I went to Kagurazaka with a friend I hadn't seen in a while and enjoyed delicious roasted duck at Kamoshosho. The food did not disappoint, it was amazing. I wanted to try the duck skewers but I'll save that for next time. The roasted duck was tender and the balance between the meat and fat was perfect. Everyone loved it. And of course, the duck soba at the end was delicious. The duck hot pot was also good, but this course was excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant.

The appearance looks high-end. However, the prices are reasonable. The portion size is very satisfying. The Ebi-Ten Soba set comes with soba, two shrimp tempura, seared tuna, onsen tamago, pickles, and rice, providing a full lineup. But when you look at each dish, they are just average. They are not bad, but they don't reach the level of being impressive. This type of restaurant is common in Kagurazaka, with a high-end appearance and variety of dishes, but the quality and prices are more like a family restaurant. It seems like there are many of these types of restaurants in Tokyo's stylish districts. Anyway, as a simple lunch option, this restaurant is satisfactory.

I had a duck hot pot course. The duck soup chawanmushi had edamame on top, making me feel the season. I started with a highball and potato salad with smoked duck sausages. The mountain vegetable ohitashi was more like a soup and delicious. The duck confit was also tasty with alcohol. The white wine from Yamanashi was refreshing and paired well with the tataki and meat sushi, which were juicy. The duck stew was surprisingly light and the meat was tender. The duck menchi with truffle salt was flavorful, and I couldn't decide whether to dip it in the sauce or not. The duck hot pot was brought out, with tsukune and plenty of negi. It was delicious when dipped in the boiling broth. Lastly, I chose soba noodles and enjoyed the duck soba. The meal was perfectly timed, and despite me talking too much, my companions were satisfied. Overall, it was a great experience!

The lighting is a bit dim, with jazz music playing in the background. The prices for drinks at night are quite reasonable. The seasonal set meal costs 1000 yen. The duck meatballs were delicious, but didn't have much of a duck flavor. The meat and potato croquettes were crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. The soba noodles were carefully arranged and very tasty. The food was served quickly, but it was a bit disappointing that they only accept cash for lunch. Next time, I have to try the duck hot pot.

Visited Kamoshou in a quaint place with cobblestone streets halfway up Kagurazaka. As the name suggests, it is a duck specialty restaurant. Today's full course meal came with duck hot pot. The facade is lovely, and the interior has many private and semi-private rooms, making it convenient. Considering the location and atmosphere, the course price is quite reasonable for a unique dining experience, making it a recommended option for entertaining guests. The duck liver appetizer is similar to beef rather than chicken. The duck prosciutto in the appetizer is also reminiscent of pork. The duck sushi has a beef sushi-like quality, which is enjoyable. The juicy duck meatball is delicious. The duck steak is lean with little fat, and when paired with salt, the meat's flavor shines through. The duck hot pot was a new and delightful experience, as the broth quickly coats the meat. Despite the lightness of the leeks, the dish was filling and satisfying. The duck soba as the finale was enjoyed even though already full. Overall, highly recommended. Thank you for the meal.

Used for a banquet. Private rooms with sunken hearths. It was a weekday night, but about 80% of the seats seemed to be filled as far as I could see. I ordered the Duck Course for 8,800 yen. I thought the atmosphere was more formal for entertaining clients, but the food was delicious and the portions were quite generous. It was nice to be able to enjoy duck prepared in various ways such as sashimi, fried, grilled, and shabu-shabu. Even though the last duck shabu-shabu dish came one per person, we all managed to finish it because it was so tasty. I didn't feel like it was worth coming all the way here for a private meal, but I thought it would be good for business dinners or formal gatherings.

The atmosphere was very Kagurazaka-like, as expected. It was a bit hard to find, tucked away in a small alley, but once we found it... Everyone went for the wine pairing course, where you could choose 3 glasses freely, which felt like a pretty good deal. The dishes were light and refreshing all the way to the end, which was gentle on the stomach. The duck menchi katsu paired really well with the truffle salt and was absolutely delicious. Yum yum!

Kagurazaka Street, just across from the Minami Yokocho alley, down a narrow road, you will find this restaurant at the end. The atmosphere looked appealing from the outside, so I decided to visit around 12:30 on a weekday. It was crowded but there were seats available, and I was seated at the counter. The interior of the restaurant had a chic black design, and you have to take off your shoes before entering. The staff were polite and attentive. I ordered the Duck Soba Set (1,280 yen). You can opt for a larger portion for an extra 150 yen, and rice is complimentary. The set included soba noodles, duck and green onion dipping sauce, onsen tamago (hot spring egg), and tuna sashimi on rice, making it quite a filling meal. The soba noodles were firm, and the dipping sauce was rich with a hint of yuzu flavor, making it delicious. The duck slices were small and went well with the soba. Overall, I was satisfied with the lunch experience, including the ambiance of the restaurant. I would definitely consider coming back again in the future.

In Kagurazaka, there are many stylish shops, and I was wandering around trying to decide where to have lunch. I ended up climbing a slope on a side street and found Kamoshou, a restaurant on the left. I had never experienced having lunch in stylish Kagurazaka before, so I wasn't sure about the price range. Kamoshou was a bit on the expensive side, but it was quite crowded. The duck minced meat lunch set I had was 1,380 yen. Personally, I found the minced meat more delicious than the soba. Actually, my son goes to a university near Iidabashi Station. "Good luck!" Thank you for the meal.

Duck soba set meal for 1,280 yen. Large serving of soba for 150 yen. Total 1,430 yen. It was a weekday around 11:30 am. Upon entering, I took off my shoes and was seated at the counter. I ordered using the tablet on the table, choosing the duck soba set meal with a large serving of noodles and no rice. It may seem a bit plain, but it's really convenient. The dipping sauce was warm. Started with the tuna sashimi, followed by the side dish, and then the soba noodles. They were simply delicious. There was no soba broth served after the meal, but that's okay. Paid at the entrance where my shoes were already prepared. Before noon, there was already a sign saying the restaurant was full.

Near Kagurazaka, a few months ago, I was wandering around and noticed a shop that has been renovated into a duck cuisine restaurant. The lunch menu includes duck nanban, duck seiro, duck soboro donburi, and daily specials at reasonable prices. The entrance looks like a traditional Japanese restaurant, with the entrance hidden behind a stone. Inside, the atmosphere is bright and casual. You can choose between sitting at the counter or at a table. The second table from the front is a counter seat with an open kitchen, and the dishes are placed at a lower level in a sunken kotatsu style, which is comfortable for your legs but the bench seats may require you to be mindful if you are wearing a skirt. Orders are taken through a tablet on the table. They serve cold tea in large glasses, which is thin but tasty. The soba noodles come in a normal portion size, which is actually quite generous. The noodles are slightly thick, firm, aromatic, and nicely chilled, providing a good texture. The duck and green onion soup comes in a generous portion size, with a slightly sweet and light flavor. The soup is easy to drink and has a good amount of green onions and duck meat with a savory taste. After drinking, they offer soba-yu, which is very hot and tastes good even without adding it to the remaining soup. The yam with grated yam is soft and the tuna is fresh. The dried daikon radish is sweet, so you may leave some. The pickled vegetables, including sweet pickled radish and lightly salted kelp, are delicious and make you want rice. The duck soup at the end was not to my taste, but it was plentiful, and the soba had a good amount of soup, which felt satisfying. The pickled vegetables were delicious and made me feel like having rice or sake. The soba alone was not enough. I usually don't mention specific dishes in reviews, but sometimes there are standout items even at a new restaurant. This time, it was the pickled radish! Today, the seiro soba was also delicious, and getting mountain-style topping included at this price is a great deal. After the meal, when I stood up to go to the restroom and then to pay, my shoes were already prepared. Also, when I said "thank you for the meal" upon leaving, a cheerful voice from the kitchen replied, "Thank you very much!" The bench for putting on your shoes is a nice touch, and the staff will see you off until you leave the door. It was a relaxed and enjoyable dining experience. Takeout is available, and lunch duck hot pot requires a reservation.

"SHUN Honke, where you can enjoy seasonal ingredients and delicious sake, was renovated in the fall of 2020 as 'Kagurazaka Kamoshou.' As the name suggests, the main focus of the new restaurant is duck. The restaurant offers counter seats, private rooms with table seating, and traditional tatami mat seating, making it very versatile. On cold days, the duck nanban soba is particularly appealing. Since it is a duck specialty restaurant, you can't go wrong with the duck soba. The duck meat is rich and flavorful, with no unpleasant smell, and has a sophisticated taste. The broth is deep and flavorful, and delicious. However, the portion size may be a bit small."

I was planning to go to a restaurant in Iidabashi, but unfortunately it was closed. So, I decided to head towards Kagurazaka. Kagurazaka is such a fun neighborhood, I love it. I wanted to explore the narrow alleyways one by one, but I had a prior commitment, so I decided to have lunch first. After that, I have a mission to buy "Goban's original meat bun" for my mother at home. Since the restaurant I was planning to go to was closed, I decided to try a side street. I stumbled upon a charming Japanese restaurant called "Kamosho". Just the name "duck" made me want to enter. I've recently realized that I really like duck. However, duck dishes can sometimes have a strong taste or smell, so I hope this place with "duck" in the name will be good. I entered the restaurant and took off my shoes. The interior was spacious. Since I was alone, I sat at the counter seat. The space for one person was quite spacious and relaxing. I ordered through a tablet, which gave a casual vibe. I ordered the "Duck Nanban Set" for lunch. The arrival of the Duck Nanban soba. It looked rich, which I like. The duck broth was a bit strong, but I enjoyed it. The duck was cooked together with the broth, so it was tender and flavorful. The soba noodles were thick and satisfying. Although I prefer a bit more rare duck and thinner noodles, I still enjoyed the meal. Overall, I had a good time and the food was delicious. The staff even gave me a Kagurazaka map, and we had a nice chat. The restaurant seems like it would shine more at night with its various duck dishes and selection of drinks. I hope they will offer their unique duck dishes during lunch as well. I would definitely consider coming back for dinner.

【Kagurazaka Lunch Tour 206】August 2021『Kagurazaka Kamoshou』✨✨Kagurazaka SHUN has changed its concept to a duck cuisine specialty restaurant. Kagurazaka SHUN had a good taste, so I decided to try this place as well. The restaurant was renovated and reopened in September 2020. It is located a 6-minute walk from Iidabashi Station on the Tokyo Metro. The interior is like a traditional Japanese izakaya, with a slightly aged but clean atmosphere. Let's see how the food tastes (*´∇`)ノ ■Lunch Menu 1. Seasonal Set Meal 1000 yen 2. Duck Nanban Set Meal 1280 yen 3. Duck Seiro Set Meal 1280 yen 4. Special Set Meal 1000 yen 5. Duck Soboro Rice Bowl Set Meal 1380 yen 6. Large Shrimp Tempura Soba Set Meal 1280 yen ■Duck Soboro Rice Bowl Set Meal 1380 yen (incl. tax) ⚫Duck Rice Bowl: The duck soboro has a strong and delicious flavor. The egg is sweet and savory, with a rich taste. The roasted duck on top is really good. ⚫Half Soba: It's actually cold countryside soba. It's refreshing and perfect for the hot season. ⚫Side Dish & Miso Soup: Pretty standard, but sufficient for a lunch set. ■Service: I think the service here is good. The staff seem well-trained. ■Price: I found it a bit on the expensive side. ■Recommended for: Business lunches, lunch gatherings with a large group. You can enjoy lunch without waiting, even with a large group. Overall, it's a restaurant where you can have a good meal. The service was also polite. Thank you for the meal m(_ _)m □Rating: As of August 2021 - Tabelog Rating: 3.41, based on 48 reviews □Additional Information - Kagurazaka SHUN, from the same group, has better taste. Different restaurants, even in the same group, can have different flavors. - It seems like they are aiming for a high-class Japanese izakaya, but the interior and food composition feel mismatched. The concept seems to come first, with attention to detail.

A friend invited me to join them for duck hot pot, which I love, so I agreed. We had to make a reservation for the duck hot pot set meal. The menu had a variety of delicious options, and we were satisfied with everything we tried. The tempura shrimp was so fresh and the duck was always delicious when we quickly cooked it for hot pot. I prefer to eat each piece of meat individually, even though it's a bit more work. For the final course, we chose soba noodles, which seemed like the perfect choice to go with duck. However, the only disappointing part was that the duck soba only came with noodles, without any meat or green onions. When I asked if I could add green onions, they said it would cost an extra 300 yen, so I decided to skip it. It would have been nice if they had mentioned that leaving some meat and vegetables for the soba would be a good idea. The meal ended with the soba course, and we were told to call for assistance when we finished, which we found amusing. Overall, it was a good dining experience, and we ended up going to a nearby bakery for cream puffs afterwards. Next time, I'll make sure to leave some green onions for the soba dish. I recommend leaving some meat and vegetables for the soba course to enjoy a delicious finish to the meal!

Located about a 5-minute walk from Iidabashi, in Kagurazaka. My first impression was that it had the atmosphere of a high-end restaurant, and seemed quite expensive... But for the portion size, 1,000 yen (tax included) is good. The tuna sashimi could be a bit higher quality, but overall, it was balanced and delicious. Especially the soba noodles, they had a good texture and were delicious.

Today, I met up with my daughter at Kagurazaka. We went to a restaurant called Kagurazaka Kamoshou located on a side street. It was my daughter's request to visit a typical Kagurazaka restaurant. We took off our shoes and entered a private room. I ordered the Special Set Meal for ¥1000 and my daughter ordered the Duck Soboro Rice Bowl Set for ¥1380. The food arrived in 12 minutes. My set meal included chicken cutlet with tuna sashimi on rice, and cold soba noodles. The Duck Soboro Rice Bowl had egg and duck soboro on rice, with a side of cold soba noodles. The flavors were elegant and the portions were generous. The pickles were made of turnips and kelp, which was a nice touch. The atmosphere of the restaurant was great, and it was nice to be able to easily enter such a place.

I visited for lunch with a friend. The place used to have a different name, and I remember going there for dinner in the past. The interior of the restaurant was quite nice. I was looking forward to having my favorite duck hot pot, but it turned out that reservations were required for lunch, so I had to give up on the hot pot. I ordered the "Duck Seiro Set Meal" and my friend got the "Large Shrimp Tempura Soba Set Meal", which also came with a side dish of tuna and grated yam. Even though it was lunchtime, we also had highballs. The soup and soba were both delicious! The duck was plentiful and I was very satisfied. Next time, I will come back to try the duck hot pot. Thank you for the delicious meal!

When I passed by the store, "SHUN Honke" had turned into a different store. The exterior looked the same but the sign was different. It was a little past 12 on a weekday, with about 30% of the seats taken. You have to take off your shoes and sanitize your hands before being led to a counter seat. I ordered using the iPad provided, choosing the duck nanban set for 1,408 yen along with free rice. The set included duck nanban, tuna sashimi, cold tofu, and pickles. Despite only about 30% of the seats being occupied, the food took a while to arrive, around 20 minutes after ordering. The broth had a nice duck flavor, but the soba noodles lacked the authentic taste you would expect. The green onions in the duck nanban didn't have a strong flavor, and the tuna sashimi was a bit tough. The portion of soba was small, so I recommend getting the free rice to go with it. The side dish was burdock and kelp, which complemented the rice well. They only accepted cash for lunch, and the atmosphere was nice with social distancing measures in place. However, the long wait for the soba despite the low number of customers makes it challenging for a business lunch. Overall, it was an okay experience.

Kagurazaka Geisha New Street. When passing by after a long time, I noticed a shop with congratulatory flowers lined up. Wait, wasn't this the location of the Japanese restaurant SHUN? Upon closer inspection, the shop's name was Kamoshou, and it seems like they use a lot of duck meat in their menu. Duck meat has been quite delicious lately, so I decided to give it a try. It turns out that it was a renewal of the original SHUN. Orders were placed using a tablet placed on the table. It seemed like a store practicing the new normal, with mostly semi-private rooms. I ordered the Duck Minced Meat Set Meal. I was debating between Duck Nanban and Duck Minced Meat, but ended up choosing the latter. The scrambled eggs and duck minced meat were both on the drier side, but I prefer them to be more moist. The duck meat on top seemed to be fried with a coating, making it a bit tough. I wish they had served roasted duck meat instead. The meal also came with cold soba, miso soup, and cold tofu, making it quite a generous set meal. It wasn't bad, but there seems to be room for improvement. Thank you for the meal.

Geisha Shindo, with orchids lining the cobblestone alley, offering a menu featuring duck dishes like grilled duck and duck hot pot. The atmosphere is upscale with private rooms in a spacious tatami area that used to feel like a typical izakaya during the SHUN era. Orders are taken on tablet devices, which may be a bit too much for explaining the menu and how to use the tablets. The staff is friendly but a bit too close when serving the food. The counter area remains the same as before, with a view of the kitchen, but the staff doesn't engage in conversation. The floor staff consists of young part-timers who try hard to provide good service. The selection of sake is good, and I tried the "Sugata" sake from Tochigi, which was excellent. However, the glass wine selection is limited to red and white, with no options to choose from. The red wine tasted like water with a hint of red color. The lack of bidet toilets and unchanged restroom design were disappointing. The duck dishes, including duck loin and leg meat with wasabi and yuzu pepper, were delicious. The duck leg meat was tender and light, while the loin was also tasty. The duck hot pot was served thinly sliced with a flavorful soup, but it lacked seasoning until I requested yuzu pepper, which enhanced the taste. The portion size was small, leaving me feeling unsatisfied. Overall, the restaurant has a trendy izakaya vibe catering to a younger crowd, but it falls short of being a sophisticated dining spot for adults. Unfortunately, my intuition was right, and I'm glad I didn't opt for a bottle of wine. I left early to explore other dining options. Thank you for the meal.
