Visited for the first time with my wife to the former Maeda Marquis residence. We also took a break at this cafe on our way to the station after walking around Komaba Park. I had an "Iced Coffee Float" (590 yen) and my wife had a "Milk Crepe Set" (820 yen) with iced coffee. The milk crepe was moist and smooth. The coffee was good, easy to drink, but nothing particularly memorable. This cafe seemed to have fewer menu options compared to the one in Shimotakaido, but it had a nice atmosphere of a "student town cafe." It appeared to be run by a female owner who was handling everything on her own, so it seemed busy when it got crowded. Cafes are scarce around this area, making this place quite valuable.

I visited the Japan Folk Crafts Museum for the first time that day. Across the road, there is the residence of Soetsu Yanagi, who was active in the folk craft movement, which can also be visited. The concept of "beauty in everyday life" involves finding aesthetic beauty in natural and simple objects that were once used as everyday items, with Korean white porcelain being a prime example. Artists like Kanjiro Kawai and Shoji Hamada are renowned for their work, particularly their tea bowls. After exploring the area, I stopped by a quaint café along the way. The café had a nostalgic atmosphere, with a counter where a polite middle-aged woman took orders. I ordered a healthy sandwich with tomato and egg, which was reasonably priced. The quiet ambiance of the café made me appreciate the simple pleasure of dining out. Afterwards, I visited the museum, Yanagi's house, and the Museum of Modern Japanese Literature nearby, before leisurely strolling through Komaba Park. It was a delightful experience, especially seeing the former residence of the Marquis of Maeda, with its impressive history.

I came near to take the Eiken exam. I arrived too early, so I'm killing time here. The retro atmosphere is nice. I ordered a special mocha blend. After a while, I could see them brewing coffee with a siphon. It's a great cafe.

I ordered cinnamon sugar toast and black sugar cafe au lait. The toast came with a mini salad which I felt was a good deal. The vegetables in the salad were fresh and the dressing was delicious. The cinnamon sugar toast had caramelized sugar which added a nice aroma and sweetness. The addition of cinnamon also added a nice touch, making a simple toast very satisfying. The black sugar cafe au lait was good coffee, but the sweet drink was a miss.

I went in for lunch, but the staff seemed overwhelmed as there was only one person working. They ended up locking the door to prevent new customers from entering. It was quite a unique and intense customer service experience at this restaurant.

I used it for a meeting. It was very calm and relaxing, and the atmosphere was very comfortable because it was not crowded. I think it was less crowded because it was late in the evening.

They only open until 7 o'clock. I ordered the signature Colorado coffee and dorayaki with soy milk cream. The coffee is a bit bitter and lacks aroma; the dorayaki is a typical store-bought product. Not really worth a second visit.

After eating soba, I felt like having a coffee, so I went to Colorado Coffee, a familiar spot along the Inokashira Line. It was still before noon and there were only a few customers ahead of me. I ordered the Colorado Blend. The female owner, who appeared to have a short haircut, was handling everything by herself. As she was brewing my coffee, more and more customers started to arrive. In no time, the place was full, mostly with what seemed like regular female customers. The freshly brewed coffee had a nice aroma. Despite being very busy serving lunch sets to most customers, she moved efficiently without any wasted motion. She quickly delivered food and drinks, cleared tables as soon as customers left, and was ready to welcome the next ones. For those who arrived later, she casually asked during the order, "It will take about 10 minutes, is that okay?" showing a refreshing and considerate attitude. I thought to myself that I would love to visit regularly if my workplace was nearby. I had only been observing from the train before, but the feeling of passing trains, the calmness after they passed, and the experience of actually going inside were all worth it. Thank you for the meal.

Located near the prestigious University of Tokyo, Komaba Todaimae Station on the Keio Inokashira Line is well-known. The area around the station is quite unassuming, with just a McDonald's, a tsukemen noodle shop, a public restroom, and a traditional soba restaurant in sight. If you go up the hill towards the soba restaurant, you will find "Colorado". Situated along the Inokashira Line, you can see the passing trains from the restaurant, adding to its charm. Beyond that, you can catch a glimpse of Komaba no Koen Park, giving off a somewhat resort-like atmosphere. In the morning, the place is bustling with locals ordering the breakfast set or businesspeople. While the coffee at Colorado may not be my favorite blend, it still hits the spot. The unique salad dressing that comes with the breakfast set is also quite enjoyable.

In June 2016, I pulled an all-nighter for the first time in years due to certain circumstances. It was a bit of a crazy high-tension experience, but I was feeling great! I had a Cheese Toast Morning for breakfast, which cost 560 yen. The thick slices of toast with melted cheese on top were fluffy and crispy, freshly baked. The coffee I paired it with was piping hot and had a rich aroma. I noticed they had siphons lined up on the counter, and the coffee had a distinct boldness that hit my tired brain directly with its strong caffeine. Overall, I was happy that the breakfast came with a mini salad. Rating: 3.5 stars.

I used this cafe before the national civil service exam. I was feeling anxious and nervous because it was before the exam. However, the quiet atmosphere of the cafe gave me time to think and relax. I ordered a drink and cake set for 700 yen, which was very attractive. The somewhat aloof attitude of the owner, or rather, the sense of distance, was good for me before the exam. January 5, 2015 - First review of the year. I realized that I had only been going back and forth between my home and the mailbox for the past week, eating mochi and homemade meals, and not consuming anything wheat-based. So, I decided to come here. It's my first time eating out in 2015. It's a chain restaurant, but I like the calm atmosphere and have always enjoyed their clubhouse sandwich. I've been here many times since it's close by, but I wouldn't consider myself a regular. Today, I was tempted to try the meat sauce spaghetti, but after seeing a photo of a soft-boiled egg in the middle, I changed my mind. The lunch set with the clubhouse sandwich was 930 yen, and I added clam chowder for an extra 160 yen. I'll have a hot coffee later. The city is quiet as the nearby university hasn't started yet, so when I entered at 2 p.m., I was the only one there. A man who came in later sat at a nearby table and started smoking. Since it's a smoking-permitted area, I asked the owner for permission and moved to another table. However, the man quickly drank his iced coffee and left. The sandwich comes with a small salad, which is amazing. It includes cabbage as a base, sliced raw radish and carrot, boiled burdock, a potato salad with corn, and topped with thick hijiki seaweed. It's a well-balanced and nutritious salad, and it tastes great. According to diet theory, I should eat the salad first, but I'm worried about the sandwich getting cold. I quickly pick up the thick sandwich. The thin bread is nicely toasted and crunchy. It's filled with tomatoes, lettuce, bacon, and a thin fried egg. I take a big bite. Crunchy and delicious, just the right amount of saltiness. Eating out is the best. The clam chowder had a rich and flavorful taste, not like a simple canned one. It was thick and stayed warm, so I could save it for later. Just as I finished eating, a familiar female customer came in and greeted the owner for the new year. As far as I know, the owner has been running the place for a long time. Even during this busy time, the owner didn't forget to take care of me, asking if I wanted my coffee refilled. She quickly brought me a hot cup of coffee. After that, a young woman and two men came in for tea time. Since I finished my coffee, I decided to leave. "The bread in this sandwich is delicious, where do you buy it from?" "We order it from a supplier that serves all the Colorado chain restaurants." I found out their supplier's secret!

I entered the cafe to adjust my schedule. It's like a Doutor-style shop. It's a chain store, but it feels like a privately owned shop. I ordered just coffee this time. They also serve light meals like sandwiches and spaghetti, typical of a cafe. The shop isn't very spacious. The shelves inside the counter store quite stylish tableware. It has a cozy atmosphere, almost like a local hangout spot. It's been a while since I last visited, but I'd like to go again.

This is a cafe located about a minute's walk from the west exit of Komaba Todaimae Station. It's a chain store but has a cozy, individualistic atmosphere. The location is convenient but the shop is a bit too small. People who like retro vibes might really enjoy it though. There were a few regular solo customers.
