The medium fatty tuna was sold out so I bought the tuna belly instead. It was freshly grilled and tasted even better than I imagined. The dough was similar to taiyaki but slightly different and delicious! The red bean paste inside was also delicious! I recommend it as a snack for eating on the go!

Ordered medium fatty tuna (red bean paste and apricot) and yellowfin tuna (custard). The medium fatty tuna had a chewy texture, while the yellowfin tuna had a crispy, traditional taiyaki-like crust. The sweet and tangy flavor of the apricot in the red bean paste was irresistible! I find myself eating it every time I visit Tsukiji.

@furikaeriblog#Tsukiji Sanokiya [Tsukiji Market Outside Market] On a Saturday afternoon past 2 pm, the Tsukiji Market outside market felt like it was running late. Despite the scorching hot weather, the Tsukiji Market was lively and bustling, which was great to see! The energy was so high that it was a bit difficult to move around, with the shops being crowded and hard to get into. The originally planned tuna-filled roll was sold out, and there were long lines for the Chinese soba, young leaf, and fox intestines... Now, what should I eat while strolling around the Tsukiji Market outside market? After some thought, I decided to move to a different eating spot!! And that's how I ended up purchasing a "Maguro Yaki" (grilled tuna) from a shop that was selling them. It's not the traditional taiyaki with red snapper, but rather a tuna version. Let me just say, I'm sorry. Honestly, I thought it was just for the aesthetics, but it turned out to be a sweet treat!! The crispy texture of the dough was great, and most importantly, the red bean paste was delicious!! The custard was also delicious with a rich eggy flavor, but I must say, the red bean paste stole the show. The chewy texture of the dough was different from the crispy one, and it was unfortunately sold out of the toro (fatty tuna) filling. I wonder if that means it's more popular? I'm curious! I visited on a regular day. It's a maguro-yaki (taiyaki) shop in Tsukiji. I ordered the tuna-filled taiyaki! The hot and crispy dough with plenty of red bean paste inside was delicious (*^^*). The cute appearance makes you want to take a picture of it too. Thank you for the meal♪

The final stop on the Tokyo Tsukiji food tour was this shop! Tsukiji [Sanokiya] It's always a popular shop with long lines, and even on this day, there were many people. But I was able to get the grilled tuna (220 yen) which was made with real tuna! Grilled tuna is like a taiyaki, right? It was crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, and quite delicious. It seems like they close when they sell out, so it's recommended to visit early. Thank you for the meal♪

There are two types of grilled tuna like a taiyaki: honmaguro and chutoro. I tried the chutoro for 240 yen! The chutoro has a chewy white dough with red bean paste and apricot inside! It's delicious ♡ There was a long line here too, even though it was still early afternoon on a weekday, and the chutoro was the last one left. Lucky ♡

I visited around 1 pm on Saturday. There was no line, so I was able to purchase right away. I bought the custard-filled Kitabamaguro, while my mother and son bought the red bean-filled Honmaguro. Both were piping hot. The composition was similar to a regular taiyaki, with a slightly sweet dough and plenty of creamy custard. The wings were crispy and delicious. Honestly, I wasn't expecting much, but I was surprised by how delicious it was. I like red bean too, but I definitely prefer custard. It's 240 yen, which is 20 yen more than the red bean, but still very reasonable. Thank you for the meal.

I went on a tour of Tsukiji and ended with grilled tuna! It took some time to make, with a 30-minute wait after ordering. I wandered around Tsukiji to pass the time. I bought the grilled tuna with sweet red bean paste. It was delicious with a crispy and moist texture. A few years ago, I had grilled tuna with lots of red bean paste, so I felt slightly underwhelmed compared to that, but it was still delicious. Nothing beats sweet red bean paste!

One recommended gourmet food to try at Tsukiji Market is the grilled tuna. There are three types of red bean paste to choose from. You are given a number tag and when your order is ready, they call out your number. The grilled tuna was delicious, with a crispy and chewy texture.

This tuna-shaped taiyaki called "Maguro-yaki" is a unique sweet treat that you must try at Tsukiji Market! Made with Hokkaido red beans and a flaky crust, the anko filling is not too sweet. There are also options with chutoro (red bean paste) and kihada maguro (custard) fillings, each with a different type of dough. Definitely worth a try when you visit Tsukiji Market!

Grilled tuna. I prefer the chewy medium fatty tuna. Even though I had just eaten sushi, it was so delicious that I couldn't resist eating it all. The combination of apricot jam and sweet bean paste was also amazing. Despite moving to Toyosu, Tsukiji was still bustling. I like the chaotic and old-fashioned atmosphere.

When it comes to Tsukiji, it's all about tuna! Introducing "Maguroyaki," shaped like a tuna, with red bean paste made from Tokachi beans, without any additives and with reduced sweetness. The crispy outer shell is filled with either real tuna (red bean paste) or yellowfin tuna (custard cream), while the chewy inner shell contains medium fatty tuna (red bean paste & apricot). Of course, the taiyaki is also shaped like a tuna.【Address】4-11-9 Tsukiji, Chuo-ku, Tokyo【Arrival Date】Weekday【Number of People in Line】0 people【Wait Time】0 minutes【Ordered Items】■ Tuna Red Bean Paste 220 yen (tax included)The "real tuna" is filled with plenty of red bean paste in a crispy outer shell, made with a focus on no additives and reduced sweetness.

Seventh stop on the Tsukiji food tour. Last one. Ending with something sweet. Tried the famous Tsukiji specialty, Maguro-yaki (grilled tuna). This shop caught my attention as it often appeared on social media. Located in the Tsukiji Outer Market, it seems to have been loved for a long time since its opening in 2009. The Maguro-yaki comes in "Hon Maguro" and "Chutoro" options, with different dough and fillings. I ordered the Chutoro with a dough that was chewy with red bean paste and apricot inside. They also had a menu item with Skipjack Tuna that looked like custard. The shop is open from 7:00 to 15:00, so it's best to go early. The dough was crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, very delicious. The red bean paste was not too sweet, and the apricot added a nice touch. [Order]: Maguro-yaki Chutoro 240 yen

The shop was supposed to open at 6:00 according to the internet, but when I arrived before 8:00 on Saturday, there was still a sign saying they were preparing. An elderly lady noticed this from the back of the shop and opened up for me. She mentioned it would take about 10 minutes for the items to be ready, so I took an order slip and decided to come back later. I ordered one Maguro-yaki with crispy dough and one with chewy dough. The crispy dough was not like a croissant, but had a slightly softer and chewier texture than a regular taiyaki, with a moist filling. The chewy dough was exactly as described, stretchy and chewy, with the sweetness of the filling complemented by the tartness of apricot. While it may not be a must-try in Tsukiji, the charming elderly lady made it a pleasant dining experience.

At this place outside Tsukiji Market, the shop was said to open at 7:00 on the Tabelog website, but a staff member preparing the shop told me it opens at 8:00, so I decided to come back later. The Anko-filled Taiyaki with crispy crust was delicious, with just the right amount of sweetness from head to tail. The Anko-filled Taiyaki with white, chewy texture and the acidity of apricot and sweetness of Anko made it a unique and delicious treat. They also have souvenirs available, and I was impressed by the cute appearance, so I definitely want to visit again next time.

At Tsukiji Outer Market, they offer a unique twist on the traditional taiyaki with their Maguro-yaki. It comes in three varieties: "Hon-maguro" with crispy outer skin and red bean paste filling, "Chu-toro" with chewy skin and red bean paste with syrup-soaked apricot (or pineapple or kiwi when apricot is not available), and "Kihada-maguro" with crispy skin and custard cream filling. The Hon-maguro costs 220 yen and you order verbally and pay in advance. The place was not crowded when I visited, so I opted to enjoy my Maguro-yaki on the terrace seats on the 3rd floor of Tsukiji Uogashi Building, just a minute's walk away. The Maguro-yaki was warm and delicious, with a slightly less sweet red bean paste filling. The unique shape and fluffy texture made for a satisfying snack. In addition to Maguro-yaki, they also offer Maguro cream puffs and Maguro cream puff ice cream. If you're in Tsukiji Outer Market, be sure to stop by this place.

At Sano-ya, I tried the grilled tuna. This is a limited-time dish available only on certain days at the off-market here. I thought it was a kind of taiyaki-like sweet, but the chu-toro was soft with red bean paste, mochi, and pineapple inside. I paired it with a cafe au lait from Senri-ken (laughs). Thanks to the pineapple, it felt light and was delicious.

After eating in Ginza, I took a walk to Tsukiji. I visited a shop that offers "maguro-yaki" instead of taiyaki. I ordered the "medium fatty tuna (yuzu & red bean paste)" for 240 yen. It was ready in about 3 minutes after ordering. The skin was thin and very chewy, which was a unique feature. The filling contained yuzu and red bean paste, which was a new combination for me. The yuzu flavor stood out a bit, but it harmonized well with the red bean paste.
