I visited a Japanese restaurant system called "Kuroge Wagyu Koshi Tsuka," which has three different types of restaurants in Jiyugaoka, and I went to the butcher shop and bento store on the first floor of Hiro Street. After eating the famous corned beef bowl at the yakiniku restaurant on the second floor, I went to buy corned beef to make the dish at home. It was Christmas Eve, and I noticed meat pies displayed for the first time. I love meat pies, but it's hard to find a delicious one. However, I trusted this shop and bought one. I also bought the premium corned beef and went back home. For dinner that day, I first enjoyed the meat pie. When I cut it in half, I found a filling packed with beef. Just as I expected, the filling was delicious, and the pie crust was crispy. It was very satisfying. The meat pie from Yuhaimu with Kobe beef has too little filling, and the one from Froindlieb is tasty but small. Compared to those, I think this meat pie has a high level of satisfaction in terms of taste and quantity. The corned beef bowl I made later was also delicious. I melted the fat of the corned beef in the microwave and poured it over the rice in a bowl. I ate it with freshly grated wasabi, and it was delicious even without the egg yolk like in the restaurant. In fact, if you're craving a corned beef bowl, there's no need to go to a restaurant.

In Jiyugaoka, there is a butcher shop that also runs a sukiyaki restaurant and a hamburger shop near the station. In their deli, you can buy not only meat by itself, but also bento boxes with yakiniku and items like croquettes individually. Purchased items include: Menchi Katsu for 270 yen, Wagyu beef croquette for 200 yen, and Wagyu beef and lotus root sandwich for 300 yen. Review: - The best taste of beef was found in the Menchi Katsu, which was really juicy and conveyed the deliciousness of the beef. - The croquette was just okay, it tasted like a regular croquette with a hint of beef flavor, but if you have to choose, Menchi Katsu is definitely more delicious for just a few yen more. - I was looking forward to the lotus root sandwich the most, but unfortunately, the thick lotus root absorbed too much fat and ended up being dry and overly rich. Menchi Katsu is the recommended dish.

This is a butcher shop and deli specializing in meat located in front of Jiyugaoka Station on Hiro Street. It is operated in partnership with the Japanese restaurant systems such as Goemon, Hoshino Coffee, and Tenma, with the Koshizuka in Sendagi. I visited this shop while shopping at the surface store of Seijo Ishii on weekends. I bought the "Black Wagyu and Half-Cooked Seasoned Egg Menchi" here a while ago, but the new discovery on this day was the "Futo Maki" for 1065 yen (excluding tax). Every year, they release about three types of Ehomaki for Setsubun, but it was the first time I saw Futo Maki at a different time. I generally like Futo Maki, and I always buy the Ehomaki from Koshizuka every year, so I immediately bought one. I also bought the cut-off pieces of Black Wagyu roast beef for 1000 yen (excluding tax) on the way home. The Futo Maki I ate at home had a beautiful cross-section reminiscent of Kanda Shino Sushi. While the high-end Ehomaki has a chunk of roast beef in the center, this Futo Maki seems to use cut-off pieces. Other ingredients include beef simmered in soy sauce, rolled omelette, carrots, cucumbers, etc. The sushi rice is also delicious. It would be great if you could buy this year-round. The roast beef I bought was also decent. It was a good decision to visit. P.S. When I visited almost a month later, the Futo Maki was still on display, so it seems to have become a regular item.

This is a shop operated by Japan Restaurant System, which has a wide range of brands such as Spaghetti no Goroemon, Hoshino Coffee, and Curry no Tenma, specializing in meat, meat products, and deli items. The second floor is a yakiniku restaurant specializing in wagyu beef. The corned beef and berry ham are almost the same as those at Kosozuka in Sendagi, so it seems they have some kind of licensing agreement. On this day, I also visited the street-level store of Seijo Ishii located next door. I decided to stop by here to buy some deli items for dinner. I usually buy the signature corned beef and berry ham, but this time I first bought the "Wagyu and Half-cooked Flavored Egg Menchi" for 362 yen (excluding tax). It's a Scotch egg-style dish with wagyu beef menchi with a half-cooked egg inside, and it's limited to 30 pieces a day. As a Scotch egg lover, I've been curious about it for a while, and this was my first time actually buying it. I also got a set of corned beef, berry ham, and sausages for 900 yen. Since there's a risk of overcooking the egg if you heat up the menchi, I tried it as is. When I cut it in half with a knife, the egg was indeed half-cooked and gooey. The wagyu minced meat menchi was also quite good. For 362 yen, it seems like a better deal than the signature Scotch egg with hard-boiled egg for 350 yen at Kagurazaka Onoya Butcher Shop. I made sandwiches with the corned beef and berry ham using high-quality bread from an old-fashioned deli in Omori, and as always, the taste was reliable. I enjoyed it this time as well.

Due to the impact of the new coronavirus, takeout and delivery have increased significantly. Even though the state of emergency has been lifted, restaurants are not fully back to normal, and I still don't feel like dining out. So, it looks like I'll be continuing with my takeout lifestyle for a while. I remembered a place called "Koshizuka" that offers famous corned beef dishes for takeout, so I decided to go to Jiyugaoka and get some takeout. This time, I ordered sausage fry, soft-boiled egg menchi katsu, corned beef cream croquette, and meat tofu. The sausage fry was huge and delicious. The sausage itself was thick and big, and the portion was substantial. The soft-boiled egg menchi katsu was a perfect combination of menchi katsu and a whole soft-boiled egg inside. The harmony of flavors was exquisite. The corned beef cream croquette had a unique taste, not what you would expect from a typical cream croquette. It was flavorful, but with a heavier taste than expected. The meat tofu, the only Japanese dish I ordered, was simple and delicious. Despite being a meat-focused restaurant, the seasoning was perfect, giving it a high-quality taste. Overall, everything was delicious. Koshizuka is a restaurant that offers takeout regardless of the coronavirus situation, so I look forward to enjoying their food in the future.

Got off at Jiyugaoka Station. Passed through the ticket gate at the front entrance, turned left, walked past the level crossing, and continued walking towards the back to find a butcher shop. The first floor sells meat and side dishes, while the second floor is a restaurant specializing in yakiniku. When it first opened, their Scotch eggs (minced cutlet with egg inside) became a hot topic. Despite the weekday emergency declaration in April 2020, a family with errands in Jiyugaoka bought dinner dishes. The total price for one Cream Croquette with Corned Beef, two Menchi Katsu, and one Croquette was ¥1155. The Cream Croquette was a bit challenging to accept as I usually associate cream croquettes with crab cream, but it was deliciously sweet. The Menchi Katsu had chunks of beef and onions in it. The Croquette was not creamy and made with sweet potatoes, giving it a unique sweetness. It felt like they used high-quality ingredients. I usually expect croquettes to be savory, so I ended up putting a lot of sauce on it. This croquette might go well sandwiched in a bun. Yuzuka overturns my common sense with familiar food.

Lunch at the butcher shop... I had been wanting to try the lunch at Koshizuka for a while now. The place is known for its high-quality meat and delicious grilled meat, but I was also intrigued by their corned beef bowl. Unfortunately, I had plans to go to another restaurant for lunch, but I couldn't resist trying the limited quantity black wagyu beef with soft-boiled egg menchi that I had been eyeing for a while. I initially ordered two of them, but ended up also getting a rare mushroom tempura called "Shirakami Awabi-take" that is not commonly found in the market. The staff recommended a special set deal, so I ended up ordering the Koshizuka set for 1000 yen and one black wagyu beef with soft-boiled egg menchi for 362 yen. I also considered getting the corned beef bowl to take home for dinner, but the staff suggested that I try their homemade corned beef instead, which contains 280g and is a better deal. I ended up buying it along with some tempura, spending almost 3000 yen in total. It was a bit of a splurge for me, but it was my first time buying so much tempura at once since I left the hospital. I couldn't finish everything in one go, so I took a picture of the cut pieces, planning to eat some and freeze the rest for later. The croquette in the Koshizuka set had a clean cross-section and looked delicious, while the soft-boiled egg menchi had more hollow spaces than I expected, making it a bit difficult to eat. The Shirakami Awabi-take had a thin batter, allowing the meaty mushroom texture to shine through, and it was quite satisfying. Although I may not be able to visit again soon, I would definitely buy it again if I had the chance. As for the soft-boiled egg menchi, I found it a bit disappointing as it fell apart easily when cut and was a bit difficult to eat. It was tasty, but the balance between the meat and egg seemed off, making it less enjoyable. When it comes to menchi, I prefer the "Satou no Maru Menchi" that you can buy in Kichijoji or Ginza. Despite not being able to eat too much fried food, I have been enjoying the homemade corned beef by cutting it into small pieces and using it in various dishes. It has a mild saltiness and pairs well with vegetables when stir-fried. I have already used it a few times and am enjoying it.

Next to Konami Sports, there is this shop that I often visit. It's a butcher shop, but their side dishes are quite delicious. The menchi katsu and croquettes are of course delicious, but surprisingly the cabbage rolls are also tasty. I also like their nikujaga (meat and potato stew). This time, I saw for the first time the "Truffle Corned Beef Cream Croquette" - what a long name! When I heard "truffle," I felt like I had to try it, so I bought it. The color is lighter compared to other croquettes, which caught my attention. When I got home and tried it eagerly, I found that the cream croquette is filled with corned beef. It's unusual, but as for the essential truffle flavor, I couldn't really taste it, to be honest. The menchi katsu with half-cooked egg, limited to 30 pieces a day, was as delicious as ever. I always wonder why the egg remains half-cooked even when heated. It's convenient for when I don't feel like cooking rice. (laughs) As always, thank you for the meal!

I have been going to the Koshizuka Skytree store in Negishi, and I was told by someone that the Koshizuka store is a group company. When I asked at the store, they confirmed that it is the same. They explained that they have a contract allowing them to use the trademark "Koshizuka" and promote products like Koshizuka corned beef. I was satisfied with the explanation. I noticed that they sell the same corned beef at the store. Although corned beef is usually considered expensive, the ones from Koshizuka are in large chunks and very satisfying to eat. I used to admire opening canned food since I was a child, but due to exchange rate fluctuations, I could only eat small pieces. However, thanks to Koshizuka, I can now enjoy big, chunky pieces. My friend loves the roast beef here, so they brought me here today to buy souvenirs for my family. The butcher shop also had a lot of bento boxes lined up. It's a stylish space! They offer three types of corned beef, from delicate thin slices to thick slices like the ones in Negishi. I also tried the roast beef, which was delicious. I have decided to visit the restaurant another day!

The annual tradition of Ehomaki, which has been portrayed as the mastermind of food waste, is not something I can easily adapt to. However, one positive aspect is that you can try Ehomaki from different genres of restaurants that you wouldn't normally visit. One such example is a meat shop that has recently expanded to department store basements. Last year, I tried their Kobe beef sirloin roast beef Ehomaki, which was delicious, so this year I visited their shop in Jiyugaoka. The lineup this year includes a "Matsumoto beef rib roast Ehomaki" for 2500 yen, an "upper Ehomaki" for 1500 yen, and a "Koshi-zuka Ehomaki" for 900 yen. When I arrived around 2 pm, there was almost only the upper Ehomaki left. I decided to purchase the last Matsumoto beef rib roast Ehomaki. When I brought it home and shared it with my partner, we found it to be more of a snack to accompany drinks rather than a meal. The center ingredients included roast beef, beef simmered in soy sauce, tamagoyaki, cucumber, and finely chopped carrots, surrounded by a small amount of sushi rice. The Matsumoto beef rib roast, enjoyed on its own, was truly delicious. Overall, the Ehomaki was tasty, although the simmered beef could have been a bit less salty. In conclusion, I enjoyed a delicious Ehomaki for Setsubun this year.

I found out that Yoshibe, famous for its corned beef, offers Ehomaki, so I decided to stop by since I had some errands to run. I didn't make a reservation, so it was more of a lucky chance. The cheapest option was sold out, so I purchased one for 1,500 yen. It had a slightly sukiyaki-like taste. I faced northeast and enjoyed it~♫ I also bought some croquettes on my way back. They were very sweet, maybe because of the sweetness of the potatoes, so I think I still prefer the minced meat ones.

[January 2019] Revisited. When I wanted to relax at home but also eat something delicious, I thought of this place. Since the bento box I had last time was so delicious, I stopped by again. This time, I got two types of bento boxes and two types of menchi-katsu (regular and with egg). I brought them home, left the bento boxes as they were, and reheated the menchi-katsu in the toaster oven before eating. The meat in the bento boxes was as tasty as ever, with the quality of the beef really coming through. The menchi-katsu, on the other hand, was even more impressive this time. I've been practicing making tonkatsu recently, but it's hard to find deep-fried food this delicious. The flavor of the meat, the juiciness, the crispy coating - everything was fantastic. Personally, this place in Jiyugaoka is a gem when I want to eat meat. I definitely want to stop by again when I crave something delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I visited in the early evening on a regular day. I used takeout on the 1st floor and bought various fried side dishes. Next to the register, there was a set of "Matsuri" roast beef sushi and croquettes for 1000 yen. The roast beef sushi had a half-cooked egg inside. I also bought a minced cutlet for 232 yen, a seasonal minced cutlet (cheese-filled) for 260 yen, a cream croquette for 204 yen, and an egg minced cutlet for 352 yen. The cream croquette with corned beef was delicious, as expected from Koshizuka!

I bought corned beef croquette, soft-boiled egg minced cutlet, and black wagyu minced cutlet. My personal favorite is the black wagyu minced cutlet. The meatiness is just to my liking! I ended up eating two of them, haha. The corned beef croquette was also delicious with the homemade corned beef inside adding a nice touch. The soft-boiled egg minced cutlet lived up to its reputation of being delicious. The combination of egg and meat is truly the best. This is actually my second visit. It's so delicious, so if you ever visit Jiyugaoka, be sure to try it out!
