Doraemon, monaka purchase! The brown sugar flavor isn't very strong, it's not too sweet. The red bean paste is moist and sticky, with whole red bean grains that stand out. The Mont Blanc doraemon has large chestnuts inside. The paste is chestnut-flavored. However, the chestnut flavor is not very noticeable. The honey lemon flavor is quite strong, with a moist white bean paste inside. Smooth texture. The lemon scent is very refreshing, maybe even better than the Mont Blanc. The skin is fluffy and moist, with a good melt-in-your-mouth texture. The monaka has a double-layered mochi inside, heavier than expected. The sweetness is quite strong. The Mont Blanc flavor was not very noticeable.

●Tokyo Suzunonaka ¥650 ★★★☆ [Product Description] *This popular confectionery, exclusive to Gransta, wraps carefully cooked "anko" and soft double-layered mochi in a crispy monaka shell. ●Other Information *No dining area (sales only). *No complimentary water service. *No complimentary hand towels. *Restrooms are located outside the store premises (inside Tokyo Station). *No charging available (no power outlets). *Customer service is average. *Cleaning and interior setup are average. *Crowd levels vary depending on the season and time, but there was no waiting to enter or pay at the register. *The main store is located inside the station gates, requiring a separate fare for entry (amount varies based on distance), giving it a unique feel. *The origin of Gin no Suzu at Tokyo Station is that bells were traditionally used in shrines to call and attract attention to the gods. Tokyo Station employees came up with the idea to create a bell-shaped symbol for meeting spots, which was placed in front of the Shinkansen transfer gates. In reality, many people gather around the bell as a meeting point, making it a useful landmark inside the station. It seems that only Koroan makes bell-shaped sweets, showcasing their good taste. (2023.05.30.) [Store Introduction] *About Koroan's sweets. Koroan creates traditional Japanese sweets using healthy ingredients such as black sugar, fruits, honey, and nuts, ensuring that customers can enjoy them with peace of mind. While preserving the traditional taste of Japanese sweets, we continue to create innovative Japanese sweets infused with the essence of Yokohama Motomachi.

There is a shop specializing in takeout. It is recommended as a souvenir. I heard that they have dorayaki with beef skin in it, so I decided to buy some when I happened to pass by the shop. I bought 3 for 780 yen. You can choose between dorayaki with thin skin or regular dorayaki with beef skin. This time I chose the regular one. You can purchase just one if you want. The chewy texture is a nice accent. As a fan of beef skin, I couldn't miss this product! However, I think one serving is enough. The limited-time matcha flavor was delicious. It only lasts for about 2 days, so be careful. On that day, there was a long line at the souvenir shop that was featured on ZIP, as well as at the chocolate burger shop and the cafe "In Love with Coffee." Tokyo Station is also seeing an increase in tourists, and it feels like a complete revival.

"Kouroan" is a traditional Japanese confectionery shop mainly located in Yokohama, and they have a store in Gransta Tokyo. Review: [Black Sugar Dorayaki] 195 yen ☆4.0. I decided to try my favorite dorayaki. As indicated by the name, the inside is black in color and slightly sweet. The sweetness is just right and I really like it. It has a modern taste despite being sweet, which I haven't really experienced before. I wish I had bought the other variety as well!"

Located in a not very noticeable location on the first basement floor of Gransta, I struggled to find it. I purchased the "Suzumonaka" and Mont Blanc pastries. While they have high ratings on Tabelog, I don't eat sweets much, so I would give them a rating of 3.0. I would be happy if the young ladies who try them out enjoy them.

At Ueno Station, there are lots of pandas, but I also found pandas at Tokyo Station! At Motomachi Kouroan in Gransta, they have a "Panda Dorayaki" for 195 yen (including 8% tax). The dorayaki has two pandas sitting on it. Is this the twin pandas from Ueno? The dorayaki is fluffy and delicious.

This is a souvenir from Tokyo, a black sugar dorayaki from "Motomachi Kouroan". Although the store is located in Motomachi, Yokohama, I bought it at Tokyo Station, so it is definitely a Tokyo souvenir. The black sugar dorayaki was delicious, with a refined sweetness from the black sugar kneaded into the skin. The lightly sweet Hokkaido red bean paste also paired well with the skin. It's a high-quality Tokyo souvenir that could easily become a classic.

I received this as a souvenir. The dorayaki skin is chewy and delicious. The skin is not dry, but moist just right. The red bean paste matches well with the dough and tastes delicious. The black sugar dorayaki had a strong black sugar flavor. The Mont Blanc was delicious with the chestnut being sweet just right. Thank you for the meal.

This is a traditional Japanese sweets shop located in Yokohama Motomachi. I ordered the Mont Blanc dorayaki for 250 yen. Since I went at night, the most popular black sugar dorayaki was sold out. The dorayaki had chestnut filling with pieces of chestnut inside, and it was delicious.

Fluffy and soft black sugar dorayaki from a traditional Japanese sweets shop in Yokohama. Visited to buy their famous black sugar dorayaki and got a limited edition dorayaki with a panda design. The dorayaki was slightly smaller than usual, but as soon as I held it, it was so fluffy! The sweet red bean paste filling was not too sweet, and the aroma of black sugar was delightful. Delicious. Whenever I eat dorayaki, I always think of Doraemon. Eating a delicious dorayaki and remembering the happy face of Doraemon while eating dorayaki just warms my heart. Thank you for the meal.

I used this shop located inside the Gransta underground shopping area within Tokyo Station. The shop has high ratings on Tabelog, but in reality, it is quite small. It was a bit difficult to find the shop as it is tucked away in a corner. The selection of products was also limited. I purchased their two signature items, the "Suzumonaka" and the black sugar dorayaki. The Suzumonaka seems to have a longer shelf life, so they had a decent amount in stock, but the black sugar dorayaki often sells out. Both items were overly sweet. The Suzumonaka had a strong sweetness from the red bean paste and the mochi-like texture, making it quite cloying. The black sugar dorayaki was also very sweet, with a dense filling of black sugar and a sweet outer layer, resulting in an intense overall sweetness. The size of the products may have been intentionally kept small to balance out the sweetness, but even then, it might be too sweet for those who are not big fans of sweet treats.

I received this as a souvenir. A dorayaki with a rich taste and aroma of black sugar. When you open the package, a fragrant scent of crispy skin spreads. The red bean paste is moist and plentiful, and delicious. The size is small and perfect for a snack. Thank you for the meal!

I bought a set of dorayaki at the Ginza store of Motomachi Kouroan during my business trip to Tokyo. The dorayaki was made with brown sugar and it was delicious without being too sweet. The texture was moist and enjoyable. I would love to visit again if I have the chance. Thank you for the meal.

This is a silver bell-shaped monaka inspired by Gin no Suzu at Tokyo Station. Inside, there is sweet red bean paste. It is small in size and light, making it easy to eat. Although there are colorful monaka available, the silver color is perfect for the image. It was delicious and enjoyable.

Kuri-an is a cute-sized chestnut wagashi with a pleasing appearance. It is topped with poppy seeds and can be eaten in one bite, yet satisfying when eaten whole. The chestnut paste is sticky, allowing the deliciousness of the chestnut to be fully enjoyed. The sweetness of the white bean paste can also be tasted, and when chilled, it has a refreshing and slightly crunchy chestnut-like texture. The two layers have a firmer texture on the top compared to the bottom. It's not something I strongly feel like repeating, but it's a sweet treat that catches my attention and satisfies my craving for chestnut sweets.

Kourouan / Tokyo Suzumonaka (Mont Blanc) This is a combination of Japanese and Western confectionery, with a Mont Blanc-style filling made from chestnuts and rum, topped with coffee powder, and wrapped in mochi. The mochi is stable and not too crispy... I remember toasting it last time, but this time I ate it as is because I didn't want the filling to be warm. The fragrant toastiness is good, but I still don't like the lack of crispiness... maybe it helps the filling inside stand out more? I was surprised to find out it had coffee powder in it after taking a bite! The slight bitterness of the coffee stands out a lot, giving it a taste similar to the coffee powder on tiramisu. It's not too bitter, and the balance is good, which goes well with the Western-style filling. The Mont Blanc-style filling reminds me of a rich chestnut paste. The sticky texture of the filling and the chestnut flavor are strong, just like a Mont Blanc. The mochi has a pleasant elasticity without being too hard.

Kouran An / Tokyo Suzumonaka ☑︎ 117kcal per bag of 2 pieces. The appearance was a bit limp, so I toasted it before eating. Inside, there is sakura bean paste and mochi. The mochi, after toasting, became crispy and not too soft. The sakura bean paste has sakura leaves in it, giving it a subtle sakura flavor without any saltiness. The mochi is a bit chewy and firm, making it slightly hard to bite into, but after toasting, it becomes slightly warm.

Now, onto the third stop - "Motomachi Kouran" in Yokohama. The main store is located in Motomachi, and there are some impressive shops in Gransta as well. The "Sakura mochi dorayaki" costs 249 yen each. The "Black sugar dorayaki" comes in a pack of 3 for 600 yen. The "Tokyo Suzumonaka" is 270 yen for a pack of 2. The "Tokyo Suzumonaka (Sakura mochi)" is 300 yen for a pack of 2. The total comes to 1,419 yen (tax included). Both dorayaki have a mild sweetness and are delicious. The mochi part of the Suzumonaka is fragrant, and the combination of red bean paste and mochi is excellent. On the other hand, the dorayaki has a slightly sweet skin, and the mochi inside is a bit firm. I wish the prices were a bit more affordable so I could buy them more often...

Located in the underground first floor of Tokyo Station in Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo, near the Yaesu Central Exit, this shop is in the sweets area. The shop has a simple and tidy atmosphere, with traditional Japanese sweets displayed in the showcase. Their black sugar dorayaki is small in size, generously filled with red bean paste, and baked using black sugar from Okinawa. The soft and fluffy texture of the dough, combined with the rich sweetness of the black sugar, creates a delightful taste. The red bean paste, made from beans from Hokkaido, has a firm texture and a gentle sweetness that enhances the overall flavor. The dorayaki has a perfect balance between the dough and the filling, offering a fine and moist texture. This dorayaki has been the most popular item since the shop was founded, maintaining tradition while adapting to modern tastes. Additionally, the shop offers Tokyo Suzu and Monaka, exclusive to the Gransta store, appealing to a wide range of customers.

After enjoying TDR, I was also worried about the path of Typhoon No. 15, so I arrived at Tokyo Station early. I wanted to buy souvenirs for Jisama and Basama at "Gransta" that I was curious about! I visited around 3:00 p.m. on Sunday. I was interested in the chestnut yokan, but I bought roasted chestnuts for 350 yen. They were happy with the cute chestnuts (^ ^ ♪
