Thin and crispy grilled rice cake!! The outside is crunchy and fragrant!! The inside was so thin that when I took a bite, hot sweet red bean paste suddenly squirted out from the belly and I got startled (´°ω°`) Be careful when eating on the go! It's very hot!! It's my favorite, so if I have the chance to go to Ikebukuro again, I'll definitely eat it again!

After having lunch in Ikebukuro, I visited this taiyaki shop that I had been curious about for a while. The shop was open, but the door was closed, so I was unsure how to make a purchase. However, when I opened the glass door, the owner told me that they were only selling red bean taiyaki due to the hot weather. I bought one for 180 yen. The taiyaki was put in a paper bag for me to eat while walking. The taiyaki had a crispy outer layer, giving it a nice texture. The filling was generously packed with sweet red bean paste, which had a strong but delicious flavor. The shop is conveniently located near Ikebukuro Station, and considering the quality for the price of 180 yen, it was a good value. Thank you for the meal.

It's not natural. Taiyaki, huh. I spotted it while walking down the street. It must not be natural, right? I want to eat it. I'll stop by to buy it after finishing my errands in the evening. It's still warm! And there are some slightly burnt parts. I'm happy, it must be a natural Taiyaki. The tail is crispy, the fragrant burnt part, and the hot sweet red bean paste are delicious. The price is reasonable, and I think it should be more appreciated. I can't help but think that about this place. Well, my enjoyment of coming to Ikebukuro has increased by one more thing.

There was not much of a wait, so I decided to line up. This shop always has a long queue, but this time there were only 3 groups ahead of me, so I decided to wait. I ordered and received my freshly baked taiyaki in order as it was ready. I couldn't see much inside the shop, but I could hear the sound of air "pshh, pshh". When I could see inside the shop, I saw the freshly baked taiyaki coming out of a conveyor belt. I was curious about how they were baked, but it seemed to be quite automated. The shop staff skillfully cut off any excess dough from the taiyaki as they took orders. This is a sign of their expertise. This time, I bought "red bean paste" and "custard" taiyaki for takeout, each priced at ¥180. The smell of the freshly baked taiyaki was delightful. When I got home, I warmed up the taiyaki in the oven a bit. The filling was concentrated in the middle, while the tail was the part where you could enjoy the crispy skin. Eating it with the filling was a nostalgic taste. Perhaps this is why this shop is so popular. Itadakimasu!

¥180. My impression note. April 10, 2023. Around 3 PM, I had a red bean paste bun. It seemed like it was premade. The filling was too lukewarm, making the dough part too chewy. Maybe the person making it can't communicate well? Probably not motivated because it's premade. The taste was average, considering the low price, but the size of the bun was on the smaller side. Thank you for the meal.

Fukuyoshi's taiyaki has a perfect balance of fluffy skin and sweet red bean paste filling. The red bean paste is not too sweet and has a rich flavor that doesn't get boring. The skin is thin and crispy. Located a 5-minute walk from Ikebukuro Station, this recommended shop exudes a nostalgic atmosphere.

After a food tour in Itabashi on a holiday, I headed to Ikebukuro. There is a taiyaki stand just a 2-minute walk from Ikebukuro Station East Exit. It is said to be a long-established store that has been around for almost 70 years. Despite passing by it before due to being closed during off hours or holidays, I finally visited around 3 PM. The shutter was open with a sign indicating a wait time of 5-10 minutes. I patiently waited in line at the front. As I waited, pedestrians passing by would ask if they were open, only to have the window shut with a response of "5 minutes wait". After 5 minutes, the window opened and I thought it was finally my turn, but there was still a bit of a wait. The person inside was quickly finishing up the taiyaki. They called out loudly asking if anyone was waiting for custard taiyaki. The line remained silent, so they proceeded. Finally, the long-awaited taiyaki was ready. I couldn't eat it on the spot since I still had the hotcakes from earlier, so I enjoyed it at home. The crispy tail of the taiyaki was delightful. The sweetness of the dough was subtle, and the red bean paste inside was generously filled. It was satisfying without being too heavy. It was worth the wait. I will definitely come back. Bon appétit!

Red bean paste + custard 180 yen each. The red bean paste doesn't have a tail like last time, but I already knew that so I wasn't too disappointed. It actually adds a nice change in flavor, so maybe it's not so bad. I guess I have a simple taste. The custard is sweet and delicious, but not as good as the red bean paste. No tail with red bean paste here either. Arrived on Saturday at 5:00 PM, had to wait for 6 people. Will come back again.

The taiyaki with red bean paste costs 180 yen. The skin is crispy and fragrant, with a crunchy edge. It is delicious without being too powdery, unlike the taiyaki from chain stores. However, it was a bit disappointing that the tail end was thin and lacked red bean paste. The body of the taiyaki is filled with plenty of red bean paste, so it's just a matter of balance. Even the parts without red bean paste were tasty in their own way. I'm unsure how to rate this... I arrived on a Sunday at 4:15 PM and there was no wait. It's rare to find a taiyaki shop still open in the city, so I want to support it, but it was a bit of a letdown this time. I'll give it another try.

I happened to come across a quaint taiyaki shop while passing by. After finishing my errands, I noticed a line forming outside the shop and decided to join it since I hadn't had lunch yet. They had two flavors - custard and red bean paste. I chose red bean paste. The crispy texture of the outer edge of the taiyaki was delightful. The red bean paste was not too sweet and filled the entire tail end of the taiyaki. The combination of the crispy texture and the red bean paste was really good. It was a lucky find and I'm glad I stopped by. It seems like there is no parking available.

It is nice to have a good time with old friends, but honestly, hopping to three different places can lead to feeling sleepy or dealing with inappropriate comments or actions from drunk friends towards the end, which can leave you feeling uncomfortable the next day. Some friends start off strong but lose energy towards the end, which is known as being a "flash in the pan" type. They actually just innocently want to go home after the first round without pushing it. On the other hand, those who can maintain the same energy level from start to finish are known as "consistent throughout," going from "head" to "tail" without changing. Today's snack is a taiyaki filled with red bean paste from Fukuyoshi, where you can enjoy from "head" to "tail. I stopped by on the way because I was a little hungry. In the past, it seems like they used to serve ramen and other dishes, but now they seem to have focused on taiyaki. The menu includes red bean paste and custard. I ordered the classic red bean paste flavor. It's a bit old-fashioned to open the small window and have a conversation, but using PayPay for payment is modern. I decided to eat the taiyaki in front of the shop. The skin is thin and crispy. The red bean paste inside has a good balance of sweetness and a hint of saltiness. By the way, I took a big bite from the head, and according to a personality test, "those who eat from the head are not concerned with the details." Well, that's not true, as I still hold a grudge from the recent incident at a drinking party with my junior colleague. Despite that, the taiyaki with a generous amount of delicious red bean paste can be enjoyed at any place, maintaining the same level of enjoyment throughout. I would like to try the custard flavor next time.

- Tsubuan (Red bean paste) Taiyaki: ¥180 tax included - Custard Taiyaki: ¥180 tax included Located about a 3-minute walk from the east exit of Ikebukuro Station on the JR Yamanote Line, this taiyaki shop is where I tried taiyaki for the first time in many years. I think the last time I had it was during my student days. Back then, movie theaters allowed you to watch the same movie continuously without having to leave and re-enter. I remember using "Movie Day" promotions to spend a whole day at the movies, and I must have bought and eaten this taiyaki as a snack. However, I don't quite remember the taste from back then. Despite the nostalgic memories, I enjoyed it with a fresh perspective. I arrived at the shop around 30 minutes after their scheduled opening time and opted for a takeout. I enjoyed it as a snack. [Tsubuan Taiyaki] This was a farmed type of taiyaki. It wasn't the refined taste of a specialty shop, but rather simple. The red bean paste was unevenly placed, with one side showing more, and the tail lacked filling. The texture of the dough was chewy. Since it was farmed, it didn't have the crispy thin skin, and the sweetness of the red bean paste was average. But overall, it felt just right. [Custard Taiyaki] As a variation from the tsubuan, I tried the custard flavor. It gave off the same simple impression. There was quite a generous amount of store-bought custard cream inside. Since I barely remembered the taste from before, it didn't evoke any nostalgic feelings while eating. It was a satisfying snack for under ¥200. Thank you for the treat.

I bought it because I wanted to try it without waiting in line. I was curious to see if it would be my favorite Taiyaki. My favorite Taiyaki place is San in Nezu, which has thin skin Taiyaki. This time, I was wondering if it would be similar. It's not exactly thin-skinned everywhere, but in some places it is. There wasn't red bean paste all the way to the tail, but there was plenty of red bean paste in some parts. On this day, they only had whole bean paste, but they might have crushed bean paste at other times. Personally, I felt that the texture of the dough was a little different - I didn't like the oily feeling and the pancake mix-like texture of the dough.

After enjoying lunch at Fukushin and doing a bit of shopping, I was heading towards the parking lot when I noticed a sign for "taiyaki" at this shop. I was intrigued by the nostalgic Showa-era atmosphere of the shop and decided to buy some. The sign said one taiyaki for 170 yen, so I ordered two. They handed me the already baked taiyaki in a small paper bag. I took a photo of the taiyaki and then my dad said, "Here," handing me one. I asked, "Here?" as he seemed to think I ordered one for myself. He still doesn't quite understand me. I told him that I would eat one now and the other would be his snack later. I tore off a portion that I could eat and tried it. The belly part was filled with a generous amount of sweet red bean paste. The paste was moist and quite delicious. The tail part didn't have any filling and tasted a bit burnt, like it was overcooked. However, the belly part had a soft texture, while the tail part was crispy, making it a tasty taiyaki overall. Despite the development in Ikebukuro, I hope shops like this will continue to thrive. Keep up the good work in Ikebukuro. Thank you for the meal.

Yokoya in Yotsuya, Waka in Ningyocho, and Naniwaya Honpo in Azabu-Juban are known as the top three taiyaki shops in Tokyo. I used to follow a low-carb diet, but when I tried taiyaki after a long time, I was surprised by how delicious it was. There are various types of taiyaki available, such as natural ones, farmed ones, with fins, etc. In Tokyo Station, you can even find small taiyaki shops. However, there are not many shops that serve taiyaki as a standalone item, with many offering it as part of a combo with shaved ice or other items. Recently, I heard about a shop near Ikebukuro Station that serves taiyaki along with ramen and other Chinese dishes. I was curious about this combination, but unfortunately, the shop was not open when I passed by. So, I decided to try the taiyaki instead. The taiyaki was made using an automated process, with each taiyaki dropping down individually. The filling was well-rounded, with a decent amount of red bean paste. The skin was thick, resembling more like a pastry than a traditional taiyaki. The balance between the skin and the filling was interesting, making it a unique take on taiyaki. Overall, it was a new genre of taiyaki with a thick skin and plenty of filling.

The takeout option is 20 yen cheaper, but the atmosphere inside the store is nice, and they serve tea, so I want to enjoy it inside. The taiyaki is well-cooked, with a crispy skin that has a senbei-like flavor. The filling is decent. A quaint taiyaki shop in a back alley in Ikebukuro.

I was craving something sweet after eating rice, but I couldn't eat a lot because I was almost full. I decided to get a taiyaki, but they were still preparing it. I went to get my hair cut and when I came back, they had resumed but could only offer me custard. I bought it and ate it right away, and I was satisfied!

It has a mysterious appearance, making it hard to tell if it's open or not, but this taiyaki shop in Ikebukuro is quite popular. I had a freshly baked, piping hot taiyaki filled with plenty of sweet red bean paste, and it was delicious. If you buy one alone, you'll have to wait in line.

There is a shop on the way from Ikebukuro Station to Sunshine City. It's a little hard to find because it only has a sign. Inside, the staff make a large amount of taiyaki. They cut off the burnt parts and unwanted parts with scissors before handing it to you. It's really nice! The prices are reasonable, so it's perfect for a cold day. Definitely stop by and try one when you get the chance!
