Croquettes and minced cutlets are cheap and delicious! The crust is crispy, and the filling is juicy!

I visited this butcher shop located a short walk from the south exit of Komaba-Todaimae Station. The shop has a wide storefront and a clear view of the refrigerated cases. They have a takeout corner where I ordered the "meatballs". They may be cold, but the juices are seeping out and they are delicious.

Probably almost exactly 25 years since my last visit. The shop seemed to be already a part of the town back then. When I asked the shop staff, they said it has been in business for over 60 years. The shopping district in this area was organized around 1954, so this shop is one of the oldest in the neighborhood. The scenery in this area has changed a lot, but from what I remember, the only shops that have remained unchanged for the past 25 years are this shop, Kitchen Nankai, and Takoyaki Mishima. Among them, I have used this shop the most and purchased a bento box.
- Visit Date: August 27, 2016, around 3 pm.
- History: The exact business history is unknown, but it has been operating for over 60 years in the Komaba shopping district. The oldest shop in the area.
- Location: The nearest station is Komaba Todaimae. Go down the stairs on the south side of the east exit, head east along the Inokashira Line tracks, turn right at the first level crossing, go down the stairs, turn right, and the shop is about 20 meters ahead on the left side.
- Shop Details: Probably run by family members, with 4 staff members. The left side of the shop is the bento box sales area. The bento boxes contain fried foods cooked in the shop. The prices range from 300 to 500 yen, which is almost the same as 25 years ago.
- Purchased Items: Fried fish bento box for 380 yen + minced cutlet for 110 yen = total 490 yen.
- Taste: The fried fish is thick and flavorful, goes well with the rice and sauce. The minced cutlet is juicy and satisfying.
Overall, it was a nostalgic experience to enjoy the affordable and delicious bento box from this shop that has remained unchanged for decades. The cooking and ingredients may not be special, but the fact that a small shop has been providing bento boxes for almost the same price for many years is commendable. It was a satisfying meal that brought back memories.

In the shopping street area near Komaba Todaimae, there is a butcher shop and croquette shop. Despite initially passing by without much notice, the back view of the shop caught my attention due to their good vision. They offer a unique product called "Yakisoba Croquette" for 90 yen. It's a small croquette with yakisoba noodles inside, wrapped in potato and fried. The taste is similar to yakisoba, making it a versatile option for bento boxes. The regular potato croquette is also available for 90 yen, with a simple and rustic appearance.

I thought there was a long line at the shopping street in Komaba, but it turned out to be people buying bento boxes from the butcher shop. The bento boxes are cheap...! I bought menchi katsu, curry croquette, and hashed potatoes. Unlike supermarket side dishes, the breading is crispy and has a deep-fried texture.

At this butcher shop near Komaba-Todaimae Station, they also sell side dishes in a corner. They are perfect for a snack while walking around. The bento boxes also look delicious. The croquettes and minced cutlets from this butcher shop are 100 times better than the ones you buy at the supermarket. The coating is crispy and the oil is different. I bet they would be even more delicious if eaten right after frying, but they were already great! Thank you for the meal.

I like it. The hamburger had a texture and flavor similar to chilled food, which was subtle, but the other dishes I tried (tonkatsu curry, ginger pork, fried chicken) were delicious. I want to try various menu items.
