The interior of the shop is small with counter seats. I purchased the men's set meal for 900 yen at the ticket machine. The simmered offal dish was carefully prepared and quite delicious. It wasn't too rich or heavy. The rice portion was close to a large serving, but the amount was satisfying when combined with the simmered dish.

I revisited "Ponoole" without waiting too long, still captivated by the delicious Sundubu stew I had last time. This time, I decided to try the curry flavor. I ordered the "Curry Stew Set (Ladies' Set) @800 yen," which offers the standard miso flavor as well as Sundubu and curry flavors when the master is present at the shop. In addition to set meals, they also have menu items like "Motsu Stew (individual item) @600 yen," "Tanuki Cold Tofu @600 yen," and "Secretly Cut? @1,000 yen" that caught my interest. Please note that there is an additional charge for drink orders. I was expecting a light, Indian curry-style curry, but what arrived was a thick, soba-shop-like curry. It was slightly spicy, with generous portions of pork offal, potatoes, and konjac. Unlike last time, I noticed a strong offal aroma, which might be appealing to offal lovers but was a bit off-putting for me as I'm not a fan of offal. Perhaps handling pork offal is tricky, as the cooking process seemed unchanged. If I have the chance, I'd like to try a curry stew with a spicier, lighter sauce. The coffee served after the meal was a nice touch. Thank you for the meal.

I visited a restaurant called "Pono'ole," which offers a variety of simmered dishes in a set meal style, unlike the seasonal menu at "Nonki" in Horikiri Ayame Park. The restaurant has a cozy cafe-like exterior and a small interior with 8 counter seats. Initially, they only served simmered dishes, but now they also offer alcohol and light snacks. The simmered dishes come in miso, curry, and sundubu flavors, with the option to choose from regular, ladies', or men's sizes. I tried the "Sundubu Simmered Dish (Ladies' Set) @850 yen," which was delicious with a perfect balance of textures and flavors. The meat was tender and flavorful, and the addition of tofu at the bottom was a nice surprise. The location of the restaurant, overlooking the park, added to the overall dining experience. I highly recommend trying their other flavors as well.

I went to a specialty shop that serves only motsu (offal) stew, run by the family of the master of a famous motsu-yaki (grilled offal) restaurant, which I had been curious about for a while. The taste was consistent with the main shop's classic flavor, so it was delicious. It's about a 10-minute walk from the station, so if you're like me and can ride a bicycle, it's fine, but if not, the menu is basically just motsu stew, making it a pilgrimage spot for motsu-yaki enthusiasts. The soup that came with it was a light wakame seaweed soup that didn't interfere with the flavor of the motsu stew, which was good, but it was a bit lukewarm, so I would have preferred it to be piping hot, especially in winter. Unlike the main shop's seasoned atmosphere, this place is a clean and simple cafe-style place with a TV. The name of the shop is not "Nonki" but "Ponoore" on the signboard. It seems that many local residents also use it for takeout. In addition to the classic flavor set meal, there was also a curry flavor and a limited sundubu flavor on this day, so when I asked if I could add a single item with the leftover rice, they said it was possible for ¥550, but both flavors were already sold out for the day. I went a little after 1 pm on this day, but if you're aiming for the limited flavors, it's better to go for lunch at an earlier time. Since I'm a local, I've decided to come back for a rematch someday. It's nice that coffee is served for free during lunch, but in winter, it would be nice if they could also provide hot coffee. The special highball at Nonki is also self-service from the server, and I will visit again.

[Overall Impression] Located about a 7-minute walk from Yotsugi Station in a residential area. This is a diner that serves the famous motsu-ni (tripe stew) from Horikiri Ayame-en's renowned restaurant, Nonki. Unlike other places that serve a similar recipe, they actually serve Nonki's motsu-ni as it is. This is because the diner is actually located in Nonki's husband's childhood home, where his mother runs the shop, making it a genuine experience. I never imagined that I would be able to enjoy Nonki's motsu-ni with rice, so I was truly surprised when it became a reality. [Review] I discovered an interesting restaurant in a residential area near Yotsugi. It's a diner where you can enjoy Nonki's motsu-ni with rice. They specialize in motsu-ni set meals and have received high praise. Although they are not well-known yet, it seems promising. So, I decided to visit during a weekday lunchtime. It's located right in the middle of a residential area, so you wouldn't notice it easily. The exterior looks like a normal two-story house that has been converted into a dining area on the first floor. Without the banners, you wouldn't know it's a diner. The interior is a small L-shaped counter facing the narrow kitchen. The name of the shop, as well as the slightly Hawaiian-inspired decor, gives a unique ambiance. There are two staff members, one of whom is Nonki's husband's mother. Yes, this is actually Nonki's husband's childhood home! When I posted about the restaurant on Instagram, Nonki's husband himself informed me. It's reliable information. The menu consists of only one motsu-ni set meal in three different sizes: Regular, Ladies, and Men's. There are limited side dishes such as curry and raw eggs. Since there wasn't much to think about, I decided to go with the Regular size based on my appetite. I also added a raw egg. Once I placed my order, it was quickly served. The motsu-ni was poured generously over a half block of tofu, and that was it. The seasoning is miso-based, and the motsu used is likely pork intestines or other parts. It's simmered until tender. The motsu is flavorful and pairs perfectly with the rich miso seasoning, making it incredibly delicious with rice! Mixing it with the rice is the best! Besides motsu, there are tofu, konjac, and chopped green onions, so you can enjoy the motsu to your heart's content. I felt so happy. The raw egg could have been added to the motsu-ni, but this time I decided to have it with rice. [Final Thoughts] I was surprised to find out that Nonki's motsu-ni set meal is available at this diner. And as expected, that stew goes really well with rice! This diner focuses solely on motsu-ni set meals and does not serve alcohol, which I think is the right approach. The bill for today's meal came to 810 yen. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I had the simmered tripe set meal. It's a bit on the rich side, but the tripe itself is delicious, so it's not bad. It feels like a casual diner in the neighborhood, which I think is good for those who live around here. One thing to note is that people from the west might find the flavor a bit strong. Just a heads up!

Today's third visit. It's Golden Week, so there are no other customers. The first and second visits were a bit salty, but today it tastes really delicious! No, it's delicious!! The flavor is just right, and the soft motsu can be eaten endlessly without any unpleasant smell. Once you try the motsu stew here, nothing else compares... It's just so delicious! The location keeps the number of customers low, and I want everyone to know about it, but at the same time, I would be sad if it gets too crowded. But I really want more people to know about it!

A specialty restaurant in Yotsugi that serves only simmered tripe set meals. They also serve highballs, but the main focus is on enjoying simmered tripe with rice. I tried the curry simmered tripe for the first time. The curry-flavored simmered tripe with plenty of ingredients, eaten with rice, was amazing. The homemade pickles were also delicious, and the atmosphere of the restaurant was warm and cozy.

I'm not a big fan of motsu, but the motsu stew here is so tender and delicious that it's addictive! However, the soup and pickles that come with it are quite salty, so the dish overall is on the salty side (laughs). I could eat endless bowls of rice with this motsu stew from here.

Pon'ore's motsu-nikomi set meal. Finally made it there, finally got to eat it. This is the third restaurant after "Nonki" at Ayanose Station and Horikiri-Shobuen Station. There's no way it could taste bad. Starting with "Nonki's" motsu-nikomi, after trying Tokyo 5th generation nikomi, do you ever feel like pouring it over rice and eating it? I'm the type who wants to eat more than drink, so this place is a dream come true for me. Despite being over 10 minutes past the last order at 14:30, the elegant mama kindly welcomed us. I can't thank her enough. Just be aware that even with a map app, it's easy to get lost. The restaurant is in a hard-to-find location. Make sure to go with extra time to spare. The Yotsugi area itself is an amazing square.

This is a second brand of the famous motsu-yaki restaurant, Nonki, located in a somewhat hard-to-find location near a large park. They only open for lunch, and their menu consists of only one item - motsu stew set meal. The reviewer had high hopes for the curry they heard about on their previous visit, but unfortunately, it was not available during this visit. The restaurant is small with only counter seating, so it's not suitable for large groups. The reviewer found the motsu stew to be delicious and tender, with a rich flavor. The set meal includes rice, motsu stew, pickles, and soup. Overall, the reviewer was satisfied with the meal, even though the curry they were hoping for was not available.

I decided to try a simmered dish at a restaurant near Yotsugi station, even though it's not winter. The area around the station seems a bit quiet, but there are interesting places along the street leading to the restaurant. It might be a nice place to live. After a 10-minute walk from the station, I arrived at the restaurant feeling a bit hot and sweaty. I ordered the "large" simmered dish with tofu, which was served promptly and tasted light. The rice was a bit soft for my liking, but overall, it was a unique experience. I would like to visit again in the winter and try their curry flavor. Overall, I would recommend this place for a visit.

Today's walking took me towards Yotsugi. Let's take a short break at "Ponoore" in Higashi Yotsugi. The meaning of "Ponoore" is "carefree". It is a yakitori restaurant produced by Nonki in Horikiri Ayame Park. There were no other customers. The menu only offers simmered tripe set meals in three sizes: regular, ladies, and men's. Unfortunately, the limited curry at the ticket machine is not sold out. I'll have the curry tripe simmered in regular size. Unfortunately, there is no alcohol menu available. It's quite disappointing since the Nonki Highball is delicious here. Well, they have limited seating and wouldn't want drunk customers lingering around. How about offering limited drinks for one round only? The curry simmered tripe is prepared after the order is placed. My expectations are rising. After about 5 minutes, my order is ready. The curry-flavored tripe simmered, soup, pickles, and rice set is served. Starting with the soup. A peppery soup with sesame floating on top. The pickles are cucumbers. The umami flavor is probably from the seasoning. A vegetable-first approach has been achieved. Now, onto the main dish of curry simmered tripe. The tender and fluffy tripe is irresistible. Ah, I miss the Nonki Highball. The slightly firm potatoes go perfectly with the curry. Since it collapses easily, it's cooked fresh each time. I'm impressed by their meticulous work. Let's enjoy it alternating with the rice. Even though I usually can't eat much white rice, I find myself eating it up. If I exercise properly afterwards, my numbers should stay in check. I'd like to come back next time for the regular simmered dish. Thank you for the meal! "Ponoore" 3-6-18 Higashi Yotsugi, Katsushika-ku, Tokyo, Livaston Higashi Yotsugi 1F 11:30-15:00 (L.O. 14:30)

Today's lunch was a motsunabe set meal at Pono Ole, a motsunabe specialty store in Katsushika Ward. It seems to be a branch of Nonki in Horikiri. The motsunabe, with plenty of motsu and large blocks of tofu, goes well with rice. For those who want a hearty meal, there is an option to add a large serving for an extra 100 yen. They also have a limited edition curry motsunabe, which I also wanted to try!

This is a restaurant called Horikiri Nonki, known for its delicious motsu-yaki. During the winter season, they offer a limited-time menu item called motsu-ni, which can be enjoyed as a set meal. While Horikiri Nonki includes potatoes in their motsu-ni, Pon'ore adds tofu instead. The highlight of this dish is the soft white part of the motsu mixed with rice, which is truly addictive. This is my fourth time visiting, and I've noticed that recently, local customers come to buy take-out motsu-ni, reminiscent of the good old Showa era.
