On a Saturday afternoon, we visited right after the restaurant opened. It was just us and the staff, so we had a pleasant conversation while enjoying delicious food. I didn't have much of an impression of Fukui cuisine, but I felt it was similar to Kyoto cuisine culture. The sake was also great, and we had a wonderful time!

I was walking aimlessly and my eyes caught sight of it. "Oh, pork miso soup set meal. Should I try it here?" I've been having "pork miso soup" at home for the past 3 days, so I decided to go for it. It was a stylish restaurant that seemed like it belonged in the city. There were still empty seats, so I was seated quickly. The lunch menu had two options: "Vegetable-packed pork miso soup set meal" and "Sauce cutlet bowl set meal", but I chose the "pork miso soup" that drew me in. The soup had lots of chopped vegetables, with daikon radish at the center, and plenty of pork meat. The miso flavor was pretty standard. There was a faint smell that I couldn't quite place, but the soup was delicious with a mild taste and served piping hot. The daikon radish was big and hot, so I enjoyed it bit by bit. The set meal also came with salad (dressing similar to non-oil shiso), salted broccoli, and seaweed tsukudani. I've had pork miso soup for 4 days in a row now, and while this one was tasty, nothing beats the pork miso soup made by my mom (it's legendary, so it's a 5.0 rating) for me.

I visited this new restaurant that opened in late March about a month and a half ago. It is located along Yasukuni Street, diagonally across from Yasukuni Shrine, on the 1st floor of a building that is slightly underground. The exterior is beautiful and the interior visible from outside is modern and clean, giving a sense of comfort. When I arrived around 6 pm, there was only one group of two customers at the L-shaped counter. We were seated at a table. Later on, more customers started to arrive, and by 7 pm, the restaurant was almost full. Most of the customers were women, probably because the interior design is appealing to them. The lunch menu includes dishes like Sauce Katsudon set, which seems to be a local specialty from Fukui. Therefore, this restaurant may be inspired by Fukui cuisine. I was tempted by the "Today's Obanzai (2 servings for 1500 yen)" which includes 6 different dishes, but since it was my first visit, I decided to try various items. We ordered a variety of dishes including Edamame boiled in Maldon salt, New potato chips, Sweet shrimp tempura, Kombu-pickled beautiful cherry chicken tulip, Miso meat sauce cheese with eggplant, Saikyo miso-marinated cod, Seasonal clay pot rice with tarako butter, and Seasonal homemade ice cream with strawberry. We also ordered a variety of drinks. In the end, everything was delicious! The New potato chips were freshly made and disappeared quickly because they were so delicious. The sweet shrimp tempura was crispy and juicy, and the eggplant meat miso cheese and Saikyo miso-marinated cod did not disappoint. The clay pot rice with tarako butter was addictive! They even gave us a complimentary pork soup, which was also very tasty. Honestly, I didn't have high expectations, but everything was surprisingly delicious. The place is clean and cozy, the service is friendly and the prices are reasonable. It's a great addition to the area near Yasukuni Shrine where there are not many restaurants. I'm happy that this new restaurant opened up! I will definitely visit again, probably regularly. It was very delicious! Thank you for the meal! Looking forward to visiting again!

2023/4 "Cheap and delicious! Lovely izakaya ✨✨" Izakaya "Kudan Hitoshizuku" ✨✨ A new izakaya that opened near Kudanshita. The bright and clean atmosphere is impressive. The restaurant opened on March 21, 2023. It's a 7-minute walk from Tokyo Metro Kudanshita Station and also within walking distance from JR Ichigaya Station. The interior is new and stylish. Even a woman alone can feel comfortable walking in. But how does the food taste (*´∇`)ノ ■Items ordered (including tax) ⚫Broccoli puree - 390 yen An unusual taste. I didn't really appreciate this one. ⚫Today's 6 side dishes - 1,500 yen ①Mini tomato honey lemon spa, sweet ✨✨ This is a new taste for me. But it's a good idea. ②Fava bean croquette, crunchy ✨✨ Oh, the distinct fava bean smell. This is interesting, using fava beans like this. ③Homemade namero with miso scent, fluffy The aroma of miso beans with green chili pepper. The smell of the miso beans is nice. The saltiness is just right. Good seasoning. ④Firefly squid and cucumber with spicy vinegar miso Oh, delicious! The firefly squid is well done, and the spicy vinegar miso is spicy and tasty. ⑤Roast beef and watercress The meat flavor is weak, but the yuzu pepper adds a nice accent. ⑥Burdock kinpira Healthy and goes well with alcohol. ⚫Today's sashimi - 1,250 yen Sourced from Toyosu Yamaji. The saury was aged for 5 days... Oh, they brought out the umami flavor nicely. The seared mackerel is perfectly done, very tasty. The natural flounder with engawa is beyond the level you'd expect for this price. Good sourcing, good work. ⚫Eggplant with meat miso cheese - 650 yen Oh, this is good. The eggplant is grilled from raw. The simple finish with red miso and cheese works as a dish. Satisfying. ⚫Miohatsu chicken tulip with kelp - 460 yen I see, "bringing out the chicken flavor." The chicken meat isn't very flavorful, but they managed to bring out the umami with the cut and kelp. ■Drinks ⚫Fresh lemon sour - 490 yen Made with fresh lemon. ■Service Kind of heartwarming. Makes you want to support them. ■Price Shocked! It's cheap, so cheap ✨✨ Totally satisfied (*´ェ`*) The owner, originally from Fukui Prefecture, has a background in izakayas. But the way they bring out the flavors of the ingredients is good, and the flavors work. You shouldn't miss the "6 side dishes" and "sashimi." This place is definitely worth revisiting. The recently opened restaurant still had celebration flowers displayed. It was a small, bright izakaya-style place. For lunch, there are two options: a vegetable-packed pork miso soup set and a sauce katsu don set, both priced at 1000 yen. I decided to try the sauce katsu don set. The dishes were the same as the ones I use at home, which was comforting. The sweet and savory sauce-covered pork cutlet on a bed of rice was just the right amount, made with rice from Ikeda-cho. The salad was garnished with a chrysanthemum flower, adding a nice touch. The spinach ohitashi came with kettle-boiled whitebait. The miso soup included thick fried tofu, clams, and rock seaweed. The little touches here and there were delightful. In the evening, they offer izakaya-style dishes including 6 types of obanzai on the blackboard menu, sashimi, and 3 types of clay pot rice. Other standard items are listed on the paper menu, and they serve sake, shochu, and whiskey for drinks. I look forward to going back in the evening after work.

Located along Yasukuni Street, from Kudanshita to Ichigaya, "Hitoshizuku" just opened on March 21st. I visited for lunch on a day when the cherry blossoms were in full bloom ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ The view of the cherry blossoms from the basement dining area was a pleasant surprise. The lunch menu changes daily, and today's options were pork miso soup set and sauce katsudon set, both priced at 1,000 yen including tax, which seems reasonable for the area. I chose the sauce katsudon set, which came with a mini salad, side dish, and miso soup, offering a well-balanced and gentle flavor. In the evening, they offer a set of 6 side dishes for 1,500 yen for two people, making it a great option for a casual adult drink. I definitely want to visit this place again.
