitely not more than 1000 yen. Even if you order a large size coffee, it should be fine. When I ordered a large size, it came in a paper case for takeout, not a mug. I was worried it wouldn't stay hot, but I let it cool down for a while before drinking it. It didn't taste sour like it would in a mug, maybe because the lid prevented oxidation. It was easy to drink with no strong taste. The biscuit was moist, sweet, and went well with the coffee. Overall, it was a good combination.

Tokyo Business Trip Coffee Edition① I was heading to a client meeting, but I arrived early. So, I decided to visit this coffee shop. I ordered an R Blend (380 yen) for myself and an R Iced (400 yen) for the executive, who kindly treated me. The coffee was good, but a bit expensive. I'm used to the 100 yen coffee from convenience stores, so this felt pricey. But since it was treated, it's all good! It's almost time for our appointment, so let's head out! Thank you for the treat!!
