Located a little away from Shinbashi Station, this underground restaurant is next to a famous standing sushi restaurant and is a popular tonkatsu restaurant that has been awarded the Michelin Bib Gourmand. Although the lunch last order is listed until late, they often close around 13:30, so it's recommended to go early. I arrived around 13:00 on a weekday and there was already a line of four people in front of me, so I ended up waiting for about 30 minutes! They mentioned that they might run out of rice, so it's better to visit early. I ordered the Special Selection Rosu & Hire for 2800 yen, and they fry it right in front of you after you order, so it's best to time your visit accordingly. When the dish arrived, it was quite a large portion, and I started to regret if I ordered too much, but after taking a bite, I changed my mind! It was not greasy at all, very refreshing, and both the Rosu and Hire were extremely delicious! Moreover, even when it cooled down, it didn't get tough or greasy, and the fat was actually sweet! I personally found the sweet sauce a bit mediocre, but it paired perfectly with salt! Since there was no dressing for the cabbage, I wonder if it's okay to bring my own next time? You can get refills for the cabbage and rice! By the way, on my first visit, I thought I was lining up early, but unexpectedly, I ended up in line next to the sushi restaurant, and both places were fully booked, so I couldn't get in... The tonkatsu restaurant entrance is on the left, while the sushi restaurant entrance is on the right, so please be careful. If there is a line, you just need to enter the number of people and contact information on the ticket machine next to the entrance and wait nearby. The building is narrow and hot, so I do not recommend waiting inside.笑

Tabelog 3.52 ✍️ 2023 Michelin Bib Gourmand Black Pork Tonkatsu Horiichi Shimbashi - Black Pork Loin & Fillet Set Meal ¥1800 On this day, I went to "Black Pork Tonkatsu Horiichi" to try their exquisite tonkatsu, which has won the 2023 Michelin Bib Gourmand award. The restaurant, located a 4-minute walk from Shimbashi, specializes in black pork tonkatsu and opened in April 2021. In less than two years, they have already gained popularity and received the prestigious Michelin Bib Gourmand award. The restaurant's commitment includes using the finest "Kagoshima Black Pork" without freezing it, utilizing rice oil for a crispy finish that enhances the natural flavors of the ingredients, and creating a special salt using Okinawan salt to bring out the richness of the meat. Excited by these details, I visited the restaurant, and upon arrival at 1:00 PM, there was already one person waiting outside. Just after I arrived, another person came and the restaurant was already sold out, showing how popular it is after winning the Bib Gourmand award. I was called in at 1:15 PM and seated at the counter, which was very clean and appetizing. Although I was intrigued by the premium Shima Anno black pork, it was sold out, so I ordered the Black Pork Loin & Fillet set meal. Within 10 minutes, miso soup, rice, black vinegar pickles, and tonkatsu arrived. The tonkatsu, fried in rice oil to enhance the flavors, had a beautiful golden brown color. The fillet was firm and the loin was elegant, with a balanced amount of fat. The meat was cooked perfectly, juicy, and full of flavor. First, I tried the loin with Okinawan rock salt, and the crispy coating, tender meat, and the subtle sweetness and umami of the fat spread in my mouth, making it incredibly delicious. The tonkatsu sauce, mild tonkatsu sauce, and miso sauce were all available, but I found the mild tonkatsu sauce with mustard to be the best match, although the Okinawan salt was also fantastic. The fillet was incredibly tender, juicy, and had a refined umami flavor compared to the loin. It also paired well with the salt. Both the fillet and loin had a light, crispy coating that did not feel heavy, enhancing the taste of the premium ingredients. The pork miso soup, made with additive-free country miso, was gentle and flavorful with plenty of pork and vegetables. The finely chopped cabbage was crunchy and delicious, and I ended up asking for a refill as it disappeared quickly. I couldn't stop eating from start to finish, and the exceptional customer service added to the experience at Black Pork Tonkatsu Horiichi, which won the Michelin Bib Gourmand award in less than two years. I will definitely visit again to try the premium Shima Anno black pork. Address: Black Pork Tonkatsu Horiichi B1F, Le Glacier BLDG.13, 3-8-5 Shimbashi, Minato-ku, Tokyo 4 minutes walk from JR Shimbashi Station (258m) 6 minutes walk from Toei Mita Line Uchisaiwaicho Station Opening Hours: [Lunch] Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat 11:30-14:30 [Dinner] Irregular operation 17:00-20:00 Closed on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Sundays Payment: - Cards accepted (VISA, Master, JCB, AMEX, Diners) - Electronic money accepted (Suica, Rakuten Edy, nanaco, WAON, iD, QUIC) *Reservations are not accepted for lunch, and the menu may be sold out. This weekend, I went to eat delicious "tonkatsu". The place is about a 5-minute walk from Shinbashi Station, located in the basement floor of a slightly crowded building. You can easily spot it by the signboard and menu displayed outside. They serve delicious black pork, and the restaurant opened in April 2021 with the aim of offering high-quality "tonkatsu". The menu includes options such as "Black Pork" or "Premium Black Pork", and you can choose between loin and fillet, or a combination of both. The premium brand varies depending on the day, and on this particular day, they were serving "Abel Black Pork". I ordered the special black pork loin and fillet cutlet set meal (3,100 yen). The miso soup was quite sweet, maybe made with barley miso. The pickles served alongside were marinated in black vinegar and had a nice crunch. The vegetables were also well-seasoned and colorful. I was pleasantly surprised by how tender the loin cutlet was, not too heavy, and very delicious. The fat was sweet, balancing the strength of the tonkatsu. The fillet also had a strong umami flavor. I prefer fillet cutlets, so I was very satisfied! They provide two types of sauce, miso sauce, and salt on the table. The less sweet sauce was particularly tasty. The service provided by the owner was polite and very pleasant. This is important! The restaurant was awarded a Bib Gourmand in the 2023 Michelin Guide. During busy times, they distribute tickets through a reservation system. They also notify customers via social media as the time approaches. While Shinbashi has several delicious tonkatsu restaurants, this one has definitely made its mark among the top contenders! I look forward to visiting again.

On September 10, 2023, I visited Kurobuta Tonkatsu Horii (Shinbashi) to enjoy some delicious tonkatsu for the weekend. The restaurant is located about a 5-minute walk from Shinbashi Station, in a slightly cluttered building on the basement floor. The signboard and menu displayed outside serve as a good landmark. The restaurant opened in April 2021 with the aim of serving delicious black pork. The menu offers options of "Black Pork" or "Special Black Pork," with a choice of loin or fillet, or a combination of both. The special brand of the day was "Abel Black Pork." I ordered the Special Black Pork Loin & Fillet Cutlet Set Meal (3,100 yen). The miso soup was quite sweet, with a hint of barley miso. The black vinegar pickles served in the position of pickles were crunchy and well-pickled. The vegetables were also well-prepared and had a nice texture. The loin was surprisingly tender and not too heavy, making it very delicious. The fatty parts were sweet, creating a good balance and adding strength to the tonkatsu. The fillet also had a strong umami flavor. I personally prefer fillet, so I was very satisfied! The table had two types of sauce, miso sauce, and salt as condiments. The less sweet sauce was particularly delicious. The lady serving us was very polite and friendly, which was a nice touch. It was mentioned that they received a Bib Gourmand in the 2023 Michelin Guide, which is quite an achievement. During busy times, they use a reservation system with ticket distribution. They also notify customers through social media as the time approaches. Shinbashi has several delicious tonkatsu restaurants, but this one is definitely among the top contenders. I look forward to visiting again!

Kagoshima black pork tonkatsu at Horiichi Shimbashi Station~Michelin Bib Gourmand-winning restaurant. The tonkatsu, as well as the pork miso soup, are both top-notch in flavor. The tonkatsu made by the owner, originally from Kagoshima, is elegant, easy to eat, and very satisfying. The pork loin is cooked thoroughly, with a sweet fatty taste that pairs well with salt. The sauce is sweet, so it's recommended to eat it with plenty of Japanese mustard. The pork fillet is packed with flavor and goes well with both salt and miso. It was a very satisfying tonkatsu meal. Thank you for the meal. This was my first time visiting. It's a small restaurant next to Akira's standing sushi bar, with a counter for three seats and two tables for four people each. They offer standard and special black pork, so I decided to go for the special 130g loin cut. You can get one refill of rice and cabbage. There are two types of sauce, salt, and other condiments for those who like to change up the flavors. The meat seemed a bit small at first, but it turned out to be just the right amount. The frying oil was light, enhancing the flavor of the black pork. The combination of salt and mustard was perfect. I had a light second helping of rice, and with the friendly service, it's a great restaurant. Thank you for the meal.

I heard a rumor and decided to check it out. I arrived at the restaurant around 10:30 AM to secure a spot for the 11:30 AM opening, and managed to get the first spot in line! The staff mentioned that they usually put out the ticket machine around 10:30 AM. The black pork loin and fillet lunch set for ¥1900 was delicious, with sweet pork fat and a sauce that reminded me of Kagoshima cuisine. There were also mild sweet sauce, miso sauce, and salt on the table for you to enjoy. You can have one free refill of rice and cabbage. The rice was shiny and tasted like new rice, cooked soft and delicious. It was a miracle to have such a satisfying tonkatsu lunch for only ¥1900 on a weekday. Thank you for the meal!

First visit 202308 (No.4717) 1. Purpose of visit - Selecting a lunch restaurant in the Shinbashi area for gathering material for sushi. 2. Shop information - Genre on Tabelog: Tonkatsu - Opened in April 2021 - Specializes in black pork tonkatsu - Selected by the Michelin Guide Tokyo 2023 - The owner is from Kagoshima and has extensive experience in the local food and beverage industry - Moved to Tokyo to open a store in Shinbashi to offer his favorite Kagoshima black pork tonkatsu - Business hours [Lunch] Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday 11:30-14:30 * No reservations, ends when sold out * Occasionally closed for temporary closure due to the condition of the meat. The latest information is updated on Twitter and Instagram. [Dinner] Irregular business hours * Reservations accepted, please check the business days and make a reservation from the website reservation site - Closed on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Sundays - Seating capacity: 12 seats - Style of taking turns by issuing tickets at the storefront ticket machine 3. Crowdedness and atmosphere on the day - Arrived at the storefront at 10:25 on a weekday, with 2 customers in front and 4 customers behind - Basically enter from the staircase with the ticket machine, but there are multiple exits, an interesting structure 4. Service - Polite and friendly service following the manual 5. Order items ■ Abel Black Pork Fillet Lunch 1,900 yen It took about 13-14 minutes from ordering to serving~♬ Since I was at the counter seat, I could also observe the owner's actions. The frying oil made a sound indicating a medium to high temperature frying, with the ideal pink color in the center and overflowing with meat juice after frying♡♡♡ The "fillet cutlet" was incredibly tender and delicious, but the miso soup, pickles, and tonkatsu sauce were all on the sweeter side, Kagoshima style perhaps??? * Cabbage and rice can be refilled once for free♡ Thank you for the meal.

Last time, I had the black pork loin and tenderloin cutlet set meal. When I visited at 1 p.m., there was a seat available and I could sit down smoothly. Lucky me! This time, I decided to try the Shimayasu Anno black pork loin set meal that I was curious about. It all came in 10 minutes. As for the cutlet, it was tender! It's completely different from just regular black pork loin. If you're going to eat, it's definitely this one. The taste of the meat is also good with a nice amount of salt. The normal sauce is too sweet for me, so if you prefer less sweetness, go for the sauce with less sweetness. I was very satisfied.

On hot days, I tend to gravitate towards cold noodles. After exercising in the morning, I felt like having a hearty meal, so I remembered this place and decided to visit. Until September 13th, there is a campaign with American Express where you can get a 20% cashback if you register in advance. I registered my American Express card and decided to use it here. Since it was a weekday, I could order from the regular dinner menu, but I opted for the weekday lunch special - the Roast & Fillet Cutlet set for 1900 yen. I also wanted to try the Shinsei sake that I've been curious about. The owner kindly showed me the different types they had, and I chose the R-type. Surprisingly, it was only 800 yen for a glass of this sake. The taste was like a sweet dessert wine but not overly sweet, making it easy to drink as an aperitif. The tonkatsu took a bit of time to prepare as the owner coats the meat with batter right before frying. When it was ready, they served it with rice and pork miso soup. The miso soup was filled with chunky ingredients and large pieces of pork. The rice portion was small, but you could ask for a refill, which is a must (laughs). Finally, the freshly fried fillet cutlet arrived. It was beautifully pink and crispy, and it tasted best with salt. The cabbage came with a sweet special sauce. This time, the roast cutlet felt a bit thin, so maybe I should have chosen the premium meat option. I would love to come back again for another meal. It was a treat to be able to enjoy this lunch special, and thank you for the meal! I made sure to pay with my AMEX card (laughs).

It seems to be a new restaurant. A full-fledged tonkatsu restaurant in the basement of a drinking establishment building. The restaurant has 2 tables and 3 counter seats, not very spacious, but the food is delicious. The must-have is the loin cutlet lunch. There are plenty of spices on the table, and you can enjoy them with the juicy and crispy loin cutlet, which has a gentle sweetness of pork. The sauce, salt, and miso sauce are all good and go well with the tonkatsu. Reset your palate with pickles. The miso sauce is the best today. This tonkatsu lunch will give you energy for the afternoon. Other customers are also surprised by the deliciousness and say they will come back as they leave. It's not just delicious but also a cozy place. You can get a second serving of cabbage and rice. The tonjiru (pork miso soup) is also full of ingredients and can be a meal on its own. One of the famous tonkatsu restaurants in Shinbashi. This is the true pleasure of a lunch stroll in Shinbashi. It was a great lunch.

We made a reservation at the machine in front of the restaurant, which gave us a sense of security. When our turn came, a staff member called us. We waited while sitting in chairs in the small restaurant. The tonkatsu, which was deep-fried, was served after being allowed to rest. We tried both the brand pork and regular pork, and the brand pork had a sweet taste. The regular pork was also delicious. There were three types of sauce and salt available. We enjoyed the meal without getting tired of it until the end. I would like to go again.

It was delicious!! I discovered this place for the first time today. After being turned down by the restaurants I wanted to go to, I finally ended up here. It was crowded, but they offered to share a table with me. A young businessman sitting across from me agreed, so we had lunch together with a laugh. The cold tea they served was so refreshing after wandering in the heat. I've always been a fan of pork fillet since I was a kid, so I chose the fillet without hesitation! The cabbage was finely shredded like snow, and the miso soup had a slightly sweet taste with onions. The homemade pickles were tangy and sour. The first bite of the pork cutlet was crispy and juicy, so delicious!! The meat was surprisingly tender and very tasty. I think even the loin cutlet would be good here. They had two types of sauce, sweet and less sweet, and I preferred the less sweet one! I will definitely go back again. And the customer service is really great. I love it.

I visited a tonkatsu restaurant called Horii in Shimbashi around noon on the hottest day of the year. I made a reservation using a tablet device in front of the store, and they would notify me via email or Line when a table became available. The restaurant was small, with the owner and his wife managing the floor and kitchen. I ordered the Black Pork Loin & Fillet Lunch set for 1900 yen, which included cabbage, rice, miso soup, and pickles. The food was delicious, with the pork cutlets being served with a slightly sweet sauce. The miso soup was made with koji, giving it a sweet flavor, and the pickles were slightly sweet and not too sour. The cabbage was finely shredded and juicy, and I was able to get a refill of both the rice and cabbage. The service was excellent, and I would like to try their alcoholic drinks and evening menu when the weather cools down. As I left the restaurant, I noticed a line of about 10 Asian tourists waiting outside, a testament to the popularity of the place among travelers. Overall, it was a great dining experience.

[July 7, 2023 First Visit] This popular tonkatsu restaurant is very convenient because of its automatic reservation system, so there is no need to wait in line. It is located just a short walk from Shinbashi Station. Tonkatsu restaurants often have long lines once they become famous, but this place has a tablet for reservations in front of the store. You can make a reservation in advance and receive a notification via SMS or email when your turn is ready. First, please watch the reel video here: https://www.instagram.com/p/CuYmwjjA26l/. This restaurant has even been featured in the Michelin guide and offers delicious food at a reasonable price. They provide paper napkins, disposable chopsticks, and wet towels in plastic bags, which is a unique touch. The interior is small but very clean. The kitchen is also small, operated by the owner and one female staff member. The food takes a bit of time to be served because they fry it slowly. This time, I ordered the set meal with black pork loin and fillet tonkatsu. Even though it was loin, it was light and did not leave me feeling heavy. There are two types of sauce on the table, but neither suited my taste. The meat was so delicious that I found it best enjoyed with just salt. This restaurant is conveniently located, and you don't have to wait in line, so I will definitely be visiting again.

Underground restaurant. There is a ticket machine for waiting in line on the landing after going down the stairs. I arrived around 12:45 on a weekday and there were 4 groups ahead of me. I registered in the machine to wait in line, thinking that the number of people waiting seemed manageable for turnover. However, it ended up taking more than 30 minutes. There were also Korean customers waiting in line, and I wondered if foreigners also liked tonkatsu. Once inside and after placing my order, the food came relatively quickly. After me, two more groups came in before the end of today's lunch service. The restaurant has a small space with 3 counter seats and 2 four-person tables. I ordered the Black Pork Loin & Fillet Lunch for 1,900 yen (tax included), which came with miso soup and pickles. Rice and cabbage are refillable once. The price is for weekday lunch, with a difference of around 300-500 yen from regular prices. The pork was tender, with the loin having just the right amount of fat, and both were satisfyingly delicious. There were three sauces (regular, miso, and slightly sweet) and one salt option. I found the regular sauce on the cabbage to be sweeter than expected, but it tasted different when paired with the tonkatsu. I personally preferred tonkatsu with tonkatsu sauce, mustard, and a slightly sweet sauce, or occasionally with salt. The Black Pork Loin Lunch is priced at 1,400 yen, making it comparable to my favorite tonkatsu restaurant which also offers a similar price. It's hard to choose between the two as they are both delicious, but my favorite tonkatsu place serves slightly thicker cuts which provide more satisfaction. However, here you can have unlimited rice, cabbage, and pickles, which might make it a bit cheaper. The rice, miso soup, cabbage, and pickles were all delicious. The cabbage portion was on the smaller side, so getting a refill is a must. It was also nice that the self-serve drink option was oolong tea. Above all, the two staff members were very kind, making the dining experience pleasant. Waiting at the counter, you can hear the sound of the tonkatsu being freshly cut, which is a special privilege! I would like to try the premium tonkatsu next time, even though it's expensive. (Translated from Japanese to English)

A Michelin-rated tonkatsu restaurant near Shimbashi Station. It's located underground and a bit hard to find. The atmosphere is like a hidden gem. When you go down the stairs, you can get a numbered ticket. However, the wait at 12:15 is only about 5-10 minutes. Relatively quick. They offer two types of tonkatsu, loin and fillet, and two types of pork. I chose the 130g black pork loin. Waited an additional 15 minutes. It takes a bit of time because it's cooked at a low temperature. The tonkatsu tastes really good. The fat melts in your mouth without any unpleasant smell or taste. You can taste the high-quality fat in a light and crispy coating. The lean meat is also tender and of good quality. The coating is crispy and has a decent thickness. Personally, I wish it was a bit thicker, but for a 1900 yen lunch set, it's understandable. They offer two types of sauce and even miso sauce. You can also enjoy it with salt. It comes with miso soup, which adds to the overall satisfaction. The restaurant is a bit small, but there's no line, so I thought it was a pretty good tonkatsu restaurant.

I had heard that the customer service was excellent, and it was exactly as I had heard. Both the owner and the female staff were wonderful. It really makes a difference. I left feeling very satisfied. I had the special Abel Black Pork loin and fillet cutlet set meal. It cost 2800 yen. The regular loin cutlet is 1600 yen. You can get free refills of rice and cabbage, so it's not really expensive. They offer sauce, non-sweet sauce, miso sauce, and salt. I tried them all because there were plenty of cutlets. The non-sweet sauce was a surprise, but then I realized the regular sauce was quite sweet. The miso sauce was unexpected. I had always avoided miso cutlets, thinking they were strange, but this was delicious! Of course, the salt was also tasty. The pork soup and rice were all top-notch. The restaurant has limited seating, with four-person tables, two tables, and a three-seat counter, so if this place gets popular, it might be difficult to get a table. Anyway, it was a fantastic meal!

Around 11:40, we arrived at the restaurant and received a number ticket from the tablet at the entrance. There were five groups ahead of us, but the wait was not too long. We were seated at the counter and ordered the special selection black pork loin lunch, which was delicious. The pork was tender and juicy, with a nice balance of fat. Although the bottom was a bit soggy, the miso soup was light and the pickles were also good. Overall, we were satisfied with the meal and ready to move on to our next destination.

I revisited on Saturday. I arrived at 11:10 and was the third group in line. There are only two 4-person tables and 4 counter seats, so if you want to get in when they open, you need to be the fourth group in line! Today, the restaurant was full by around 11:20 with customers who arrived for lunch. The Saturday lunch menu includes the following options: - Regular Black Pork Loin Cutlet Set Weekdays: ¥1,300 Saturdays: ¥1,600 - Abel Black Pork Loin Cutlet Set Weekdays: ¥1,900 Saturdays: ¥2,100 I opted for the Regular Black Pork Loin Cutlet Set (130g) for ¥1,600, as I had the premium option a couple of days ago. Even though I was unsure about how it would compare, the black pork here was tender and delicious. It has less fat and is refreshing, which I found suitable for my stomach as someone in their 50s. The fact that you can enjoy this taste for only ¥1,300 on weekdays is amazing. I also wrote about it on my blog.

"Horiichi" is a popular tonkatsu restaurant located in a mixed-use building on B1F near Shinbashi Station. Despite opening in April 2021, it has already been selected as a Bib Gourmand in the "Michelin Tokyo Guide 2023". The restaurant has a small seating area with 8 tables and 4 counter seats. There is a reservation machine in front of the shop where you can sign up and they will call you when your table is ready. When I arrived at 1:30 PM, there was only one person waiting, and I was seated within 1-2 minutes. I ordered the Kurobuta pork loin lunch for 1,900 yen. The tonkatsu is fried in 100% rice oil, first at a low temperature and then at a high temperature to achieve a crispy texture. The balance of the crispy coating, tender lean meat, and sweet fatty meat was exquisite. The miso soup, with thinly sliced gingko nuts, daikon, carrots, pork, and burdock, was also delicious, with a rich umami flavor and a hint of sweetness. The tonkatsu sauce, an original recipe from the owner's family restaurant, was sweet and memorable. I personally recommend the tonkatsu sauce over the other options available. Knowing that such a delicious restaurant is nearby made me feel grateful, and I felt like I could just eat tonkatsu at Horiichi for the rest of my life. The attentive service was also excellent, and I definitely want to visit again. Yes, I will definitely go back! I also wrote about it on my blog: https://ameblo.jp/smk-blog/entry-12806795164.html"
