ミッポT
Located between Kasai and Ichinoe, on the outskirts of Kasai to the north, this Chinese restaurant is situated next to the beloved bakery Pan de Prube. The interior of the restaurant has a counter with six seats and two tables for four people each. It seems like it used to be a sushi restaurant because the sushi case is still there on the counter. The restaurant is run by a Chinese couple, and the mama-san is very kind and welcoming. The menu mainly features dumplings, which are also the signature dish of the restaurant. Other items on the menu include century egg, tofu, pig's feet, pig ears, pig cartilage, char siu, spare ribs, with a limited variety. This time, I ordered the char siu fried rice (490 yen) and black pork dumplings (490 yen). Later, I saw that there was a set menu with dumplings for the fried rice, which would have been a better deal. The fried rice had char siu, egg, and green onions as ingredients. It was quite fluffy and had a good texture, with the flavor of the char siu coating each grain of rice. The fried rice came with soup, and they offer unlimited refills of the soup. The dumplings, which came in a set of five, had an extra one as a bonus. They were meat dumplings with plenty of minced pork, with fewer vegetables and a strong flavor of Chinese five-spice. It felt like eating a siu mai. Additionally, we received a complimentary dish of pig cartilage. The thick bones were surprisingly tender, almost like collagen. The soft cartilage in a nearly gelatinous state was delicious. It was a delightful experience thanks to the kindness and service of the mama-san.
