Located between Itabashi Station and Shimo-Itabashi Station, the Thai restaurant "Khrua Chaophraya" has moved. It has reopened between Kita-Ikebukuro Station and Sugamo-Shinden Station! From Ikebukuro, it took about a 15-minute walk to get there. It may look like a traditional Japanese-style pub, but it is indeed a Thai restaurant. Let's rediscover the simplicity of our hearts that we had almost forgotten, and enjoy some drinks.
★ Chang Beer ¥580
When you order Singha or Chang beer, you will receive shrimp crackers as a service. In other words, they want you to order Singha or Chang beer. Understood!
★ Minced Chicken Salad ¥580
The menu here is written in very simple Japanese, making it easy to understand. However, for someone familiar with Thai dish names, it may take a moment to figure out. Minced chicken salad... Oh, you mean Larb Gai. As someone who often says "Larb" as a habit, I have tried various types of Larb, but the one here is coarsely minced meat, with mild spiciness and a strong sour taste. It has a taste reminiscent of restaurants in Bangkok rather than the Isan region.
★ Mekong Coke ¥380
Although it is called Mekong Whiskey, it is actually mostly rum. When mixed with cola, it becomes a rum and coke. As someone who often says "Rum and Coke," I have tried various types of rum and coke, but this one, made with Indian McDowell rum, lacks the strong aroma of Nepalese Khukri rum and coke. However, you can still enjoy the unique taste of Mekong, making it a recommended choice.
★ Tom Yum Fried Rice ¥780
Well, this one can't be bad. By default, it is mildly spicy and juicy. If you want it spicier, they will bring a set of table condiments for you. As someone who often says "Spicy," I like to generously pour the chili fish sauce and prick nam pla on the fried rice for the ultimate enjoyment. It's a bit naughty, but it gives you a pleasant sensation. The menu also includes stir-fried dishes and deep-fried dishes, all reasonably priced. With access from many stations (although a bit far from each station), it's a great place for a casual meal with friends.
