There is a shop located in a place that is far from the station and not easily accessible without a car. It seems to have demand from local residents as well. The main style seems to be a nighttime izakaya, but they also serve lunch, making it convenient. It is a major chain, so the food is decent but not exceptionally delicious, and the service is average. They offer relatively healthy Japanese cuisine, making it suitable for individuals of all ages, from solo diners to families.

Today's outing was to the Tama area, where the midday heat was sweltering. Staying hydrated is important, but so is food! The restaurant I wanted to go to was crowded, and even calling ahead didn't help. I decided to look for another place, but there didn't seem to be any options for Western food. When in doubt, a large chain restaurant, especially a family restaurant with a focus on Japanese cuisine, can be a reliable choice. I found one along the street and headed to the parking lot. After a short wait, I was seated. It was lunchtime, so the place was busy. I was drawn to the eel dish, a summer favorite, but I wanted something quick. One of the advantages and disadvantages of family restaurants is the extensive menu. With 24 different combinations to choose from, I quickly made my selections using the touch screen. I opted for the special summer meal set, which included a bowl of Edo-style Fukagawa rice, a small seafood bowl, a small warm soba, and a chocolate cake for dessert. The food arrived promptly and looked quite luxurious. The Fukagawa rice had a nice aroma and ginger flavor, and the warm soba was tasty. The tempura, including the myoga tempura, was a nice touch. Before I knew it, I had finished my meal. Oh, I almost forgot about dessert! I called the server over, but then realized I could actually request it through the touch screen. What a surprise! The level of service at family restaurants these days is impressive. Overall, it was a delightful dining experience.

In September, my family of three went to Yumean for lunch! It was still hot, so after eating we decided to have some shaved ice. We ordered tempura soba, tonkatsu set, and toriten udon for the main dishes, and strawberry shaved ice and melon parfait for dessert. The food was really delicious, with just the right amount of flavor. We all enjoyed putting condensed milk on the strawberry shaved ice and watching the ice melt as we ate. The food arrived promptly and was tasty. However, the restroom was not very clean, and the entrance to the restaurant from the stairs might be difficult for people with disabilities.

Today, I played futsal at Fuchu Sports Garden. I decided to stop by Yumean next door around 1 pm, but surprisingly, there was a wait of 7 groups! I was taken aback by how crowded it was. It seemed like they were also taking lunch reservations. Despite being able to get in quickly, I couldn't help but wonder why it was so busy. A friend mentioned that even the nearby Komeda Coffee is always crowded, so maybe there's just a lack of places to eat in the area compared to the demand. After slurping down some soba noodles with my friends, we quickly left to go play sports. Thanks for the meal!

I was driving around looking for Yumean, and I found it! It was on the second floor above the parking lot. They were selling takoyaki. The special menu item was Thai fish from Uwajima. We ordered that set. The presentation was beautiful, and it was delicious. I had a unique paper pot dish that was lightly seasoned but tasty. Lastly, we had black sugar jelly which was very soothing. Thank you for the delicious meal!

Yumean Fuchu Oshitatecho branch @ Fuchu City, Tokyo @ Family restaurant Located next to the car return housing complex on Shinagawa Street in Fuchu City, this is Yumean. I'm feeling a bit under the weather with a fever, and as forecasted, the blue sky in the morning has turned into a snowy downpour. There is a covered parking lot here, not far from my home, so I chose this place. It's been about a year and a half since my last visit on August 9, 2017. The parking lot is indeed covered, which is good, but there is no roof over the stairs to the second floor entrance! It's a bit of a distance to run, and the rain is really strong, so I had to go back to my car to get an umbrella. I wish they had at least put up a tent like other family restaurants. This restaurant offers a variety of fish set meals, tempura, udon, soba, chige, various salads, and side dishes such as oborodofu, steamed warm vegetables, and more. The rice options include multi-grain rice and small bowls with tempura, negitoro, crab, and dried young sardines. They even have eel rice bowls and cold noodles. Surprisingly, there are quite a few desserts, such as black sugar jelly, cheesecake, Hokkaido rich soft serve, matcha jelly soft serve, mango soft serve parfait, and tonight they had a seasonal strawberry parfait. Tonight, I opted for a warm udon. Just from January 24 to today, they are having a Winter Sparkle - Seafood, Beef Tongue, and Gourmet Udon Fair, offering 12 items including sea urchin, salmon roe, crab seafood bowl, beef tongue, miso stewed udon, sukiyaki, eel rice, and more. They all looked delicious, and I chose the miso stewed udon from here. My companion, who doesn't like sea urchin or salmon roe, went for the regular seafood bowl from the regular menu. Since this restaurant has a wide variety of appetizers, we added a small portion of fried chicken. Yumean Meal Set 1,099 Seafood Bowl and Warm Udon Set Miso Stewed Udon 999 Small Rice 149 Small Fried Chicken 149 The miso stewed udon had spinach, Chinese cabbage, mushrooms, pork, fish cakes, raw egg, and surprisingly pumpkin like in houtou. It is simmered on a burner at the table, and the broth quickly boiled due to the strong heat. The surprising thing was that the udon noodles were delicious. It exceeded my expectations. The miso broth was also delicious, but the luxurious problem was that there was too much udon and ingredients, so the broth ran out quickly. The seafood bowl mainly featured shredded omelet with squid, sweet shrimp, snow crab, salmon roe, in a refreshing bowl. The small fried chicken, with a fun name, had one small piece each, totaling two pieces. It was crispy and juicy, and perfect for snacking. By the way, this restaurant has a wide selection of alcoholic beverages. There were groups of people drinking merrily in the back, which was set up like a private room. Everything was very delicious. Family restaurants these days are truly "not to be underestimated." Highly recommended ★★★★★ Parking Free parking available, some covered Date of visit 2019-01-31 night Smoking: Completely non-smoking Credit card: Accepted Electronic money: Accepted Point card: T-Point Notes: Very impressed with the improvements, convenient as a casual family restaurant.

Next to Fuchu Sports Garden, there is a restaurant affiliated with the Skylark group. It was my first time at Yumean. The first floor and second floor were both restaurant areas. Even though I arrived well before 12 o'clock, there were only a few parking spots available. I hurried up the stairs and entered the crowded restaurant. Luckily, there were one or two seats available. However, when I left after about 30 minutes, there were about 20-30 people waiting at the entrance. It seems like a popular restaurant. Yumean was quite busy, or maybe this particular branch is special. As a first-time visitor to Yumean, I couldn't tell. There were about 10 semi-private rooms for 4 or 6 people, and some larger semi-private rooms by the window for bigger groups. The layout of the restaurant seemed to cater to different group sizes. There were also regular tables on the floor. Some customers seemed to be there for events like Shichi-Go-San or post-funeral gatherings. There was a sign at the entrance listing the reservations for the day, which I found unusual for a family restaurant, but it made sense after seeing the crowded restaurant. Fortunately, we were able to get a semi-private room. Lucky us! We ordered the daily set lunch (599 yen + tax), which came with a main dish, fried food, and side dishes. You could choose between a rice set or a cold noodle set. The rice set included rice, miso soup, and pickles, with the option for extra rice for free. We ordered one of each to compare. The food arrived on a tray with casters, which was a nice touch. The taste was decent, typical of Skylark group restaurants, but the stylish atmosphere and presentation made it more enjoyable than expected. The udon was particularly delicious. It was my first time at Yumean, and I was surprised by the quality at this price point. I wonder if it's because of Yumean or this specific branch. I might visit other Yumean branches to try their daily specials. Overall, a satisfying meal.

Everyone went to the popular Yumean restaurant. The meal was delicious as always, but it took quite a while for the food to come out and the miso soup was lukewarm, so I would rate it a bit lower.

I love roast beef so I ordered the roast beef bowl here! The amount of rice is generous... it was quite a large portion. It was my first time at Yumean, and it felt like a family restaurant serving Japanese food.

I came to try the "Mojito Tofu" (399 yen + tax), a menu item selected for the canceled menu project of "Dare to Eat!?" by Arashi no Yakiniku. It was described as an adult's mojito-flavored pudding, but what was on the iron pot was tofu, not pudding. It seemed like they heated rum and sprinkled mint on top to create a refreshing taste. After heating it for about 5 minutes until the gelatin-like substance around the tofu melted, I scooped it up with a mini ladle. It was hot and had a strong mojito flavor. Definitely not suitable for drivers. The mint aroma was noticeable, and there was also chopped green onions and a hint of caramel-like flavor. Overall, it was just bad. As for the meal, I tried the "Bandit Don" from the early summer feast fair, priced at 749 yen + tax. It consisted of three large pieces of fried chicken forming a mountain. It looked interesting. Upon tasting it, I realized it tasted similar to the young chicken karaage don from S Gusto. The tenderness of the meat, the greasiness, and the crispy coating were all reminiscent of the young chicken karaage don. The coating was crispy, but after eating three pieces, the greasiness became a bit overwhelming.

During work, I had a job in Higashimurayama and decided to have lunch on my way back by car. I happened to pass by Yumean in Fuchu at just the right time for lunch. The atmosphere in the store was like a gathering place for local elderly people, chatting while enjoying their meals. I ordered the Vegetable Tempura Udon and Bamboo Shoot Rice from the daily specials menu. I wanted to have noodles, so I chose udon from the options of grilled fish, noodles, and others. The dishes arrived in about 5 minutes. I started with the bamboo shoot rice that came with the meal. It was a simple cooked rice with just the right texture, enhanced by the flavor of trefoil. The udon was served cold, with a noticeable firmness in texture, and the seasoning was a mix of dashi, grated daikon radish, ginger, and bonito flakes, which was not too strong and tasted good. The vegetable tempura consisted of okra, pumpkin, and eggplant, a bit on the smaller side but still satisfying.

My partner's mother and my partner went shopping together, and the three of us had lunch here during our outing. My partner's mother had the Ebi-Ten 2/8 Soba, my partner had the daily special lunch with fried young chicken and eggplant miso, and I had the O-tanoshimi Bento. We all opted for the drink bar as well. My partner's mother's soba arrived first, so she started eating. The tempura in the soba included 2 shrimp tempura, okra, pumpkin, and squid tempura. My partner ordered the daily special lunch with extra rice, but he found it a bit lacking as the dishes were quite flavorful. In addition to the main dish, it also came with croquette and stick gyoza. My O-tanoshimi Bento came in a fancy-looking box but had a relatively simple menu, with less than 800 calories. The Gomoku rice was served in a steamer, and when poured into a rice bowl, it was about one cup. The ingredients were on the lighter side. It included 2 slices of salmon sashimi, 2 sweet shrimp, and one each of shrimp tempura, squid tempura, and pumpkin tempura. There was also dashimaki tamago, miso soup, and pickles. After the meal, my partner's mother found shaved ice on the menu and suggested we try it. She chose the mini-size Uji matcha and red bean shaved ice, and I decided to join her. We also ordered a side of milk for 50 yen and shared it. The mini shaved ice was surprisingly large, with about 22-3 cm from the bottom. The ice had matcha syrup inside, which was served separately in another container. The red beans were also served separately, and they were more like a small amount of cold sweet red bean paste. The milk seemed to be condensed milk as it was smooth when poured. The shaved ice was made with slowly frozen "pure ice," which was smooth at first but became crunchy towards the bottom, making it a bit difficult to finish. My partner's mother finished hers quickly, as she loves shaved ice. We enjoyed warm tea and coffee after the meal. Thank you for the delicious meal.

This month, I came to a cozy family restaurant near Oshikari Town for work. They offer a variety of lunch menus such as weekly set meals and daily specials. The lunch menus come with the option of extra large portions for free. The weekly set meals consist of three options with prices ranging from 800 to 900 yen, mainly featuring tempura and grilled fish. The daily specials include five options like fried chicken, sausages, and minced cutlets, served with vegetables, pickles, miso soup, and rice for 600 yen. The flavors and portion sizes are satisfying, so I highly recommend it. They also serve complimentary hot tea. I will definitely be coming back here this month.

In early February, I stopped by a friend's house in Fuchu on my way home. When I looked at the menu, I suddenly felt like having "Curry Udon," so I ordered that. My husband ordered the "Seasonal Tempura Bowl" in a large size, and the kids ordered the "Grilled Chicken with Teriyaki Mayo Bowl" and the "Winter Deluxe Umakadon." We also got the drink bar set. While waiting for our meals, I wanted to enjoy the drink bar, but there were few options, which was a bit disappointing. Additionally, my husband didn't like the matcha latte. When the food arrived, we dug in. The food was decently tasty. Despite being a family restaurant, the atmosphere was not too lively, allowing us to enjoy our meal quietly.
