In October 2022, I visited "Aito Denki Mochi Shop" near Yoyogi Hachimangu Shrine. They specialize in Denki Mochi, a traditional daifuku that has been made in Minamisoma City, Fukushima Prefecture since 1916. I made a reservation online as they operate on a reservation-only basis. The products were carefully wrapped in a furoshiki. I also bought some kinako mochi. I purchased the following items: 5 pieces of fresh daifuku for 2,200 yen and kinako mochi for 300 yen. The expiration time is 5 hours, so I quickly brought them back to my hotel. I was expecting the Denki Mochi to have a unique popping sensation in my mouth, but it turned out to be a soft and delicate daifuku with a refined sweetness in the filling. Although they are small, the price of 440 yen per piece may seem high, but it is worth it for the freshly made mochi texture. The kinako mochi was also delicious, but I personally prefer the fresh daifuku. Thank you for the wonderful treat!

I made a reservation the day before and visited for the first time. I had the Daifuku with white bean paste filling, and the first one I ate about an hour and a half after receiving it was the most delicious. As mentioned in the description, I felt that the taste had slightly deteriorated when I ate it after some time had passed. Thank you for the meal.

I purchased a limited-time strawberry daifuku for 450 yen. It is made using only 100% glutinous rice, with no additives or preservatives, following the same traditional method from 100 years ago. It is made fresh daily and has a shelf life of 5 hours. The texture of the mochi is incredibly soft and chewy, while the red bean paste is light and fluffy, not too heavy. It pairs perfectly with the soft mochi. The strawberries are perfectly ripe. The regular daifuku and red bean paste are the same, but they use a different type of sugar that complements the strawberries. I would love to try more of their daifuku, both the limited-time ones and the regular ones.

On this day, while taking a walk around Yoyogi Park, I happened to pass by a shop that I remembered having visited before. Intrigued by the sign saying they had freshly made items, I decided to go in. I bought some kinako mochi and ate it about 2 hours later. It was soft and chewy, and delicious. The generous amount of kinako powder was the best part! Of the two I bought, I ate the second one the next day. It had become a little harder, but still tasted pretty good. The other item I tried was a sakura mochi. It had a flavor that seemed like sake lees, which was not mentioned in any other reviews. Both myself and my companion felt the same way. We both preferred regular mochi.

Takeout for fresh daifuku. It's a famous shop. What a surprise! The expiration date is 5 hours!! Out of curiosity, I tried eating one the next day, but... everyone, please eat it within 5 hours. Definitely! It's not delicious when eaten the next day. Of course, fresh daifuku eaten on the same day is delicious. Thank you for the meal.

* Waiting time * Holiday 14:48 4th person 14:56 Purchase completed * Order & Amount * Fresh Daifuku 300 yen * Shop atmosphere * The atmosphere was not overly decorated as I had expected. * Service * I could see the aunties working briskly. Electronic payment is available. * Impression * I was intrigued after researching online and decided to purchase. I ate it on a bench in the nearby Yoyogi Park as it has a 5-hour shelf life. When I tried it, I was surprised that the mochi was not too sweet. It had a slightly rough texture that felt freshly made. The red bean paste was fine-grained and delicious. * Things I would like to expect * I had imagined a sophisticated wagashi, but it turned out to have a surprisingly gentle flavor.

A mochi shop near Yoyogi Hachimangu Shrine caught my attention with its factory-like appearance, giving off a very authentic vibe. Originally from Minamisoma City, Fukushima Prefecture, this shop has a history of 107 years. Their website states that reservations are required, and you can only purchase a minimum of 5 items, with a 5-hour shelf life. It seemed impossible, so I gave up. However, today I saw a sign saying "available for the day" and decided to go in. To my surprise, they had individual items for sale. The staff explained that individual items are only available for walk-in customers, while sets require reservations. It was a bit confusing. Although I'm not sure if they have individual items available every day, they did have them today, so don't worry. The shop, connected to a factory, had a small sales area but offered a variety of products. The prices were a bit high, so I opted for their signature item, the fresh daifuku. The staff was very friendly. They only accept cashless payments, so be aware. The daifuku was tiny when I got home. I was surprised at how small it was and thought it was expensive. But when I tried it, I was impressed! It was so soft and fluffy, with a smooth texture. It had a simple, gentle flavor, with a slight graininess from the glutinous rice. The sweet red bean paste was light and had a smooth melt-in-your-mouth texture. You could tell they take their mochi seriously, but the red bean paste was pretty standard. It was so small that I finished it in no time. While I could appreciate their dedication, I personally wished for a bit more flavor. It felt too refined for my taste. Also, it was too small and expensive. If you're a mochi enthusiast, definitely give it a try! Thank you for the meal!

I made a reservation last Monday for 11:30, so I arrived at 11:25 and had to wait about 10 minutes as there were already 3 groups in line. I purchased strawberry daifuku and kinako mochi. The fresh daifuku should be consumed within 5 hours, so I enjoyed it after lunch. The mochi was chewy and not too sweet, wrapped in a fragrant mugwort leaf. It had a refined sweetness, perfect for those who prefer less sweet treats. My family, who tried the strawberry daifuku, described it as a perfect dessert.

I happened to come across a Japanese confectionery shop called Shieri while walking by. I used to not like mochi much and didn't eat it, but recently I've started enjoying it. I ordered a soft mochi with smooth red bean paste, a soft mochi with chunky red bean paste, and a mochi without red bean paste but with mugwort flavor. I was surprised that they only accepted electronic payments. I walked back home from here to Shinjuku 1-chome with a small bag containing the mochi. When I got home, the mochi had become a bit deformed, but it was soft and tasted like freshly pounded mochi. There was a little bit of red bean paste inside, it was a nice treat.

It's a gift. A fresh daifuku with a shelf life of 5 hours. The reason for the short expiration date is that the dough contains almost no sugar. It's not the typical sweetened dough, so without sugar to retain moisture, the starch deteriorates over time and hardens when cooled. So it's best to eat it sooner rather than later. It was delicious. The filling inside is mildly sweet, and the dough has a strong taste of rice. It truly lives up to the name of fresh daifuku. It's a rare find, and I am grateful to have received it.

In Fukushima Prefecture, Minamisoma City, there is a traditional daifuku that has been made since the 5th year of the Taisho era. Made without any additives or preservatives, using only 100% mochi rice, and following the same production method for 100 years, the expiration date is only 5 hours. - When to use: Takeout on Sundays - Reservation: Reservation required (pre-order online) - Cost: ¥1,000 to ¥2,000 - Menu: - Fresh Daifuku: 5 pieces for ¥2,200 - Summer Strawberry Fresh Daifuku: ¥570 The daifuku has a unique softness and a strong rice flavor, with a delicate and elegant sweet red bean paste filling. The summer strawberry version has a perfect balance of acidity and sweetness. Despite the high cost, it is definitely worth trying at least once. The customer service is very polite, and they offer additional items for purchase. The store has a small space with only one group allowed inside at a time. The atmosphere is cozy, with the checkout counter facing the working area where the mochi is made. Overall, despite the short expiration date, it is a delicious treat that is great for gifts!

I saw "Yakai" on TV and just had to try it, so I quickly made a reservation and bought it! I was able to buy it right away without a reservation, while glancing at the people waiting in line. The packaging has a nice touch to it. After buying the fresh daifuku, I carried it around for a bit and had to be careful not to let the daifuku stick together because it was too soft. The elegant sweet red bean paste and the chewy soft skin go well together and taste delicious. The summer strawberry daifuku has a good balance of tartness from the strawberries and sweetness from the red bean paste.

A mochi shop near Yoyogi-Hachiman, which was also featured on TV, offers mochi that is free of additives. Due to its natural ingredients, the mochi has a short shelf life of only a few hours. The mochi is very soft and fluffy, stretching and expanding as you eat it. I also tried their strawberry daifuku, which was perfect for the season. The sweet bean paste was not too sweet, allowing the natural sweetness and acidity of the strawberries to shine through. I was extremely satisfied with the elegant and delicious taste. I definitely want to treat myself to this exquisite treat again this year.

I finally tried the trending 5-hour expiration date daifuku and it was delicious❤️ Besides the plain white daifuku, the other flavors were just average. The white daifuku had a mild sweetness with a hint of sweetness from the red bean paste, making it a taste that you could eat multiple pieces of. The staff were friendly and the store had a clean atmosphere, which was nice. However, from a cost-performance perspective, I probably won't be going back next time.

During weekdays in the evening, without a reservation, I waited until the person in front of me finished and then entered the store. It seemed like they didn't run out of anything. I was planning to buy something usual, but I was captivated by the strawberry daifuku and ended up buying just one. It was quite voluminous and as advertised, the mochi was soft. The sweet bean paste was not too sweet, just right. When it comes to any kind of food, I think the best way to enjoy the softness is to eat it right after purchasing.

Located in Yoyogi-Hachiman, Aito Denki Mochi Ten is a shop where you can enjoy freshly made daifuku with a 5-hour expiration period. They offer a variety of mochi and daifuku for takeout, mostly by reservation, but sometimes they have same-day options available on Instagram or in-store. The daifuku is made with 100% glutinous rice without any additives or preservatives, and it is incredibly soft, fluffy, and chewy. It's the best daifuku I've ever had. The seasonal strawberry daifuku was also delicious. I can't wait to go back and just buy some mochi next time.

Located a 7-minute walk from Yoyogi Park Station, along Yamate Street. While sales are by reservation only, you may be able to purchase cancellations without a reservation. I really wanted to try it, so I made a reservation this time. To reserve, select the product, quantity, and pick-up time on our website, add it to your cart, and enter your credit card information to complete the purchase. Today's purchase: 5 pieces of 2-color fresh daifuku (2 mugwort, 3 white) for 2,260 yen. Upon returning home and opening the package, I found beautifully wrapped boxes that reflect the elegance of the store. I couldn't wait to brew some tea and took a bite! The mochi was so soft and moist. Made with 100% mochi rice without any additives or preservatives, paired with a delicate sweet bean paste. A luxurious treat. I feel like bringing it as a souvenir for someone! Thank you for the delicious meal ♡

I tried the fresh daifuku at "Ai to Denki Mochiten" in Yoyogi-Hachiman. The shop opened last November, but it is actually a long-established store that has been around for over 100 years in Fukushima Prefecture. They operate on a reservation-only basis to ensure the mochi stays soft, with a shelf life of 5 hours. The packaging of the daifuku is also unique and stylish. When I tried one, I found that the sweet red bean paste was subtly sweet with a hint of salt. The meticulous daifuku was incredibly soft, and the mochi itself was delicious. It's so good that you might find yourself reaching for a second or third one. While it makes a perfect souvenir, it can be a bit challenging to bring it in its best condition as recommended by the shop. This makes it a perfect gift for someone special. Overall, it's a special treat that would be appreciated by anyone. Thank you for the meal.

I went without a reservation at 2:00 p.m. on a weekday, but I was able to buy it. It's a completely reservation-only system with short business hours. What a sense of exclusivity. The mochi is probably freshly made. It's really delicious. No, I think it's the deliciousness of being freshly made. The price is also high. A small daifuku costs 300 yen. If I have the chance, I'll go again. It's a learning experience.

I happened to find this place on my way back from Yoyogi Park. It seemed like reservations were required, but they had some available for the day, so I bought a yomogi daifuku. The shop is known for making mochi with machines, but it was a bit strange to see a craftsman stuffing the anko. The shop seems to have a long history, but the packaging is stylish and the atmosphere feels like a newly opened store. When I tried it, the mochi was soft and fluffy. It was light and easy to eat. The daifuku has a delicate and mysterious texture, almost like a drink. It seems like it would be appreciated by anyone you give it to.

I saw the reviews of Mairebi-san and couldn't resist making a reservation. This place offers completely reserved fresh daifuku with a shelf life of 5 hours. Reservations can be made online from the Instagram homepage starting at 10:00 on Mondays, with pick-up available from Wednesday to Sunday between 11:00 and 15:00 in 30-minute time slots. I was able to secure my desired date and time since I went on a weekday. It's a 5-minute walk from Yoyogi-Hachiman Station. When I arrived, I saw a sign saying "Available for the day" on the glass outside, which surprised me as I thought it was reservation-only. Inside, there were signs for "Strawberry Daifuku," "Cold Zenzai," and "Ohagi Daifuku." I chose the maroon color daifuku and also bought Ohagi Daifuku and Strawberry Daifuku. The daifuku had a shelf life of 5 hours, but there was no specific mention of this when I picked it up. The daifuku had a delicate and beautiful presentation, and the mochi was soft and smooth. The taste was somewhat light, and I found myself finishing it quickly without much memory of the flavor. It felt a bit pricey at 2200 yen for 5 daifuku. The Strawberry Daifuku was good, with a nice balance of sweetness and tartness. The mochi was stretchy and soft, but at 520 yen each, it felt expensive. The highlight for me was the Ohagi, especially the black sesame paste version. It had a delightful combination of flavors and textures, making it worth the 600 yen price tag. Overall, I enjoyed the experience and would like to try it again if I'm in the area.
