Opened in 2004 near the Western-style restaurant Yoshikami, the pastry shop "Miruku no Ki" features pastries that do not use artificial flavors or vanilla, but instead highlight the natural scents of ingredients such as wheat, butter, and fruits. They offer cakes, cream puffs, cheesecakes, and baked goods, filling the air with the sweet aroma of pastries when you enter the shop. ☑︎ Cinnamon Cream Puff (¥280) + Homemade Ice Cream Sandwich (¥330) The highlight of the day was the Cinnamon Cream Puff, featured on the TV show "Tokyo Eye" as a hidden gem in Asakusa. Unlike other cream puffs, this one is filled with custard cream right after you order, allowing you to enjoy it fresh. The cream puff pastry is generously coated with cinnamon sugar and baked, paired with rich homemade custard cream and square-cut ice cream, making it a perfect treat for the summer. It was truly delicious.

This is a long-established Western confectionery shop located near Rokku Street in Asakusa. The shop owner, who trained at a high-end Western confectionery shop in Kyoto, opened this shop in 2004. - Milky Tree (200 yen): A confectionery named after the shop, which is a cross between financiers and madeleines. It is an adaptation of the famous European confectionery "Frillan". It has a unique taste with a gentle milk flavor that spreads in your mouth afterwards. It can be stored at room temperature for up to 20 days. - Honey Apple Pie (220 yen): A popular apple pie featured in the media. It is characterized by 576 layers of woven pie crust. The densely packed firm texture is crispy, and although small, it is a satisfying apple pie. It can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 6 days. The shop's commitment to creating Western confectioneries without using artificial flavors, preservatives, or even vanilla, and focusing on quality ingredients is commendable. Thank you for the delicious meal.

In the morning, I saw a TV show featuring cream puffs, so I decided to go try them out. It was a small shop and there was a line. They had a system where one person would go in and another person would come out. The TV show featured cream puff ice cream, but I ended up buying cream puffs, apple pie, and duck waffles. It cost me 850 yen for all of them, but when I opened the box at home, I was surprised by how small they were. I didn't see them fill the cream puffs with cream on the spot. Both the cream puff pastry and custard cream were delicious. The apple pie was a small baked pie that was almost square in shape. The duck waffles were also bite-sized. I might consider going back for the cream puffs, but I would need to eat two to feel satisfied.

For my birthday celebration lunch, we went to a yakiniku restaurant where we had lunch first and then they surprised us with a whole cake (extra charge, haha). I was already full from the lunch, so I took half of the cake home. The cake had strawberries with jelly-like syrup on top, a light sponge inside, not too heavy on the cream, just the right amount of sweetness, and a light texture that made it very easy to eat. It had a nostalgic taste but was really delicious. I want to try other cakes from there too. The cake had two layers of cream, with sliced strawberries sandwiched in one layer. The fact that they prepared this whole cake as a surprise shows the connection between local shops in Asakusa. I would like to visit the restaurant again. Thank you for the meal.

A craftsman man makes the pastries, and a kind lady serves at the counter. It's a small shop, but feel free to come in. The popular items are the cinnamon choux and honey apple pie. The cream in the cinnamon choux is incredibly delicious, with a soft and crispy pastry. Even those with dental concerns can enjoy it. They inject the cream after you order, so it's fresh choux cream. It costs 260 yen. The honey apple pie is smaller than usual apple pies, but it lasts longer. I tried it baked, chilled, and at room temperature, and room temperature was the best. The pie crust has 576 layers, which is amazing. It costs 220 yen. This is not a mass-produced bakery with many part-time workers, but a bakery where a single craftsman puts effort into the ingredients and recipes. I want to try a different Western pastry next time, along with the cinnamon choux.

On a Sunday in December 2022 at 4:00 pm, I finally had the opportunity to purchase the "Honey Apple Pie" that I had been curious about for a while! The menu on the outdoor sign is as follows (all prices include tax): **************************** ・Honey Apple Pie 220 yen A pie with 576 layers of folded dough, as featured on TV shows like Ad-machi Heaven and Chi's Walk. Today, the crust is crispy until night at room temperature. ・Milk Tree 200 yen A cross between financiers and madeleines, with a gentle milk flavor that comes through later. No artificial flavors or preservatives used. (Keeps at room temperature for 20 days) ・Tokyo Cookie Moment 300 yen "Made using only natural ingredients." Made deliciously without any extra ingredients. (Keeps at room temperature for 60 days) ・Cinnamon Choux 260 yen Cinnamon sugar sprinkled on choux pastry and baked. Custard cream is filled after receiving your order. ・Strawberry Choux 400 yen Choux pastry baked with milk dough. Filled with whipped cream, custard cream, strawberry mousse, and strawberry sauce. ・Coffee Choux 400 yen Mild milk coffee flavor. Coffee dough attached to choux pastry and baked. Milk coffee flavor with homemade condensed milk. ・Shortcake 500 yen Soft and crumbly dough for a delightful mouthfeel! No artificial flavors. ・Frambo 400 yen Sweet and sour flavor of wood strawberries. Made with French chocolate! A cake with 8 layers of raspberry cream, ganache, and whipped cream. Not a mousse. ・Cheesecake 400 yen A cheesecake made with two types of dough. Rolled with rare cheesecake mousse in baked cheesecake dough. Carefully made to ensure the taste does not become overwhelming. No artificial flavors. ・Baked Cheese Cake 300 yen Rich milk flavor. Contains half of the daily recommended intake of amino collagen in the popular baked cheesecake. ・Choux Cream Set (6 pieces) 2,150 yen Cheese choux, strawberry choux, custard choux, cinnamon choux, coffee choux, pie choux ・Custard Choux 240 yen Soft choux pastry filled with plenty of custard cream. A classic choux cream. ・Walnut Dacquoise with Rice Flour 300 yen Walnut dacquoise pastry made with rice flour and filled with coffee cream. A lingering taste of 100% Okinawan brown sugar. No artificial flavors. ・Cheese Choux 400 yen Choux pastry filled with soufflé cheese dough and baked. Filled with a mellow milk cheese flavor. ・Chocolate Cake with Fresh Chocolate 520 yen Soft cocoa dough with fresh French chocolate "melts-in-your-mouth chocolate cream." No artificial flavors. **************************** This time, I was assisted by a female staff member. Compared to my visit three years ago, there was an overall increase in prices by a few tens of yen, but only the signature items, Honey Apple Pie 220 yen and Milk Tree 200 yen, were not raised, and I could feel the owner's sincerity. 【Tasting】 ● Honey Apple Pie 220 yen (tax included) Ingredients: Wheat flour, butter, apples, sugar, honey, lemon, cornstarch, eggs, salt Shelf life: 7 days refrigerated (can be stored at room temperature on the day of purchase) When I opened the bag, a nice buttery scent wafted out. The pie, about the size of my palm, weighed 42g. I lightly reheated it before eating. The surface was crispy, but the inside dough was soft, giving a gentle mouthfeel for a pie. The apple filling was cooked just right, with a mildly sweet taste that would delight children. As someone who prefers less sweet treats, I found it a bit too sweet, but the balance with the dough was good. The nostalgic sweets made with simple and body-friendly ingredients always warm my heart and soothe my soul. Next time, I wonder what I should buy♪

I was lured in by the sign outside the shop and decided to stop by. Even though it was before 7 pm, there were cakes available in the small shop with a wide showcase. I bought the apple pie featured on a TV show as a souvenir, and also got a cinnamon cream puff with ice cream in it, which I ate right away. The cinnamon-flavored choux pastry balanced out the sweetness, making it easy to eat with the cream and ice cream.

A small, handmade cake shop run by a woman. The Paris-Shu costs 380 yen and has a generous amount of nut cream in a puff pastry shell. However, the cream portion may be less than expected. The 200 yen cream puff is on the smaller side.

There are many delicious snacks for food walking in Asakusa, and I was curious about this local one that many people often buy in bulk. I purchased a no-additive apple pie for 220 yen for takeout. I quickly returned home and tried it. It has a gentle sweetness as I imagined, very delicious. The plastic bag is a bit small, so I might spill some crumbs. It was delicious, thank you for the meal.

I had been curious about Milk no Ki for a while. Since there were no customers at the time, I decided to stop by for some shopping. I bought a Milk no Ki and a Custard Cream puff. The Apple Pie also looked delicious, but... The Milk no Ki had a slightly crumbly texture like a financier. It was not too sweet and tasty, but... I felt like it was a bit lacking for the price. The Custard Cream puff was small but had a strong flavor. The sweet and milky cream was just to my liking. Because of its small size, the cream stood out more than the choux pastry. This was delicious. It's rare to find a local pastry shop open late, so it's quite special. If I go back next time, I'll try the Apple Pie.

I happened to pass by around 8:00 pm on a regular day and decided to stop by. - Cheesecake ¥380: Rich and creamy cheesecake, definitely a homemade masterpiece, delicious. - Milk Tree ¥200 - Honey Apple Pie ¥220: The balance of pie crust and apple filling is a bit off, maybe too much pie crust.

I visited around 1 pm on a weekday. A very kind couple welcomed me. I tried the Honey Apple Pie with Cinnamon Choux Cream. The Honey Apple Pie was incredibly crispy with lots of apples, making me feel very happy. It was extremely delicious. The Cinnamon Choux Cream was filled with cream after ordering, so the crispy cinnamon choux was filled with plenty of custard cream inside. I love cinnamon and custard cream, so it was a perfect taste for me. There were many other delicious sweets, so I would like to visit again.

Today, I went to the Asakusa area. I don't usually go to cake shops at night because they tend to sell out quickly. It's sad when you can't choose. But occasionally, there are shops where you can find plenty of products even at night. This shop, "Miruku no Ki," was one of them, so I decided to visit before 8:00 PM. It's located near "Marugoto Nippon" and has a yellow facade that stands out. There are various posters and displays plastered all over the place, giving it a retro Showa era vibe. It's quite a mysterious shop in many ways. When you enter the shop, you'll see a showcase filled with individually wrapped sweets. There are hardly any fresh sweets, mainly cream puffs and half-baked sweets in bags. It's quite rare to see a shop where almost everything is individually wrapped. There is no seating for dining in, so I moved to another location to take photos and enjoy the treats. Here are the items I tried: - Miruku no Ki: A baked sweet named after the shop. It's an adaptation of a European pastry called "Frian." It has a texture that's a mix between financiers and madeleines, moist and strongly scented with almonds. - Hachimitsu Ringo Pieado: A pie pastry featured in a magazine. It consists of 5-6 layers of pie crust filled with apples, blueberries, and honey. The pie crust is soft, and the apples have a compote-like flavor similar to apple pie. - Frambo: A white dough made with French chocolate, filled with chocolate bars and cream with strawberries. It's sandwiched with a soft chocolate cream. The sweet and sour taste of the strawberries enhances the impact of the chocolate. - Cinnamon Choux: You can order this and they'll fill it with cream for you. The dough is crispy and light, not too crunchy. The cream is refreshing, but not overly sweet. It's delicious, but could use more cinnamon flavor. It has a local vibe with its Western-style sweets, but there's a sign in the shop saying that the chef has trained in Jakarta. Jakarta!? I wonder what the connection is... Thank you for the meal!

I hit it when I searched for a cake to buy on my way to Asakusa. I walked a lot today and I'm exhausted, so I didn't feel like going on an expedition, so I decided to go here near Senso-ji Temple. The place is just a short walk from Senso-ji Temple towards the station and crossing the five-way intersection. It's a very small shop, so I didn't even notice it when I passed by. The inside of the shop is extremely narrow, only enough for two people or one person at a time. There are a lot of signs, so I couldn't read them all. If you see a shop with lots of papers, it's this shop. Depending on the time, there are only a few types of fresh cakes, like cream puffs and cheesecakes, no shortcakes, and the lineup seems lacking for home use. I was disappointed. The staff at the shop is relatively good at explaining the cakes and the service is relatively polite. The Framboise (380 yen tax included) has layers of Genoise, raspberry cream, fresh chocolate, and fresh cream. The firm Genoise, slightly firm creams, and the hardness of the chocolate balance well, forming a seamless texture. The raspberry flavor stands out, but maybe due to the small amount of raspberry cream, the acidity is not very strong and does not balance well with the sweetness. Overall, the sweetness is not strong, so it doesn't fall apart. The chocolate aroma is strong, and a good balance of chocolate's assertion is also included. There are no sharp edges or features, and I can't find anything new, but I think it's made by balancing various elements. It feels like it has some experience. The fresh cream puff (210 yen tax included) uses a deliberately soft dough and is filled with custard cream. The dough is very soft and slightly strong, with plenty of custard inside. The choux pastry is slightly fragrant, and the custard is slightly liquid but clean-tasting without any roughness, making it very delicious. There's nothing particularly distinctive, but it's a good basic material that builds up and results in a delicious impression. It's a shop that is not flashy and a little away from the lively streets of Asakusa, but its skills are quite impressive. As always, I thought that you won't know until you actually visit the shop.

Milk no Ki in Asakusa, established in 1965, is a small, traditional cake shop. They prioritize natural flavors without using artificial fragrances. Their Honey Apple Pie is made with carefully selected flour and Hokkaido butter. The dough has an impressive 576 layers, making it incredibly crispy! The apple inside is deliciously gooey. Their Cream Puff is filled with cream upon order. The surface has a crispy caramel aroma, and the cream is very fresh.

I visited Mr. Milk's Tree in Asakusa. This is a small pastry shop that sells Western-style sweets made with a focus on quality ingredients. Upon entering the shop, there is a display case with various simple-looking Western sweets. I purchased the Honey Apple Pie (220 yen), Coffee Choux (360 yen), and Rice Flour Dacquoise (280 yen). The Honey Apple Pie has 576 layers of folded pie dough, giving it a crunchy texture. It is not made with artificial flavors or preservatives, and does not contain cinnamon. The Coffee Choux is a slightly smaller cream puff with a soft choux pastry filled with coffee-flavored cream and homemade condensed milk. Both taste delicious when eaten together. The Rice Flour Dacquoise has a chewy texture with walnuts in the dough and a rich coffee cream filling. It was tasty with a nice balance of flavors. This shop offers small-sized Western sweets made with quality ingredients. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Saturday, May 2019, around 12:30. I visited a Western confectionery store that I had been curious about for a while. Please note that this shop is take-out only, and there is no cafe space available. The sweets at this shop are made with a focus on the deliciousness of the ingredients, avoiding the use of additives as much as possible. The official website states, "We do not purchase or use fragrances. We use only the necessary minimum of ingredients for each confectionery and sell only products that have been improved and approved." This shows a strong commitment and love for the ingredients. (They have a variety of Western confectioneries, so please check the official website for detailed menu information.) The shop itself is small, with an impressive display of Western confectioneries lined up tightly inside. The following menu items seem to be popular: - Cheesecake 360 yen (tax included) - Milk Tree 200 yen (tax included) - Honey Apple Pie 220 yen (tax included) - Tokyo Cookie Moment (5 types of cookies) 250 yen (tax included) - Rice Flour Dacquoise 280 yen (tax included) I purchased a cheesecake because it came with a "signature" plate and it was a type of cheesecake I had never seen before. The owner manager kindly assisted me, and their friendly and attentive service helped ease my initial nervousness. [Tasting 1] - Cheesecake 360 yen (tax included) A rare cheesecake wrapped in baked cheesecake crust. It combines several ingredients such as cheese, lemon, and cream, carefully bringing out the unique characteristics of each. Enjoy the delicate harmony. (Note: Contains a small amount of additives, not completely additive-free) I usually prefer baked cheesecake over rare cheesecake. This cheesecake allowed me to enjoy both in one item, creating an exciting experience. The tangy rare cheesecake mousse wrapped in a rich baked cheese crust provided a unique flavor profile. Despite the mention of a small amount of additives, I personally couldn't detect any difference in taste. It was a delicious cheesecake with a natural and simple flavor. On a later date (Thursday, September 2019), after reading reviews, I decided to try the Cinnamon Choux that had caught my attention. I rushed to the shop right after it opened to make the purchase. [Tasting 2] - Cinnamon Choux 240 yen (tax included) Choux pastry coated with cinnamon sugar and baked. It features a crispy crust! Custard cream is filled at the time of purchase. The cinnamon sugar-coated crust had a subtle cinnamon aroma. The sugar was caramelized, providing a crunchy texture and a delightful taste. The custard cream inside had a gentle yet rich flavor, generously filled and delicious. I wished I could taste a bit more cinnamon, but overall, it was enjoyable. The shop's namesake, "Milk Tree," was offered as a sample inside the store. It had a moist texture similar to a cross between financiers and madeleines, with a strong milky flavor. It was delicious and could last for 20 days at room temperature, making it a great gift option. The shop's official website mentions "My Western confectionery that is not French or German," and I found the flavors to be satisfying. The attentive service and the warm atmosphere made purchasing and enjoying the sweets a delightful experience. Next time, I would like to try the Rice Flour Dacquoise.

After enjoying freshly squeezed orange juice and soft serve ice cream at Marugoto Nippon, I headed over to this place nearby. Just then, the supplier arrived with apples from Kita-Kami, Iwate, which are used as ingredients for processing. At this timing, I couldn't resist choosing the next treat, which was the Honey Apple Pie for 220 yen. The pie crust is folded and folded to create hundreds of layers, but surprisingly, it feels lighter than it looks. With a bite, the apple compote inside is not overly mushy, retaining a nice texture with just the right amount of acidity. The pie crust has a crisp surface and a slight gap between the layers. Overall rating: ☆3.5

When I came to the tapioca tea shop, I couldn't help but enter the milk tree diagonally across because of its chaotic atmosphere. I was surprised by the variety of cream puffs available. I bought coffee cream puff (320 yen), strawberry cream puff (320 yen), and custard cream puff (210 yen). I also bought honey apple pie (220 yen) and cheesecake (340 yen). When I tried them at home, the coffee cream puff had a strong adult taste with a slightly bitter coffee cream, which was delicious. The custard cream puff had a light custard cream. The strawberry cream puff had strawberries on top and a three-layer structure of custard, whipped cream, and strawberry cream, which was delicious. The cheesecake was a bit sweet but tasty with a lemony rare cheese flavor. The best among the ones I bought today was the honey apple pie. The crispy pie crust was really delicious.

I happened to come across this shop by chance while aiming for a shop featured in the Danke magazine's cream puff special, as I happened to be going to Asakusa. I purchased the cinnamon cream puff, custard cream puff, and honey apple pie that were introduced in the magazine. The custard cream was very creamy and a bit difficult to eat while holding it in my hand as the cream drips. However, the milk-like taste was gentle, the cinnamon had a different flavor, and the apple pie was not particularly impressive but had a simple and delicious taste. While modern and refined Western sweets are nice, I also appreciate the simple and gentle flavors of down-to-earth sweets. This shop is perfect for souvenirs for loved ones or for enjoying a little treat at home. The lady at the shop was kind and welcoming, and I would definitely visit again if I have the chance.
