I visited around 13:30 on a cloudy Sunday, the last day of the long weekend. There were about 2 groups of customers already there. I was surprised to find that the cakes were cheaper than I expected. I bought the following 4 items: - Chocolate Chocolate Cake 500 yen - Fresh Chocolate Cake 500 yen - Matcha Roll 480 yen - Cheese Tart 370 yen They were all delicious, but the Matcha Roll was particularly enjoyable with a great texture. It seems like a good choice even if you just buy one. I will definitely visit again.

A cake shop quietly standing in a residential street. The showcase is lined with about 20 different cakes. Customers were constantly visiting. This time, I bought the following 4 types: Mille-feuille, Milk crepe, Strawberry tart, and Shortcake.

There is a patisserie in Bunkyo Ward. It may not be very well-known, but it always looks busy and stylish when passing by. I tried going before but the showcase was almost empty, so I gave up... This time I tried again! It was just before noon so the store wasn't crowded, and there were plenty of cakes available. They had a variety of cakes from basic strawberry shortcakes to more unique ones, making it hard to choose! I picked the following: *Chestnut Mont Blanc ¥600 *Cassis Marron ¥550 *Basque-style cheesecake ¥350 *Tandoresu ¥500 The prices were relatively reasonable for a modern patisserie. I tried the Mont Blanc and Cassis Marron. The Mont Blanc had a rich chestnut flavor and the base was not too hard, making it easy to eat. The Cassis Marron had a unique combination of chestnut and blackcurrant, which blended well together. This place was quite to my liking among recent patisseries I've tried. I would like to visit again and try other cakes when I have the chance.

I purchased a Christmas cake (chocolate cream) in the past and was impressed by how delicious it was. The cream had a strong chocolate flavor and was not too heavy. I thought I wouldn't be able to finish it, so I bought a small one, but I could have gotten a larger one!

Visit: A Western confectionery shop located in a residential area between Myogadani and Shin-Otsuka at 14:00 on a holiday. They offer a wide range of sweets, from fresh to baked, all with a delicious taste that is not too fancy. The prices are very reasonable considering the quality and quantity. Personally, I loved the souffles, as it's rare to find a place that serves delicious souffles. Recommended items include Cheese Souffle, Chocolate Souffle, Fresh Chiffon Cake, Crispy Choux, Sticky Choux, and Traditional Mont Blanc.

Classic roll cakes and shortcakes are delicious, but new menu items are often the result of research and effort, offering quite impressive options. Instead of the usual chestnut Mont Blanc, chocolate, or strawberry shortcake, this time I chose a different route. The cakes I chose were Peach Ball Cake, Basque Cheesecake, and Mango Roll. The Peach Ball Cake has a visually striking appearance that would surprise anyone if given as a gift. It maintains the shape of a peach and has a juicy, fresh sweetness that is satisfying to eat. The top and center seed parts are adorned with whipped cream, while the bottom is supported by buttery cookies. For those who find peeling peaches or cleaning up afterwards a hassle, this cake allows you to directly experience the peach without any trouble, making it a recommended choice. The Basque Cheesecake was dense and sticky, providing a substantial eating experience despite its small size. It was reasonably priced and a good value for its size. Lastly, the Mango Roll brought back memories of when I had it once before and thought, "Delicious!" The ripe mango is incorporated into the cream on the top and in the center of the roll. It is a harmonious blend of mango flesh, cream, and sponge cake, creating a perfect balance. I hope they continue to create a variety of new items in the future.

The shop is about a 15-minute walk from Otsuka Station. While I was in the shop, it was bustling with local elderly ladies. There were many types of cakes! Just in the chocolate category, there were Opera, Chocolat Chocolat, Chocolate Mousse Cake, Adult Rum Raisin Chocolate, Chocolate Chiffon, Gianduja, and many more. I chose the most popular Japanese chestnut Mont Blanc and the Adult Rum Raisin Chocolate. The Japanese chestnut Mont Blanc is covered with chestnut paste and filled with custard cream, whipped cream, sponge cake, and a large chestnut! It has a rich flavor. The Adult Rum Raisin Chocolate is a cake with layers of chocolate sponge cake and chocolate cream, topped with rum raisins. Both cakes were delicious! Thank you for the meal.

Located near the intersection of Sengoku 3-chome, in the middle of Otsuka and Myogadani, is a pastry shop that offers a variety of pastries inspired by the Bunkyo district, such as Bunkyo Roll and Sablé. I visited on a Sunday around 1 pm, and the display case had around 25 different pastries. I purchased the following items: - "Gianduja (¥500)" 3.0 ★★★ - "Japanese Chestnut Mont Blanc (¥550)" 3.5 ★★★☆ - "Ultimate Souffle Cheesecake (¥120)" 3.0 ★★★ The "Gianduja" is a cake made of hazelnut mousse and pistachio sponge. The mousse was smooth, and the nutty base added a crunchy texture and flavor. It was lighter and easier to eat than it appeared. The "Japanese Chestnut Mont Blanc" is a seasonal cake made with chestnuts from Kumamoto. The chestnut paste was in a sheet form rather than strings, making it easy to eat without falling apart. It also contained custard in addition to whipped cream, adding richness. The delicious chestnut flavor didn't disappoint. The "Ultimate Souffle Cheesecake" is a bite-sized cheesecake about the size of a 500 yen coin. It had a fluffy and moist texture with a creamy cheese base that was light and easy to eat. The flavor was subtle, and it was gone in no time. All the pastries were well-made and not overly sweet, making them easy to enjoy. I heard they put a lot of effort into their products, so I look forward to trying their baked goods as well.

Rooted in Otsuka for about 15 years, this shop has been serving carefully crafted cakes since its opening, with the roll cake undergoing multiple changes to reach its current form. The owner, along with his wife and staff, are always eager to try new things and have developed products under the name of Bunkyo. My personal favorites are the Gianduja and Sedum Chocolat. However, this time I was in the mood for Mont Blanc, so I had them bring me a mini-sized chestnut Mont Blanc. The chestnut Mont Blanc (550 yen) has also undergone several changes over the years, with the outer layer made of Kumamoto chestnuts, filled with custard and cream inside. The base is a firm sponge with a whole chestnut in the center, making it a delightful treat to savor the flavor of chestnuts. The adult Rum Raisin Chocolate (480 yen) is a winter limited edition item, perfect for those who love Lotte's Rummy Chocolate. As expected, it has a delicious adult flavor. The Strawberry Cake (480 yen) was not tasted by me, but according to my 8-year-old monster, it was delicious with tasty strawberries and cream, making it their favorite cake. The cakes are delicious, but the baked donuts are also outstanding. Priced around 200 yen, they make a perfect souvenir recommendation.

I finally bought a cake that I had been curious about, like a chestnut bento box. In addition, I bought one of my favorites that was a little cheaper. It was a chestnut-themed cake for 1000 yen. It seemed to have less volume for the price, or maybe that's just how it is. I usually eat chilled desserts in this shape from supermarkets, but this one was really delicious. It was truly a cake shop quality. The chestnut cream was delicate, with a taste reminiscent of Japanese chestnuts. Underneath that was whipped cream, and a delicious sponge cake. The chestnut paste cut in half was also delicious. The choux pastry was crispy, but since the cream is filled after ordering, you can experience the crispy texture of the pastry if you eat it right away. Personally, I prefer to chill it in the fridge at home until the dough has absorbed some moisture. The pastry remains crispy, but when it's not well integrated with the cream, it doesn't quite feel like a choux cream puff. I wonder how the chef intended it to be eaten. Mr. Hiyama's shop always seems to be popular, with customers coming in regularly.

On the way back from shopping, I stopped by a cake shop that I had been curious about. I had the strawberry mille-feuille and it was delicious. The fruit they use (strawberries) is really good. It's fresh and has a great taste. The cream is quite sweet, but I think it's fine for a cake.

I went to a Western confectionery shop in Otsuka! They have a variety of cakes with simple yet never boring flavors that make you want to eat them over and over again. It seems to be a family-run business, with a very cozy atmosphere. The location is a street shop closest to Shin-Otsuka Station. Due to infection control measures, there is a limit on the number of people allowed inside the shop. I had to wait a bit before entering. They also have baked sweets and gift sets, perfect for gifts. The exterior has the shop name painted on the wall, and they seem to focus on social media, with seasonal messages on the signboard, creating a friendly and inviting atmosphere that makes you want to visit at different times of the year. This time, I took out a chocolate cake, a cheese tart, and a strawberry roll! They were all in easy-to-eat sizes and delicious without being too sweet! I was curious about the pudding, but couldn't buy it that day, so I want to try it next time. The chocolate cake had layers of chocolate that melted in your mouth, very delicious. The cheese tart was small but satisfying to eat. The strawberry roll is a flavor that both young and old enjoy. The lineup of cakes may vary depending on when you visit, so it may also be a matter of luck. I want to go again!

I went to buy Karikari Shu, and I bought Shu Cream, Corone, and fresh Busse. The clerk said there was stretchy cheese and chocolate inside, but there was no chocolate. The cheese was like Gyuuhino, but I wonder if it was cheese. It would have been better if there was a little more fresh cream. The price was ¥280. Lately, I've been addicted to Hiyama's Shu Cream, so I'll go buy it again.

The Mont Blanc was a bit messy but had a strong chestnut flavor. The bottom was sponge. The tiramisu had a light flavor. It was delicious, but not the best in my opinion. The shop's simple custard cream and dough are what I find delicious. I particularly liked the crispy choux and cornet, especially the crispy choux which is one of my personal favorites. The prices are also affordable and I hope they continue to keep them that way.

Kii-chan's snacks include Tart Tatin, Chocolate Cake, Fruit Tart, and two puddings. I stopped by after seeing the cherry blossom trees on Hama-zaka. Kii-chan's snack roll cake has a unique name and the sponge is soft and delicious. The pudding cups have Snoopy patterns, which children seemed to enjoy choosing.

- The chestnut Mont Blanc with chestnut cream is exquisite! The chestnut pieces inside are firm and crunchy, satisfyingly not too soft. - The chocolate and raspberry combination is a winner, with the perfect balance of sweet and sour flavors. - The caramelized mochi choux is delightfully crispy. - The crispy chocolate horn with a crunchy outer layer and creamy custard filling appears often, with a success rate of 3 out of 4.

The title is Otsuka, but it is a cake shop located in a residential area far from any station. I visited on a weekend morning and it was always busy with customers. Their Mochi Choux is priced at 220 yen and is a cream puff with a mochi on top of the pastry, giving it a chewy texture. The cream inside is custard cream. The Cheese Tart is priced at 370 yen, with lemon-infused cheese cream baked inside a tart. Hmm, considering the prices, I'm not sure about the quality. Both cakes were not too sweet, but the flavors were a bit vague. The tart crust of the Cheese Tart was a bit disappointing, and if this is used for other cakes as well, I honestly wouldn't want to try them. It feels like a typical cake shop in the neighborhood. Personally, I felt more satisfied with cheap cakes from convenience stores. It's good that they accept card payments.

Chocolate Cream Cake - ¥2700 The chocolate cream is delicious! However, the sponge and cream alone in the cake can get a bit boring. It would be nice if there were nuts or fruits added. Sweet Sandwich - ¥480 This sandwich is big with a thick layer. It's difficult to eat even with a big mouth. It would be great if there was strawberry jam in the sandwich.

I had a delicious cake. The Shine Muscat cake was full of fruity flavors, allowing me to enjoy the luxurious taste of Muscat. The chocolate cake was very sweet, with just the right amount of bitterness, and I was satisfied. It was a shame that the strawberry tart was sold out.
